HOLLYWOOD stars are rarely seen without make-up, especially when sharing memorable moments online.

According to a psychologist, Selena Gomez has started stripping back her appearance and going makeup-free because she has found love.

Selena, 31, shared a montage Instagram on Friday in honor of her boyfriend Benny Blanco’s 36th birthday.

A clip at the end showed the pair kissing in the dark.

In February, Selena shared another photo sitting on the edge of an unmade bed.

The Rare Beauty founder was makeup-free. She wore jeans and a white tank top, which showed off her natural new bob.

Psychologist Jo Hemmings said The Only Murders in the Building actress’ self-esteem was better.

Selena has reaffirmed her focus on body positivity alongside her new relationship.

“Selena looks happier while embracing her curves and new relationship,” Hemmings told The US Sun.

“One of the images of her with Benny is suggestive. This shows that she is deeply in love.

“With Benny she no longer has to worry about her weight or wearing make-up.

“Benny loves her for who she is, so she feels more liberated.

“Selena’s self-esteem and physical and mental health issues are much better.”

Selena, who has dated Justin Bieber and The Weeknd, went public with the dark-skinned songwriter in December 2023.

She has since posted photos of the couple in bed.
“My bes fwend,” she wrote one Instagram after.

“They even talk baby talk to each other on Instagram,” Hemmings said.

“This is a bit lame. It does indicate a great deal of trust in each other.

“Previously she said she didn’t know who she could trust.”

In January, Selena also told fans that she would “never” be skinny again.

She posted a throwback photo of herself in a zebra bikini from 2013, when she was 21.

“Today I realized I will never look like this again,” she captioned the post.

The throwback followed a recent vacation in San Cabo, where she was seen climbing onto a yacht.

Selena was diagnosed with Lupus in 2015 and her world changed forever.

She continued to struggle with depression and anxiety. The medication affected her weight.

Selena received a kidney transplant in 2017 and took a break from performing.

Selena said she had no plans to watch the movie.

Hemmings suggested the former Disney star needed to heal.

“She was in a dark place before and when she made her documentary,” she said.

‘Now she has started to heal.

“Selena not only suffered from physical health problems due to lupus, but she also had psychotic episodes.

‘She even thought about committing suicide.

“It is not uncommon for people who have recovered from a physical and mental state of distress to find it challenging to watch videos of themselves.

Regardless, Selena built up her confidence. Meeting and falling in love with Benny accelerated that process.

“This would have been what they felt at their worst.

“There is a partial denial that they were ever like this and a concern that this could ever happen to them.

“Maybe there is a lingering fear that it could all happen again.

“But if you suffered the same way they did, full recovery is never set in stone.

‘There will be memories and the fear that it could happen again.

“But now we can see that there is light in her where there was once darkness.”

Selena seems to be rebuilding her confidence, Hemmings added, but needs to be careful with her new relationship.

“Selena built her confidence no matter what,” she said.

“Meeting and falling in love with Benny accelerated that process.

“However, Selena and Benny should never take their situation for granted.

“They always have to make an effort for each other.

“Selena and Benny have to respect each other.

“They must support each other unconditionally in difficult times.”
