SHE’s the queen of arts and crafts – and now Stacey Solomon has revealed how she gave a simple £30 Facebook bargain a whole new look on the cheap.

Even though Stacey has the money for chic furniture, that doesn’t mean the mother of five will ever say “no” to a fun DIY project — and one of her latest Instagram videos is proof.

The Loose Women panellist, 34, recently revealed how she cleared out an old cream cupboard she found on Facebook Marketplace and turned it into a ‘packing station’.

“I’ve wanted to do this for so long,” the mother said the videoadding that it cost her £30.

Once the beautiful wooden cupboard arrived, Stacey – who first found fame on X Factor in 2009 – removed all the shelves and doors.

“I took the hinges off the doors and then screwed them into the shelves so I could make a fold-out surface to wrap around,” the Sort Your Life Out star explained.

To make the wrapping station extra hip, Stacey also replaced the old buttons with funky gold scissor style buttons that matched the theme perfectly, as well as four pink buttons at the bottom.

”Then I just grabbed tension rods, put my wrapping paper on the tension rods and slid them into the closet.

“Then some hooks for my scissors, and a small transparent shelf for my other accessories.”

While creating the wrapping station, the crafty mom confessed that she always forgets everyone’s birthdays — so she also added a little calendar to remind her of the special dates.

Meanwhile, the drawers were filled with paper bags and tissue paper, greeting cards and other gift accessories that she had placed in old IKEA baskets that she had previously spray painted.

”And voila – gift station ready. I love it so much – it’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen!” the mother was absolutely delighted.

“And now I no longer have to scour the entire room just for a birthday card.”

She added in the caption: “It will live in the office and be my little cupboard of packing heaven forever.”

Since it was shared on the platform, where Stacey has almost 6 million followers, the clip has gone viral, racking up 4.9 million views in just one day.

Hundreds of amazed DIY fanatics rushed to the comments to praise the crafty mum, with one writing: ”That’s a winner!”

Another begged: “My fish locker, please.”

A HAIR expert has revealed the secret of the masks she makes to make her mane grow long.

Her trick is not only accessible and inexpensive, but also helps add shine to lifeless hair.

Lexi (@swankylexiss) shared the hair care recipe in a TikTok video.

She revealed that the secret ingredient to her powerful hair masks was three tablespoons of ground coffee.

Along with the coffee, she added three tablespoons of a hydrating hair mask, three full droppers of argan oil, a tablespoon of castor oil, and 10 optional drops of your essential oil of choice.

She gave the ingredients a good mix to incorporate the coffee grounds and oils.

A Study from 2007 found that caffeine stimulated hair growth in male hair by blocking the effects of DHT, a hormone that causes hair loss and male pattern baldness.

Caffeine was also found to prolong the hair growth phase and enhance the growth effects on female hair follicles.

Additional benefits include a balanced microbiome for overall scalp health.

Coffee is also antioxidant and rich in flavonoids, which helps strengthen hair follicles and increase shine.

Lexi gave a brief overview of the benefits of coffee grounds.

Ever heard of color infusion?

Painting is all about using one color on all surfaces in a room – even down to the light switches and baseboards.

Experts say this makes rooms appear larger by allowing walls, ceilings and built-in cabinets to flow seamlessly together.

By painting everything the same shade, you eliminate strong contrasts or harsh lines and allow the eye to sweep across a room.

However, darker shades can “work beautifully for infusing color by creating a cozy cocoon of color.”

Mum-of-two Jordan Miller took to Instagram to share how she infused her small downstairs bathroom with color – and people called the design ‘gorgeous’.

She used Benjamin Moore’s paint in Vintage Vogue, dark olive green, to cover everything from the ceiling and walls to the baseboards and light switches.

“I absolutely love the color-infused atmosphere and no piece of molding or ceiling is safe in my home,” Jordan said.

She explained that the DIY face wash was great “for hyperpigmentation and anti-aging properties.”

To start, she made oranges, pomegranates, green tea, rice water, honey, turmeric and soap base.

In a glass, she heated a bag of green tea in rice water, oranges and pomegranate juice in the microwave.

After extracting the green tea, she stirred the mixture thoroughly.

She transferred the juice to a large glass jar and added the honey, turmeric and soap base.

After another round in the microwave for 40 seconds, she transferred the finished face wash into a spray bottle.

“You’re done! Ready for a brighter, more even skin tone,” she said.

When she was ready to cleanse her skin, Vicky simply gave her face a few good spritzes and a good splash of water.

“It works,” she said simply.

A SINGLE mum has revealed she is boosting her town hall with freebies from a homeless charity.

Minnie Harris has documented the glow of her council house through a series of videos posted to her TikTok channel.

The 20-year-old has two children under the age of two and moved into her home two months ago.

She moved into the property a few weeks before her son was due to be born, so so far has only had the chance to start fitting out the kitchen.

Minnie, who lives in Norfolk, has painted the dull white walls a vibrant green and hung lots of B&M pictures and shelves on the walls.

“Normally this is the kind of thing I would ask for help with, but I wanted to teach myself how to do it myself,” she said.

Minnie has also decorated her dining room with Primark bargains, including some faux hanging plants and cute pink flower bowls.

In the center of the dining room is a stylish white table and chairs, which Minnie says she received for free from a homeless charity.

Minnie’s video, which was posted under the username @minnieharrisuk, has likely impressed many people as it has racked up over 500,000 views on the video sharing platform.

TikTok users rushed to the comments section of the video to share their thoughts on the council house renovation.

A DIY pro showed how to make cheap candles for Easter.

Her trick is “so cute” and made from old plastic eggs.

TikToker Macy Blackwell (@macy.blackwell) loves decorating for the holidays.

For spring 2024 she made egg candle holders.

“I’m obsessed with how cute these are,” she wrote.

“I used some plastic eggs I already had, and got the rest of the supplies from Amazon,” she continued. “So beautiful for your Easter decor.”

For your supplies you will need plastic eggs, two round wooden pieces per candle holder, dowels, glue, a drill, candles, and paint or ribbon.

Macy said the first step is to drill a hole in the top and bottom of the egg, making sure it is the same size as your dowel rod.

Then you drill a hole in the center of the wood pieces. It should be about half an inch deep, she said.

To keep the plug in place, put some glue in the hole and hold it down.

Then you can slide the eggs onto the rod, glue the top piece of wood into the hole and stick it on.

The last step is to place the candle on top, and you have the option to tie a ribbon around it.

“You can also paint the wood pieces if you want them to be a fun color,” Macy said.

A DIY fanatic has been brutally mocked after painting her kitchen worktop white – with some even thinking the makeover is such a crime she should be ‘sent to jail’.

Crafty Breeya Shade revealed the makeover on Instagram after she got tired of having to constantly ‘clean’ her brown kitchen countertops.

According to the woman, who is currently renovating her 1970s parsonage, not only was the granite a nightmare to care for, but it was also ‘difficult to keep looking clean’.

Although in an ideal world she would rather replace them completely, Breeya had to come up with a cheaper alternative because she still saves money.

Instead, Breeya, believed to be from the US, decided to paint over the granite with a special ‘marble countertop sealant’.

However, the DIY enthusiast was convinced that she would not be able to achieve the desired effect and stuck to a simple white background.

Sharing the makeover her pagesaid the woman, ”My ultimate plan is to replace them completely one day, but until we can save enough $$, this paint will do the job!

”I used @rust-Oleum marble countertop set, but I haven’t attempted marble veining because I know myself well enough to know that I wouldn’t like the faux marble look.”

According to Breeya, who said that the original granite look was the ‘bane’ of her ‘existence’, she was also not worried about the criticism that came her way.

“I don’t care what the haters say. This paint works so well and seemed durable enough.”

But while the crafty woman may have been over the moon with the transformation, social media trolls were anything but impressed.

Hundreds rushed to the comments in sheer horror, sharing their thoughts on the new worksheets.

The trick will keep weeds away from your patio without using harsh chemicals and toxic ingredients.
