Harry and Meghan have reached out to Prince William and Kate following her shock cancer diagnosis.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to have had ‘private’ contact with the Prince and Princess of Wales last night.

It is not clear whether the contact was a phone call, a video call or a series of messages of support. It is not known whether Harry would fly back to Britain.

Last night it was also claimed in the United States that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex only learned about Kate’s condition at the same time the world heard the news.

In addition, sources also told the New York Post that the couple had “no idea” about Kate’s illness.

Harry and Meghan were seen at an arts event at SoFi Stadium in California last night, ahead of the Princess of Wales’ cancer announcement

The contact between the two brothers was revealed by ITV Royal Editor Chris Ship.

The 39-year-old Duke of Sussex has previously described Kate as the ‘big sister I never had’ when she got engaged to William 11 years ago.

However, his relationship with the Prince and Princess of Wales has broken down following the bitter aftermath of Megxit.

Kate last met Harry after the Queen’s death in September 2022, when they went on a walk around Windsor with their husbands.

The Princess of Wales announced her diagnosis in a video message yesterday, explaining that the cancer was discovered after her abdominal surgery.

She said: ‘The operation was successful but tests after the operation revealed cancer was present.

‘You can imagine that this took time. It took me time to recover from major surgery before I could start my treatment.

‘But most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that suits them and to reassure them that I will be fine.’

Hours after the news, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released a short statement wishing the Princess of Wales and her family “health and healing.”

The couple said they hoped Kate and her family could “do this privately and in peace.”

Last month, Harry returned to Britain after taking an emergency flight from the US to visit the king following his cancer diagnosis.

The Duke cleared his diary and made the trip alone, leaving Meghan and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet at home in California.

But there was no reconciliation between Harry and his brother, the Prince of Wales, during the visit, after the duke spent about 45 minutes at Clarence House to see Charles.

He last appeared alongside the Windsors and Waleses at the king’s coronation, but immediately afterwards rushed home to celebrate his son’s fourth birthday.

Since stepping down as working royals in 2020 and moving to California with their family, the Sussexes have made accusations and grievances against the monarchy and members of Harry’s family.

The Duke’s allegations against his family seemed unrelenting in the wake of Megxit with his interview with Oprah and, in the months after the Queen’s death, his Netflix documentary and memoir Spare.

There were allegations of racism regarding Archie’s skin color before he was born – with the comments ultimately said to have come from two senior royals – and it is claimed that Kensington Palace lied to protect William over reports that he was Harry would have bullied from the royal family.

The Duke also accused William of physically attacking him and throwing him into a dog litter box after Meghan, teasing him about his panic attacks and encouraging him, along with Kate, to wear a Nazi uniform to a fancy dress party.

While Charles and Harry are said to still talk to each other, William has reportedly not been in contact with his brother for quite some time.

Full speech by Princess of Wales

I wanted to take this opportunity to personally thank you for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding while I was recovering from surgery.

It’s been an incredibly tough few months for our whole family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful.

In January I had major abdominal surgery in London and at the time my condition was deemed to be non-cancerous.

The operation was successful.

However, tests after the surgery revealed that cancer was present. My medical team therefore recommended that I undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.

This obviously came as a huge shock, and William and I have done everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.

As you can imagine, this has taken time. It took me time to recover from major surgery before I could start my treatment.

But most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that suits them, and to reassure them that I will be fine.

As I told them; I am doing well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirit.

Having William by my side is also a great source of comfort and reassurance. As does the love, support and kindness shown by so many of you. It means so much to both of us.

We hope you understand that we as a family now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment.

My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery.

At this time I also think of all those whose lives have been touched by cancer.

To anyone facing this disease in any form, please do not lose faith and hope. You are not alone.

Blake Lively has issued a groveling apology for making an ill-advised Kate Middleton joke, days before the Royal announced she has cancer.

The actress, 36, was slammed by fans after plugging her drinks range on March 13 – addressing the photo editing controversy surrounding a family photo of the Princess of Wales, 42, and her children taken in Britain on Mother’s Day released. .

She wrote, “I’m so excited to share this new photo I took today to announce our 4 new @bettybuzz and @bettybooze products! Now you know why I’m missing.’

In the wake of Middleton’s announcement of her health crisis on Friday, Lively wrote on Instagram, “I’m sure no one cares today, but I feel like I need to acknowledge this.”

“I made a stupid post about the ‘photoshop fails’ frenzy and, oh man, that post bummed me out today.”

Fans told Lively she should be ‘ashamed of herself’ and accused her of hypocrisy for keeping the names and genders of her children secret while ‘mocking’ Kate for wanting privacy.

Lively’s original post has now been deleted.

Blake was among a number of celebrities to make rude comments about Kate’s time off – with Kim Kardashian, Andy Cohen and John Oliver all making light of the drama.

From Instagram posts to ill-informed late-night pieces, they cast doubt on whether it was really the princess spotted in a farm shop with Prince William, jokingly comparing her to the ‘Weekend at Bernies’.

No one – except Blake – has retracted their comments since Kate’s sad announcement.

Kardashian has been criticized by fans for her Instagram post ‘On the way to find Kate’ – days before the Royal announced she was battling cancer.

On Sunday, Kardashian, 43, shared photos posing next to her sports car as she weighed speculation about the Princess of Wales’s whereabouts, but the post faced an avalanche of criticism after Middleton revealed her diagnosis on Friday.

Furious followers flooded the comments section, writing: ‘You need to delete this!’, ‘Kate Middleton has cancer Kim’ and ‘She’s getting cancer treatment… this didn’t turn out well.’

Others wrote: ‘Busy trying to get treatment for the cancer she has been diagnosed with’; ‘I would take this down and apologize, she has cancer’; “Take down your stupid post about Kate!” — before calling Kardashian a “snake.”

At the time of publication, Kardashian’s post remains live, with the caption unedited.

Before the diagnosis was revealed, Kardashian’s commentators had already branded the star ‘classless’, ‘tacky’ and ‘ignorant’ for fueling speculation about Kate’s whereabouts following her abdominal surgery.

In a deeply personal, unprecedented and emotional video message filmed in Windsor on Wednesday, Kate revealed that the news had come as a “huge shock” and that she and William have “done everything we can to process and manage this privately.” of our young family’.

It came days after she was seen smiling with Prince William as they left their favorite farm shop close to their home in Windsor, and she said her husband had been “a great source of comfort and reassurance” during her battle with cancer.

From a bench surrounded by daffodils and spring blossoms, the future queen said: ‘It has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that suits them, and to reassure them that I will do that. OK.

Catherine’s cancer was only discovered after she underwent major abdominal surgery at the London Clinic in January. Kensington Palace has said it will not share details about what type of cancer the princess has, or what stage of cancer it is, and has asked people not to speculate.

The King – who is currently undergoing cancer treatment himself – and the Queen were both informed of the news.

The king and queen said they “will continue to offer their love and support to the entire family during this difficult time.”

It is not known whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were informed before the 6pm announcement.

“We wish Kate and the family health and healing, and hope they can do this privately and in peace,” the couple said in a brief statement to Harper’s Bazaar.

Harry, who once described Kate as the ‘big sister I never had’ and affectionately called her ‘Cath’, is estranged from his brother and sister-in-law. It remains to be seen whether he will fly back to Britain to see her.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has said the Princess of Wales has “the love and support of the whole country” as her battle with cancer was revealed tonight, with well wishes pouring in from around the world, including from the White House where Joe Biden is “incredibly sad” to hear the news’. Her courage in revealing her cancer to the world has also been praised.

Finally, the world can stop speculating and coming up with countless fantastic conspiracy theories or tasteless ‘jokes’ about what happened to Kate Middleton.

I’m sure there are plenty of people who were embarrassed when the news broke of her cancer diagnosis on Friday. But the one person I think of in all of this, the one person my heart goes out to in every way, is Prince William.

This poor man.

From his parents’ divorce when he was just ten years old, to their subsequent divorce, quickly followed by the untimely death of his adoring, adored mother, we have witnessed time and time again how life threw hardships at him.

In recent years he has dealt with increasing disagreements with his only sibling Harry and sister-in-law Meghan, his father’s cancer, and now this – an unexpected and tragic burden on top of everything else.

The distance from Harry is undoubtedly felt particularly keenly.

The only person I think about in all of this, the only person my heart goes out to in every way, is William. In recent years he has faced increasing disagreements with his only sibling Harry and sister-in-law Meghan, most recently his father’s cancer, and now this – an unexpected and tragic burden on top of everything else.

After all, he’s the only person who fully understands what this is like. The only person to have endured both divorce and the death of a parent, in such a devastating public setting, is irreconcilably estranged.

There were certainly too many stones thrown, too much pain and too many injuries for Harry to provide any comfort or strength to William.

William who now carries the weight of the crown as his 75-year-old father undergoes his own treatment for cancer; William must support his young family like never before.

As someone who has danced with cancer myself, I know how overwhelming it is for your partner. My husband was terrified when I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma in 2014, much more terrified, he later told me, than I seemed.

Our children were 14, 13 and the twins were 11. While everyone gathered around me, few thought to contact my husband.

He stepped in to care for the children, driving them back and forth, making sure their lives continued to progress normally, all the while worrying about what might happen to me.

When friends called him, they asked about me, and like William, he bore much of the burden alone, putting on a brave face, knowing he had to be strong for all of us.

We now know that the prince pulled out of his godfather King Constantine’s memorial service at 11am last month because he had just heard of Kate’s cancer. Two days later he was back at work and showed tremendous courage and devotion to duty.

We will hear endless speculation about Kate in the coming days, but few think about the partners and everything they have to go through when their loved one is struck by a serious illness.

William’s pain is even deeper right now considering his three young children: George, 10, Charlotte, 8, and Louis, just 5.

They are not much younger than William was when his mother died, and that trauma and grief, the specific fear of losing a mother, is undoubtedly something he will bend heaven and earth to protect them.

We don’t have a prognosis for Kate. She says that she is receiving preventive chemotherapy, that she feels ‘good’ and is ‘getting stronger every day’. We are all thinking of her and praying.

But illness is a great equalizer.

The distance from Harry is undoubtedly felt particularly keenly. After all, he's the only person who fully understands what this is like. The only person to have endured both divorce and the death of a parent, in such a devastating public setting, is irreconcilably estranged.

No matter how much help the Waleses have, how many nannies or nurses there are, William must now be a steadfast force for his children and wife.

And while Kate may need space to break down, to lie awake at night with fear dancing around her head, William will feel like he needs to be a rock, as all partners must do when their loved ones are so seriously affected are.

This is as much William’s struggle as it is Kate’s, but he, as stoic and kind in public as his mother always was, will now be under pressure to keep that mask on at home too.

No matter how scared he is, he can’t show it.

He has to keep smiling for the children and reassure them that mommy will be fine.

Children are remarkably observant: if he lets his fears surface, they will notice them, so he must keep it all deeply hidden while surrounding them with the safety, security, and love they need right now.

He is not only a husband, a father and a prince; his main role at this time is caregiver.

Whatever your life revolved around – family, work, charities, royal garden parties – everything stops when hospitals and doctors take over your daily life.

Considering everything William has been through in his life, we can only hope that he has trusted friends and loved ones to care for him as well.

They need to let him know that no matter how stoic he has to be for Kate and their children, he needs to know that he can crack, to let out that scared fifteen-year-old boy who just lost his mother.

The Princess of Wales has touchingly revealed how she is reassuring her young children amid her battle with cancer after the announcement she is fighting the disease.

The mother-of-three says she and Prince William have explained the situation to their children George, Charlotte and Louis, after the ‘huge shock’ of her diagnosis.

Princess Catherine said had told them she is doing ‘well and getting stronger every day’ and that she was ‘focusing on the things that will help me heal’.

The 42-year-old also revealed that she was comforted by having her husband by her side, and that they were doing ‘everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family’.

In a televised address, the future Queen revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer after undergoing a successful abdominal operation in January, and that doctors have advised her to undergo preventative chemotherapy.

Speaking from a bench surrounded by daffodils and spring blossom, the Princess of Wales revealed her shock diagnosis this evening.

‘I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, personally, for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I have been recovering from surgery,’ she said.

‘It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful.’

Kensington Palace has said it will not be sharing details of what kind of cancer the princess has, or what stage of cancer it is and has asked people not to speculate.

The future Queen revealed that she and her husband have been focusing on their children during this difficult time.

She said: ‘But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be ok.

‘As I have said to them; I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits.

‘Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too.

‘As is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both.’

It is understood that the King – who is also currently undergoing cancer treatment himself – and the Queen have both been informed of the news.

Earlier she revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer after undergoing a planned operation at The London Clinic two months ago.

‘In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous,’ she said.

‘The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.

‘My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.’

The Princess of Wales added that the news had left the family shaken and they have been coming to terms with her diagnosis in private.

She said: ‘This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.

‘As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment.’

Catherine added that she and her family would like privacy while she battles the disease.

She said: ‘We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment.

‘My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery.

This evening’s announcement will send shockwaves around the world and came after weeks of speculation – and wild conspiracy theories – about her health. It also creates a fresh crisis for the British Royal Family at a time where King Charles is also battling cancer. In January Sarah, the Duchess of York, was diagnosed with skin cancer, just six months after being treated for breast cancer.

It comes after sick social media trolls spent weeks spreading wild rumours about her wellbeing as palace aides refused to comment on her recovery from abdominal surgery in January.

The princess is now on what has been described as a ‘recovery pathway’ having commenced a course of chemotherapy in late February.

It is for this reason that Prince William pulled out of a memorial service for his late godfather, King Constantine of Greece.

Kensington Palace has strongly asked people not to speculate on what cancer she has.

However they say that she is in ‘good spirits and focused on her recovery’.

‘She is hugely grateful to the medical team for the care they are providing to her,’ a spokesman said.

‘She now needs time, space and privacy to complete her treatment and make a full recovery.’

It is understood that the announcement was made tonight not because of unpleasant social media speculation about her health and whereabouts – although that has been upsetting and unpleasant – but because her children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louise, five, broke up from school today, which gave them the opportunity to take them away privately and protect them from the inevitable public shock.

A spokesman for the princess said: ‘We will not be sharing any further private medical information. The Princess has a right to medical privacy, as we all do.’

However her spokesman confirmed: ‘The Princess is now on a recovery pathway having commenced a course of preventative chemotherapy…in late February.’

The palace will not confirm how long her treatment is expected to last and has asked the media and public not to speculate.

It also said it would not confirm where her treatment would be taking place, a spokesman adding: ‘We will not be sharing any further private medical information. The Princess has a right to medical privacy, as we all do.’

Asked when the princess was given the news by her doctors, a spokesman explained: ‘Once post-operative tests had been completed and results reviewed.’

They added: ‘The Princess wanted to share this information when she and The Prince felt it was right for them as a family. ‘

A source said it had been ‘an incredibly tough couple of months for the entire family’ and it had been important for the princess to come to terms with her diagnosis, to recover form her surgery and begin her pathway to recovery.

Throughout this period the couple’s children have been her priority.

It is understood that William and Kate wanted to tell their children at a time that was right for them and to allow them to understand and process the news before it became public.

With the children having broken up from Lambrook School today for the Easter holidays this afternoon, they decided that now was the right time to share the statement.

Sources say their concern recently, despite global and social media speculation, was to put Catherine’s health and their children first.

It is now hoped, aides said, the speculation around the princess comes to a stop.

Catherine is apparently determined to go about her normal routine, which she sees as an important part of her recovery, and has asked for people to respect her privacy.

The Princess of Wales’s speech in full

I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, personally, for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I have been recovering from surgery.

It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful.

In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful.

However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.

My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.

This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.

As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment.

But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be ok.

As I have said to them; I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits.

Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too.

As is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both.

We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment.

My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery.

At this time, I am also thinking of all those whose lives have been affected by cancer.

For everyone facing this disease, in whatever form, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone.

Prince William found out his wife Kate had cancer before he pulled out of attending King Constantine of Greece’s memorial service.

The Prince of Wales’s absence from the St George’s Chapel event at Windsor Castle on February 27 had raised eyebrows, but tonight’s revelation about the princess’s health has shed new light on why he stayed away.

Kate had only just been diagnosed with cancer ahead of beginning chemotherapy, it was revealed tonight – after Buckingham Palace had initially said the previous month her condition was non-cancerous.

Royal aides are now expected to rally around William all the more as he steps back from frontline duties and looks after the couple’s children as his wife recuperates.

The prince has already been adjusting his royal duties to devote even more time to his family after Kate was first admitted to the London Clinic in January.

The couple have both been dedicated to doing their fair share of the school run each morning and afternoon since their three children began attending £24,000-a-year Lambrook School near Ascot in Berkshire in September 2022.

The co-ed institution is not far from the family’s Frogmore Cottage home on the Windsor estate – and is also convenient for visits by the princess’s parents.

Carole and Michael Middleton live just 33 miles away in Bucklebury, Berkshire, and the strong mother-daughter bond has been a key feature of troubled recent months.

Kate’s siblings Pippa, 40, and James, 36, are also close at hand in Bucklebury.

William’s decision not to attend the memorial service for King Constantine came as a surprise at the time, with the reason described as ‘personal reasons’.

Also missing was his father King Charles, himself receiving treatment for cancer.

Queen Camilla was instead the most senior member of the Royal Family in attendance, with William’s uncle Prince Andrew also enjoying a prominent role as he led fellow royals on foot to the service.

Constantine was the godfather of William, who is said to have called the Greek royal family to apologise for not being there.

The Prince was due to read from Revelation 21:1-7, a popular reading for funerals that begins ‘Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth’.

He had cleared his diary of official duties to help support Kate’s recovery, although did visit a homelessness charity’s base in Sheffield on Tuesday this week.

The couple were seen being driven from Windsor on March 11, although only William attended that afternoon’s Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey in central London while Kate continued on to a private appointment elsewhere.

Their children Prince George, 10, eight-year-old Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, five, all attend Lambrook School which starts its summer term on April 17.

Royal experts have said the parents chose Lambrook because they wanted their children to have a ‘different kind of schooling’ to their own.

George and Charlotte were previously pupils at Thomas’s Battersea while Louis attended Willcocks Nursery in Kensington, both schools in London.

William and Kate were pictured strolling into Lambrook School’s grounds hand-in-hand with their children for their first day there in September 2022.

They are believed to have been sharing ‘school run’ duties but William has now been taking on more responsibilities – as have Kate’s parents Carole, 69, and Michael, 74.

Earlier this month Carole was snapped at the wheel of a car driving her daughter – pictured for the first time in two months – around Windsor Castle.

The photos were published by US gossip website TMZ but not in the UK after Kensington Palace appealed for her to be able to recuperate in private.

Insiders who knew the Middleton children at school have said her family was renowned for ‘doing everything to the very highest of standards’.

A fellow parent told Tatler recently: ‘There were huge picnics on sports days, the smartest tennis rackets — that kind of thing.

‘It made the rest of us all feel rather hopeless. Ultimately, Carole has played a blinder as a mother – not only are all of her children unfairly good-looking, they are also famously charming.

‘Always the first to write a thank-you letter, they dance all night and are still the first up in the morning, plumping cushions and washing up.’

Two years ago, Carole and Michael Middleton made a sombre appearance as they joined senior members of the Royal Family for the late Queen Elizabeth II’s committal service.

Months later, they were seen in high spirits as they arrived at Westminster Abbey for the coronation of King Charles III – arriving alongside their children Pippa and James.

Kate’s mother has also always been on hand to support Kate for her annual ‘Together At Christmas’ Carol Service – a known passion project of the princess’s.

Other get-togethers have seen the mother and daughter huddled up alongside each other at Royal Ascot – and in summer 2022, Kate was seen blowing her parents a kiss as the family attended Wimbledon.

Kate, William and their children have their main home as four-bedroom Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor grounds in Berkshire, with no live-in staff although they do have a nanny, housekeeper and security team living nearby.

The Grade II listed property is owned by the Crown Estate and the couple are said to be paying ‘market rent’.

Lambrook School has just 610 boys and girls aged three to 13 and is mixed so all three children can attend together, cutting down on school runs and security teams.

It offers boarding but George, Charlotte and Louis have all been day pupils there.

The Good Schools Guide says the prep school has a ‘heart of gold’ and offers pupils ‘total freedom to explore, provided you’ve got your wellies on’.

It boasts of ‘first-class teaching and superb facilities’ including a 25-metre swimming pool, a nine-hole golf course, an Astroturf, squash court and a new £6million Queen’s Building for ICT and academic learning.

Hello! magazine reported the royal couple take part in all the important school activities, including ‘queueing for the tombola’ in a recent fundraising drive.

The future King and Queen are described as discreetly slipping into events such as carol concerts, fitting occasions around their busy schedules.

The Princess of Wales has announced tonight that she has been diagnosed with cancer aged 42 and is undergoing ‘preventative’ chemotherapy.

In a deeply emotional video message, filmed at Windsor on Wednesday, Catherine revealed the news had come as a ‘huge shock’ and that she and William ‘have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family’.

It came days after she was seen smiling with Prince William as they left their favourite farm shop close to their Windsor home.

Speaking from a bench surrounded by daffodils and spring blossom, she said: ‘It has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be ok.

‘As I have said to them; I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits. Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too. As is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both.’

Catherine’s cancer was discovered only after she underwent major abdominal surgery at The London Clinic in January. Kensington Palace has said it will not be sharing details of what kind of cancer the princess has, or what stage of cancer it is and has asked people not to speculate.

It is understood that the King – who is also currently undergoing cancer treatment himself – and the Queen have both been informed of the news.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has said the Princess of Wales has ‘the love and support of the whole country’ as her cancer battle was revealed this evening.

At the time of her abdominal surgery in January, Kensington Palace said that it was non-cancerous. They have confirmed again tonight that is the case and that no tests had confirmed the presence of cancer. However post-operative tests subsequently found that cancer ‘had been present’.

It is understood that the announcement was made tonight not because of unpleasant social media speculation about her health and whereabouts – although that has been upsetting – but because her children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five, broke up from school today, which gave them the opportunity to take them away privately and protect them from the inevitable public shock.

In her video statement the Princess, dressed casually in a stripped Breton top and jeans, said: ‘I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, personally, for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I have been recovering from surgery. It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful.

‘In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.

‘This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family. As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be ok.

‘We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment. My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery.’

Even amidst her own personal anguish, there was a message for fellow cancer sufferers: ‘At this time, I am also thinking of all those whose lives have been affected by cancer. For everyone facing this disease, in whatever form, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone.’

A source said this has been a ‘real shock’ for the couple and they have needed to take time to process the news personally and bring their young children to a place that they could ‘process this news about their mother’.

They have always wanted to shield them from the inevitable coverage her diagnosis will cause.

However she does have a very positive approach to her recovery and a positive mindset moving forwards.

However it has been confirmed that the family will not be going to church at Windsor next Easter.

It is understood that Catherine wanted the time and space to come to terms with her diagnosis, to recover from her surgery and to then begin her pathway to recovery.

Throughout this period, her and William’s three young children have been their priority.

They wanted to be able to tell them at a time that was right for them and to allow them to understand and process the news before it became public, it is understood.

With the children now away from school on their Easter holidays, the couple feel now is the right time to share their update.

It has not been confirmed whether the princess is being treated on the NHS or privately.

However in selecting healthcare providers for The Princess, a balance of factors would have been considered by her medical team.

These include the most appropriate specialists for the condition, and the potential impact on other patients or on the resources of their healthcare providers and the privacy and security of the princess.

Kensington Palace have said they understand the worldwide interested the princess’s announcement would generate but have stressed that they will only provide an update when there is something significant to say in order to allow her to continue her treatment in private.

A spokesman said: ‘Their Royal Highnesses understand the interest this update will generate and are grateful for the public support they have received throughout this period. Kensington Palace will provide information, when the time is right, and The Princess is able to restart work and her duties. In the meantime, we would ask that the family’s privacy is respected. ‘

The Mail understands that Prince William will carry out engagements when the children return to school after the Easter holidays.

A spokesman said: ‘The Prince will continue to balance supporting his wife and family and maintaining his official duties as he has done since the start of the year. ‘

A source emphasised that this has been a difficult period for the Wales family. William has been focused on supporting his wife and children, while continuing to undertake engagements and work, and is extremely grateful for the support from the public.

The princess will remain out of the public eye for the time being.

Kensington Palace said: ‘The Princess will return to official duties when she is cleared to do so by her medical team. She is in good spirits and is focused on making a full recovery.’

It is understood she may be keen to attend events as and when she feels able to, in line with medical advice. Any initial public events will not necessarily signal a return to a regular public schedule.

A source added that she is in good spirits and focused on her recovery. She is hugely grateful to the medical team for the care they are providing to her and now needs to take the time and space to complete her treatment and make a full recovery.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s supporter Christopher Bouzy has doubled down on a bizarre conspiracy theory about the Princess of Wales, claiming that she hasn’t been seen in public since Christmas Day.

The Tech CEO, 48, from New York, who appeared in the Sussexes’ Netflix documentary, took to X, formerly Twitter, to share his doubts about the recent sighting of Kate Middleton and Prince William shopping at a farm shop in Windsor.

‘Serious question: Has any reporter taken the time to go to Windsor Farm and ask the staff if William and Kate were there over the weekend? Besides the man who was paid for the video, has anyone else gone on the record about seeing William and Kate at the farm?,’ he wrote.

He added in a second tweet: ‘So, let me see if I understand this correctly. Kate’s video is one of the biggest stories of 2024, and not a single person who works at the farm/store has gone on the record about seeing William and Kate? So, just some random guy is the primary source of the story? Sounds legit.’

Earlier this week, he shared a compilation of clips of the royal couple walking to compare it to their recent sighting at the Windsor Farm Shop on Saturday.

He claims the clips show that the video of two people walking in Windsor isn’t the royal couple, joining a chorus of outlandish conspiracy theorists online.

‘I’ve compiled a few older videos of William and Kate walking together, as well as the recent video from Windsor Farm. Take a look and decide for yourself if it’s Kate or not. In my opinion, we still haven’t seen Kate in public,’ he wrote on X.

Many people breathed a sigh of relief when they saw ‘happy, relaxed and healthy’ Kate smiling as she briskly walked away from the store holding onto a full shopping bag on Saturday.

But others on social media have continued to push crazed claims – including that the woman in the video was not the royal but in fact a body double.

Mr Bouzy appeared in Harry and Meghan’s Netflix doc after his company BotSentinel issued a report saying the couple was on the receiving end of millions of trolls.

But Mr Bouzy, who previously tweeted that he thought that the Prince and Princess of Wales were ageing in ‘banana years’, has been accused of being a troll himself over a series of nasty posts.

In April 2023, he said the portrait released to mark what would have been Queen Elizabeth’s 97th birthday was photoshopped.

The image, which shows the late monarch posing with eight of her 12 great-grandchildren and two of her grandchidren at Balmoral, was taken just weeks before her death by the Princess of Wales.

This week, global picture agency Getty Images said the heartwarming image was ‘digitally enhanced at source’ having undertaken a review following the recent fallout from the Princess of Wales editing a Mother’s Day photo of herself with her three children.

He described the photograph as ‘beautiful’ on X.

Calling on people to ‘stop criticising’ snap, he added: ‘Yes, they Photoshopped it, and so what? It isn’t easy to get the perfect photo with 10 children. It appears they took multiple shots and then edited the photo to make it perfect. I would’ve done the same.’

In a later tweet about the snap, which was shared on the official social media accounts of The Prince and Princess of Wales, he wrote: ‘You can literally see where two sides of the sofa were spliced together, and there are pixels on the face that were not properly edited.

‘As I stated in my original tweet, I don’t see anything wrong with it. But to claim it’s not Photoshopped is false. It’s been edited.’

He also added: ‘Also, the Queen was probably exhausted and didn’t want to sit through a long photoshoot.’

The late monarch appeared in her element with Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor, James, Earl of Wessex, Lena Tindall, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Isla Phillips, Prince Louis, Mia Tindall, Lucas Tindall and Savannah Phillips.

Mr Bouzy’s claims come as the shopper who filmed the royal’s first public appearance since undergoing abdominal surgery has slammed cruel conspiracy theory trolls as ‘delusional’.

Nelson Silva, 40, said he saw the Princess of Wales ‘with his own eyes’ on Saturday as she popped down to her local farm shop.

BBC sports reporter Sonja McLaughlan appeared to be amongst those fuelling the bizarre suggestion when she told her followers on X that it was ‘obviously not Kate’ in the clip. In a now deleted tweet, she even suggested the heir to the throne could have been replaced by an actor.

Speaking for the first time since he encountered the Princess of Wales in the meat section of the farm shop, Mr Silva told the Sun: ‘I’m not so much shocked that these comments have continued, I’m just confused how exactly they can continue.

‘This is a video clearly showing her and William. I saw them with my own eyes. It was a completely relaxed situation.

‘What more do you need to lay off her? I thought after this was released they’d go quiet. But these people are so invested in the drama now.’

The father, who ran into the royals around lunchtime on Saturday at the Windsor Farm Shop, believed releasing the footage would put an abrupt end to the wild rumours surrounding Kate’s health but fears it did the opposite.

After the clip emerged people suggested Kate was too tall in the video for it to be her, while another crazy theory claimed the footage had been recorded in December because ‘Christmas decorations’ were in the background.

In under 24 hours the rumours about body doubles gained more than 12 millions views on X and more than 11 million on TikTok.

The Windsor local said he was ‘shocked’ and ‘confused’ as to why the conspiracy theories have continued. He said he saw the future King and Queen with his own eyes and ‘it was a completely relaxed situation’.

‘Even famous people are guilty,’ Mr Silva added. ‘People with a large platform online — they can’t admit they are wrong now because they look so delusional.’

He called for those pushing claims online to ‘lay off’ the Princess and stop plugging their baseless ‘rumours and lies’.

The father, who lives in the town with his wife and daughter, had recorded the couple to send back to his family Portugal.

He first saw Will and Kate inside the store, where they had been ‘talking to staff and laughing’, before watching them walk back into some fields to head towards their home Adelaide Cottage.

Kate’s weekend appearance marked the first time she had been seen out and about in public since undergoing planned abdominal surgery in January.

Despite Kensington Palace setting out a clear timeline for the Princess’ recovery – with her return to the public spotlight expected after the Easter Holidays conclude – online trolls have sparked bizarre theories.

Baseless and hurtful conspiracy theories being spread about her online included that she is dead, has been replaced by a body double or the Wales’ marriage is in trouble.

One royal source told the Telegraph: ‘Finally everyone can calm down’.

Yet BBC freelance reporter Ms McLaughlan came under fire for appearing to fan the flames of conspiracy theorists.

Ms McLaughlan wrote: ‘Disturbing that newspapers like The Times are reporting this as fact. Headline ‘Kate seen in public for the first time’ when it’s clearly not her. As someone has said. Could be a couple of lookalikes making mischief.’

Commenting on a video which compared the Princess in the footage to other past photos of herself, she added: ‘It’s so obviously not Kate. Some newspaper are reporting it as fact. But it’s not her. No conspiracy theorist but all very odd.’

The BBC declined to comment on the matter.

The body double claims led Britain’s ‘most realistic’ Kate Middleton lookalike to shut down the ‘crazy’ conspiracy theories that it is her in the farm shop video instead of the real Princess of Wales.

Heidi Agan, 43, who has made an income from impersonating the royal for more than a decade, said she ‘100 per cent’ believes it is Kate and William in the footage.

‘There has obviously been some speculation about whether it was Kate and William in that footage and stills,’ she told The Mirror.

‘In fact, my own social media has gone crazy as people think it is me, but I know it is not. I was at work at the time so I know that is not me. I 100 per cent believe that it is Kate Middleton and William in that video.’

‘So she is alive, and we can be sure about it. It has all gone too far now,’ she added.

You know what it’s like. You’re all dressed up, you’ve found the perfect pose, the camera’s about to click… and someone walks into the photo and photobombs your photo.

And it even happens with the royal housessays Claudia Connell, as she leaves behind some incredible memories…

THE ‘NATURAL’ WHO CHARMED CAMILLA

HI THERE!

Not many people get past Sir Chris Hoy, the six-time Olympic gold medal-winning cyclist. But in 2014, during the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, William, then the Duke of Cambridge, caught him.

Prince William’s impact on charities is “very personal” and he often works behind the scenes with homeless people, the CEO of one of the groups he works with has revealed.

Mick Clarke, chief executive of the homeless charity The Passage, said the Prince of Wales, 41, has “the ability to listen, talk and put people at ease.”

Speak with TatlerIn a piece exploring William’s future as king, Mr Clarke explained that the royal family has quietly volunteered for the charity on several occasions.

Other experts also discussed William’s commentary on the conflict in the Middle East and how, like his father, he will continue to “hold the space to speak out sparingly on carefully chosen issues.”

The future king, 41, a patron of more than 30 charities, first visited the Passage as a child with his mother Princess Diana – something he says he was ‘deeply moved’ by.

Speaking to Tatler, Mr Clarke said: ‘William’s impact is deeply personal’ […]

‘Two weeks before Christmas, the Prince came to our Resource Center in Victoria for a Christmas lunch for 150 people.

‘He would stay for an hour, helping with serving, washing dishes and talking to people. He ended up staying for two and a quarter minutes, during which time he went from table to table talking to everyone.”

‘William has the ability to listen, talk and put people at ease. During the lockdown of November 2020, he came to help three times.

‘It gave the team a boost that he took the time; it was his way of saying, “I support you; You’re doing a great job.’

In December, William praised the work of The Passage and said he was “deeply moved” when he visited the charity with Princess Diana as a child.

He shared a video explaining the charity’s ‘amazing work’, including ‘life-changing’ work to prevent homelessness and human trafficking, which was posted on X on ICAP’s 31st charity day.

“Having a place to call home is so precious. Every day, the Passage works tirelessly to achieve a society where homelessness does not exist and where everyone has a place to call home,” he said.

Tatler’s article, written by former BBC Royal Correspondent, Wesley Kerr OBE, also looks at how William can continue as king.

Speaking to Mr Kerr, The Times Royal Correspondent Valentine Lowe said William is ‘shaping’ the future of the company in a more relaxed way than his father.

‘He [The Prince of Wales] seeks its own way to be recognizable, to benefit everyone, in the context of a centuries-old institution undergoing significant challenges and turmoil, as head of a nation divided by difficult times, conflicts abroad and social and political uncertainty,” he said.

Charles is sympathetic to William’s approach and his desire to make time with his young family sacred. They are confidantes, as evidenced by the night of Queen Elizabeth’s death; they were both at Birkhall with Camilla, discussing funeral arrangements, while the rest of the grieving family were nearby at Balmoral, hosted by the Princess Royal.

‘Charles has spent almost sixty years in public life and is the most important statesman of our time, having been in the spotlight even longer than Joe Biden.

Last summer, William, 41, appeared relaxed as he linked up with salesman Dave Martin, 61, who has been a friend of the royal family since they hit the streets in 2021 with Big Issue sales.

But will the so-called ‘call me William’ approach be successful?

The prince has certainly led the way in ditching the stiff upper lip and taking a more practical approach to assignments.

In October he hugged his way through a room of Windrush veterans as he celebrated the Caribbean who helped rebuild post-war Britain – but drew the line at kissing.

The Prince of Wales was mobbed by well-wishers at the Grange Pavilion community center in Cardiff, but cheekily told them: ‘I draw the line at kissing!’

Later, as guests posed for a group photo, William laughed with Kate as they moved to a back row and led the Windrush veterans to the front, but the room erupted when the prince joked: “Who’s pinching my bum?”

Mr Low believes the royal family has put a lot of thought into its ‘call me William’ approach to the throne, wondering whether it would work if ‘the whole point of the royal family is mystical and different’ but he is keen to modernize the throne. monarchy.

It was a difficult start to the year for the future king. His father, King Charles, is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, while his wife, Princess of Wales, is recovering from abdominal surgery.

Kate Middleton has been working from home on an early years project that has been hailed as her ‘life’s work’ as she recovers from abdominal surgery.

The Princess of Wales, 42, launched the Royal Foundation Center for Early Childhood (RFCEC) Shaping Us project in January last year, aiming to highlight the importance of early childhood development in children.

Kensington Palace has confirmed that Kate will continue to work on the project while she recovers at home; the Center has funded a trial of a baby observation tool for health visitors to monitor young people’s social and emotional development.

The princess personally suggested the instrument could be used in Britain after seeing a similar system during a royal visit to Denmark, reports suggest. This means that she is very involved in the process and its results, which will be published today.

The news that she is being briefed suggests that she could be preparing to return to work as planned; Kensington Palace has insisted since January that she is ‘unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter’.

The Archbishop of Canterbury has called conspiracy theories about the Princess of Wales nothing more than ‘old-fashioned village gossip’ – while Keir Starmer urged the public to ‘speak out’ and leave her alone.

Online speculation has spread in recent weeks about the whereabouts of Kate, 42, as she continues to recover from abdominal surgery, with palace aides saying they would not comment on her recovery.

However, the Princess was captured on camera on Saturday by a member of the public happily walking around with Prince William outside the Windsor Farm Shop and reportedly looking ‘super relaxed’.

Conspiracy theories about Kate have spread like wildfire since her outing this weekend, with some claiming the images were not of Kate but instead a lookalike of the royal family.

The Archbishop of Canterbury has condemned the ‘gossip’ and said speculation about the princess’s health is ‘wrong’.

He told Times Radio: ‘I think we are obsessed with conspiracy and have little appreciation of the humanity of those caught in the glare of the news.

“People should have the opportunity to be sick, have surgery, whatever it is, and live their lives in peace without people demanding they prove something every other day.”

He added: ‘It’s extremely unhealthy. It’s just old-fashioned village gossip that can now travel around the world in seconds and we should turn away from that.

“Gossip like this is wrong.”

Sir Keir also urged the public to stop speculating about Kate’s health, telling them to ‘leave her alone’.

Asked if he feels sorry for Kate, he told Channel 5’s Jeremy Vine: ‘Yes. I think we should leave her alone.

“She has had a difficult operation and deserves privacy.”

He added: “We just have to leave her alone… That’s not really a political response, it’s a human response, as a father and as a human being.”

It had been hoped that the video would allay concerns about her health and discredit the bizarre, baseless and hurtful conspiracy theories being spread about her online.

A royal source told the Telegraph: ‘Finally everyone can calm down.’

However, the theories continue to spread now that the video has been published.

Among the speculation spread by cruel trolls is that the princess has died, or is using a body double or even her sister Pippa as a replacement. Unkind provocateurs have even suggested that she is in a coma or being simulated with AI.

The theories went crazy after publishing a photo on her official social media channels for Mother’s Day, when it became clear that the photo had been altered using Adobe Photoshop.

Several photo agencies issued rare ‘kill’ notices for the photo as it had been substantially altered – with online wannabe detectives pointing out the flaws in the photo, which Kate said she edited herself.

Matters did not improve when photo agency Getty Images said this weekend that an image of Queen Elizabeth II sitting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, also taken by Kate, had been “digitally enhanced at the source.”

And despite The Sun obtaining a video of William and Kate happily walking through the Windsor Farm Shop car park, social media remains unhappy that she is making a good recovery.

X, formerly Twitter, is flooded with “verified” users posting barely credible theories about Kate.

Kate has been working from home on an early years project hailed as her ‘life’s work’ as she recovered from abdominal surgery, it was reported today.

The Princess launched the Royal Foundation Center for Early Childhood (RFCEC) Shaping Us project in January last year, aiming to highlight the importance of early childhood development in children.

Kensington Palace has confirmed that Kate will continue to work on the project while she recovers at home; the Center has funded a trial of a baby observation tool for health visitors to monitor young people’s social and emotional development.

It comes as three London Clinic employees under investigation by management over claims they tried to access Kate’s personal medical records are believed to have been suspended.

Medical records are ‘readily available’ to doctors and nurses at the prestigious hospital where a staff member allegedly tried to look up details about the princess, a Care Quality Commission report has revealed.

But CQC inspectors concluded that patient files had been stored ‘securely’ at the London Clinic where Kate had her planned abdominal surgery and spent 13 days in January.

Their report also praised staff for treating patients with ‘compassion and dignity’ and respecting their ‘privacy and dignity’.

It revealed that the unannounced inspection was carried out in June 2021 after the CQC ‘received information that raised concerns about the safety and quality of service’.

The report added: ‘These concerns arose from several never-events and serious incidents and numerous whistleblowers around staff and culture.’
