A day after President Biden claimed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel was “hurting Israel more than helping Israel,” Mr. Netanyahu dismissed that claim as “wrong,” escalating the increasingly public dispute between the leaders.

Mr Netanyahu, in a interview with Politicschallenged Mr. Biden’s assessment of Israel’s military strategy in the Gaza Strip, saying his policies represented what the “overwhelming majority” of Israelis wanted.

“I don’t know exactly what the president meant, but if he meant that I am pursuing private policies against the majority, the wishes of the majority of Israelis, and that this is detrimental to Israel’s interests, then he is wrong. on both counts,” Mr. Netanyahu said.

He added: “It is a policy that is supported by the overwhelming majority of Israelis. They support the action we are taking to destroy Hamas’ remaining terrorist battalions.”

Mr Netanyahu was responding to comments Mr Biden made on Saturday in a interview with MSNBC. Mr Biden reprimanded Mr Netanyahu over the rising number of civilian casualties in Gaza, while reaffirming US support for Israel.

“He has the right to defend Israel, the right to continue to pursue Hamas, but he must, he must, he must pay more attention to the innocent lives that are being lost as a result of the actions taken,” Mr. Biden said.

“In my opinion, he is hurting Israel more than he is helping Israel,” Mr. Biden said, appearing to refer to Mr. Netanyahu’s military strategy. “It goes against what Israel stands for, and I think it’s a big mistake. That is why I want to see a ceasefire.”

When asked by the interviewer, Jonathan Capehart, whether he had a “red line” that Mr. Netanyahu should not cross, such as a ground invasion of Rafah in southern Gaza, Mr. Biden gave a muddled answer, but said that “the defense of Israel still critical.”

“He cannot allow another 30,000 Palestinians to be killed as a result” of his pursuit of Hamas, the president said, referring to Mr. Netanyahu.

“There are other ways to deal with the trauma caused by Hamas, to achieve it,” he added.

Mr. Biden provided no details. The Gaza Health Ministry has said more than 31,000 people have been killed in the enclave since Israel started the war in response to Hamas attacks on October 7.

But the president’s comments once again underscored the delicate position the United States finds itself in: arming Israel while providing humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Mr Biden has been more forceful in recent days about the plight of civilians in Gaza, urging Mr Netanyahu not to go ahead with his stated plans to launch a major ground offensive in Rafah without a plan to kill those who shelter there to protect. More than a million Gazans have sought refuge in the city, many of whom have been displaced by orders from the Israeli army to move to so-called safe zones.

In the interview with Politico, Mr. Netanyahu reiterated that Israel still plans to invade Rafah: “We are going there. We’re not leaving. You know, I have a red line. You know what the red line is: October 7 will not happen again. It will never happen again.”

When asked about Mr Biden’s comments, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz declined to say what they suggested about the US-Israel relationship.

“I try to distinguish between rhetoric and essence: the objectives of the war and the State of Israel are simple – they are to release all hostages and dismantle Hamas’s military and leadership power,” Mr. Katz told Kan, the Israeli public. radio network on Sundays. “The United States supports these goals, as Biden emphasized yesterday.”

He added that Israel had said there would be a plan to evacuate civilians from Rafah before a ground invasion, and reiterated that his country’s army “has not deliberately harmed civilians.”

The push toward Rafah has prompted warnings from the United States and other allies about the potential humanitarian costs. The United Nations has said a ground invasion of Rafah could have “huge consequences for all of Gaza, including the hundreds of thousands at high risk of starvation and famine in the north.”

Under Mr. Biden, U.S. military cargo planes have dropped food, water and other aid into Gaza a handful of times in recent days. The last airdrop took place on Monday, when said the US military it dropped more than 27,000 “meal equivalents” and nearly 26,000 bottles of water in northern Gaza.

Additionally, the Biden administration has announced plans to build a floating pier off the coast of Gaza to deliver more supplies to the enclave.

But U.S. officials have acknowledged that cutting off air aid and building a pier will not be as effective as delivering supplies by land, an option that Israel has largely blocked.

A committee investigating the October mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine, questioned colleagues of the shooter, Robert R. Card Jr., at an Army Reserve hearing and pressed for answers about their failed efforts to prevent he would cause harm and provoke some of the violence. most detailed accounts yet of the months leading up to the disaster.

Committee members delved into key moments of inaction by military supervisors who were aware of the shooter’s threats, erratic behavior and access to weapons, and sought accountability from the many law enforcement agencies and military personnel who raised concerns about Mr Card, as his mental condition deteriorated last year.

“Since families cannot control their own guns, was it a very good plan that relied on the family removing its guns?” George Dilworth, a former assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Maine and a member of the committee, asked Army Reserve Capt. Jeremy Reamer, who was involved in the response to Mr. Card’s troubling behavior.

After a failed attempt by the local sheriff’s office to check on Mr. Card’s welfare in September, authorities consulted with his family on a plan to secure his firearms.

“I didn’t know the family dynamics, so I can’t comment on that, but it was a plan, and in my experience, a viable plan,” said Captain Reamer, his voice soft and his demeanor solemn as he sat. alone at the witness table.

On the night of Oct. 25, Mr. Card, a 40-year-old Army Reserve grenade instructor, shot and killed 18 people at two popular Lewiston recreation spots, a bowling alley and a bar where cornhole enthusiasts gathered to relax. After a two-day manhunt for the missing gunman, he was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The seven-member Independent Commission to Investigate the Facts of the Lewiston Tragedy did not discuss Thursday an autopsy report released this week detailing the findings of Boston University scientists who examined the gunman’s brain and found significant identified damage. The trauma they found was similar to damage found in the brains of veterans exposed to weapon explosions, the researchers said. A spokesperson for the committee did not immediately respond when asked whether it wanted to hear testimony from the scientists.

The findings shed new light on the symptoms of mental illness that Mr. Card began exhibiting last year, a year after he began losing his hearing and nearly a decade after he began teaching summer courses for the Army Reserve. This included live grenade training for military cadets, work that exposed him to thousands of blasts.

A 2020 study by Army researchers found rampant abnormalities in the brains of grenade and explosives instructors. But the military has been slow to investigate more deeply or implement changes that could help protect personnel from harm.

Mr Card’s family made the autopsy findings public on Wednesday, along with an apology to the victims’ families. The gunman’s sister, Nicole Herling, said in an interview that the additional insight had allowed her to forgive her brother, whose exposure to the explosion and resulting trauma may have been a factor in his actions.

During previous sessions, the committee heard from local, state and federal law enforcement officials, as well as family members of the dead, who struggled to understand how the gunman was able to keep his weapons despite being considered a threat.

At times, the testimonies offered glimpses of a stop-and-start response to widespread concerns about the troubled Army reservist, with moments of intense intervention followed by missed opportunities and lost momentum.

The committee, which has met six times since January, planned to issue an interim report with its findings later this month, the spokesperson said.

Questions to the five witnesses on Thursday focused on their failure to monitor the gunman’s mental health after his release from a two-week stay in a psychiatric hospital last summer and after a colleague expressed concerns to superiors in mid-September that Mr. Card would “go shooting and do a mass shooting.”

One witness, Army Reserve First Sgt. Kelvin Mote recalled an interaction in which Mr. Card looked blankly through him with a “thousand-yard stare,” a moment that made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. Sergeant Mote also described his urgent and successful effort to have Mr. Card committed to a New York psychiatric hospital in July after hearing him describe himself as “capable” of harming others.

Sergeant Mote said he tried to call Mr Card three times after his release to follow up, but was unable to reach him. And when the local police’s attempt to check on his welfare failed because Mr. Card was not home or did not answer the door, Sergeant Mote said, “There was nothing I could do.”

“You could have contacted the Army Reserve psychiatric program, the resources that were available to members and their families,” said Paula Silsby, a committee member and a former U.S. attorney, said.

“Yes, on paper,” he said.

“But you didn’t,” said Mrs. Silsby.

Mainstream Democrats, seeing the politics of Israel’s war in Gaza shifting against them, are urging President Biden to become much more outspoken in his criticism of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s right-wing government and to be much more outspoken in his demands for a long-term solution to the conflict. the conflict that includes a Palestinian state.

At the start of the war, with memories fresh of Hamas’s terrorist attack on Israel that claimed some 1,200 lives, Jewish Democrats, who had grown restless over Netanyahu’s rule more than a year ago, largely rallied behind Biden, while firmly siding with Israel. .

But as the death toll in Gaza rises inexorably, many are urging the president not so much to change policy but to become the voice of his administration’s own demands for a Ramadan ceasefire, more humanitarian aid, greater reductions in Jewish settler violence, and long-term peace that includes a Palestinian state.

“We hope that a strategy for peace and an end to this nightmare will be laid out in the State of the Union,” Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland, a prominent Jewish Democrat, said Wednesday. “No one can question Biden’s commitment to Israel’s security, and no one can question his career-long commitment to human rights and international law. This is the moment when the world needs American leadership for peace.”

Mr. Raskin returned to earlier criticism of Mr. Netanyahu’s governing coalition, the most right-wing in Israel’s history, adding: “Democrats believe that we do not take orders from right-wing politicians in America, and neither should we should do.” orders from right-wing politicians in another country.”

Well over a dozen Jewish Democrats in the House of Representatives were in charge a critical letter at the end of last month He demands that Mr Biden will “redouble” his efforts to reach a ceasefire that will allow more humanitarian aid to Gaza’s starving residents. Many of the same lawmakers warned Wednesday of an Israeli attack on the town of Rafah, along the Gaza-Egypt border, where hundreds of thousands of displaced civilians have taken shelter.

Senators Cory Booker of New Jersey and Michael Bennet of Colorado returned from the region on Wednesday and spoke out in opposition “extremist settler violence against Palestinian civilians” in the West Bank and the “urgent need for much more robust and consistent” humanitarian assistance to Gaza.

Senator Chris Van Hollen, Democrat of Maryland, took to the Senate to name far-right Israeli cabinet members Itamar Ben Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich for blocking food aid. Mr Van Hollen invoked federal law that says military aid must be withheld from a government that blocks US humanitarian aid. On Wednesday, he emphasized that such a blockade would exclude air and missile defense systems, and he reiterated his demand for an answer from the State Department on why the law has not yet been invoked.

The leaders of these efforts come not from the party’s far left, which has been critical of the Gaza war almost from the start, but from the Democratic mainstream.

“I want the president to use his power to broker a ceasefire and bring in much-needed humanitarian aid,” said Rep. Jim McGovern, a veteran lawmaker from Massachusetts. “Some of us are frustrated. We have more influence here than we use.”

Patrick Gaspard, former Obama administration ambassador to South Africa and now head of the Center for American Progress, the Democratic establishment think tank, used social media this week to say that the federal government should “drop aid to Gaza because Netanyahu’s government is not allowing food to its starving population while shooting hundreds of civilians.”

Mr Gaspard added: “This is the surreal, powerless and cruel reality.”

That’s partly because the political risks for Democrats are clear. Tuesday night’s celebration for Rep. Adam Schiff, a Jewish Democrat who finished first in the race to capture an open Senate seat in California, was marred by noisy demonstrators who shouted ‘Liberate Palestine’ and ‘Let Gaza live’.

Even critics of Israel, like Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, are battle with squatters They demand that they take stronger positions against Israel. Biden endured another embarrassment Tuesday night when “uncommitted” won nearly 46,000 votes — 19 percent of the total — in the Minnesota primary, amid a campaign by Democrats protesting his policies in Gaza.

Democrats say they are not looking for large-scale shifts in U.S. policy. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken has made clear that the administration only sees long-term peace through the creation of an autonomous Palestinian state. The State Department is seeking new entry points for much more humanitarian aid to starving Gazans, and ministry officials have singled out “Israeli government ministers” for blocking the release of flour and supporting protests that threaten the stopped the flow of food aid.

And Vice President Kamala Harris was more forceful last weekend in her demand for an “immediate ceasefire” during Ramadan this month, placing responsibility on both Hamas and Israel.

“It is imperative that the United States fulfill our commitment to end this conflict,” Mr. Booker said on Wednesday after returning from consultations in Jordan, Israel and the West Bank. “We must remember that the path to a just and lasting peace depends on our renewed commitment to a comprehensive two-state solution.”

But Democrats say Mr. Biden should be the face of such policies.

“Most Democrats would like to see President Biden, whose emotional intelligence is soaring, recognize and acknowledge the humanity of everyone caught up in this nightmare in Israel and Gaza,” Mr. Raskin said.

Mr. McGovern was more blunt with his State of the Union demands: “I want him to say that the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza is unacceptable and that I am going to do something about it,” he said, “and I intend to do something about it.” I’m going to do more than just issue a statement.”

The tension will almost certainly be reflected during the State of the Union address on Thursday evening. Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana has made a show of inviting Mia Schem, a released Jewish hostage captured by Hamas on October 7. The families of no fewer than seventeen hostages will be present Thursday evening to remind Biden of their continued captivity, as guests of Republicans and Democrats.

“As Hamas’s propagandists and unwitting proxies attempt to turn the world against Israel, it is critical that we stand firm, remember who started this war, and not forget the hostages and their loved ones,” Representative Mike Lawler said, Republican of New York, to The New York Times. Jewish insider.

On the other hand, Representative Cori Bush, Democrat of Missouri and an outspoken critic of Israel and the Biden administration, will bring Intimaa Salama, a Palestinian dentist and graduate student from St. Louis University.

“Thirty-five family members of Dr. Salama have been murdered in the last 150 days,” Mrs. Bush said in announcing her guest. “This is an incalculable loss.”

Most Democrats are careful to say their demands are in line with the administration, not in opposition to it. More than thirty Democrats from the House of Representatives on Wednesday released a letter “to express our deep sense of urgency and concern about the potentially devastating consequences for innocent civilians of an Israeli military ground invasion of Rafah.”

The letter also denounced “calls by members of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s government for illegal policies such as the expulsion and transfer of civilians.”

But Democrats insisted they were merely “supporting the warnings of Biden administration officials.”

Katrina Gorry’s daughter Harper has delighted Matildas fans by grabbing the microphone at her mother’s press conference after the Aussies beat Uzbekistan 10-0 to win a place at the Paris Olympics.

The two-year-old wowed reporters after Wednesday night’s game when she grabbed the microphone and said, “Bye!” before Gorry told her they had to leave because it was ‘Lanni’s turn’ to speak, referring to her teammate Alanna Kennedy.

Harper was in no rush to get off stage, however, which led to her mother picking her up before she gave an adorable “Bye!” to Kennedy, who then turned to reporters and said, “Sorry, I’m not as cute as them.”

The unofficial 24th member of the Matildas’ World Cup squad was also beaming from ear to ear as she was thrown into the air by Kyra-Cooney Cross after the grenades at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium.

After the win, Gorry dropped a huge hint that the Olympics could be the last major competition in which she plays for her country.

Australia came close to winning a number of major trophies during the 31-year-old’s 13-year, 105-match spell in green and gold, most notably finishing fourth at last year’s World Cup, fourth at the Olympics in Tokyo and lost in the quarter. 2022 Asian Cup final.

“All these things drive you and awaken something in you as an athlete,” Gorry said Wednesday night.

‘We always want to win. We can compete with the best. I think we showed that at the World Cup and in recent years.

‘Of course it’s sad, [the Olympics] for some of us the last big tournament, but I think it could be a very special tournament.

“To go out with a bang would be great for all of us.”

Gorry had a strong World Cup and was a standout performer in the first half of the win in Uzbekistan before being sent off at half-time to manage her workload.

She should be a shoo-in to take the Australian squad to Paris barring injury, but the nature of Wednesday night’s win gives coach Tony Gustavsson a pleasant selection headache.

Michelle Heyman was not expected to push for a place at the Olympics after six years out of international football, but her incredible four-goal haul in Melbourne has turned that on its head.

With superstar Sam Kerr struggling to overcome her serious knee injury in time to be fit for the Games, the Aussies need all the firepower they can get, and the 35-year-old has raised her hand in the best way possible.

“When I came there, I knew what Uzbekistan could bring and I knew exactly what I had to do to be successful,” Heyman said after the match.

“I believe in my ability and know how hard I pushed myself to get here, and I won’t stop.

‘I’m going to push even harder for Canberra United and just keep working on my fitness and speed and do everything I can to be one of those sixteen outfield players going to Paris.’

Beau Lamarre-Condon is said to have tried to hide the bodies in surf bags, under rocks and rubble

Det Supt Doherty said the bodies of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies were found on the fence line of a property in Bungonia.

They were hidden in surfboard pockets, under rubble and rubble.

“There’s a driveway that goes to a property and there’s a fence there, on the side of the driveway,” he said.

“There appears to have been an attempt to cover the bodies with stones and rubble.”

It is understood they had an on-again, off-again relationship before Baird started seeing Davies.

Luke Davies’ mother just wanted to know where her son was

Commissioner Webb said she was relieved the bodies of Luke Davies and Jesse Baird had been found.

“I’m very relieved for the families,” she said.

“I spoke to both families, they came off the highway and waited for news every day – every hour was an agonizing wait.”

She said Davis’ mother just wanted to know where he was.

“As a parent, and talking to Luke’s mom, I knew this is what parents want: they want to know where their kids are.”

Police spoke with Lamarre-Condon around 11 a.m. Tuesday, when he allegedly told them where the bodies were.

They were located two hours later, around 1 p.m.

Minutes later, police informed their families.

Beau Lamarre-Condon has been suspended without pay from the NSW Police Force

Accused killer Beau Lamarre-Condon has been suspended from the NSW Police Force without pay.

He is currently on remand in a prison in Silverwater, in Sydney’s west, and has helped police locate the bodies of his alleged victims after speaking to a lawyer.

Police have not yet confirmed how many bullets were fired from Lamarre-Condon’s police-issued firearm when Luke Davies and Jesse Baird were allegedly killed.

“We can confirm that a firearm was discharged and we will be able to get more answers today.

“We cannot determine how many bullets were actually fired from his firearm.”

Commissioner Webb said there will be an investigation into how the suspect could have committed two murders with his police rifle.

“That should never happen again,” she said.

‘We must look for ways to limit that risk as best as possible.’

She also said there will be an investigation into the police’s internal systems and access to firearms.

Woman who allegedly accompanied Lamarre-Condon is ‘innocent’

Det Supt Doherty said a female witness who allegedly accompanied Lamarre-Condon was innocent.

“What we will allege is that the suspect went to the first property in Bungonia as outlined and then returned to the property which was the first property searched and moved the bodies to the current location.”

When asked if the suspect had any connection to the Bungonia property, police said they were still trying to determine the connection.

“There doesn’t appear to be a connection but it will all unfold as the investigation takes place,” Detective Doherty said.

Commissioner Webb described the alleged killings as a “crime of passion” during a press conference on Monday.

She was criticized for describing an alleged domestic violence situation that way, and at Tuesday’s conference she said, “If that word upsets people, it wasn’t intended that way.”

“The motive for the crime is not a gay hate crime, but rather a domestic crime.

“It was intended to distinguish it from a gay hate crime.”

Hero cop has ‘barely eaten or slept’ since search began

Police officer leading the investigation, Detective Sergeant Sasha Pinazza, said: ‘I’m exhausted, I’ve barely eaten or slept.’

‘This morning we worked again and we achieved a wonderful result for the families.’

Detectives felt “deflated” when they failed to find the bodies yesterday, but said they were proud of the police’s efforts on Tuesday.

Det Supt Doherty would not reveal the condition the bodies were in when they were discovered on Tuesday, but did say “they were covered in rubble”.

Lamarre-Condon is said to have acted alone.

“We will allege that he acted alone and that he is the only person responsible for storing Luke and Jesse’s bodies at their current location,” he said.

Bodies were reportedly found in two surfboard bags

Chief Inspector Danny Doherty told a press conference that homicide crews had opened a new crime scene in Bungonia, about 20 minutes away from the original crime scene.

“Two surf bags were found,” he said.

“And some rubble and other interesting objects that are located there.

‘And at that stage it was declared a crime scene and the family were immediately informed of the development.’

He also said Lamarre-Condon revealed the whereabouts of the bodies after receiving legal advice.

It was the first time he cooperated with the police during the investigation

The accused killer helped police find the bodies of the Channel Ten presenter and his friend

NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb confirmed at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon that two bodies had been located at a second crime scene in Bungonia.

The families of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies have been notified.

“We are confident that we have found Luke and Jesse,” she said.

‘Today, this afternoon, detectives from Strike Force Ashfordby located a second crime scene in Bungonia, a separate location they had searched yesterday and earlier.’

Commissioner Webb confirmed that the alleged killer, Beau Lamarre-Condon, helped police locate the bodies.

Human remains found in a building in Bungonia

Human remains have been found at a property in Bungonia, south of Sydney, during the hunt for the bodies of missing TV presenter Jesse Baird and his flight attendant friend Luke Davies.

Beau Lamarre-Condon, a senior officer in the NSW Police Force, is said to have shot the pair on Baird’s terrace in Paddington, on the outskirts of Sydney, last Monday.

Lamarre-Condon allegedly shot the pair with his Glock police pistol.

He turned himself in to police on Thursday and was charged with two counts of murder on Friday, but he refused to tell investigators where the bodies were.

Investigators had searched a remote property in Bungonia earlier this week, including several dams, but were unable to find the bodies.

on now deleted message from beau Lamarre-condon

The remains were discovered on Tuesday after police established a second crime scene at a different location in Bungonia.

Lamarre-Condon is said to have driven to the area in a rented van with an acquaintance last Wednesday and bought an angle screwdriver and padlock along the way.

He allegedly cut through a padlocked gate to access a private road and left the acquaintance for 30 minutes while he allegedly disposed of the bodies.

The van is believed to have left the Bungonia area around 4.30am on Thursday in a possible attempt to move the bodies to a new location, police said.

The first fight ended in a controversial split-decision victory for Taylor at the OVO Hydro arena in Glasgow.

There was no love lost between the two as tempers flared during their first confrontation at a press conference in Edinburgh.

There were many strong words shared between the fighters, but Taylor was able to show his brutal side with one gimmick.

The Scot, 33, was seen leaning over to give Catterall the crayons, leading to a confrontation between the two.

Throughout the press he kept bringing up the fact that he had given Catterall crayons during their meeting.

He was heard telling his rival, “Go back to your crayons,” as he directed them.

After the press conference ended, Taylor shared a photo of the crayons for Catterall's nameplate on social media.

He wrote: “Jack Catterall, you left your gift behind. So ungrateful.”

Many of Taylor's fans loved the joke when they commented on the post.

A second commented: “Top bantz.”

A third posted: “Well funny that.”

A fourth said: “Great banter.”

Another said: “Hahaha, that's quite funny, to be honest.”

The controversy surrounding the first fight and the shared bitterness between the two made an immediate rematch a no-brainer.

But competing promotions and networks got in the way of the grudge match.

Now, after two years, a deal has finally been agreed that will see the arch-rivals settle the score on April 27.

Jennifer Lopez put on a dazzling performance on Friday as she left The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in New York.

The Hustlers star, 54, turned up the heat in a plunging pink dress that showed off her ample cleavage and had a slit at the front as she stopped to sign autographs for fans.

She paired the look with silver peep-toe heels, an oversized gray coat and a silver clutch in her hand. Her caramel brown locks were styled straight for the outing.

The beauty oozed delicate glamor during her performance, in which she discussed her latest film and album, This Is Me… Now.

Her outing comes after she shocked fans when she sang about her spicy sex life with husband Ben Affleck, 51, in a new song from the album.

During her busy day, the star also joined Apple Music Radio host Ebro Darden and Ja Rule to talk about her projects.

For that outing, she stunned in tiny black leather shorts with a cream hoodie and a fur jacket. JLo paired her shorts and sweater with sheer black stockings and sky-high black platform shoes.

She wore her hair pulled back into a sleek, low ponytail and accessorized with large gold earrings and ombre lens sunglasses.

The star, whose latest musical project is dedicated to her renewed love with Affleck after twenty years apart, describes her raunchy love life with the actor in graphic lyrics of the song Greatest Love Story Never Told.

The star sings, “Missing your body, climbing on top of me, sliding into me, the way I ride it, bodies aligned, look at our timing.”

The actress shows her romantic side in decidedly less striking lyrics, singing: “It's fate how we found each other twice in one life.”

She also sings, “I've tried life without you, been thinking about you for you don't know how long.” And we still have so much time left, this time we won't let go.”

'Twenty years ago it feels like time stood still. We are living in the greatest love story ever told.”

'We never let it go and never told anyone. We could have been the greatest love story never told.”

Jennifer and Ben famously rekindled their romance 18 years after calling off their engagement in 2003. They eventually got married in Las Vegas and again in Georgia in 2022.

She is releasing three projects about her famous search for love: an ambitious music film entitled This Is Me… Now: A Love Story, her album This Is Me… Now, and a documentary about the making of the film and record, The greatest love story that has never been told.

In a long interview with Varietyit is revealed that Lopez had used love letters written by Affleck while brainstorming her new album.

The documentary captures the moment Ben encounters a group of writers searching through the collection of letters. For inspiration, Jennifer provided her colleagues with the letters, a collection of writings that Affleck had called “The Greatest Love Story Never Told.”

Variety reports that Affleck seemed “stunned” when he saw that the letters had been delivered to his wife's colleagues.

'I really found the beauty, the poetry and the irony in the fact that this is the greatest love story that has never been told. If you make a record about it, it's a bit like storytelling,” Ben said to the camera.

The Oscar-winning filmmaker offered his wife a lot of guidance in the making of her film, which she financed herself.

“He realized this was a surreal, fantastic journey we were on,” she explained.

Jennifer was advised by her husband to keep the film “very tight” as she was contributing her own money to the project.

She recalled her husband explaining the filmmaking process to her: “Ben told me, 'You're going to write it, and then you're going to film it,'” she recalled.

“When you're done, you do a rough cut, see what it takes, and reshoot for three days.” Then I said, 'I can't do that.' that — I'm out of money!” But he said, “You're going to re-record for a few days, and then you're going to go back in and edit it. And you are going to tell your story.”

Affleck was shown the final cut of the film last year and praised his wife's filmmaking efforts. “He said, 'You made a movie. For you. You made a great movie. You did it,'” she recalled.

“Honestly, I don't care what happens now. That's the biggest compliment I can get,” she said.

This Is Me… Now: A Love Story will be released this Friday, February 16 on Amazon Prime Video.

More than three years after a whirlwind of conspiracy theories that the 2020 election was stolen culminated in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, the originators of many of the false allegations are now being forced to admit — some under oath — that is no evidence to support their bizarre claims.

Lawyers from the conservative group True the Vote spoke on Wednesday admitted to a state court in Georgia that they had no evidence to support their claim of illegal “ballot trafficking” in the state during the 2020 election and the 2021 Senate runoff.

And earlier this month, former Project Veritas leader James O'Keefe said: issued a statement after one of his sources recanted his story about fraud in Erie, Pa. “I am aware of no evidence or other allegation that election fraud occurred at the Erie Post Office during the 2020 presidential election,” Mr. O’Keefe said.

The recordings are known. Nor could the conspirators of many other false theories about the 2020 election when forced to provide evidence that would hold up in court.

In the days immediately following the 2020 election, Rudolph W. Giuliani, then a lawyer for Mr. Trump, claimed that the election was “an absolute fraud.” Days later, under questioning by a Pennsylvania judge, he admitted: “This is not a fraud case.” Last year, Mr. Giuliani admitted that public comments he made saying two election workers in Georgia had committed voter fraud were false.

The untruths have had consequences. Former President Donald J. Trump and 19 of his allies were indicted on multiple charges over their efforts to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia. Fox News agreed to pay $787.5 million to settle defamation claims over the network's promotion of misinformation about Dominion election machines during the 2020 election. Mr. Giuliani was ordered to pay $148 million in damages to the two election workers.

Mr. Giuliani was among several election deniers who privately admitted that evidence was lacking.

“We have a lot of theories,” he told the leader of the Arizona Legislature after the 2020 election, according to Jan. 6 committee testimony. “We just don't have the evidence.”

True the Vote's admission that it did not have any evidence of ballot trafficking further undermined the claims that formed the basis for the debunked voter fraud film “2,000 Mules.” The film, despite its false claims, reached a wide audience.

And while the false conspiracy theories continue to be dismissed, Trump continues to perpetuate the election lies in his campaign speeches and public appearances.

The mess of conspiracy theories about a stolen and rigged election has become dogma for a large faction of the conservative base, irreparably damaging their confidence in the nation's electoral system and creating an election denial movement that has overwhelmed large parts of the Republican Party apparatus .

In August, nearly 70 percent of Republican voters did not believe President Biden's 2020 victory was legitimate. from a CNN poll. An opinion poll was published in June Monmouth University found that 30 percent of Americans believe Biden won in 2020 only because of voter fraud.

The two polls were conducted after numerous conspiracy theories about the 2020 election were proven false by the courts, making it unlikely that further rejection of the 2020 falsehoods will have a major effect on the 2024 election.

That may be partly because voters in today's hyper-polarized climate are attracted to excuses for losses, such as cheating, said Matthew Germer, board director of the R Street Institute, a conservative organization. Another factor: these lies make money for the liars.

“Conspiracy theories are great for fundraising, but terrible for democracy,” Mr. Germer said. “And that again preys on our tendency to want to be on the winning side.”

He added: “I am optimistic that the more of these conspiracies crumble, it will undermine the credibility of those who peddle them.”

“People can only really take so much,” he said. “But I think the question remains where those limits are and how long this can last.”

Prince William will probably give his wife as much space as possible to recover, according to the former press secretary of Queen Elizabeth II.

Ailsa Anderson, in conversation with Camilla Tominey GBNewssaid she believes the Prince of Wales, 41, will “protect” his wife from the fallout as she recovers, as well as caring for their three children.

It comes amid mounting pressure on the prince, who is also stepping up his duties as his father King Charles, 75, battles cancer.

Ailsa's post about William comes as Wales marks Children's Mental Health Week on their social media account.

The former press secretary said, “I I think William will try to protect her from as much pressure as possible. I hear they have gone to Sandringham next week for a half term week to recuperate.

Prince William (pictured, left) will likely give his wife Kate (pictured, right) space to recover, according to Queen Elizabeth II's former press secretary Ailsa Anderson.

“And I think he'll try to give her as much space as she needs to recover.”

She also addressed critics who accused Wales of not doing enough before the 42-year-old Princess of Wales had surgery.

Ailsa said: 'Give them a break! For Prince William, family and duty go hand in hand.”

According to Ailsa, Prince William 'does not want to overshadow' his father and his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, when she was reigning monarch.

This, she added, was despite the “stardust” given to him and Princess Kate.

Ailsa continued: “When the Queen became Queen, she was 26 years old, so she had that stardust too.

'She was that glamorous, young, vulnerable, beautiful queen. So that actually happened to her.'

She went on to say that she believes William “is very much his own man, and he will go the extra mile in whatever way he wants to.”

And that, the former press secretary, may be 'a little different than before. There is no real rule book.”

She continued, “We don't know what they're doing behind the scenes.

Very little is known about Kate's condition, other than that she had to undergo abdominal surgery.

It is also known that she has spent quite a lonely time – about two weeks in hospital recovering, and is unlikely to make any public appearances until around Easter.

However, the couple announced via Instagram a few days ago that the royal left the hospital after a stay of about two weeks so that she could recover at home.
