Emma Stone and Yorgos Lanthimos already have a third film together in the making.

Following the critical acclaim of their feature films The Favorite (2018) and Poor Things (2023), for which she earned her second Best Actress Oscar on Sunday, Searchlight Pictures announced that the pair will have an anthology film in theaters on June 21.

While the plot of their upcoming project is being kept under wraps, the film, directed by Lanthimos, will star Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie and Hunter Schafer.

At the Golden Globes, he said Deadline That Kinds of Kindness consists of ‘three contemporary stories, and there is a core of actors – seven in total – who play one character in each story.’

“So they’ll be playing three different characters,” he told the outlet in January.

Poor Things grossed an impressive $108.7 million worldwide and earned four Academy Awards, including Best Actress for Stone’s performance as Bella Baxter, Makeup and Hair Styling, Costume Design and Production Design.

Meanwhile, The Favorite took home $95 million worldwide and Olivia Colman scored her Oscar for Best Actress.

While accepting her award this weekend, Stone admitted that she recently started to “freak out” when thinking about the possibility of receiving the honor.

‘Yorgos [Lanthimos] said to me, please get yourself out of it,” Stone told viewers. “And he was right, because it’s not about me. It’s about a team that came together to create something greater than the sum of its parts.”

She also thanked Lanthimos for giving her “the gift of a lifetime” in starring “in Bella Baxter.”

Last year, during an interview with Stone, Lanthimos revealed why he enjoyed working with Stone Entertainment weekly.

‘Besides she’s a great actress, [Emma] is a very unique presence overall,” he told the outlet. “And as soon as I told her the story, she was immediately excited and just wanted to know everything about the world and read the script.”

He continued, “I started discussing who else would work on it, how we were going to film it, just like other actors. She just became very fascinated by every aspect of the film.”

“So that’s how she became a producer on the film too, because she was there so early and involved in every aspect of it that it was inevitable that she took on that role as well,” he added.

The Scottsdale native’s latest win at the Oscars came seven years after he took home the leading actress Oscar award for La La Land.

She was also previously nominated in the supporting actress category for Birdman (2014) and The Favorite (2018).

Throughout her career, the actress, one of the highest-paid actresses in the world, has also earned two British Academy Film Awards, two Golden Globe Awards and several accolades.

Originally from Athens, Greece, Lanthimos has received a British Academy Film Award and a Golden Globe Award for his work, as well as six Oscar nominations.

His films include The Lobster (2015), My Best Friend (2001), Kinetta (2005) and Dogtooth (2009).

The 96th Academy Awards will air live beginning at 7 p.m. ET on Sunday.

The Oscars honors the best films of 2023 – with the glittering ceremony held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

The most hotly anticipated movies of the past year – Barbie and Oppenheimer – lead the nominations.

Oppenheimer has bagged 13 nods, including best picture and best actor for Cillian Murphy – who is favorite to win the major category after scooping a BAFTA, a Golden Globe and SAG award for his role as physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer.

The impressive total – which also includes best supporting actor and actress for Robert Downey Jr. and Emily Blunt, as well as best director for Christopher Nolan – is just one nomination short of the all-time record set by Titanic in 1998.

Last year’s other smash hit movie – Barbie – was nominated for eight awards, but also fell victim to notable snubs from the Academy.

Christopher Nolan's historical epic Oppenheimer leads the Oscar nominations with a whopping 13 nods including Best Actor, Best Director and Best Picture - can it beat the record off 11 wins in one night?

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer was nominated for best director and a host of other awards

What Was I Made For and I’m Just Ken from Barbie received their expected nominations for best original song

Its star Margot Robbie was not nominated for best actress, while Greta Gerwig was not nominated for best director.

Another surprise saw America Ferrera nominated for best supporting actress over her role in Barbie, with pundits saying her character’s impassioned speech on feminism had sealed the deal.

Barbie’s other nominations include best picture, best supporting actor for Ryan Gosling and two nods for best song – including Gosling’s famed ‘I’m Just Ken.’

The second most-nominated movie was Poor Things, a graphic art house movie starring Emma Stone that has wowed critics but so-far failed to set the box office alight.

Stone plays a sex-crazed young woman, with her performance wowing critics. She previously won best actress in 2017 for her performance in La La Land.

For best actor in leading role Bradley Cooper and Cillian Murphy are set to duke it out for the award. Colman Domingo, Paul Giamatti and Jeffrey Wright received nominations as well.

Leonardo DiCaprio was not recognized for his acting on Killers Of The Flower Moon.

Lily Gladstone is the first Native American nominated for best actress, for her performance in Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon

Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things took home 11 Oscar nominations and Killers of the Flower Moon landed 10.

Annette Bening, Lily Gladstone, Sandra Huller, Carey Mulligan and Emma Stone have been nominated for best actress in a leading role.

Gladstone is the first Native American nominated for best actress, for her performance in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon – and is the favorite in the category thanks to her wins at the Golden Globes and SAG Awards,

What Was I Made For by Billie Eilish and I’m Just Ken performed by Ryan Gosling from Barbie received their expected nominations for best original song.

Sterling K. Brown, Robert De Niro, Robert Downey Jr., Ryan Gosling and Mark Ruffalo received nominations for best actor in a supporting role.

Emily Blunt, Danielle Brooks, America Ferrera, Jodie Foster and Da’Vine Joy Randolph received nominations for best actress in a supporting role.

Joy already has  Golden Globe, Bafta, Critics Choice and Screen Actors Guild awards and is favorite for an Oscar for her performance as a bereaved cook in The Holdovers.

Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer were nominated for best directing, snubbing Greta Gerwig’s Barbie.

Gerwig was nominated for best director in 2018 for her solo directorial debut, Lady Bird. Only three women have won Oscars for best director – Kathryn Bigelow, Chloe Zhao and Jane Campion.

Though Nolan is regarded as the big-budget auteur of his era, he’s never won an Academy Award, nor have any of his films won best picture.

Bradley Cooper was not nominated for directing Maestro but he was recognized for his acting in that bio movie.

American Fiction, Anatomy of a Fall, Barbie, The Holdovers, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Oppenheimer, Past Lives, Poor Things and The Zone of Interest landed best picture nominations.

The 96th Academy Awards will be held on March 10 at 7 pm ET/4pm PT live on ABC, hosted for a fourth time by Jimmy Kimmel.

Stone opened her acceptance speech by thanking her fellow Best Actress nominees. “This is really overwhelming. My voice is also a bit gone. Whatever. The women in this category, you are all incredible. Sandra, Annette, Carey, Lily, I’m sharing this with you,” she said as she looked at Gladstone, who was also a frontrunner for the evening. “I am deeply honored to share this with every cast member, everyone who put their love into making this film. Thank you for the gift of a lifetime in Bella Baxter.”

Stone also took a moment to thank her family, including husband Dave McCary and daughter Louise Jean – for being her support system over the years.

“My mom, my brother Spencer, my dad, my husband, I love you so much,” she said through tears. “And most importantly: my daughter, who will be three in three days and has given our lives a technical color. I love you bigger than the whole sky, my girl.

She’s been nominated for a Tony Award, is an alumna of the Yale School of Drama and had her big screen break starring opposite Eddie Murphy in the Netflix film Dolemite Is My Name… yet Da’Vine Joy Randolph is hardly a household name.

However, that will likely change starting today after the 37-year-old Philadelphia-born actress won Best Supporting Actress at the 96th annual Academy Awards on Sunday.

She’s been working in the industry for more than a decade, but Da’Vine is now the toast of Hollywood for her turn as grieving chef Mary Lamb in boarding school drama The Holdovers, in which co-star Paul Giamatti plays grumpy teacher Paul Hunham.

The actress – who beat Oppenheimer’s Emily Blunt and Barbie’s America Ferrera to her gong – has proven unbeatable this awards season after big wins at the Screen Actors Guild, Golden Globes, BAFTA and Critics’ Choice Awards.

But performing as an actor on stage and screen was never a lifelong dream for Da’Vine, who trained as an opera singer before her mother urged her to take acting lessons.

Da’Vine Joy Randolph (pictured) was named Best Supporting Actress at the 96th annual Academy Awards on Sunday

“I didn’t think I should do this as a career. I started out as a singer,” a tearful Randolph told the crowd at the Dolby Theater.

“And my mother said to me, ‘Go across that street to that theater department.’ There’s something for you.’ And I thank my mother for that.

“I thank all the people who have come my way and guided and guided me. I’m so grateful for all you beautiful people there.’

Da’Vine was born on May 21, 1986. As a youth, she attended the prestigious Interlochen summer arts camp in Michigan for theater.

At Temple University in Philadelphia, she initially focused on classical music and opera performance before switching to a musical theater major.

She refined those skills at the Yale School of Drama, where she received her master’s degree.

A year later, Da’Vine turned heads on Broadway and received a 2012 Tony nomination for her portrayal of psychic Oda Mae Brown in “Ghost: The Musical.”

She made her big screen debut in 2013 in “Mother of George,” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and starred Danai Gurira.

On television, she appeared in the cult favorite “Selfie” and guest-starred on several shows, including “The Good Wife,” “Veep,” “This Is Us” and the musical drama “Empire.”

Da’Vine’s film breakthrough came in the well-received 2019 Netflix film “Dolemite Is My Name,” starring Eddie Murphy.

Voice work in several animated films followed, along with appearances in ‘The United States vs. Billie Holiday” opposite Andra Day, and “The Lost City” starring Sandra Bullock.

On television, she scored recurring roles on “High Fidelity” and “Only Murders in the Building.”

And then director and screenwriter Alexander Payne called about The Holdovers. I find that actors who are skilled in comedy can play dramatic roles without being somber about it,” Alexander told USA Today. “She can laugh a lot and also make you cry.”

Da’Vine also appeared in another Oscar-nominated film last year, “Rustin,” starring Colman Domingo, in which she played gospel singer Mahalia Jackson, who sang at the March on Washington.

Upcoming projects include the action thriller “Shadow Force” starring Kerry Washington and Omar Sy, and the action comedy “Bride Hard” starring Rebel Wilson.

“I’m very grateful for people’s appreciation of my talent, but in no way have I shown my potential,” she told The New York Times ahead of the Oscars. “I’m now starting to have a growing platform to do this. Let’s do it!’

She was all along favored to win Best Supporting Actress for The Holdovers, but she brought many to tears with a moving speech about her path to victory.

“I always wanted to be different for so long,” Da’Vine said. “And now I realize that I just have to be myself.”

Thanking a mentor, she said, “When I was the only black girl in class, you saw me and told me I was enough.”

And she thanked her publicist and said she knew that was unusual “but you don’t have a publicist like I have a publicist!” Da’Vine added near the end, “I pray to God I can do this more than once.”

Da’Vine’s tears first began to flow as she sat in her seat as Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o stood on stage and paid tribute to the actress. Lupita spoke about the amazing performance of Da’Vine, who wore her grandmother’s glasses in the film.

“What an honor to see the world through her eyes and yours,” Lupita said.

Along with her grandmother’s glasses, Da’Vine said she used other accessories in the film as a “love letter to black women.”

‘I knew this would be a difficult role. It would take a lot of vulnerability on my part,” she said.

“I knew that (my grandmother) was someone in my life who would allow me to return to my center. But it was a lot of other women.

‘I did a lot of research and some subliminal messages with hairstyles, details and accessories beyond the glasses, paying tribute to women – from (American sitcom) The Jeffersons, (American singer and actress) Phyllis Hyman, things like that.

“So I included all these women who were ‘impressed’ by me… and that meant a lot because it felt like a love letter to black women.”

Her The Holdovers character Mary is one of the few black faces on the New England campus, where the film is set in the 1970s.

She mourns her son, one of the school’s few black graduates who died in the Vietnam War and was stuck on campus at Christmas.

One of Da’Vine’s big moments in the film comes when Mary unexpectedly attends a family party with moody teacher Paul Hunham (Paul Giamatti) and anxious student Angus Tully (Dominic Sessa), and catharstically releases some of her grief.

“I was pleasantly surprised to see how much context Mary had, the emotion of a completed storyline,” Da’Vine told the Los Angeles Times late last year. “That may sound trivial and silly, but it’s not always available, especially to people of color.”

‘Mary, oh Mary. You’ve changed my life. You made me feel seen in so many ways that I could never have imagined,” the actress said in her Golden Globes acceptance speech.

The comeback of live event TV continues.

ABC’s broadcast of the 96th Academy Awards on Sunday drew 19.5 million viewers, reaching its highest viewership in four years, according to Nielsen. The live TV audience was up from last year’s 18.8 million, the third year in a row that Oscar viewership has grown.

The ratings report will prompt cheers from ABC and the academy, which moved the start of the venerable awards show to 7 p.m. Eastern, an hour earlier than normal, in hopes that more viewers would stick around for the latter categories.

That approach seemed to pay off, as did the numerous nominations for the big box office hits ‘Barbie’ and ‘Oppenheimer’ – a change from recent years when more obscure films dominated the ceremony. Jimmy Kimmel also received warm reviews in his fourth outing as host, putting him one step away from matching another late-night star in the Oscars spotlight: Johnny Carson.

Nielsen said Sunday’s Oscars were the most-watched network awards show since February 2020, continuing a recent trend that has seen increased viewer interest in the types of mass cultural events that have struggled during the pandemic.

In February, 16.9 million people watched the Grammy Awards, an increase of 34 percent from last year. Golden Globes viewership rose 50 percent in January compared to a year ago. The Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers broke ratings records with an audience of 123.7 million. Even the ratings for the 2023 Tony Awards, traditionally the least watched of the “EGOTquartet, stood up modestly.

At Sunday’s Oscars, Billie Eilish sang her pop ballad “What Am I Made For?” and Ryan Gosling delivered a brutal yet committed performance of “I’m Just Ken.” The choreography, based on Busby Berkeley films and the Marilyn Monroe musical “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes,” was supplemented by a cameo from thrash-rock guitarist Slash and a bevy of supporting Kens from “Barbie,” including Simu Liu.

ABC, which has the broadcast rights to the Oscars through 2028, said it had sold out its ad inventory for Sunday’s event. The network did not share prices, but advertising executives said ABC charged $1.7 million to $2.2 million for a 30-second spot, slightly more than last year. Some ads appeared on the air itself, such as a plug for Don Julio tequila, in which Kimmel’s sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez offered the drink to celebrities in the audience.

In 2021, just 10.4 million people watched the stripped-down pandemic Oscars held in a Los Angeles train station. Viewership rose to 16.6 million people in 2022, partly due to the bizarre spectacle of Will Smith punching Chris Rock.

Yet there is no doubt that TV viewing habits have changed. Before 2018, the Oscars telecast had never fallen below 32 million viewers.

After receiving eight nominations over the course of 24 years, Christopher Nolan finally took home the Academy Award for Best Director last night.

The British-American director, 53, who is now based in Los Angeles, appeared emotional as he delivered his heartwarming acceptance speech for his blockbuster Oppenheimer.

Having thanked Universal Studios and his ‘incredible’ cast and crew, the father-of-four moved his focus to his wife Emma Thomas, who has produced all of his films.

He said: ‘Thank you for those who have been there for me and believed in me my whole career […]

‘My family and the incredible Emma Thomas – the producer of all our films and producer of all our children. I love you.’

The Oppenheimer director married his university sweetheart Emma Thomas in 1997 and the couple share four children. He has previously said he fell in love with his wife at first sight.

Christopher and Emma’s eldest daughter Flora, 23, made a brief appearance in his latest film as a woman whose face melted off in a nuclear blast.

But Flora isn’t the only Nolan child who has followed her parents into the creative arts – with her brothers Oliver, Rory and Magnus all having made cameos in at least one of Nolan’s films.

Despite their parents’ high profile in Hollywood, the children side-stepped the red carpet at last night’s Oscars – but were pictured sitting beside them during the ceremony and watching Christopher’s speech with pride.

Here FEMAIL delves into Christopher Nolan’s family life – after the director praised his wife and four children for their unwavering support.

‘Incredible’ producer wife Emma Thomas

Christopher Nolan met his wife Emma Thomas on their first day as students at University College London in 1989.

Emma was born in London but spent time living in the Middle East as a child as a result of her father’s work in the Civil Service.

Christopher and Emma – who studied English Literature and Ancient History – were placed in the same halls of residence and arranged movie screenings as part of their work with UCL’s Film Society.

In 2017, the director was granted an honorary doctorate and told graduating students: ‘We have four children. We have a body of work that we have made together.

‘So the moral of the story is: pay a lot of attention to who you meet on your first night at your halls of residence.’

During his Desert Island Discs interview in 2008, Christopher said: ‘I’ve come to believe in the concept of love at first sight because I realise it actually happened to me.’

In 2001, the couple welcomed their daughter Flora together – just one year before the critically acclaimed film Insomnia, starring Al Pacino and Robin Williams, hit screens.

The same year they became parents, the couple opened their own production company Syncopy Films.

Although the couple are fiercely private, they have shed light on their relationship in previous interviews.

In an interview with Variety, Emma gushed about her husband’s most ‘underrated’ quality.

She replied: ‘He’s funny! People think he’s dead serious, they accuse his films of also being so serious.

‘Even in Oppenheimer there are moments I find funny, even in the actor’s expressions. There is humour in his movies, and I don’t think he gets enough credit for it.’

In an interview with Screen Daily in 2018, Emma shed light on their creative partnership and detailed how she’ll often give her husband books she thinks could be adapted on screen.

She joked: ‘Yes, I’ll continue to give him books and he’ll continue to not be excited by some.’

In 2018, Christopher said he enjoys working with Emma and writing scripts with his brother because their ‘only agenda is making the best film possible’.

During his appearance on Desert Island Discs, the director – who was promoting Dunkirk at the time – said the key to his success was ‘surrounding yourself with the people who understand and support what it is you’re trying to do, but are unafraid to criticise… You’re looking for honest feedback without an agenda.’

What’s more, Christopher has also previously credited his wife for coming out with the ‘correct answer’ regarding the end of the 2010 movie Inception.

Appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Christopher explained how he was constantly being asked if Leonardo DiCaprio’s character Cobb was still dreaming at the end when the movie first came out.

Praising his wife’s interpretation, Christopher said: ‘I think it was Emma who pointed out the correct answer, really, is that the character, Leo’s character – the point of the shot is the character doesn’t care at that point. It’s not a question I comfortably answer.’

The couple’s eldest child Flora appears to be following her parents into the creative industry – having studied Collaborative Arts at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Flora supported her father last year when she made a fleeting appearance in Oppenheimer as a woman who is affected by a nuclear bomb.

In June 2023, Christopher revealed that he cast Flora as a woman whose face melts off in Oppenheimer in the wake of a nuclear bomb explosion.

Speaking to The Telegraph, the director explained: ‘We needed someone to do that small part of a somewhat experimental and spontaneous sequence. So it was wonderful to just have her sort of roll with it.’

Although Christopher admitted that the casting may have seemed strange at first, the director said watching his daughter play that part brought the subject matter really hit home for him.

He added: ‘The point is that if you create the ultimate destructive power it will also destroy those who are near and dear to you.

‘I suppose this was my way of expressing that in what, to me, were the strongest possible terms.’

In an interview that appears on the university’s website, Flora revealed that she is also an aspiring filmmaker and credits her father for showing her how to film on Super 8 movie film.

She said: ‘My dad taught me how to shoot on Super 8 when I was younger and I’ve been into it ever since. I just love the way it looks.

‘Shooting on film has given me a really great understanding of light and colour and I would love to shoot on larger format if I get a chance.’

What’s more, she also revealed that she is following in her mother’s footsteps by producing a short film with two friends.

On top of this, Flora is also an aspiring musician – and detailed in the interview how she likes to layer ‘ambient sounds’ in her productions.

She added: ‘I’ll record the birds outside or rain or people talking and use that as a starting point. I love singing and it just feels like a really interesting tool to use.

‘There are a lot of ways you can sample and chop up the human voice to create all kinds of sounds.’

Following in his big sister’s footsteps, aspiring photographer Magnus Nolan, 15, also made a brief appearance in one of his father’s films.

When he was a toddler, Christopher and Emma’s son played James Cobb in Inception.

He only appeared in fleeting moments in the film and was seen from the back playing on a beach in Cobb’s memory.

What’s more, Magnus’ father has been especially supportive of his dream of becoming a photographer.

In June 2023, Wired magazine published a profile of Christopher Nolan featuring only images his son had taken.

The following month, Magnus travelled to China with his father to promote Oppenheimer.

The aspiring photographer also walked the BAFTAs red carpet with his parents in London last month.

Like Magnus and Flora, Rory Nolan has also made a cameo in his parents’ films.

Christopher and Emma’s son is credited as the ‘boy on the bridge’ in the 2014 movie Interstellar.

In The Dark Knight Rises, Rory appeared as ‘the boy on the bus’ during one of Batman’s battles.

According to Screen Rant, Nolan names the working titles of his films after his children and The Dark Knight rises was dubbed ‘Rory’s First Kiss’.

The publication reports that Inception was dubbed ‘Oliver’s Arrow’ for a time while Interstellar had the working title of ‘Flora’s Letter’.

In 2006, Christopher and Emma’s eldest son Oliver was only a baby when he appeared in their film The Prestige, starring Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman and Michael Cane.

While promoting Oppenheimer, Christopher shed light on a conversation he’d had with his children about the film.

Speaking to Wired, the director said: ‘I told one of my sons about it as I started to write it, and he literally said to me: “But nobody really worries about that anymore.”

‘Two years later, he’s not saying that. The world’s changed again. And that’s a lesson for all of us, but particularly for the young. The world changes fast.’

As well as paying tribute to his wife in his BAFTA acceptance speech last night, Nolan also recognised campaigning groups who have ‘fought long and hard to reduce the number of nuclear weapons’.

He added: ‘In accepting this I do just want to acknowledge their efforts and point out they show the necessity and potential of efforts for peace.’

Oppenheimer won a whopping seven Oscars at Sunday night’s Academy Awards – while rival Barbie only won one.

The historical epic directed by Christopher Nolan swept the major categories with wins for Best Actor Cillian Murphy, Best Supporting Actor Robert Downey Jr. and Nolan – with the film also winning Best Picture.

In contrast, Barbie, who memorably won against Oppenheimer in the ‘Barbenheimer’ box office showdown over the summer, walked away with just one award for Best Original Song for What Was I Made For? by Billie Eilish and Finneas McConnell.

Downey Jr. jokingly thanked his ‘terrible childhood’ as he finally won an Oscar for his portrayal of Lewis Strauss, was delighted as he took to the stage –  after host Jimmy Kimmel made a very awkward quip about his drug use.

The veteran actor – who has acted for over five decades –  took home the Academy Award over stiff competition including Sterling K. Brown, American Fiction, Robert De Niro, Killers of the Flower Moon, Ryan Gosling, Barbie, and Mark Ruffalo, Poor Things.

He continued: 'Here's my little secret. I needed this job more than it needed me. Chris knew it, Emma made sure that she surrounded me with one of the great casts and crews of all time, Emily, Cillian, it was fantastic

The talented star took to the podium to showcase his signature wit and even joked about his ‘terrible childhood’ while accepting the honor.

He said: ‘Thank you, thank you. Ah — thanks, Sam, thanks, fellas. You only flubbed one line. I’d like to thank my terrible childhood and The Academy, in that order.

‘I’d like to thank my — veterinarian — I meant wife, Susan Downey over there. She found me a snarling rescue pet and you loved me back to life. That’s why I’m here. Thank you.’

The talented actor went on talk about how much he needed his role in Oppenheimer while thanking director Christopher Nolan and castmates Emily Blunt and Cillian Murphy.

Taylor Swift’s romance with Kansas City Chiefs football player Travis Kelce has taken the world by storm.

The Karma singer, 34, and the athlete, 34, first sparked dating rumors in September 2023, after Swift attended a number of his games.

The pair went public with their relationship in October 2023, when they stepped out holding hands at a Saturday Night Live afterparty.

They cemented their love in January with an amorous display after the Chiefs secured their place at the Super Bowl, with Kelce heard saying ‘I love you’ to his pop star girlfriend for the first time.

As the power couple’s romance has sparked rumors of a possible future engagement – Dailymail.com looks back at their whirlwind relationship.

Whispers of a possible romance first began circling the couple in July, when eagle-eyed fans spotted Kelce attending Swift’s Eras Tour at Arrowhead Stadium.

JULY 26, 2023: TRAVIS SAYS HE TRIED TO GIVE TAYLOR HIS PHONE NUMBER

The NFL heartthrob revealed how he tried – and failed – to make a move on Swift at her concert.

He said he had his phone number inscribed on a bracelet, which he planned to present to the pop star.

However when he attended one of Taylor’s concerts in Kansas City, he was unsuccessful in his attempts to meet her backstage.

‘So she doesn’t meet anybody and she doesn’t – or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal,’ he quipped on his podcast New Heights to his brother Jason Kelce.

He said he was ‘disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings, so I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I’ve made for her.’

‘If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets, and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it.’

Although he was unable to meet with Taylor face-to-face, he had nothing but warm words for her performance, which he hailed as ‘an unbelievable show.’

In September, Travis’ brother Jason addressed the rumors about the pair dating.

‘I’ve seen these rumors. I cannot comment,’ Jason quipped while speaking with Prime’s Thursday Night Football panel.

‘Ever since Catching Kelce everybody’s been infatuated with Travis’ love life,’ he added, referring to his brother’s former reality dating show.

‘I don’t really know what’s going on there, but I know Travis is having fun and we’ll see what happens with whoever he ends up with.’

SEPTEMBER 19, 2023: TRAVIS REVEALS HIS BIGGEST TURNOFFS AMID TAYLOR DATING RUMORS

While appearing on Kristin Cavallari’s Let’s Be Honest podcast in September, Kelce revealed his biggest turnoffs amid reports he was dating Taylor.

The two-time Super Bowl winner said ‘high maintenance’ would have him running for a getaway car.

‘High maintenance, I’m out the door,’ he said. ‘If you’re arrogant, snooty or just higher or above people, that’s the biggest turn-off for me.’

Kelce added that he would be enchanted by ‘some sort of sweetness’ in a partner, explaining that his mom, Donna, is ‘kind-hearted.’

The eight-time pro bowler added that he’s a guarded fortress when entering into a relationship.

He said that he would look to take things slow, explaining: ‘To really dive into a relationship with somebody I feel like it’s going to take at least, I don’t know, it’s going to take some time.’

‘It’s not going to be immediate because, the stuff I’ve been through, just in my past, I feel like you really gotta know somebody to take that step and really be committed and be in full-throttle. I can’t just meet somebody and just automatically think that forever is just a day away… I think it takes quite a bit of time for somebody to really get to know somebody and really get to find that affection and love for them.’

However, right afterwards he added he was ‘joking.’

‘It’s hard to answer because I don’t really know a lot about Travis’ love life. I try to keep his business kind of his business, stay out of that world,’ he explained.

He continued: ‘Having said that, man, I think they’re doing great and I think it’s all 100% true, and I hope this thing goes a mile — no, I’m joking, I don’t know what’s happening.’

‘We’ll see what happens in the near future.’

‘I think it’s fun when they show who was at the game. I think it brings a little bit more to the atmosphere, brings a little bit more to what you’re watching. But at the same time I think…’

‘They’re overdoing it,’ Jason finished the sentence for him.

‘This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,’ she told TIME magazine, after being named Time Magazine’s ‘Person of the Year’.

‘We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.’

‘When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,’ she added.

‘The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.’

Streets and squares are changed from Ukrainian names to Soviet-era names. Only Russian passport holders have access to healthcare and social services. Teachers have been forced to switch to Russian curricula.

The Ukrainian port city of Mariupol has been a symbol of Russia’s brutal invasion and occupation of large parts of Ukrainian territory. But as the war rages on and Moscow tries to make the city an example of Russification, Mariupol’s fate threatens to fade from the world’s consciousness.

So it was with satisfaction and hope that Ukraine on Monday celebrated winning its first-ever Oscar for the documentary “20 Days in Mariupol,” which chronicles the brutality of the Russian siege of the city in the spring of 2022.

The film’s Oscar, the Ukrainians say, could help refocus attention on the tortured city and the war in general, at a time when help from allies is uncertain and Russian forces are regaining ground .

“’20 Days in Mariupol’ is a film that shows the truth about Russian terrorism,” President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a statement rack Monday on Telegram. It allows us to speak loudly about Russia’s war against Ukraine, he said.

Mr. Zelensky and other officials said the documentary, filmed by Associated Press journalists, had helped debunk Moscow’s claims that its forces had committed no crimes. It shows medics desperately trying to save children hit by Russian shells, residents boiling snow for water and digging ditches to bury corpses.

These images are in stark contrast to the images the Kremlin propaganda machine has tried to project, claiming that the siege of Mariupol spared civilians and that the occupied city is now flourishing under Russian rule.

Mariupol, a city of half a million inhabitants before the war, was severely damaged during the fighting. A recent one study by Human Rights Watch and several organizations found that 93 percent of high-rise buildings in a central zone of five square kilometers were damaged or destroyed.

After occupying the city, Russian authorities began reconstruction, bulldozing some damaged houses and replacing them with new ones. These efforts are being celebrated by the Russian news media as proof that the city is flourishing thanks to investment from Moscow.

But Western news reports have shown that the reconstruction has been essentially cosmetic, leaving residents in a Potemkin village with poorly constructed housing.

“It is shocking to understand how such a beautiful Ukrainian city turned into something inhabited by Russian people in cardboard houses, without utilities, and with great suffering for the Ukrainian people,” said Julia Kastan, 29, a resident of Kiev , the Ukrainian capital. Monday.

The Human Rights Watch report also highlighted the heavy toll of Russia’s assault on Mariupol, which lasted from February to May 2022, when the last Ukrainian defenders in the sprawling Azovstal steel plant surrendered. It documented 8,000 deaths from combat or war-related causes, although the actual number is likely much higher.

According to the report, Russian air and artillery strikes have hit civilian locations including hospitals, residential buildings and food storage and distribution centers.

After the images were released in the early days of the war, Russia began an intense propaganda campaign, claiming they were fake or that the hospital was protecting Ukrainian troops.

But the images sparked global outrage and epitomized the brutality of the Russian invasion.

‘The world saw the truth about Russia’s crimes’ Andriy Ermak, the head of Ukraine’s presidential office told Telegram on Monday. “Our film broke the enemy propaganda.”

Several Kiev residents said they hoped the documentary would help draw attention to the current situation in Mariupol, which Russia is recreating in its image.

According to the Human Rights Watch report, the occupiers had renamed streets and squares in Russian and forced teachers to agree to teach a Russian curriculum.

“As in other Russian-occupied territories in Ukraine, those who dare to oppose these changes, or who speak out against the war and occupation, risk arbitrarily detaining, imprisoning or forcibly disappearing,” it said report.

The British Ministry of Military Intelligence said this on Monday in a message on X that the Kremlin “pursued a ruthless Russification policy” in occupied Ukrainian territory.

For example, in those areas, access to social services and health care depends on possession of a Russian passport, and those who do not have one after July 1 will be considered foreign citizens or stateless persons and could be deported, the report said. According to military intelligence, about 2.8 million people in the territories have Russian passports.

“When I hear the word Mariupol, tears immediately come to my eyes,” Iryna Lavrenkova, a resident of Kiev, said on Monday.

Daria Mitiuk reporting contributed.

“Queen!”

It was a Friday night in January, and Snoop Dogg had just entered a cocktail party hosted by Donna Langley, NBCUniversal’s chief content officer and studio president. His shouted greeting, combined with a cheerful, reverent dance, seemed to embarrass her a little. “We’re here to celebrate filmmakers and films,” Langley told the audience a few minutes later. “This isn’t about me.”

For an executive who prefers to stay in the background — she declined to be interviewed for this article and sent a lieutenant to try to kill it — the 2024 Oscar stretch has been tricky. Like it or not, this moment in Hollywood history is largely about her.

It was Langley who, in a wild bet on a three-hour period drama about a physicist, gave Christopher Nolan the money to make “Oppenheimer.” The film won seven Oscars on Sunday, including director and best film. Nolan began his acceptance speech for best director by saying, “Donna Langley – thank you for seeing the potential in this.”

Da’Vine Joy Randolph won the supporting actress Oscar for her performance as a grieving mother and boarding school cook in “The Holdovers,” which was released by Focus Features, a specialty film studio that Langley also oversees.

In a rare feat, Universal’s creative dominance coincided with commercial supremacy: the studio hit No. 1 at the worldwide box office in 2023, sold nearly $5 billion in tickets and ended an eight-year Disney reign. Moreover, Universal reached the audience the old-fashioned way: by offering films from a mix of genres, without a superhero to be found. “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” ($1.4 billion) led the way, followed by “Oppenheimer” ($958 million), “Fast

Other Universal successes included Wes Anderson’s ‘Asteroid City’, the comedy ‘Cocaine Bear’ and the horror-comedy ‘M3gan’. Over the weekend, “Kung Fu Panda 4” arrived to a solid $58.3 million in the United States and Canada. (There have been failures, of course, including “The Exorcist: Believer,” which bombed in the fall, putting a planned trilogy in jeopardy.)

Sometimes your luck is great in the casino called Hollywood. But Universal’s strength is also a testament to the 56-year-old Langley, who has doggedly tried to make her studio the home of choice for Hollywood’s top filmmakers and producers. As ticket buyers begin to push back on superhero thrillers and franchise sequels, Universal’s first-look deals and partnerships with talent like Jason Blum, James Wan, Jordan Peele, Elizabeth Banks, Seth Rogen, Judd Apatow, Phil Lord and Chris Miller position the studio for continued prosperity.

“Donna is a spectacular studio executive,” Steven Spielberg, who returned to Universal in 2015 after a stint on his own, said in a telephone interview. “The relationship between directors and studios has historically been them versus us. There are exceptions and Donna is one of them. She is with us.”

Spielberg added that he showed Langley “a very early draft” of his 2022 cinematic memoir “The Fabelmans,” which was nominated for seven Academy Awards. “Not because I was obliged to,” Spielberg said. ‘Not because I was trying to get approval or fish for compliments. I needed Donna’s ideas on how to make the movie better.”

Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, whose ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ won seven Oscars last year, including for director and best picture, signed a five-year exclusive deal with Universal in 2022.

“We were immediately impressed with Dame Donna Langley and the culture she has fostered in her studio,” Kwan and Scheinert wrote in an email. “She is a deeply feeling and creative human being who really listens to you when you speak. The first time we had dinner, we talked about integrating gut biome science into criminal justice, climate change, interior design, and the hunt for the perfect shade of yellow. We knew immediately that we had found our people.” (Langley, who grew up on the Isle of Wight, became one Dame Commander of the British Empire in 2020.)

Talent may feel comfortable with Langley, but she also makes it clear that the studio is her priority. She was one of four executives (the others came from Disney, Netflix and Warner Bros.) who engaged in bare-knuckle union negotiations with writers and actors last year, resulting in strikes. She recently lost a bidding war with Warner Bros. for a new film from Ryan Coogler (“Black Panther”), in part because she refused to budge on a highly unusual deal point: Coogler wanted the copyright to revert to him after a certain period of time. . Warner agreed.

Universal, which is releasing 19 films this year, has also benefited from competitive instability.

Disney’s film operations have struggled with quality, causing the company to cut back on production; it will release 10 films this year. Warner Bros., which has a dozen films on its 2024 release calendar, has been divided among its owners and its parent company is widely seen in Hollywood as a merger candidate. (Possibly with NBCUniversal.) Paramount will release nine films as its parent company struggles with a rapidly crumbling cable TV business and streaming costs.

Universal is owned by Comcast, which has been relatively stable. “Film has always been a priority for Comcast and under Donna’s leadership we wanted to ensure she had the resources to invest in the talent and creators who would want to call Universal their home,” wrote Brian L. Roberts, CEO of Comcast, in an email. .

Langley came to Hollywood in 1991 and worked as an unpaid intern at a literary agency while working at a nightclub on the Sunset Strip. At the club she met Michael De Luca, then director of New Line Cinema, and he hired her as his assistant. (De Luca is now co-chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group.) She climbed the ladder at New Line until joining Universal in 2001.

“Sometimes in our industry there is a sense of being afraid to operate – let me take the path of least resistance, let me do the thing that is least risky because the environment is tough,” said Will Packer, Universal based producer of hits. such as ‘Girls Trip’ and ‘Ride along’.

“I don’t get that feeling from the team at Universal,” he continued. “And for the creative community that makes the difference.”
