Lexus India offers a range of eco-friendly, self-charging electric vehicles.

Bharat Mobility Fair 2024: Lexus India has enthralled its audience at the first-of-its-kind global mobility expo in the country, the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024. The mega car show aimed at unlocking a host of opportunities for the world and India, is all set to co-create and transforming the future of the automotive industry.

Centered around the show's theme 'Grow India – Grow with India', Lexus showcased its most popular model in the Indian range, the traditional self-charging hybrid electric model, the Lexus ES 300h, which boasts a 'Made in India' tag and the all-electric luxury crossover, the Lexus UX 300e.

The Lexus ES 300h, the most popular model in the Lexus India portfolio, is a self-charging hybrid electric vehicle that seamlessly combines electric power with a robust engine, offering an eco-friendly and fuel-efficient ride with overall comfort at the forefront. The hybrid electric system monitors driving conditions and coordinates both power sources in an understandably impeccable manner. The innovative self-charging hybrid system improves fuel efficiency by allowing the electric powertrain to operate for more than 60% of the driving time. This groundbreaking self-charging hybrid technology eliminates charging-related issues as the car charges while driving or braking. In addition, the hybrid powertrain contributes to a quiet driving experience, further increasing the overall driving pleasure.

Assembled in India, the only market after Lexus Japan where Lexus vehicles are assembled in Asia, the Lexus ES 300h is meticulously crafted by a dedicated team specially trained under the guidance of the Lexus Takumi master.

Lexus focuses on hybrid powertrains that bridge the gap between battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, contributing to a clean and sustainable environment, without sacrificing performance and ride quality.

The Lexus pillars of performance and electrification are intertwined in the latest newcomer, the Lexus RX 500h F-Sports Performance, a performance model with a hybrid powertrain. The Lexus RX 500h F-Sports Performance is poised to break the myth that hybrid vehicles cannot match the power and performance of the conventional ICE car.

A notable improvement to Lexus ownership is the eight-year extension of the hybrid battery warranty, the longest warranty offered in the luxury segment, covering not only the first owner, but all subsequent owners as well.

Lexus India offers a range of eco-friendly self-charging electric vehicles including the 'Made in India' Lexus ES 300h, Lexus NX 350h, Lexus LC 500h, Lexus LS 500h, and the latest entrants, the Lexus RX 350h and the Lexus RX 500h F -Sports achievements.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence that India will become the world's third largest economy during the third term of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed confidence that India will become the world's third largest economy during his next term. Speaking at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, the Prime Minister highlighted the achievements of the BJP-led NDA government in the last decade.

“It is certain that India will become the third largest economy in the world during our third term. During the last decade, around 25 crore people have come out of poverty due to the government's efforts. Today's India is moving forward with the aim of making the country 'developed' by 2047. The mobility sector will play a major role in achieving this goal,” Prime Minister Modi said.

The economy is expanding at a rapid pace

In his address at the fair, Prime Minister Modi said that the country's economy is expanding at a rapid pace and said that the current era is the golden age for the mobility sector.

“I've always said this is the right time. This mantra fits well with the mobility sector. India is on the moon and moving fast. This is the beginning of the golden era for the mobility sector. Today, the country's economy is growing rapidly,” Modi said.

Prime Minister Modi also highlighted the middle class as 'new middle class', which has its own aspirations and hopes. He said: “A new middle class has emerged in the country with its own ambitions and hopes. The income and threshold of the middle class have increased. These factors will drive new heights in the mobility sector. Before 2014, 12 crore cars were sold in India. More than 21 crore cars have been sold since 2014.”

Before 2014 vs. After 2014

Prime Minister Modi noted the development witnessed by the country after the formation of his government at the Center in 2014.

“Before 2014, 2,000 crore electric cars were sold annually. Now around 12 lakh electric cars are sold annually. India has witnessed a 60 percent increase in passenger car sales. The sales of two-wheelers have also increased by 70%.”

Modi further said, “There has been an unprecedented change in the mobility sector. Today's India relies on new policies keeping in mind the future scenario. This vision is also reflected in the interim budget. But after the formation of a new government, we will present the full budget.”

The Bharat Mobility Global Expo showcases India's talents across the mobility and automotive value chain. In addition to public-facing attractions such as karting, the Expo will include exhibitions, conferences, buyer-seller meetings, state sessions and a road safety pavilion.

Australia’s most notorious party boy, Corey Worthington, struck a defiant tone outside court as he railed against the media after avoiding conviction for punching a man on a mobility scooter.

Worthington, 32, who was missing his iconic yellow sunglasses and sporting a new haircut, appeared in the Geelong Magistrates’ Court on Monday, where he escaped a conviction for assault and battery.

Worthington also confronted TV reporters outside the court and filmed the interactions live on his Instagram.

Outside court he reacted angrily when asked if he regretted his actions. He said: ‘the attack happened, simple’.

“I did something wrong, but I ask you… if someone touched the mother of your child, what would you do?” he asked.

‘When you are in that time and that moment, what is decided at that moment; never mind.

“I left it to the court to decide, and the court has decided. They gave me a no-conviction today.”

The court was told Worthington had successfully completed an anger management course after pleading guilty to two charges of unlawful assault and criminal damage in June.

The charge related to an incident in January in which Worthington attacked a man in his 50s who was riding a disabled scooter and damaged the windscreen of a car.

The court heard he told police at the time that the man had allegedly attacked his partner.

During the brief hearing, his lawyer presented a letter to Magistrate John Bentley detailing Worthington’s participation and completion of the course.

He was given a 12-month good behavior bond without conviction by Mr Bentley, who lamented the media interest in the case.

“Okay Corey, you did everything I asked of you,” he said.

“It’s a bit of a shame that there is a media circus here today.”

Worthington spoke only once, so to speak; “yes, Your Honor,” when asked if he would agree to a good conduct bond.

“Sign this bond and stay out of trouble, that will be the end of it,” Mr. Bentley said.

“Merry Christmas and stay out of trouble.”

After his appearance, Worthington confronted reporters, including Channel 9 reporter Amber Johnston, outside court, claiming the media didn’t like it when “it was on the other side.”

He filmed the heated interactions and posted them to his Instagram.

“These are the media filming me and I’m just doing my right by filming them back,” he said.

‘My teachers were attacked and I went to court to pay my fees and literally they just filmed me, they didn’t leave me alone.’

Worthington rose to national fame at the age of 16 after hosting a huge party at his parents’ home in January 2008.

The party gained international media attention after his neighborhood was vandalized and he refused to take off his sunglasses during A Current Affair.

“At first it was just a get-together with friends and we thought we might as well make it a party, but then it got a bit out of hand,” he said at the time.

“I can’t exactly be blamed for what happened because it wasn’t in the house, it was in the street… I’ll say sorry, but I won’t take off my glasses.”

Worthington disappeared for several years after the incident, but returned to the media with a surprise appearance on Nine’s Ninja Warrior.

The Duke of Kent has missed today’s Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph due to ‘episodic mobility problems’.

The late Queen’s 88-year-old cousin was also reportedly forced to pull out of the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall yesterday due to health concerns.

Sources said the Duke, Prince Edward, had ‘no choice’ but not to attend this weekend’s services The sun.

They added that it was ‘always’ the plan for his equerry, Captain George Hopkins of the Scots Guards, to place a wreath at the Cenotaph this morning.

The Duke’s absence has raised fresh concerns about his well-being, just days after he celebrated his 88th birthday on November 9.

While he may not be as well known as his late cousin and Senior Royal counterparts, the Duke of Kent certainly has a career worth mentioning.

An army veteran, daredevil driver and tennis enthusiast, the Duke is certainly versatile and continues to amaze royal watchers even to this day.

The duke was born in 1935 in his parents’ first home in Belgravia, London, and was named after Prince George’s older brother Edward, the future king.

His father was the younger brother of both King George and the former King Edward VIII, while his mother, Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark, was the niece of the Duke of Edinburgh’s father, Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark.

Present at his christening at Buckingham Palace were nine-year-old Princess Elizabeth, his cousin, as well as King George V and Queen Mary – his godparents – and the then Prince of Wales.

In his role as president of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club from 1969, the Duke became a familiar face on television every year when he presented trophies to champion and runner-up at Wimbledon.

His involvement in the top tennis event did not end until 2021, when he stepped down as president after more than five decades.

Unlike his younger brother, Prince Michael of Kent, the duke has largely stayed out of controversy. Above: Prince Edward and Prince Michael arrive for the Queen's funeral

The Duke has also represented the monarch on numerous trips abroad and was vice-chairman of the Overseas Trade Board and later of British Trade International from 1976 to 2001.

His close relationship with the Queen was typified in May 2021, when he stepped in as her ‘plus one’ at Trooping the Colour, following Prince Philip’s death the month before.

This was followed by his appearance at the Queen’s side at her Platinum Jubilee celebrations last year.

In his book, the Duke’s warm words about the Queen summarize the devotion to duty that characterizes him.

Choosing words that few could disagree with, he said, “I always felt like I wanted to support her. That is by far the most important thing in life.’

The 88-year-old was among those who walked behind Elizabeth II’s coffin as it was carried to Westminster Abbey.

The solemn journey showcased his decades of loyal service 70 years after he performed the same duty at the funeral of his uncle, King George VI, the Queen’s father.
