The Princess of Wales today said she is ‘doing well’ as she bravely opened up about her cancer diagnosis.

Kate Middleton, 42, was admitted to a London hospital in January for a planned operation and returned to Windsor to continue her recovery.

However, doctors discovered an unspecified form of cancer in tests taken after her surgery.

Today, Kate revealed in a video message that the diagnosis ‘came as a huge shock’ but she was now in the ‘early phase’ of preventive chemotherapy treatment.

Here MailOnline describes her health history.

A two-inch scar on the head

Kate has a three-inch scar on the left side of her head, dating from childhood.

It was first noticed in 2011 when the Princess officiated her first solo royal engagement at a private black tie dinner at Clarence House.

It was confirmed that it was the result of a surgery performed when she was a young child.

An official statement explained that “the scar was related to a pediatric operation,” but that the details of the operation were a private matter.

Royal sources confirmed it had been ‘a very serious operation’ but declined to comment further.

However, surgeons said at the time that the scar is unlikely to be the result of a tumor and may have been caused by the removal of a mole.

Morning sickness

The princess was hospitalized for three days in 2012 due to severe morning sickness while pregnant with Prince George.

She was admitted to King Edward VII’s Hospital, a private hospital in Marylebone used by the royal family for more than a century.

Kate suffered a recurrence of hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) while pregnant with Princess Charlotte in 2014 and Prince Louis in 2018.

This condition caused the princess to announce her later two pregnancies prematurely, before reaching the crucial twelve-week stage.

However, while she was transporting Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, she was cared for at Kensington Palace rather than hospital.

HG can lead to severe dehydration and puts both mother and baby at risk of being deprived of essential nutrients because they are unable to keep food and drink down.

Patients can vomit up to 30 times a day, with exhausting and dangerous consequences.

Kate revealed in 2020 that she used meditation and deep breathing to manage her symptoms.

Abdominal surgery

The princess was scheduled for major abdominal surgery in January and spent two weeks in hospital.

Kate was admitted to the London Clinic in Marylebone and returned home to Windsor to continue her recovery with the support of her family.

At the time, her condition was not thought to be cancerous but no other details of the operation were given.

She was advised to recover for two to three months.

Her absence from the public eye sparked a social media firestorm and a number of baseless conspiracy theories.

It was alleged that at least one employee of the London Clinic tried to access her medical records.

Three employees have been suspended while the hospital investigates the claims.

Cancer diagnosis

The princess announced today that she is in the “early stages” of treatment for an unspecified form of cancer.

No tests prior to her abdominal surgery had confirmed the presence of cancer.

However, doctors discovered the disease in tests taken after her surgery.

In a video message released today, Kate said her medical team had advised her to undergo a preventive course of chemotherapy.

“This obviously came as a huge shock, and William and I have done everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,” she added.

“I am doing well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal: in my mind, body and spirit,” she said.

Kate also recognized others whose lives have been impacted by cancer.

“To anyone facing this disease in any form, please do not lose faith and hope. You are not alone.’

Kate’s battle with cancer in her own words: Full emotional video statement from the Princess of Wales

I wanted to take this opportunity to personally thank you for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding while I was recovering from surgery.

It’s been an incredibly tough few months for our whole family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful.

In January I had major abdominal surgery in London and at the time my condition was deemed to be non-cancerous. The operation was successful. However, tests after the surgery revealed that cancer was present. My medical team therefore recommended that I undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.

This obviously came as a huge shock, and William and I have done everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.

As you can imagine, this has taken time. It took me time to recover from major surgery before I could start my treatment. But the most important thing is that it took us time to explain everything

George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that suits them, and to reassure them that I will be fine.

As I told them; I am doing well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirit.

Having William by my side is also a great source of comfort and reassurance. As does the love, support and kindness shown by so many of you. It means so much to both of us.

We hope you understand that we as a family now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment. My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery.

At this time I also think of all those whose lives have been touched by cancer. To anyone facing this disease in any form, please do not lose faith and hope. You are not alone.

The family of a woman who fought with a developer to keep their ancestral land in Hilton Head, S.C., has reached a settlement in the legal battle that recognizes her ownership, a family attorney said this week.

Josephine Wright, who died in January at the age of 94, led the fight to retain rights to the land that had been in her husband’s family since the Civil War. Her quest received support from celebrities including Snoop Dogg and Kyrie Irving.

The company that owns the project next door to her property, Bailey Point Investment, had sued Ms Wright for trespass in February 2023. The company said its satellite dish, shed and screened porch encroached on the land, which had “significantly delayed and hindered” development.

The two sides had agreed to the terms of a settlement before Mrs Wright died in January, but the documents had not been signed so they had to wait until it was determined who would be authorized to sign on behalf of her estate, Roberts Vaux. the family’s attorney said in an email.

Mr Vaux declined to give details of the settlement but said the land Ms Wright claimed had been “confirmed as hers”.

An attorney representing Bailey Point Investment did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

A spokeswoman for the family, Altimese Nichole, told South Carolina Public Radio that the settlement requires Bailey Point Investment to stop contacting the family about acquiring the land and to repair a roof on the property, install a privacy fence and provide landscaping.

Mrs. Wright had previously told The New York Times that her husband inherited the 4-acre estate from his parents and that it was transferred into her name after he died in 1998.

The property was a gathering place for Ms. Wright’s seven children, 40 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, she had said.

However, Ms. Wright’s predicament was not so unique among residents of Hilton Head, SC, an island 100 miles from Charleston, SC.

Land in the area was owned by many black families who had settled there long before developers arrived in the 1950s and turned it into a tourist destination, Mel Campbell, 75, a community elder previously told the Times. Many of the black families were descendants of West and Central Africans who were enslaved and worked on rice, indigo, and cotton plantations.

Many families received large checks from developers for their land, Ms Wright said. She said she declined when she was offered $39,000 for the land years ago.

Ms Wright told The Times in August that the value of the land was not just monetary. “It’s a family affair,” she said then, “and we want to keep it that way forever.”

The confrontation between Texas and the federal government over whether the state can enforce its own immigration policies reflects a broader and recurring feature of American politics: A number of hot-button issues have become proxy fights over who gets to decide.

During the Trump administration, Democratic-led states like California and blue cities like New York waged legal battles over their right to pass sanctuary laws to protect migrants. Now the conflict over whether Texas can arrest and deport migrants is just part of a larger campaign that Red states have directed against the Biden administration.

A coalition of Republican attorneys general has also gone to court to thwart administration efforts to regulate methane emissions from oil and gas drilling, to block a program that allows humanitarian access to migrants from specific countries, and to stop an attempt to crack down on the refugee crisis. including weapon accessories.

The balance of power between the national government and states has been a source of tension in the United States since its founding, leading to the Civil War. But in the 21st century, as partisan polarization has increased, it has morphed into a new dynamic, with states controlled by the party opposing the president regularly pushing the boundaries.

The political issues vary—and include topics like abortion, gun control, gay marriage, and even the legalization of marijuana—but the larger pattern is clear: Whenever one party gains control of the central government, the other party uses its control several states try to oppose national policies.

“We are seeing things we have never seen in modern times,” said Heather K. Gerken, dean of Yale Law School, who has written about contemporary federalism. “It’s really amazing what kind of proxy war is happening. It’s all because the vicious partisanship that has long been a hallmark of Washington has now reached the states.”

A clause in the Constitution says that federal statutes are supreme, and the traditional view is that where federal and state law conflicts, federal law prevails. At the same time, the Constitution only grants certain powers to the federal government and reserves the rest to states. In practice, the powers of both levels often overlap.

As a result, the lines aren’t always clear, says Jessica Bulman-Pozen, a Columbia law professor who has written about what she’partisan federalism.” That ambiguity, she said, combined with the increasing nationalization of politics, has led to parties using control of states to oppose presidents of the other party.

“We have a lot of political fights that are channeled through this federalist structure, where if you have a Democratic president, Republican-led states try to pick fights with the presidency and the same with Democratic states during Republican administrations,” Ms. Bulman. Pozen said. “And certain people’s views on state power and federalism will often change with different governments and different exercises of power.”

Political scientists say the growing partisan gridlock that has gripped Washington over the past two decades has created conditions in which states conveniently controlled by one party or the other, such as Texas and California, can strike out on their own .

Liberal states like California and Democratic-led cities have adopted gun restrictions, car emissions standards that are stricter than national standards and sanctuary city policies to limit how local law enforcement can work with federal immigration agents. Meanwhile, Republican states have passed strict abortion bans and declared themselves Second Amendment sanctuaries.

“The states have become more and more powerful,” says Lara M. Brown, political scientist and author. “Most of us live under state laws more than federal laws. Texans are happy to be able to walk around with their guns. And Californians are not happy people.”

Akhil Reed Amar, a professor at Yale Law School, said the arguments about federalism pit two ideals against each other. One is that everyone will be happier if different parts of the country can govern themselves, as long as people can move to the places they agree with. The other is that to be a viable country with an integrated economy, certain basic rules and uniform national rights are needed.

History shows that there are limits to how states can govern in different ways, in part because what happens in one state can impact another.

A judge on the federal appeals panel weighing Texas immigration law took a closer look at that question Wednesday, asking whether the state could arrest an undocumented migrant who entered the state not from Mexico but from Arizona. “Maybe?” responded Aaron L. Nielson, the attorney general of Texas.

Just as it proved untenable for the nation to continue in the 19th century, as some states allowed slavery and others outlawed it — with fights over issues like what happened if an enslaved person was taken or fled to a free state — the political reality is that people are trying to use national control to impose a uniform vision.

For nearly fifty years, the Supreme Court’s landmark ruling in Roe v. Wade meant that states could not ban abortion. Then, after a conservative majority reversed that decision in 2022, many Republican-controlled states imposed sharp restrictions on the procedure, while Democratic-controlled states did not.

But the issue remains volatile. Disputes have arisen over whether anti-abortion states can criminalize traveling elsewhere to terminate pregnancies and whether states that support abortion rights can send abortion pills to women living in states where the procedure is banned. And both supporters and opponents of abortion have passed national legislation to impose their respective ideals on the entire country.

The battle for uniformity and diversity does not always take place in the courtroom. Despite federal laws banning marijuana, Washington has largely allowed more than thirty states to legalize and regulate medical or recreational cannabis, for example.

But very often these fights end in lawsuits, with the final resolution resting in the hands of the Supreme Court. Because the court has tilted increasingly to the right over President Donald J. Trump’s three appointments, Republicans have an advantage.

For example, in 2015, the court voted five to four to strike down laws in conservative-leaning states that limited marriage to heterosexual couples, allowing same-sex couples to marry in all fifty states. In 2022, the court’s broader conservative majority — in addition to overturning Roe v. Wade — voted 6-3 to strike down laws in New York and other liberal-leaning states that placed strict limits on carrying guns in the public.

Yet the deeper roots of the conflict lie in the structure of the U.S. government, which from its inception has placed the powers of the national government at odds with the states.

“You see it over and over again,” said David I. Levine, a professor at the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, who has followed California’s conflicts with the federal government during the Trump administration. “The Civil War. Civil rights, school integration. It’s built into the system.”

Since the start of the war in Gaza, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel has repeatedly spoken of the need to overthrow Hamas, but has done little to address the power vacuum created by the withdrawal of Israeli forces.

Nowhere is that more evident than in northern Gaza, where an Israeli military attack on a major hospital complex entered its third day on Wednesday, as Israel said the re-emergence of Hamas fighters had forced it to return to a place they first visited. had stormed in November. .

The Israeli military said troops have engaged in deadly firefights with militants in the Al-Shifa complex since Monday, leaving displaced people, medical teams and local residents caught in the crossfire. On Wednesday, the army said it had killed dozens of militants in the operation and questioned or arrested hundreds of people. The report of the operation could not be independently confirmed.

Israeli military analysts say it could take months or years to implement a coherent plan for governing Gaza, and that troops would likely have had to return to Al-Shifa in the meantime. But Netanyahu’s critics say he has failed to put forward even an initially realistic proposal, leaving Palestinian citizens to bear the brunt of the costs of the disorder.

“Lives have turned into hell,” said Talal Okal, a political analyst from Gaza City who fled northern Gaza in October and is now in the United Arab Emirates.

“Netanyahu and his partners do not want to answer the question of the day after the war,” he said. “Complete chaos has ensued and the people are paying the price. But what can they do? All they can do is raise their hands and pray to God.”

Following the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on October 7, Israeli forces launched a full-scale invasion of northern Gaza, killing Hamas militants and causing massive civilian casualties and destruction. Its soldiers first raided Al-Shifa Hospital in November after accusing Hamas of using the hospital for military purposes.

That attack on Shifa revealed a tunnel shaft made of stone and concrete under the hospital. At the time, Gaza’s health ministry said the raid had put the hospital out of service.

Soldiers withdrew from the hospital in mid-November, but returned to the area in late January and withdrew again in February.

Now that Israeli forces have shifted the focus of their invasion to southern Gaza — and Netanyahu says they will soon invade the southernmost city of Rafah — the north of the enclave is all but cut off from humanitarian aid. Lawlessness, damaged roads and attacks on convoys have prompted aid agencies to suspend deliveries there The United Nations has said many of its aid missions have been blocked by Israel. Israeli officials say there are no limits on the amount of aid that can enter Gaza.

Palestinians in the north are struggling to obtain basic services and food.

“We are alive, but we are dead,” said Rajab Tafish, 37, a resident of Gaza City. “We are exhausted from all this misery.”

Mr Tafish, a telephone repairman, said he and his family could hear “terrifying” explosions and gunfire coming from Shifa Hospital, where a relative was being treated but could no longer be reached.

He said his family sent his brother to nearby schools on Wednesday in the hope of obtaining flour.

The UN-backed Integrated Food Security Phase Classification initiative said this week that 1.1 million people, half of Gaza’s population, were likely to face catastrophic food insecurity and predicted an impending rise in hunger-related deaths. In the northern areas, the report said, 300,000 people faced “threatened” famine.

Twice in the past month, attempts to distribute food ended in bloodshed, with Palestinians seeking help killed.

More than 100 people were killed in Gaza City on February 29, according to local health authorities, who said Israeli forces opened fire on a crowd gathered around aid trucks. The Israeli army acknowledged opening fire but said most of the deaths occurred when people stampeded or were run over by truck drivers.

Last week, at least 20 people were killed while waiting for help at a roundabout in northern Gaza. Officials in Gaza said Israeli forces targeted the crowd, a claim the Israeli military categorically denied.

Since the start of the Biden administration, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has increasingly challenged the federal government on immigration, questioning the idea, long championed by federal courts, that it is Washington, not the border states, that determine immigration. policy.

Mr. Abbott has been able to score some important victories, pushing the boundaries of what a governor can do when it comes to immigration enforcement.

With the support of the Republican-dominated Texas Legislature, he has poured more than $10 billion into a long-term deployment of state police and National Guard troops to the border, leaving parts of Texas communities along the Rio Grande converted into quasi-military encampments. complete with bases for soldiers and concertina wire borders.

“Texas is doing its part to secure a border made wide open by Joe Biden,” Abbott said at the start of a speech. press conference in December near a section of towering steel border fencing installed and paid for by the state.

Lawyers for Mr. Abbott and the state of Texas went to a federal appeals court on Wednesday for what the governor seemed to be aiming for all along: a showdown with the federal government over Texas’ power to set its own immigration policies.

The legal battle centers on the state’s most ambitious and bold challenge yet to federal supremacy over immigration: a new law signed by the governor that makes it a crime for migrants to enter Texas from abroad without authorization , punishable by imprisonment. , deportation by the state, or both.

Even before a final ruling in the case, Mr. Abbott was able to briefly celebrate a victory Tuesday when the U.S. Supreme Court allowed the law, known as Senate Bill 4, to take effect at least temporarily. For a few hours, the Supreme Court gave the state of Texas the power to take immigration enforcement more fully into its own hands.

But officers in Texas had not yet made any arrests under the law when later on Tuesday the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit issued an order lifting the previous stay and temporarily reinstating an injunction blocking implementation of the measure. law.

The ultimate outcome of the case remained an open question. A three-judge panel of the Fifth Circuit would hear arguments on whether the order would be set aside during the many months it would take for Texas to appeal the ruling, or reinstate the order and enforce the law. would stand guard while the case was being heard. the appeal procedure.

But for Mr. Abbott, the focus on the border and the legal wrangling over his border enforcement program, known as Operation Lone Star, have already yielded major political gains.

His immediate challenges on immigration policy – a top issue for Texans, especially Republicans – have won him strong support within his own party and majority support in the state.

His legal battle with the Biden administration has brought Republican governors from across the country to his side, prompting 25 of them to join a statement in January that they “stick to Texel.”

Mr. Abbott beamed as he sat next to Donald J. Trump during a recent visit by the former president to the border town of Eagle Pass. He later played on Trump’s suggestion that he could be considered as a running mate.

“He’s very nice about suggesting things like that,” Mr. Abbott said this in an interviewadding that he was “deeply committed” to governing Texas and would eventually seek a fourth term.

Mr. Abbott, however, was not always viewed with affection by immigration hardliners and Trump supporters. During his 2022 re-election campaign, he faced major challenges from several Republicans, including a former senator, Don Huffines, who repeatedly challenged Mr. Abbott to take more aggressive steps at the border. Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News host, invited Mr. Huffines Appear on his show and join the attack on the governor in 2021.

Since then, Mr. Abbott has taken a hard turn, which he insists was not motivated by political pressure but by what he says was the federal government’s failure to adequately secure the border.

He has sent thousands of National Guard members to the border.

He used a migrant bus program, initially derided by critics as a political stunt, to send more than 100,000 migrants out of state, turning Texas’ record number of arrivals into a pressing political issue for Democrats in cities like New York and Chicago. The bus program divided his political opponents and helped change the terms of the national debate on immigration.

He placed a barrier of buoys in the Rio Grande, forcing the federal government to fight him in court to remove them. He directed state police to establish a program to arrest migrants found on private farmland and charge them with criminal trespass.

And in an effort clearly intended to directly address the constitutional questions of whether a state has the right to assume the role of the federal government in immigration matters, Mr. Abbott advanced a legal theory of an “invasion” of migrants, put forward by Mr. Huffines and some former Trump administration officials. The governor formally declared the arrival of record numbers of migrants an invasion invokes part of the US Constitution which, according to his argument, allows states to take over war powers in such situations.

Mr Abbott has since reiterated his declaration of an invasion. Texas lawyers cited the legal theory of invasion as one of their arguments in defense of the migrant arrest law.

In issuing an injunction against the law last month, a federal district judge in Austin said the invasion argument failed on several counts, rejecting the idea that Texas was somehow at war. The Texas law violated federal statutes and was unconstitutional, the court ruled, citing decades of federal rulings and Supreme Court precedents.

But it was clear that in light of the new 6-3 Conservative majority on the Supreme Court, Mr. Abbott fully intended to challenge these precedents, especially a 2012 decision. Arizona v. United States, in which the Supreme Court, by a 5-3 vote, reaffirmed the federal government’s broad power over immigration.

This bold legal move may ultimately fail in court. But for the governor, it has already been a winning strategy.

With Brentford perilously close to the bottom three, three sides are vying to get into pole position to land the striker this summer.

SunSport understands that Tottenham, Chelsea and West Ham have all expressed interest in signing the 28-year-old.

It comes after Arsenal, who were previously linked with Toney, cooled their interest.

As for Chelsea, the West Londoners know they have to sell before they can buy or risk breaking profit and sustainability rules.

Our source said: “If Brentford drop out of the Premier League, which now seems a real possibility, there will be a race to sign Ivan Toney.

“That’s why some clubs are already taking steps to try to get into pole position and sign the player.”

“It is understood that Chelsea and Spurs both need a number nine and Toney would suit both clubs, but West Ham are now also interested.

“The club believes Toney can be a real statement signer and take the team to the next level.

“West Ham are crying out for a striker who can help turn a good side into one that can really challenge for the Champions League.

“Arsenal are less interested now. Mikel Arteta has a system and a way of playing and he doesn’t think a conventional number nine like Ivan Toney is what they need.”

Brentford goes for ‘full WWE mode’ and introduces Ivan Toney ‘like the Undertaker’ as light show marks striker’s return

SunSport can also reveal that Toney is ‘open-minded’ about remaining in the capital after making it clear to his advisers that he does not want to leave the Premier League.

Our source added: “Clubs in Italy and Spain have been following Toney for ages. He is one of the most sought after players in Europe.

“But Ivan is not really interested in moving abroad. He sees his future in the Premier League.

“His priority is to score the goals that save Brentford and cement his way into the England squad.

“But after that there is a general acceptance that he will move on and start at a new club in the Premier League next season.

“It will be a new start and, at the age of 28, the biggest step of his career.”

Tallulah (seen at the Vanity Fair Oscars party earlier this month) said her diagnosis – which she received this summer – ‘changed her life’

The video shows a young Tallulah being held by Bruce as he answers a journalist’s questions, fiddling with his ears and repeatedly rubbing his bald head with her hands.

Her post prompted one follower to ask about her diagnosis.

The actress replied, “Actually, this is the first time I’ve ever shared my diagnosis publicly. I found out this summer and it changed my life.”

Her sister, Scout LaRue, also wrote, “She’s stimulating,” while Tallulah replied, “Dude, the ear curl. I wish we had stronger audio.”

According to the Cleveland Clinicstimming ‘is when a person makes the same movements or sounds repeatedly.’

It’s a way for people to regulate their emotions and it is “often (but not always) associated with autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental disorders.”

Although it has been reported that boys are “four times more likely” to have autism than girls, recent research has concluded that nearly 80 percent of women are “undiagnosed by age 18,” according to UCLA Health.

Previously, the Stars On Mars personality has opened up about her battle with body dysmorphia and an eating disorder, as well as her ADHD diagnosis.

“For the past four years I have suffered from anorexia nervosa, which I have been reluctant to talk about because restricting food after I got sober at age 20 felt like the last vice I could cling to,” Tallulah prescribed Fashion in May 2023.

She said she went to an assisted living facility in Malibu at the age of 25 to deal with both the eating disorder and the depression she was struggling with.

“It was a largely therapeutic experience; for the first time I grieved for the 15-year-old misfit, the ugly duckling,” she said.

‘I was also diagnosed with ADHD and started taking stimulant medication, which was transformative.

‘I felt smart for the first time, but I also started to enjoy the appetite suppressant side effect of the drugs. I saw a way to banish the clumsy teenager in favor of a flighty fairy.”

Tallulah said that ‘like many people with eating disorders, [her] my sense of myself became confused.’

She said that “the onset of rapid weight loss” led to a feeling of “unhealthy elation.”

Tallulah said: ‘People say, “Oh wow!” And then it quickly turns into, “Are you okay?” My friends and family were terrified and I turned it down. They said, “Is this the ADHD drug?”

She said she was “very protective” of her medication and “rationalized it” by reminding herself how it improved her focus.

“An eating disorder therapist later told me: the smaller you are, the bigger you feel,” the actress wrote. “How fucked up is that?”

She said she weighed 84 pounds in the spring of 2022 and faced significant health complications as a result.

“I was always freezing,” she said. “I called mobile IV teams to come to my house, but I couldn’t walk in my Los Angeles neighborhood because I was afraid I wouldn’t have a place to sit down and catch my breath.”

It’s been almost two years since Tallulah’s stepmother Emma Heming, 45, released a joint statement via Instagram with her two daughters and Willis’ ex-wife Demi Moore, 61, and daughters Rumer, 35, Scout, 32, Tallulah, 30 , in which they announced that the actor was stepping back from acting amid his aphasia diagnosis.

In the statement dated March 30, 2022, they said Willis had “experienced a number of health issues and was recently diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive skills.”

It continued: ‘As a result of this and with much consideration, Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him. This is a very challenging time for our family and we are extremely grateful for your continued love, compassion and support.

“We are going through this as a strong family unit and wanted to include his fans because we know how much he means to you, just as you mean to him. As Bruce always says, ‘Live it up’ and together we plan to do just that.”

In November 2023, Tallulah shared an emotional post about her father’s health struggles.

At the time, she posted a selection of photos of her and her dad, including one that showed her beaming with Bruce’s arm around her as they sat on an armchair together.

The actress captioned the post, “Damn these pics coming tonight. You are my whole damn heart and I am so proud to be your Tallulah Belle Bruce Willis.”

The King is determined to attend this year’s Trooping the Colour, his official birthday celebrations, if his health allows it.

Aides are already exploring ways that Charles might be able to take part within the constraints of his ongoing cancer treatment.

This could include watching the military spectacular from a podium instead of on horseback as usual, having been driven from Buckingham Palace in a carriage as his late mother used to.

No firm decision will be taken until nearer the time, given the nature of His Majesty’s condition, and it will be dependant on medical advice.

The event is due to be held in London on Saturday, June 15. But the Mail understands that planning for the occasion is moving ahead as scheduled, giving cause for optimism.

‘There are a number of key events His Majesty would love to attend coming up in the diary and this is at the top of the list,’ a source said.

Dating from the 17th century, Trooping the Colour is one the biggest military ceremonial events of the year, involving more than 1,200 soldiers and musicians plus more than 200 horses.

Usually the monarch rides down from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards Parade via The Mall to inspect the troops.

The sovereign then rides back to the palace for the traditional balcony appearance with the wider Royal Family and flypast by the RAF.

As it stands, His Majesty has been advised by doctors not to attend events with large public gatherings after being diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer in January.

He is currently undergoing outpatient treatment in London although he is continuing to work hard behind the scenes on state matters and makes a point of being seen in public or on camera whenever possible.

Two weeks ago there was widespread confusion after tickets for Trooping the Colour were put on sale by the Ministry of Defence advertising the presence of the King.

Buckingham Palace said planning was under way but nothing could be confirmed.

However the Mail understands that things have moved on somewhat and staff are now exploring various options to ensure that Charles can attend as long as he ‘gets the nod’ from his team.

He would be keen to ride his horse, a black mare called Noble which was a gift from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

But the King could watch the event from a static position, which would be considered good news by well-wishers. His mother the late Queen attended the event in a carriage after 1987.

There has been no official confirmation of whether or not the Princess of Wales will be well enough to attend.

She had been due not only to attend the ceremony but also to conduct her own review of troops on June 8 in her role as Honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards whose ‘colour’ – or regimental flag – is being presented to the King.

However the Ministry of Defence was forced to take down a web page advertising her presence after Kensington Palace insisted that it was premature.

A spokesman said only that they would announce when Kate would return to work following her lengthy recuperation from abdominal surgery in January.

At the moment the princess is still expected to return to public duties after the Easter holidays, mostly likely following her children’s return to school in mid-April, dependent on medical advice at the time.

Royal aides have always said that it will be up to the princess if she wishes to make public more details about her health, which she may do in the context of a public engagement.

Sources say that there is no pressure or hurry on her to do so and her focus remains on ‘what is important’ – her recovery and her three children.

Rock musician Steve Harley has died at the age of 73.

The English singer and songwriter was best known as the frontman of the rock group Cockney Rebel.

He died at his home in Suffolk on Sunday morning after a short battle with cancer – having paused his current tour last month to undergo treatment.

In February, his official social media page said: ‘Due to ongoing cancer treatment, Steve cannot commit to any concerts in 2024.

‘Steve hopes that next year will be very different. He appreciates all your kind words and good wishes. Team SH.”

One wrote: ‘All the best with your treatment Steve, we hope for a full recovery.’

Another commented: ‘I hope you feel better soon and sending love to you and yours.’

A third wrote: ‘Sending positive thoughts your way. Best wishes to you and your family.’

Cockney Rebel was a rock band that achieved success in London in the early 1970s.

He enjoyed a brief stint as a solo artist before the band regrouped in April 1990 following the success of Harley’s 1989 tour.

From 1999 to 2008, Harley presented the BBC 2 radio show Sounds of the 70s. Tony Blackburn has since hosted the show since 2017.

Following his death on Sunday, it was announced that fans took to social media to express their grief.

One wrote: ‘RiP….Steve Harley…another one.’
