She was devastated after her hit series was canceled by Netflix in October after just one season.

But now Celeste Barber has been proven right.

The 41-year-old comedian’s sitcom Wellmania has become the most-watched Australian show on the streaming giant so far in 2023, reports The courier post.

According to data released by Netflix on Wednesday, the eight-episode, half-hour show clocked a whopping 41.4 million viewing hours on the streaming site between March and June.

Barber’s comedy ranked 400th on Netflix’s list of “most-watched” shows out of the 18,214 series available on the site.

The most popular Australian-made film was True Spirit, which ranked 242nd overall out of 18,000 films available on the site.

The adventure film, starring Titans actress Teagan Croft, is based on the memoirs of Jessica Watson, who at the age of 16 became the youngest person to travel the world.

The film has racked up 56.70 million viewing hours since its release on January 26.

Meanwhile, The Night Agent is the biggest show on Netflix overall.

The crime thriller managed to score 812.1 million viewing hours on the site in the first six months of 2023.

This is the first time the notoriously secretive Netflix has released detailed viewing figures for its shows The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday.

The data, which only covers the period January-June 2023, covers global viewing time, with each title on the site’s massive content roster racking up at least 50,000 viewing hours.

It comes after Barber launched a scathing tirade against the streaming giant after it was announced they had axed her show in October.

She posted a video to Instagram after hearing the news, discussing the shock cancellation and not mincing words in assigning blame.

“Hello friends, Wellmania will not be renewed for another season. Netflix said it’s something about numbers. “Sure,” she began.

‘I thought it was broken, but I don’t understand how it works. Thank you for the love and support surrounding the show. The way it was received was so overwhelming.

“A lot of you told me you saw yourself in my character and wanted to see more of her, but this industry is kind of bulls**t. So go watch Friends, but maybe not on Netflix,” she snapped.

She also posted a photo of the Wellmania poster next to a Netflix streaming chart, which showed that it was once among the top ten most-watched shows on the platform.
