Harper Collins has already slashed the price of Meghan Markle’s friend Omid Scobie’s new book about the British monarchy – weeks before it goes on sale.

Endgame, which aims to give readers a glimpse into ‘the royal family and the monarchy’s struggle for survival’, has already been reduced in price on the official website.

The book was originally going to cost $32, but is now $25.60.

This is despite the fact that it is only on pre-order and won’t hit the shelves until November 28.

Endgame is described as an “explosive book and a penetrating examination of the current state of the British monarchy – an unpopular king, a power-hungry heir to the throne, a queen willing to go to any lengths to maintain her image, and a Prince. forced to start a new life after being betrayed by his own family.’

Omid Scobie, the author, also wrote Finding Freedom – about the departure of his girlfriend Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry from the royal family.

The description of the $25.60 book explains: “The death of Queen Elizabeth II has torn the already broken foundations of the House of Windsor and dismantled the protective shield around it.

‘With an institution long plagued by outdated ideas around race, class and money, the monarchy and those who support it are now exposed and at odds with a rapidly modernizing world.

One chapter of the book will be called ‘Race and the Royals: Institutional Bigotry and Denial’ and is likely to address claims of racism within the institution.

It comes as the royal family faces new claims from Harry and Meghan’s biographer Scobie, just hours after the Duke of Sussex reportedly had a “warm” phone call with King Charles to mark his 75th birthday.

The Duke of Sussex is believed to have called his father on his special day yesterday to wish him a happy birthday – a phone call believed to be the estranged royal’s first in six months.

Meghan Markle is also said to have spoken to her father-in-law to pass on her wishes from California. And the couple’s children, Archie and Lilibet, recorded a video singing “Happy Birthday” to their grandfather, the Telegraph newspaper reported.

The report claimed that Charles and Harry will speak again next week after their phone call marked a ‘shift’ in tone and a ‘turning point’ between the pair.

But now Mr Scobie has shared an extract from his new book, Endgame, leaking explosive claims including that Prince Harry was ‘kept in the dark’ about the Queen’s health in the hours before she died.

Mr Scobie, who previously released a biography of the Sussexes titled ‘Finding Freedom’, said Harry, 39, and his 42-year-old wife Meghan had ‘no idea’ the royal family was preparing for the death of the couple. queen last year.

The author also suggests that William and Harry’s relationship is beyond repair, as the Prince of Wales sees his brother as a ‘turncoat’.

And in the extract shared with People, he claims there is ‘no turning back’ for the brothers and ‘absolutely nothing has changed’ since the Duke of Sussex released Spare earlier this year.

It is not known how the new book could influence the rapprochement. Buckingham Palace has declined to comment on the extract.
