From serene natural retreats to luxurious glamping destinations, the annual AA Caravan and Camping Awards has revealed Britain’s best outdoor accommodation for 2024.

According to the AA, the award winners provide ‘an ideal destination for the 16.7 million camping and caravanning trips’ made in Britain each year. The awards went to twelve locations across the country, hand-picked by the AA’s inspectors, who judged them based on their ‘exceptional quality and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction’.

Awards included Glamping Site of the Year, Campsite of the Year and Most Improved. Simon Numphud, Managing Director at AA Media, said the winners demonstrate ‘unparalleled quality’ and ‘commitment to ensuring their guests’ experiences are truly exceptional’.

AA CAMPSITES OF THE YEAR

The quiet place in Ullswater, Cumbria, took home the award for England’s ‘Campsite of the Year’ and was also crowned overall winner, with AA inspectors describing it as a ‘beautiful park’ with ‘stunning views of the lake and the surrounding hills’.

Equally impressive, they add, is owner Daniel Holder’s “commendable ethos of sustainability and… exemplary standards in developing one of the country’s greenest parks,” which is “90 percent self-sufficient.”

In Scotland, first place went to Sands of Luce holiday park in Dumfries and Galloway, overlooking the ‘vast golden sands’ of Luce Bay. Inspectors praised the park’s new ‘accessible path to the beach’ and electric vehicle charging points. ‘TThis well-managed and presented holiday park provides a positive first impression on arrival and this feeling only improves as you explore the park,” she added.

In Wales, Home Farm Caravan park in Anglesey took home the crown for its ‘peaceful rural setting close to Moelfre beach’ and ‘first class’ service run with ‘passion and enthusiasm’. Inspectors liked the ‘high and remote location, sheltered by trees’ and the ‘views of farmland, sea and mountains of Snowdonia’.

In another, Bear was dressed in a suit as he watched the fire with Kimberley’s oldest son Bobby, eight, ahead of Cheryl’s birthday dinner.

Another music video showed the group all heading out with Cheryl’s sausage dog, with Bear following in a Spiderman costume.

Cheryl welcomed Bear in 2017 with her now ex-boyfriend Liam Payne, 29.

Cheryl and Liam originally met on The X Factor, but their romance started in 2016 before splitting in 2018.

Reflecting on her birthday celebrations, the singer wrote on Instagram, “As my 40th party comes to a close and a new era begins, I wanted to wish all my fellow 83 babies the happiest of happy birthdays.

“I wish you inner peace, lots of love, joy and happiness, we survived the turbulence!

“They say life begins at 40 and I think I believe them, thank you @wildernessreserve for the best birthday weekend I could have wished for.”

The star eschewed a big party as she celebrated her 40th birthday with a luxury glamping getaway and ‘fire party’ at the posh reserve in Suffolk – where prices start from £1,299 per night for a three-bedroom holiday home.

Cheryl shielded her eyes behind sunglasses and completed the ensemble with a fedora hat as she was seen walking her dog along the picturesque river.

The group then went into the woods for dinner, where they ate in a huge teepee decorated with beautiful flowers.

Diners enjoyed steaks cooked over an open fire before roasting marshmallows for dessert.

They later jumped into their chauffeured cars and seemed to be taken to more comfortable accommodation for the evening.

According to the website, Wilderness Reserve offers “peace and tranquility” on its sprawling property.

Cheryl, who was married twice, first found fame in Girls Aloud before becoming a household name as a judge on the X Factor, she later welcomed son Bear with One Direction’s Liam Payne, 29, and acted on the West End stage.

A source told The sun: “There has been a long line of other stars who have done the same, enjoying the rare opportunity to give their side of the story in their own words.”

“But Cheryl will only proceed if she is completely comfortable with the approach they will take and her level of input.”

“It’s too early to say which broadcaster is likely to air the show, but with competition between terrestrial channels and streamers stronger than ever, it would likely trigger a bidding war.”

MailOnline has reached out to Cheryl’s representatives for comment.

She was married to footballer Ashley Cole from 2006 to 2010, followed by restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini from 2014-2016.

Cheryl reportedly split from Liam Payne after two years after feeling like she was raising her alone The sun reported in 2018.

Sources told the publication that the Girls Aloud star “effectively raised Bear on her own for most of his freshman year,” during the Bedroom Floor hitmaker’s time on the road.

Insiders insisted the cause of the breakup was due to his “constant travel to promote his pop career in the months after their child was born,” and received support from her mother Joan.
