The Rajasthan Assembly elections are expected to be a close contest. The Congress Party wants to defy the trend and win a third consecutive term, while the BJP hopes for a comeback. The AAP also plays a role in the elections and could play a spoiler role.

Rajasthan Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta on Friday said more than 3 lakh people were exercising their franchise through postal ballot ahead of the Assembly elections in Rajasthan on November 25.
As many as 51,890 polling stations have been set up, of which 12,500 have been identified as sensitive, the CEO told news agency ANI.

Talking about the preparations for the election day, Praveen Gupta said, “The elections will start at 7 am. As many as 51,890 polling stations have been set up. About 12,500 polling stations are sensitive and therefore equipped with webcasting. The live feed is monitored by district, state and booth officials. Arrangements have also been made for CAPF and videography at sensitive booths so that people can vote fearlessly.”
Gupta said that more than 1 lakh police personnel have also been deployed at the stalls as part of smooth functioning at all stalls. He further said that facilities have also been made for people with disabilities.

“Apart from the area magistrates, around 6,800 section officers have been deployed. Home voting facilities have also been arranged for those who cannot come to the polling booths. More than three lakh people have already cast their votes by post. Wheelchairs and free transportation have been arranged for people with disabilities at all polling booths,” he added.
