Meghan Markle is likely to make six figures within weeks of officially launching American Riviera Orchard, a brand expert claims.

After the 42-year-old Duchess of Sussex’s explosive return to social media last night, where she opened the account for her lifestyle and cooking brand, royal fans have gone into panic mode.

And while little information has been released about what American Riviera Orchard has to offer, brand expert Hayley Knight says the anticipation for the products and content will serve the company well in the early months.

She added that it was “not coincidental” that the Duchess launched the brand on the same day her husband Prince Harry was due to appear via video message at the Diana Legacy Awards, teasing fans with a “glitter” of information , she built anticipation for what the brand has to offer.

Hayley also said it “makes sense” that the Duchess has decided to launch a lifestyle brand following the success of rival A-list brands such as Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop and Kourtney Kardashian’s Poosh, adding that the Duchess “wants to position herself among celebrity counterparts places’ .

Speaking to FEMAIL, Hayley said: ‘We have seen in the past that everything Meghan wears, promotes and sells out immediately, and there are websites dedicated to ‘What Meghan Wears’ demonstrating her brand power.”

She added that Meghan had “incredibly strong” instincts when it came to PR and marketing, and “wouldn’t have launched this if she didn’t think it would work.”

So far, little has been shared about what American Riviera Orchard will look like when it officially launches, but Hayley thinks it’s safe to assume it will target “the mid-to-upper market,” with Meghan’ leans on the brand and her personal style’. .

Hayley predicted: ‘I’m sure we can expect homely, yet stylish, unique, modern designs for the stylish and contemporary home, with undertones of spirituality and mindfulness.’

The branding expert admitted that it is difficult to say how much the Duchess will earn from the American Riviera Orchard as no products or prices have been released yet.

But she predicted: ‘Meghan will definitely see rapid success once the store launches. We have seen in previous celebrity launches that demand is incredibly high and the products sell quickly.”

She added that Meghan will likely start selling her “own range” of products that she claims she will use herself, which will be “a popular selling point.”

“I can’t imagine Meghan making less than six figures within the first few weeks of opening, if not in the first week of selling globally,” she said.

As for brand collaborations on social media, Hayley said Meghan is unlikely to make money through paid partnerships, as the Sussexes will likely only use social media to promote the brand, rather than returning to platforms with their own accounts.

However, she added, “There’s a chance she could do interviews, though, and IG lives with other people in the industry, and if they get paid opportunities, she could make over $1 million per post.”

American Riviera Orchard was launched on Instagram and via the new website on Thursday evening with a slick video for the brand, in which Meghan mixed batter in a bowl in her kitchen.

Another frame showed her picking plush roses from a posy.

Insiders told the Daily Mail that the company would become a “lifestyle and cooking brand” that would focus on things Meghan holds dear.

It’s fitting that the Duchess’s venture includes cooking and food, something she has shown a passion for in the past.

In 2018, while living in Britain as a working royal, Meghan bonded with Grenfell Tower fire survivors when she joined a community kitchen in the area and had no qualms about helping out preparing meals.

The Sussexes’ explosive Netflix series revealed that Meghan remains in touch with the community today, despite now living in California.

The Duchess has also previously contributed recipes to charity cookbooks, including a lemon tart in The World Central Kitchen Cookbook: Feeding Humanity, Feeding Hope, published last year.

Brand expert Emily Austen advised Meghan to ‘remove herself from the brand’.

“It should come as no surprise that Meghan Markle has jumped on the wellness brand bandwagon, despite her apparent aversion to neutral tones during her time in Britain,” she told FEMAIL.

“Meghan and Harry have encouraged a family story as a couple, and Meghan has delved into kitchen-based brand moments, such as her cookbook; Together. She famously woke up at 5am to practice yoga at Buckingham Palace, and wrote in The Tig (her former blog and lifestyle website) about taking Ashwaganda in the early days of her relationship with Harry to keep her calm.

‘The LA, clean living aesthetic has been thoroughly thought through by wellness titans like Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow and Poosh. Less than 24 hours after her new brand announcement, the dedicated Instagram page had just under 350,000 new followers, although there were no product teasers yet.

“Instagram is a hugely lucrative platform for celebrities, and it is widely predicted by brand experts that Meghan will find her way onto it. In the US in particular, the home goods category has exploded, especially since Covid. Baking, table decorating, flower arranging and other healthy household activities have dominated social media and become lucrative additions to high street stores such as Zara and H&M.

“Meghan is a divine character and public opinion lands differently depending on your geographical location. The success of her brand will likely depend on the positioning of the products and the price. The initial branding suggests that the price point for these products is trending towards the higher end. The market is incredibly competitive, with many brands taking ownership of specific categories, rather than the entire house. Success stories include Our Place, which recently collaborated with Selena Gomez. Markle can expect a lot of interest in her brand initially, but the reality of achieving long-term success will take considerably more than a press release and an Instagram sneak peak.

‘It is understood that Meghan will be selling her own products on the website, rather than other brands, but she can expect to see a lot of interest from brand collaborations and partnerships. This will come at a high cost, but will also dilute the purity of the message about its own brand. My advice, which I will give despite not being asked, would be to remove Meghan from the visual language and brand as much as possible.

“Whatever you think about her, she is incredibly divisive and not universally loved. It’s risky to integrate yourself so intrinsically with a brand, given the relationship it has with its audience.

‘I would also change the name; it’s hard to spell, long-winded and looks like a country club wedding invitation. Maybe she got the inspiration from sitting in the Rosewood in Montecito, which is also home to a permanent Goop store…

‘Celebrity is without a doubt a huge driver of short-term success; Kylie Cosmetics, Skims, Rhode by Hailey Bieber. However, it does not guarantee long-term success. Celebrities like these can make millions of pounds from posting on social media, and generate huge sales as a result of their cult status.

“For Meghan to make money on Instagram, she needs an engaged, interested audience, with purchasing power. A product that is really needed, powerful images and messages that actually connect with those who look at it, instead of an inauthentic attitude.

‘I wouldn’t expect a company like this to make a profit certainly in the first twelve months, but it is unclear at this stage whether there has been any external investment, who actually runs the company and what the launch plan is. e.g. D2C through to website.

‘A smart move would be to partner with the established people in this space, to ensure audience share and increase credibility. Whether or not others are up for this remains to be seen,” she added.

A fitness model has revealed how her life drastically changed after adopting the ‘carnivore’ diet for an entire month.  

Petrina Barber, 41, who splits her time between London and Dubai, decided to cut out all processed foods and carbohydrates to help with her stoma output. 

The mother-of-one became an awareness campaigner and founded her business Beyond The Stoma after treatment for cervical cancer nine years ago led to her needing a stoma bag. 

With her new diet, that involved eating only meat, fish, eggs and a little cheese, Petrina said she wasn’t aiming to lose weight but instead was looking to improve her athletic performance energy levels by solely eating animal products. 

Before going on the diet, rice, sourdough, jam doughnuts, and chocolate were favourites in her life – and the initial days saw her struggle without having her go-to snacks. 

But after just one week, Petrina said she lost weight, her craving for snacks disappeared, her sleep improved and people said she looked healthier. 

Writing for FEMAIL, she delves into the struggles and positives of the diet week-by-week… 

First week

In the first week of starting the diet, I found myself faced with immediate challenges.

On the very first day, we were engaged in an all-day activity with my son, surrounded by the temptation of burgers and fries. I hadn’t adequately prepared for this diet transition, and my usual diet leaned heavily on good carbs. 

As a result, I quickly realised the need to increase my intake of quality-sourced protein and consequently, calories. Those initial days were tough, I was underprepared, lacked meal planning, and struggled to come up with food ideas. On top of that, I had an awful headache and just a general feeling of tiredness.

I soon realised that I was a snacker. I usually had a slice of toast or a jam doughnut almost every day, and without those now on the menu, I had to think through my options. Snacking on meat didn’t seem appealing at first, and what I learned was that it was important to fill yourself up at each individual meal.

After the first few days, my cravings vanished, along with the dips in energy that would often follow my previous snacking habits. It dawned on me that I no longer desired snacks while following the carnivore diet, I found myself constantly full and content.

Within the initial four days, I lost 2kg, and though I ultimately lost a total of 4kg, my weight eventually stabilised. 

Since I hadn’t aimed to lose weight, I shifted my focus to maintaining it. This was a natural progression for me, and I had no desire to continue losing weight beyond what my body naturally adjusted to.

I felt terrible during week one. I was exhausted – I thought it might be the case for a few days, but not as long as it went on. I still had a pounding headache and a foggy memory. 

But I was fully aware it takes one to two weeks to transition your body to the new diet as it needs to reconfigure how you get glucose from switching fuel supplies.

I was still training at the gym, and my workouts were at the same level as they were previously, so I saw no difference in training performance even though I felt tired.

On day five, I received vitamin D and B12 shots and underwent blood work. I opt for injections as my body, due to health issues and pelvic radiation disease, struggles to absorb supplements orally.

Some people do not deal well with fibre, especially after bowel resection, so I gave up fruits and vegetables around two years ago. 

It’s common with certain medical conditions they exacerbate symptoms and so the definition of a ‘healthy’ diet is always relative ultimately. 

Despite a common belief suggesting potential nutritional deficiencies, regular blood tests have shown no issues as long as I maintain my B12 and VitD shots. I believe it’s perfectly plausible to eliminate them from a diet and still be healthy. Everyone is just different.

The first weekend on the diet was so hard. I wanted to eat the usual foods I associate with family time on weekends, especially doughnuts. 

I also could have eaten better choices at lunch because they were too low in fat. Chicken and egg whites didn’t make me as full, so while it was enjoyable, I struggled with not feeling full afterward. 

Then I had to make avocado toast for my son, and I wanted to eat some. I love the taste of avocado and carbs. When we got home I felt tired and lacking any energy and I struggled not to have a jam doughnut. It was more out of habit and fatigue rather than a genuine desire. 

Later, we went out for dinner, and it was incredible. I indulged in beef carpaccio and steak, leaving me feeling very satisfied and full.

Second week

In week two, I found it easier to fall asleep and remain asleep. Already, I noticed changes in how my clothes fit. I appeared leaner with more muscle definition.

I read lots of advice suggesting daily exercise during the diet. However, I did the opposite and pulled back on my workouts to conserve energy but increased the intensity of the workouts and have more active rest and recovery time instead. 

This helped me stick to the routine and make it through the early days of the diet feeling less fatigued because I knew I wasn’t running myself into the ground. My workouts were powerful, consisting of weight training three times a week and one cardio session.

I went out for lunch with a group to socialise and it was easy to select food without standing out like I needed to eat certain foods. 

I simply modified some starters and had a large steak for lunch. I didn’t look or feel like a social pariah. That was a huge benefit. I had more comments with lunch on how well I looked.

I had no cravings after lunch for dessert or anything sweet, which usually happens to me. But, while my husband was stuffed after lunch,  I needed to eat more. So, I had some quick-to-cook burgers.

Third week

Knowing what I’m going to eat, planning in advance and buying the food ahead of time helped me stick to the diet more easily this week.

But I was shocked at how easy it is actually to under eat. I started the diet by tracking what I ate, and I am glad that I did because it showed me I was way off the mark.

I wasn’t picking the right foods initially. I’m on the diet for stoma output and because I believe it will have implications for my overall health – not to lose weight. 

That said, anyone switching to a carnivore diet would experience significant decreases in weight, as it’s very, very hard to overeat on this diet when you cut out all processed food and carbs. My concern was that I would drop too much weight, but the fact that I have found equilibrium is encouraging. 

I love the food. It felt relatively easy for me to eat protein all day, every day, as it’s my favourite type of food.

Fourth week

For my final week, the people around me were full of compliments. Two people noticed my skin was much brighter and commented on my face. My husband said I look healthier.

At the end of the month, I am active overall and doing three high-performance strength training sessions a week. I dropped cardio. I have a lot of energy, and that’s no longer an issue but I do not want to lose more weight.

I don’t get those periods of hunger or need to snack anymore. I used to eat breakfast, and I would want something afterwards, like another slice of toast. Or I would have dinner and want something sweet afterward. 

I’ve found that I don’t have cravings, which is shocking because rice, sourdough, jam doughnuts, and some chocolate were daily staples in my diet. I thought I would be folding under the pressure of wanting a jam doughnut by now, but I’m doing OK.

I have realised how organised you need to be on this diet. I am usually very organised when it comes to food, but if you don’t plan and prepare, you are unlikely to make it through one day, let alone a week. It’s not a diet where food is easily accessible in an emergency. You can’t just pick a sandwich up and eat the filling.

Like with any diet, you’ll probably already have some entrenched habits that will be hard to break. For me, there was a lot around the weekends, and I associate eating with my family, so that was very difficult. 

The carnivore diet is no joke, especially with the difficulty of the first few weeks and the side effects. I can understand why many people abandon the diet or find it too challenging.

But for me, overall, I felt it was a huge success, and I am sticking to the diet for the foreseeable future.

Whether you know it or not, your wardrobe suddenly looks a lot more like your daughter’s.

It may once have been unthinkable that you would wear the same brands. But now retailers are using the same fabrics and prints, but in different cuts to appeal to different generations.

Dakota Johnson has jetted off to Puerto Vallarta in Mexico with her partner Chris Martin amid reports her film Madame Web had a disastrous opening weekend.

Following negative reviews from critics, who have declared her latest project one of the worst superhero movies of recent times, Dakota, 34, appeared to seek solace on a sunny beach alongside her partner, 46.

Despite the news that her suspense thriller is officially Sony’s lowest-grossing Spider-Man movie of all time, the actress appeared unfazed while frolicking into the ocean in a high-cut white swimsuit.

Martin, who was previously married to Gwyneth Paltrow from 2003 to 2016, held Dakota’s hand as they waded into the ocean together to cool off.

The couple splashed around the water before returning back to shore, where the father-of-two could be seen kneeling on the sand, giving a prayer of gratitude. 

For their laid-back excursion, Martin displayed his hunky physique in a pair of light grey and orange shorts. 

Later, the duo were seen drying off next to an oceanfront cabana with beach towels, as they enjoyed the rest of their day in the sun.

As they prepared to leave the beach, Johnson threw up her long brown hair in a tight bun.

Johnson’s Madame Web scored one of the lowest superhero box office debuts in recent memory, which has essentially cancelled a possible franchise at the studio.

The film grossed $26.2 million in its first six days since debuting mid-week on Valentine’s Day, through Monday’s President’s Day holiday.

That tally became one of the lowest opening totals for any film based on a Marvel Comics character.

The studio did have plans on starting a new franchise based on Johnson’s title character and three other female charcters played by Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced and Celeste O’Connor.

However, now insiders tell The Hollywood Reporter that, given the atrocious box office receipts, there likely won’t be another Madame Web movie for another decade.

‘We’re not going to see another Madame Web movie for another decade-plus. It failed. Sony tried to make a movie that was a different type of superhero movie,’ an insider told THR.

While some superhero movies like Morbius failed to impress critics and fans but still fared well internationally and pulled in $170 million worldwide, that likely won’t happen with Madame Web.

It earned a paltry $25.7 from foreign markets for a worldwide debut of just $51.9 million, from a reported budget of $80 million that many sources claim is actually north of $100 million.

It still has yet to debut in China, easily the biggest and most important foreign market, with the Middle Kingdom debut set for March 1 and South Korea to follow as the final foreign market on March 13.

Still, it seems there is little hope that the Chinese release can offset all of the box office negativity surrounding the film.

The abysmal critical reaction – 13 per cent from the Rotten Tomatoes critics, one of the worst ever for any superhero movie – didn’t help matters either.

In fact, it seemed the dreadful reviews even lead to multiple cancellations of advance ticket sales.

‘On Wednesday night, you could actually watch advance purchase sales declining in real time as buyers were refunding their tickets,’ said a ‘major theatrical chain insider.’

The insider added, ‘It really says something when you’d rather have Shazam! 2 numbers,’ referring to 2023’s Shazam! Fury of the Gods.

That film was expected to earn between $35 million and $40 million in its domestic debut, though it underwhelmed with $30.5 million from 4,071 theaters.

While it remains to be seen what Madame Web will actually pull in when all the numbers are tallied, it will likely be far less than Shazam 2.

The studio seemingly had high hopes for Madame Web, with the film teasing her connection to Peter Parker/Spider-Man whose birth is shown in the film.

The movie was also being eyed to kick start a new franchise, with Madame Web using her clairvoyant abilities to assist three new Spider Women.

While it is unknown when they began dating exactly, Johnson and Martin were first romantically linked in 2017.

The couple have lived together in a multi-million Malibu beach-house for some years now.

Their romantic getaway to Mexico appears to be the perfect destination for the pair as he loves to surf and she is very fond of swimming.

Over the years, they’ve shown support for each other professionally, with Johnson appearing at Martin’s gigs, and him at her premieres.

In June 2023, the vocalist even serenaded his girlfriend at his band’s visit to Naples. 

They have even worked together once, with Dakota the director of Coldplay’s 2020 music video for the song Cry Cry Cry.

Previously, the actress has spoken about working hard to keep their relationship out of the spotlight. 

She explained that her focus on privacy in the relationship comes from a combination of reasons.

One of those is that her and Chris’ is a blended family, and that means her family’s privacy impacts more than just herself and Chris. 

The couple’s privacy also affects the singer’s children from his marriage to Paltrow – daughter Apple, and son Moses.

Another reason she cited was that she is herself the daughter of two celebrity parents – Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith – so knows what it is like to grow up in the spotlight.

The actress, one of seven half siblings, said: ‘Maybe I think about relationships like that differently because I grew up in my family.

‘Obviously, there were times where it was not cool, but I experienced that, so I don’t want that in my life. I don’t want any kids to experience anything like that.’

In October 2018, TMZ reported that Martin and Johnson were throwing a gender reveal party at his home. 

The suspicion was fuelled by photos of blue and pink balloon arches, but shortly after, Johnson’s rep denied the rumours to Us Weekly.

They clarified that the celebrations were for a birthday party and not a gender reveal, with Dakota saying on Ellen the following month that ‘the only thing I’m pregnant with is a lot of really good ideas. But not any babies.’

They do not currently have any children together.  

The pair’s latest sighting comes after Johnson revealed she had not yet seen Madame Webb, despite playing the title character. 

‘I don’t know when I’ll see it,’ she said during an interview with Magic FM. ‘Someday.’ 

After humorously recalling skipping the Madame Web premiere to ‘go have dinner’ instead, Dakota insisted her decision had nothing to do with the film itself.  

‘For me, it’s a way to not have, like, an existential crisis,’ she admitted. ‘Not watching my movies is like self-care.’

The Fifty Shades of Grey star also confessed she never ‘Googles’ herself. 

Madame Web debuted with an incredibly low 17 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Critics called the film ‘as dumb and schlocky as the worst of the genre’ and ‘a laughable affair.’

X, formerly known as Twitter, was flooded with negative comments about it, with one person calling the film ‘a series of misses and wasted opportunities.’

Another describing it as ‘a clunky, poorly-written, messy, and sloppy movie packed with some mediocre editing and performances.’

A different user simply wrote, ‘Morbius was better.’

Sony’s Morbius, which was released in 2022 and starred Jared Leto, is known for being one of the most poorly reviewed superhero films of all time, with a low rating of 15 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes.

A few people, however, praised Madame Web online following the premiere.

‘Madame Web exceeds expectations. Some of the dialog is cheesy AF, some heavy-handed product placement, and probably could’ve been tidied up a bit more – but the cast really work magic with what they had, their chemistry is a lot of fun, and the suits look great,’ one reviewer wrote on X afterwards.

In Madame Web, Dakota takes on the role of Cassandra Webb, a New York City paramedic endowed with psychic abilities due to a mutant gene, akin to the concept of X-Men.

Her character faces the task of safeguarding three women from an enigmatic adversary.

The film belongs to Sony’s Spider-Man universe, distinctly separate from the Disney-owned Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This movie could potentially be one of the last collaborations between Sony and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following Disney’s acquisition of Marvel.

Paloma Faith calls her divorce from ex Leyman Lahcine 'the worst thing that happened to me'.

The 42-year-old singer stars on The Jonathan Ross Show this week and talks candidly about the therapeutic process of writing her most personal album to date.

“They're all personal, but the worst thing that happened to me happened and I wrote an album about it,” she explained of her upcoming sixth record The Glorification of Sadness.

“It describes the stages of grief I went through when I was with my partner and father of my two children for ten years,” she added.

Paloma married French artist Leyman, 36, in 2017 before confirming their split in 2022 after nine years together.

Speaking about her relationship with her ex-partner now, Paloma revealed: 'We are really good. We're doing really well and I think it's as good as it can get.”

“I don't pretend to be like Gwyeth Paltrow, I don't consciously disconnect. Sometimes it's horrible, but we're navigating it and I think we're doing a lot better than some married couples.”

“My observation is that the reason our relationship is so good now is because I don't expect anything from him and vice versa.”

The singer and actress, 42, appeared on the How to Fail with Elizabeth Day podcast this week, where she revealed she suffered a miscarriage on the set of 2019 drama Pennyworth, in which she plays sociopath Bet Sykes.

She explained that while filming a fight scene she realized she was having a miscarriage, but insisted on continuing filming for fear of losing her job, saying, “I would just go home with no job and no viable pregnancy.'

The star, who shares two children with Leyman, also shared that she suffered a traumatic ectopic pregnancy after undergoing IVF treatment, where the ectopic pregnancy damaged a fallopian tube and affected her fertility.

She continued: 'I then had an ectopic pregnancy with the first and then my fertility started to decline because one tube was damaged. The second time worked, so I was lucky because I actually had two viable pregnancies quite quickly.”

On keeping her miscarriage a secret at work, Paloma said: '[The miscarriage] started at work and it was a fight scene at Pennyworth. I thought to myself, it's gone, so I might as well continue what I was doing. I had to go to the toilet 9 times…

“I told them I ate something bad last night because I knew they would escort me home if I told them. I did not want to. I would just go home with no work and no viable pregnancy.”

Nowadays you no longer have to go under the knife to get a youthful appearance.

In recent years, the advent of 'tweakments' – small procedures that transform your face without downtime or eye-watering costs – has revolutionized the aesthetic industry, popular with celebrities and high-profile figures.

But now one of America's leading plastic surgeons has warned that the risks of these procedures are all too often underestimated.

They are not necessarily safer than the surgical equivalent, and can even be more dangerous, leading to permanent facial disfigurement.

Here, plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn, a favorite on TikTok and on TV shows like Today, Good Morning America and Fox News, has outlined his beauty blacklist – the treatments he would never recommend.

Some are dangerous, while others are simply a waste of money because they make no difference.

In his new book Younger for life, he says, “Unfortunately, doctors perform them every day in their offices and ORs, but I would like my readers to be educated on what to avoid. Buyer beware!'

1. Fillers made with something other than hyaluronic acid

More than 2.6 million Americans receive injectable fillers in their faces every year; designed to add volume to areas such as the lips and cheeks, and smooth out imperfections and lines in the nose.

Most are made with hyaluronic acid – an ingredient that occurs naturally in the body and is a major component of the skin's structure that is generally considered safe.

But Dr. Youn says that fillers commonly used today contain chemicals other than hyaluronic acid, some of which can be dangerous because they do not dissolve easily.

“The most feared complication of injectable fillers is intravascular occlusion,” says Dr. Youn.

'This is when the filler is accidentally injected into a blood vessel, especially an artery, causing that artery to become blocked.

'Any tissue supplied with blood by that artery can become ischemic, where there is not enough blood flow to survive. In that situation, the area can literally turn black and the tissue dies.'

It is a rare, but horrific, complication that has, in some cases, caused people to lose parts of their lips and noses and even become blind.

“Hyaluronic acid fillers have a natural antidote, an enzyme called hyaluronidase,” he explains.

'This enzyme can dissolve HA filler in just a handful of seconds.

'If you develop an intravascular occlusion, blood flow can be restored by dissolving the HA filler.

'If the filler is not HA filler, there is no antidote and you can just get screwed.'

2. Thread lifts

Thread lifts are marketed as a quick way to achieve the same age-delaying results as a full facelift.

The procedure involves lifting sagging, aging skin using temporary sutures, which tighten the face.

Although thread lifts are not “inherently dangerous,” according to Dr. Youn, they can be a complete waste of money.

The results are short-lived and last only six to twelve months.

“I don't believe they are inherently dangerous, but they are extremely expensive for what you get,” he says.

Dr. Youn adds, “Doctors who perform this procedure should be honest and forthright with you [about the results]but I fear many are not.'

When it comes to value for money, it is better to go for a real facelift, which has proven results and a much longer lifespan.

3. 'Facelifts during lunch'

Don't fall for this false marketing gimmick, Dr. Youn warns.

'The term is most commonly used to describe a mini lift that is performed surgically, often under local anesthesia. Scars are made around the ears and a small amount of skin is removed, sometimes with some muscle tightening and liposuction.

'Some doctors advertise them as revolutionary, less invasive surgeries to fool people into having them performed. In reality, they are just smaller versions of what most real plastic surgeons do, with a smaller result and yet often scars of the same length.'

Some people report a small improvement, but overall these rarely result in a noticeable change. Once again, there are no shortcuts and this is another occasion where only a proper facelift will do.

4. Mesotherapy

Also known as 'biorejuvenation', this treatment essentially consists of injections of various substances, including plant extracts and multivitamins, which are said to improve the appearance of the skin.

Stars like Gwyneth Paltrow, Katy Perry, Cara Delevingne, Jennifer Aniston and Rihanna are all fans of the procedure. Some who offer it claim it can also melt fat.

But Dr. Youn describes the ingredients in the injections as “a witch's brew cocktail of various corrosive substances.”

He continues: 'Each doctor injects different amounts of these different substances.'

However, the risks include lumpiness, granulomas (inflammatory nodules), infection, and skin necrosis (tissue death).

In the worst case? 'Your skin is a lumpy mess with draining sinus tracts and oozing infections.

'The only injection proven to be safe to melt fat is Kybella. Everything else, be wary of the risks.”

5. Carboxytherapy

'In this treatment, a doctor injects carbon dioxide through a needle under the skin of the face, eyelids or other areas. The belief is that the CO2 causes the body to deliver more oxygen to the area, improving its appearance,” says Dr. Youn.

People have claimed all kinds of benefits, including reducing under-eye bags, tightening skin, improving cellulite and getting rid of wrinkles — all of which are completely unproven, says Dr. Youn.

'Although the procedure appears safe, there is absolutely no scientific evidence to show that it works or does anything other than make your wallet smaller.'

6. Lip implants

'Lip implants can be made from different materials, ranging from silicone rubber to silicone filled with saline to even cadaver skin. However, they all give the same result: stiff lips.'

The lips, he says, are among the softest tissues in the body, and no implant has ever been able to consistently pass the Kiss test — when you pucker up and it feels like the real thing.

'It feels like kissing a spare tire. The best ways to accentuate the lips are injectable fillers, fat injections or the Botox lip flip.' The latter is when Botox is injected just above the upper lip, which relaxes the muscles and makes the lip appear fuller.

He points to Real Housewives star Lisa Rinna, who admitted to having lip implants long ago before having them removed.

And adds, “Although it's not confirmed, I think Meg Ryan may also have had lip implants done (I'm not her doctor).”

8. Hyaluronic pen

This at-home lip augmentation device could be the fastest way to get rid of lumpy or scarred lips, doctor warns.

'The hyaluron pen is a portable device that uses compressed air to push medicines, such as lip fillers, into the body.'

'The problem is that it's not very precise in terms of placement, because it's propelling this substance with a burst of compressed air. Additionally, you have no control over how deep the filler goes, which can cause lumpy lips in some cases, and intravascular occlusion and a dead lip in others.”

It made for a glamorous change to the usual perp walk outside Brooklyn Federal Court.

The founder and CEO of 'orgasmic meditation cult' OneTaste dressed to impress as they appeared with an entourage of supporters after it was accused of forcing women into sex acts and keeping them in 'residential warehouses'.

But there were no dirty photos for Nicole Daedone and Anjuli Ayer as they faced photographers outside the New York courthouse.

Their San Francisco-based company made $12 million a year from their sexual dysfunction treatments for women, including genital massage by a man wearing a latex glove.

It received praise from celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Khloe Kardashian, and welcomed 35,000 people to its events in 2018.

But the FBI began investigating in November that year after former clients came forward to say they were in debt after paying for expensive classes, and former employees said they had been instructed to have sex with potential investors.

Former employee Ayries Blanck filed a lawsuit against the company in August 2015, claiming they subjected her to a “hostile work environment, sexual harassment, failure to pay minimum wage and intentional infliction of emotional distress.”

But she was sued by the group for violating a non-disclosure agreement when she contributed to the 2022 Netflix documentary Orgasm Inc: The Story of OneTaste.

Blanck's sister Autymn repeated accusations that OneTaste “tolerated violence” and “found strangers to rape her.”

Prosecutors say Daedone and former CEO Rachel Cherwitz used a series of abusive and manipulative tactics against volunteers, contractors and employees.

They also allege that the duo has made OneTaste members dependent on the group for their shelter and basic needs and limited their independence and control.

The company operated in 39 cities, including New York, San Francisco, Denver, Las Vegas, Boulder, Los Angeles, Austin and London, but some former clients claimed they were “raped” after becoming involved with the company, one of whom the BBC said she was attacked by a man called 'Jake'.

The company closed all of its U.S. locations and halted all in-person classes in 2018, and Ayer, who succeeded Cherwitz as CEO in 2017, is not facing charges.

But she told Dailymail.com last year that the allegations are “completely false,” and that consent is the “first thing they teach.”

“I did not expect a five-year media campaign of negative accusations against us,” she added.

“You take women and you take sexuality and then you combine it with some people who are upset in some way and want to tell lies.”

“This isn't Nicole and Rachel who have been charged, this is Eros who has been charged. And this is in a sense, even among the people in the courtroom, a conversation between women.

Daedone and Cherwitz have both pleaded not guilty to the charges and are free on $1 million and $300,000 bonds respectively, but they face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

The company has already spent $15 million on legal fees and a judge at today's hearing scheduled the trial to start in January next year.
