Are you tired of being stuck in traffic jams? Soon you could fly over it in a £235,000 electric car.

Unlike most of its rivals, Alef Aeronautics’ Model A can actually be driven around on the street like a normal car.

But it’s also packed with propellers in the hood and trunk, allowing it to take off at any time and skip the line.

The lightweight two-seater – which should be in production in 2025 – has a road range of 320 kilometers and a flight range of 180 kilometers.

CEO Jim Dukhovny said he wanted to bring science fiction to life and build an ‘affordable’ flying car, which would likely cost closer to £25,000 if built on a large scale.

Alef Model A: Key specifications

  1. 100% electric
  2. 200 miles driving range
  3. Flight range of 100 miles
  4. 1-2 occupants
  5. £235,000
  6. Released in 2025

The carbon fiber frame – which is approximately 5.5 meters long and 2.5 meters wide – is designed to fit in any parking space or garage.

To drive on the road, the car uses four small motors in each of the wheels and drives similar to a normal electric car.

This leaves room for eight propellers at the front and back, which rotate independently at different speeds, so it can fly in any direction.

It uses a technology called distributed electric propulsion, where a mesh cover over the rotor blades provides airflow through the vehicle.

Its cruising speed in the air is 180 km/h, while on the road it will be limited to 40 to 55 km/h, despite being able to go much faster.

This is so that the vehicle – which weighs 350kg – can be classified as an ultralight ‘low speed vehicle’, a legal classification reserved for small electric vehicles such as golf carts, to comply with regulations.

Mr Dukhovny claimed that the car, which is intended for the general public, is relatively easy to use and takes only 15 minutes to learn.

The airborne controls are similar to those of a consumer drone.

The Model A differs from most so-called flying cars being designed today because it actually functions like a car, he said, while others on the market are mostly eVTOLS, which are essentially electric helicopters that can fly on their own.

Alef’s founders started working on the concept in 2015 – coincidentally the same date Marty McFly went Back to the Future in the second part of the Hollywood trilogy.

Speaking at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Mr Dukhovny said:

Speaking at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Mr Dukhovny said: “If all goes well, if we have sufficient financing and if regulations remain the same, we should be able to start production by the end of 2025.”

The Model A is currently reserved for £235,000 – around the same as the top Rolls Royce, Bentleys and Aston Martins – but the company aims to sell them much cheaper in the future.

He added: ‘For flying cars to become commonplace, they must be affordable.

‘The fundamental technology behind the Model A is simpler than that of a Toyota Corolla or a Ford Focus, so if we can build high volumes and optimize production, there’s no reason why it should cost more than £25,000.’

Alef Aeronautics’ main backer is billionaire investor Tim Draper, who also financed Tesla.

The sharp dispute arose just after half-time, when the teams took to the pitch again with West Ham taking a 2-1 lead.

Nothing physical was seen between the pair, but Maupay could be seen laughing as Nolan confronted him.

But the 27-year-old striker was pushed away by teammate Mathias Jensen before he could do more to deal with Nolan.

It was not immediately clear what started the war of words, but Gary Neville suggested what might have sparked the fire during his commentary duties for Sky Sports.

He said: “The Brentford forward was apparently standing outside the referee’s room [at half-time] and Nolan has taken offense.”

Nolan became frustrated in the first half as he argued with the various members of the Brentford bench after Simon Hooper denied West Ham a penalty.

Ultimately, it was Nolan who had the last laugh as West Ham blew away Brentford in a 4-2 win to win their first game of 2024.

Maupay is known for his antics on the pitch and has seen several Premier League opponents fall for his talkative mind games.

The meal – a portion of special ‘orange crisps’ and a mini fillet – would normally cost £5.70.

Nicola Jones, 55, from Wednesfield, who was first in the queue at 11.30am, said: “They were delicious.”

“I think it’s only us in the Midlands that make the orange crisps. They have this unique coating on them.

“The only reason I went to Dr. Vinegar ended up because my son has the store next door. They’ve been trading for a few weeks now. For me it was word of mouth.

“We arrived around 11 a.m., after which we got out for a while around 10:30 p.m. Then the masses came. I was the first to come.

“About fifty to sixty people came straight away, and then they just kept coming. It was constant. I was quite happy to be in the front. I will now be a regular customer.

“I thought they were excellent. For the price they asked, they were fantastic. The fries were good, nice thick pieces of cod. It was all fresh.

“The level was excellent. I wouldn’t expect anything else.

“Usually a cone costs £2.20. I think a fish and chips meal usually costs around £6 or £7 these days.”

And Matt Nichol, 29, from Willenhall, added: “I queued for an hour but it was well worth it.”

Change is sweeping through the royal houses of Europe.

After more than half a century on the throne, Margrethe is no longer Queen of Denmark.

And, almost unthinkably, Queen Elizabeth II has passed away after 70 years as Monarch of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

But for some young heirs, there is a little longer to wait yet before they get their chance to fulfil their destiny.

Long may their parents reign – although it is to be hoped that the next in line aren’t forced to endure the same record-breaking wait as our own King Charles III…

Next in line for the throne of Monaco after Prince Albert is Crown Prince Jacques.

The young Prince, who is the son of 65-year-old Prince Albert and Princess Charlene, also holds the title Marquis of Baux, which has been passed on to Monegasque heirs apparent since 1641.

Jacques was born on December, 10, 2014, having been delivered via caesarean section at the Princess Grace Hospital in Monaco, named after Albert’s mother, Hollywood actress, Grace Kelly.

He was born two minutes after his twin sister Gabriella, a statement from the palace confirmed at the time.

Their births were celebrated with 21 cannon shots each, 15 minutes of church bells and boat horns.

The twins, both eight, were formally presented to the public on January 7, 2015, and the date has since become a recognised as a public holiday in Monaco.

While Jacques is a few minutes younger than his twin sister, Monaco is one of the few countries in Europe still governed by male-preference primogeniture – meaning the eldest son inherits the throne over any older sisters.

It is only if a female heir has no eligible brothers or brothers with surviving male descendants that she will take the throne.

Jacques also has an older half-sister, Jazmin Grace Grimaldi, and an older half-brother, Alexandre Grimaldi-Coste, from their father’s previous relationships.

The young prince was baptized at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on May 10, 2015, where he was also awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Grimaldi.

Princess Charlene chose the name Jacques as it is a name native to South Africa, where she grew up.

He and his sister are currently enrolled at the L’Institution François d’Assise-Nicolas Barré since September, which is a private school in Monaco.

Talking to People, Prince Albert added that the twins are ‘very curious about geography and science.’

‘We went through a whole phase of them wanting to know all about the oceans and planets and everything about the solar system,’ he explained

He added that the younger twin is an observer who first likes to size things up before making a decision.

Although the twins have made public appearances with their parents, their lives for the most part are kept out of the spotlight so that they can enjoy their childhood.

Born in 2012, Princess Estelle is the eldest grandchild of King Carl XVI Gustaf and the eldest child of heir to the throne, 46-year-old Crown Princess Victoria.

As Estelle was the firstborn child of the heir to the throne, her birth in Solna was celebrated with two rounds of twenty-one gun salutes.

She has a collection of royal godparents, including King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, Crown Prince Haakon of Norway and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark.

The princess previously attended a pre-school near Stockholm which followed the Ur and Skur outdoor teaching methods to focus on the natural world.

She now attends Campus Manilla in Stockholm where she was joined last year by her younger brother, Prince Oscar.

The 1979 Act of Succession means that Estelle, as the eldest child, will inherit the throne rather than her younger brother and is now second in line to the throne after her mother.

The law, which came into effect some time ago (on 1 January 1980) had also meant that Estelle’s mother, Crown Princess Victoria, became heir to the throne when she was two years old – a title which was stripped from her younger brother, Carl Philip, at the time.

Reflecting on the change in an interview with local news channel SVT earlier this year, Estelle’s grandfather King Carl Gustaf said he felt it had been unfair to apply the new law to his children after they were already born.

‘It’s tricky to have laws that work retroactively. It doesn’t seem wise,’ he said.

‘You can accept the next generation – that’s okay. But it was my son who was born, and they got rid of it all,’ he said, adding: ‘It’s quite strange. You can’t do that.’

When the interviewer asked him if it had been unfair to strip his son of his title after he’d already been born, he replied: ‘Yes, I think so.’

The young Princess Estelle regularly makes appearances with her mother Crown Princess Victoria and her father Daniel Westling, who was Victoria’s personal trainer and married the royal in 2010.

She carried out her first royal engagement in 2014 at just two years old when she opened a ‘fairytale path’ at Linköping Castle.

Prince Charles is second in the line of succession to the throne of Luxembourg.

He is the eldest child of Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie and was born on May 10, 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He was born at Grand Duchess Charlotte Maternity Hospital in Luxembourg City and weighed 3.190kg.

Luxembourg’s Palace announced the happy news on Twitter, sharing that their son was born at 5.13am at la Maternité Grande-Duchesse Charlotte.

Images of baby Charles were also shared on Twitter and gave royal fans the first glimpse of the newborn.

The announcement read: ‘Time stood still at the Château de Berg during a video call during which the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess had the immense joy of meeting their grandson for the first time: Prince Charles.’

He was first introduced to his grandparents, the Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, over a video call given the lockdown regulations.

Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, 42, also spoke a few hours after the birth of Prince Charles about the wonderful new addition to the family.

The new father shared his joy at becoming a father for the first time.

He said ‘today is a wonderful day…perhaps the most incredible day that we will have in our lives, to be able to greet a child that comes into one’s life is the most magical thing a couple can have.’

Prince Charles was baptised on September 19, 2020, at the Abbey of St. Maurice and St. Maurus of Clervaux in Luxembourg. His godparents are his maternal aunt Countess Gaëlle de Lannoy and his paternal uncle Prince Louis of Luxembourg

To mark the young royal’s birthday in May, his parents shared a series of snaps of Charles and his younger brother Prince Francois, who was born in March.

With the passing of the late Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022 and King Charles’ ascension to the throne, Prince George was moved up to second in line for the British throne.

Prince George was born at 4.24pm on July 22, 2013, at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London – he is the eldest child to Prince William, now 41, and 42-year-ld Catherine, Princess of Wales.

The royals left hospital with their new son on 23rd July, but not forgetting to pause on the steps of the Lindo Wing to show the world a first glimpse of the new prince.

George was christened on October 23, 2013, at The Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace by The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby.

The young prince made his royal tour debut when he was 9 months old when the family spent three weeks in New Zealand and Australia in April 2014 – giving him a taste of his role as future King.

The following year, George made his first public appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace following the Trooping the Colour parade and stole the show with his adorable facial expressions – which were identical to a young Prince William.

In January 2016, George began his education at the Westacre Montessori School nursery in Norfolk, before moving to Thomas’s Battersea School just over a year later.

In 2022, the family moved to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor. And since September, George and his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, have attended Lambrook, an independent preparatory school in Berkshire.

George recently  served as a page of honour at his grandfather’s Coronation in May.

Whether it’s airport parking, queuing to get through security, bagging the best seat possible on the plane or getting yourself a hotel upgrade, planning for a holiday can be horribly stressful.

But there are all kinds of tricks and quirks that can make all the difference. For example, join the left-hand lane at security because most people head right, as they are biased toward their dominant hand. And why you should always board a plane last…

We’ve spoken to industry insiders, airport and airline staff and people who spend much of their lives travelling – and come up with the ultimate guide to becoming a savvy traveller

AIRPORT PLANNING

  • Don’t be too proud to take your own sandwiches, especially when everyone else is reeling from Pret’s airport prices.
  • Never get currency at the airport; rates are ruinous.
  • Use a meet-and-greet car parking service if you can. The price difference, particularly if booked well in advance, is often minimal. But make a note of the mileage before handing over the keys.
  • Fly to the smallest airport possible for your destination. Small airports are so much less hassle than big ones.
  • Never be rude to check-in staff at overseas airports. The same staff often reappear at the gate and can get their revenge by saying your hand baggage is too big to go on board for free.
  • Wash or sanitise your hands straight after security. Doctors say the trays that go through X-ray machines are constantly touched, rarely cleaned and a perfect breeding ground for bugs.

Industry insiders have a handy trick: go to the left-hand queue at security. Most people head right, as they are biased toward their dominant hand

  • Ask about twilight check-in if you’re staying in an airport hotel for an early flight. Hand over your main bags the night before and you can go straight to security in the morning.
  • Hydrate your skin in the Duty Free area with the help of all the beauty samples. The posher and more expensive the better.
  • If you haven’t got lounge access at the airport, head to the posh champagne bar.
  • If you have an evening flight from a London airport and are hungry, check the sandwich fridge at Boots — many sandwiches are slashed to £1 or 50p after 7pm.
  • When boarding requires a shuttle bus transfer to the aircraft, board last. You’ll avoid spending 20 minutes or so on an often cold bus and will be one of the first to board the plane.

SAVVY PACKING

  • If travelling with hand luggage only, pre-pack toiletries in a durable see-through wash bag (Boots sells these) to avoid the hassle at security of cramming items into flimsy bags.
  • Pack essentials for day two of your holiday (underwear, swimsuit, toothbrush, fresh clothes, etc.) in your hand luggage, just in case your suitcase doesn’t reach your destination at the same time as you.
  • Never pack more than three pairs of shoes: 1 x trainers, 1 x sandals, 1 x smart. These can be successfully rotated for the duration of the majority of holidays.
  • Unless you really love wearing a smart jacket or dress, don’t bother cramming them into your case — even the poshest restaurants no longer have dress codes.
  • Have a small bottle of your preferred air freshener or pillow spray with you — useful for stale hotel rooms and (especially) hire cars.
  • Packing cubes could change your life if you will be living out of a suitcase.
  • Save space with hand luggage-size multi-purpose products such as Green People Moisturising After Sun with Insect Repellent, £11 for 100ml.
  • Take along a Cabeau Evolution neck pillow, which, unlike other travel pillows, actually facilitates sleep, thanks to its ability to strap to the seat.
If travelling with hand luggage only, pre-pack toiletries in a durable see-through wash bag to avoid the hassle at security of cramming items into flimsy bags

  • Pop a slimline novel in a jacket, coat or backpack pocket — that way you’ll always have something to read to pass the time while queuing at the airport, waiting for a bus, or at the train station.
  • Take Vaseline in case of chafing if you plan to do a lot of walking or hiking.
  • Write out a comprehensive ‘What To Take’ list. Keep it with your passport and never again will you forget to take an adaptor, spare socks, etc..

TRAINS AND PLANES

  • Never board the Gatwick Express. The Southern train service from Victoria takes 15 minutes longer but is less than half the price. The same applies to the Heathrow Express — take the Elizabeth Line instead.
  • Order the veggie meal in advance on long-haul flights. It will be more freshly heated — and you’ll get it first.
  • Take noise-cancelling headphones. Not only for a better sound, but they blot out engine noise and screaming babies.
  • Take a light cashmere throw — useful when blankets in Economy are as effective as a dishcloth.
  • Tag hand baggage. The rucksack or handbag carries all the essentials (passports, money, gadgets, holiday info, etc.). And put your mobile number clearly inside the tag.
  • Put ‘fragile’ stickers on your checked bag. It should help it get to the carousel quicker.
  • Think twice about paying for extra legroom on a plane. You’ll find yourself sitting alongside big people, so while you might gain space in front of you, it’s likely you’ll be encroached on from either side.
  • When booking flights online, if you open your browser window in ‘incognito’, mode, the fares sometimes come up cheaper.
  • Act like Naomi Campbell when flying and moisturise, moisturise, moisturise your skin, because the cabin pressure and dry air can cause poor lymphatic drainage and poor blood circulation.
  • Download your airline’s app, which often posts timely updates on a flight’s status or gate changes before the airport announcement. EasyJet’s is particularly good and allows you to track the plane live.

  • Go to the left-hand queue at security; most people head right, as they are biased toward their dominant hand.
  • Check out what side of a train the main sights will be — a coastline, a mountain range or lake — and reserve your seat there.
  • Buy Paris Metro tickets from the buffet car on Eurostar trains. Saves messing about with the ticket machines at Gare de Nord.
  • Avoid wearing any kind of tight clothing when flying; your body swells and retains water.
  • Always be friendly and polite to cabin crew. This often results in perks such as free-flowing wine and extra snacks.
  • Take a small silver stirrup cup for your wine — so much more uplifting than those plastic jobs.
  •  Washroom sizes vary on long-haul flights — worth checking out where the big one is, especially if you brought your soft trousers to change into.
  • Get on the plane last. You can scope out any free seats and potentially bag an empty row to yourself.

  • Adjust your watch at take-off to the time zone of your holiday destination. It helps psychologically with jet lag.
  • On your outward journey, wear that shirt or blouse you were thinking of throwing out. Bin it when you get to the hotel — one less thing to bring back.
  • Mid-week flights (Tuesday and Wednesday) are almost always the cheapest.
  • Couples booking an aisle and a window seat have a good chance of having a free empty seat between them. If anyone else does get put in the middle seat he or she will usually be happy to swap to the aisle or window.
  • When travelling long-haul in economy, bring your own luxury travel pack of cashmere socks, silk eye mask, lip balm, and hydrating facial mist.

Adjust your watch at take-off to the time zone of your holiday destination. It helps psychologically with jet lag.

  • For long-haul flights with young children, create a bedtime routine by taking PJs to change into and a favourite blanket to snuggle under.
  • Build Avios tier points with BA. If you get to gold status, the carrier will block the seat next to you in economy, giving you room to stretch out.
  • Chilli and chocolate can help reduce the effects of jet lag.
  • For less turbulence, pick a seat by the wing.
  • Book hotels and car hire with the airline you fly with — you can pick up some amazing deals and the extras turn the plane ticket into a package holiday, which comes with a raft of financial protection.
  • Pre-order an inflight hamper from a fancy restaurant at the airport — so you can dine like a business-class passenger in economy.

ONCE YOU’RE THERE

  • Learn the absolute basic local lingo: Even the most modest of efforts goes a long way. ‘Hello’, ‘Goodbye’, ‘Please’, ‘Thank you’. And, of course, ‘Sorry… but I’m British’.
  • Always pay for things in local currency when using debit or credit cards.
  • Do your souvenir shopping in local supermarkets — much cheaper than the tourist shops and it’s often the same goods on sale.
  • Remember that if you ever have time to kill, are bored, or alone, a massage is an almost universally available and self-indulgent way to spend an hour.
  • Even if you don’t follow football, pretend to support one of the top Premiership teams — it’s the easiest way to make friends with barmen and taxi drivers anywhere in the world.
  • Read a book on holiday that you don’t expect to read again. Leave it in the hotel when you leave.
  • Ditch your usual credit or debit card when travelling abroad in favour of a Starling card to avoid exchange fees and charges.
  • Only Left-wing university lecturers worry about cultural appropriation. If you want to braid your hair or wear a sarong, just do it.
  • Given a choice, go for a country where tipping isn’t the norm. Sorry U.S., hello Australia and Japan.
  • Visit busy tourist sights, such as the Vatican, at lunchtime — they’ll be quieter.
  • Always look for restaurants that are popular with locals.
  • Ask your friends and friends-of-friends if they know anyone at your destination who could show you around for a couple of hours, so they can facilitate your jumping-off point for exploration. Many are happy to oblige.
  • Check cultural listings at your destination to find out what gigs, festivals and club nights are on that week, and party with the locals.
  • Pack your best self: always travel with a ready smile, good manners and patience. A gracious and happy tourist will get more from a trip than a grumpy, demanding one.

ON THE HIGH SEAS

  • Take a washing line — preferably one that doesn’t require pegs. They cost less than a fiver and are ideal for drying clothes on your cabin balcony.
  • Organise your own excursions. It’s always cheaper (sometimes by as much as 75 per cent) to book exactly the same thing independently. It might take a little pre-travel online research, but the savings will be worth it.
  • Avoid cruises that try to cram in too many destinations — less is more.
  • Spas are quiet on port days, so look out for any deals. Grab an early or late offer so you can still go ashore.
  • Take part in any quizzes on offer — it is a great way to meet people.
  • Have your excuses ready when anyone suggests a night of karaoke.
  • Expect to put on roughly a pound a day — cruises are notoriously hard on the waistline.
  • Under no circumstances wear a yachting cap to ‘look the part’.
  • Unless you drink from dawn to dusk, the drinks packages are not always worth it… so check out ‘buy as you go’. And remember that everyone in your cabin has to be on the same package.
  • If you do opt for a drinks package, be sure to book it well ahead of sailing. They are cheaper if purchased weeks (or even months) prior to departure.
  • Invest in some towel pegs — it can get blowy at sea and pegs come in handy for attaching towels to sun loungers.
  • If you’re prone to seasickness, book a cabin in the centre of the ship — you tend to feel more movement at the ends of the ship than in the middle.
  • Save on soft drinks bills by using the dispensers in the buffet restaurants.
  • Choose a repositioning voyage when ships relocate from one part of the world to another (e.g. Europe to the Caribbean) as prices can be as much as 50 per cent lower.
  • Fancy a free tipple while on board? Go to the art auctions or captain’s cocktails where there’s normally a drink on the house.
  • Book a hotel near your departure port the night before you sail to avoid the stress of possible flight and traffic delays.

Avoid cruises that try to cram in too many destinations — less is more.

  • Not all travel insurance covers cruises, so check that yours is valid.
  • Avoid cabins near the lifts, above the theatre or nightclub and below the running track — they can be noisy. If travelling with children, a cabin near the kids’ zones will make life easier.
  • Children travel free if sleeping in the same cabin as their parents on selected sailings with MSC Cruises, Holland America Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean and Ambassador Cruise Line.
  • Don’t pay for excursions in cities such as Barcelona, Lisbon and Oslo (or Cologne and Avignon if river-cruising) as you can walk to the main attractions. Pre-book entry to galleries and museums online.
  • Most ships have a launderette (no charge on many ships) so you can go home with a case of clean clothes.
  • Using the stairs is almost always quicker than waiting for the lift on a cruise ship. And with so much good food, every bit of exercise helps.

GENERAL POINTERS

  • The ‘sweet spot’ for airfares is usually six to 12 weeks before departure.
  • Never assume a package holiday is cheaper than DIY.
  • If crossing the Channel by car, try Newhaven-Dieppe rather than crowded Dover-Calais.
  • Tell your colleagues you are in New Zealand — even if you are in Bournemouth.
  • Always leave enough time to have a glass of bubbles at the airport — it’ll feel like the holiday has got started.
  • Always send one of your party on ahead to get in the car hire queue while someone else waits for the luggage.
  • Tell someone at home what your policy number is and who your travel insurance is with. If the worst happens, they can then kickstart a claim while you’re away.
  • Find out before you land what the average price of a taxi from the airport should be, so you can avoid getting taken for a ride.
  • Remember that a smile is understood in every language.
  • If you don’t have unlimited international roaming, write down the name and address of your hotel in advance to avoid being caught out without the internet.

HOTEL INTELLIGENCE

  • Always ask for a quiet room and one with a bath — it might lead to an upgrade.
  • Remember to remove your passport and your valuables from the hotel safe by putting one of your travelling shoes in it the night before.
  • Book a stay for a Sunday night to get the best deal.
  • Always use your credit card for the hotel’s cautionary deposit. If it’s a debit card, the ‘held’ amount is automatically deducted and you may have to wait days to be reimbursed after check-out.

The iconic Celebrity Cyclone finally returns in Saturday’s episode of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!

And it looks like this year’s incarnation of the famous trial will be more challenging than ever, as the final four celebrities compete against a sea of balls, water and wind to win four stars for the camp.

In a first look clip of the challenge, Josie Gibson struggles to reach campmate Nigel Farage and collect three stars, despite encouragement from presenters Ant and Dec.

As she struggles to reach Nigel, Ant shouts: ‘Right in the face! Come on Josie! You should go to Nigel Jos. Get the stars!’

Dec added: ‘It’s almost time! Come on Josie!’

The iconic Celebrity Cyclone can be seen again on Saturday in I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! and it looks like this year’s incarnation will be the most grueling yet

As she struggles to reach Nigel, Ant shouts: ‘Right in the face! Come on Josie! You should go to Nigel Jos. Get the stars!’

As Josie slowly collects three of the stars, she stumbles to the next marker as Tony Bellew shouts, “Go on Jose!”

But after being hit by a hose of water, Josie lost her grip on one of the stars, sending it flying back down the slide.

Host Dec burst out laughing: ‘She’s going to lose one! No, it’s gone!’

Viewers will have to wait and see if Josie, Tony, Sam and Nigel manage to earn four stars for the camp, before one of them narrowly misses out on a place in the final.

It comes after Josie reached the end of her tether with Nigel after he stopped her from doing a Bushtucker Trial during Friday’s episode.

Josie became camp leader by default after Danielle Harold’s departure and the This Morning presenter, 38, took her throne as JLS singer Marvin Humes, 38, broke news that the latest Bushtucker trial had a Christmas theme.

Former Big Brother winner Josie took the opportunity to do the trial but was slammed by former politician Nigel, 59, who insisted he had the experience needed to succeed after facing a number of challenges earlier in the series had entered into.

But Nigel’s argument did not go down well with Josie, who insisted he simply wanted to do another trial because he wanted more airtime and needed to ‘prove himself to the nation’.

After Marvin informed the group of the process, Josie said, “I’m going to do it. If you want me to do it, I will do it.”

Former boxer Tony Bellew (41) asked: ‘Are you going to be afraid of something coming your way? Because we need stars now?’

Josie said, “I’m afraid of it all… but you feel like you have to win stars and maybe I don’t have the minerals.”

Explaining the reasons why he wanted to go, Nigel said: ‘I did a lot of Bushtucker Trials in the early stages, you guys have now caught up. So it’s my turn. My turn, it’s that simple.’

Marvin said, “I like doing it.” Tony said, “I’m the same.”

Josie said: ‘I feel like I have to prove myself a little bit now.’

Nigel said, ‘Josie, that’s not necessary. You have to respond to this by saying that I’m not afraid of what they’re going to throw at me. If you can’t say… then you shouldn’t do it, I think.’

It comes after Josie reached the end of her bond with Nigel after he stopped her from doing a Bushtucker trial during Friday's episode.

Josie replied: ‘I said I wanted to prove myself and you said, “You shouldn’t do it, you shouldn’t do it”.’

Nigel said: ‘You’re proving yourself by being here.’

Former Made In Chelsea cast member Sam Thompson, 31, said separately: “Josie, if you want to do it, do it.”

Josie said, “No, it’s okay. Let Nige do it, he wants the airtime.”

Writing in the Bush Telegraph, Josie said: ‘I should have fought for my corner a bit more but he wants the airtime because he wants to prove himself to the nation.’

It comes after Nigel previously admitted he wanted to take part in trials to receive 25 per cent of the show’s airtime.

Last month, before her departure, he told food critic Grace Dent, 50, of his plan to reach a “new audience.”

He explained: “If you do the challenges, it’s 25 percent of the airtime. I want to reach a whole new audience.’

Nigel looked disappointed as he waved off former campmate YouTuber Nella Rose, 26, to take part in the No Time To Cry trial after the public voted her in.

Then Ant and Dec joked about Nigel’s comment, saying: ‘We’ll be going into camp soon to reveal who gets 25 per cent of airtime tomorrow.’

I’m a celebrity…Get me out of here! continues Saturday December 9 at 9.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.

Sarah Ferguson has joined a growing queue to replace Holly Willoughby on This Morning after impressing ITV bosses with her guest appearance on Loose Women.

The Duchess of York is in talks with the long-running show to guest star on the show, The mirror has reported, following previous appearances on the channel earlier this year.

Holly left the show last month ‘for the sake of her family’ after discovering she was the target of a foiled kidnap and murder plot and has not yet been permanently replaced.

And there’s a lot of anticipation in the ensuing weeks as rumors swirl about who will fill her shoes, with Alison Hammond, Josie Gibson and Rochelle Humes currently sharing the role on a part-time basis.

Sarah, 64, is in talks with the show’s executives after joining Loose Women earlier this month to discuss her breast cancer journey.

New career move: Sarah Ferguson, 64, will reportedly replace Holly Willoughby on This Morning as Royal in talks with ITV

End of an era: It comes after Holly left the show last month 'for the sake of her family' after discovering she was the target of a foiled kidnap and murder plot and has not been permanently replaced since

A TV source told the publication: ‘The Duchess was a real hit with ITV bosses on Loose Women, everyone thought she was a natural.

‘There is an open invitation for her to return to Loose Women and there is also talk of a guest role on This Morning or a miniseries for them.’

In March she also appeared on This Morning, where Holly asked if she would be interested in returning to the show with a love phone call.

Sarah said at the time: ‘Holly, I’d like to do that, maybe when you get back from your annual leave and the… Easter holidays! But there’s no doubt about that, this is right on topic. We love to love.”

And Sarah is no stranger to TV after replacing Larry King in the US for a spell and enjoying her time as co-host of Loose Women in support of breast cancer awareness.

The Duchess has done that too previously worked as a special correspondent for NBC’s Today in the States.

Yet the royal family member isn’t the only one billed for the role, after it was revealed that Cat Deeley has reportedly joined This Morning as a presenter and will make her debut opposite Rylan Clark on November 13.

The TV personality and actress, 47, will take a seat on the famous sofa to co-host with popular star Rylan – who currently co-hosts the breakfast show with regular presenter Josie Gibson.

Cat started her career as co-presenter of the ITV children’s show SMTV Live, for which she won a BAFTA Children’s Award, and the spin-off chart show CD:UK.

A source said The sun: ‘Cat is a seasoned professional and executives have been keen to bring her on board for some time. She takes live TV at ease and is really witty and personal with guests.

‘She is comfortable interviewing both pop stars and politicians, so if things go well she could be a much more permanent solution to Holly’s departure. Cat would be the safe captain to keep the ship steady.

“Rylan was also a runaway success, so fans can expect to see a lot more from him in the future.”

Representatives for ITV and Cat have been contacted by MailOnline for comment.

New Delhi: Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra engaged in ‘unethical conduct’ and shared her parliamentary login ID and password with unauthorized people, which was used at least 47 times to gain entry from the UAE, the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee said in its draft report, a report said.

Citing sources, an ANI report said the Ethics Panel in its draft report has accused Moitra of being involved in ‘unethical conduct’ and sharing her ID login and password with unauthorized persons.

Opposition MPs have expressed dissenting views on the draft, the report said.

“A common ground for all opposition MPs to file a dissent is that the investigation is not fair. They have said that Darshan Hiranandani should have been summoned by the committee to ensure a free and fair investigation in all respects,” the report quoted sources as saying.

A meeting of the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee, which is probing the allegations against Mahua Moitra, is currently underway where the panel is likely to adopt a 500-page draft report on the allegations against the TMC leader.

Moitra’s login was used 47 times from the UAE

According to the sources, the draft report on Mahua Moitra’s money-for-questions case reveals that she visited the UAE four times between 2019 and 2023, while her login was used several times, the ANI report said.

“On 47 occasions, its member portal login details were accessed from Dubai,” the ethics committee’s draft report said.

The Ethics Committee has sought detailed reports from Information Technology (IT) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on IP address and location. It also seeks MHA’s input on the dangers of sharing credentials, highlighting the legal ramifications under section IT ACT 2000.

However, the draft report suggested several findings including: “The serious crimes on the part of Mahua Moitra call for severe punishment. The committee, therefore, recommends that Mahua Moitra, Member of Parliament, may be disqualified from membership of the Seventeenth Lok Sabha.”

“Considering the highly condemnable, unethical, heinous and criminal conduct of Mahua Moitra, the committee recommends an intensive, legal, institutional investigation by the Government of India in a time-bound manner,” it added.

‘Unethical behavior’

The draft report further stated: “Unethical conduct” and “contempt of the House” by Mahua Moitra by way of accepting money – cash and kind, amenities and various other facilities by Mahua Moitra, MP from Darshan Hiranandani, Business Tycoon, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.”

“The ‘money trail’ of cash transactions between Mahua Moitra and Darshan Hiranandani as part of ‘quid pro quo’ should be.”

The extensive draft report consists of approximately 500 pages.

A further report stated that “Darshan Hiranandani, an Indian citizen with residency rights in the UAE.

Eviction on cards for Moitra

Citing sources, the report said the committee may recommend expulsion of Mahua Moitra from the Lok Sabha and take action against Danish Bahujan Samaj Party MP Ali, who is a member of the committee.

Earlier today, Mahua Moitra wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, alleging a violation of the rules of the House of Representatives, alleging that the draft report of the Lok Sabha Committee on Ethics was accessed through a news channel. She alleged that since the media house was owned by the Adani group, this was a matter of corporate fraud and regulatory violation.

Cash-for-query row

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey had approached Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla against Mahua Moitra and accused her of raising questions in Lok Sabha to attack Adani Group at the behest of businessman Darshan Hiranandani in return for cash and gifts.

‘Adani wanted to make a deal’

On October 27, Moitra leveled explosive charges against business tycoon Gautam Adani, alleging that the Adani Group chairman had approached her twice in the last three times through two Lok Sabha MPs and “wanted to work out a deal”.

Moitra alleged that Adani wanted to sit down with her and offer her a deal, but she rejected his advances and refused to meet him.

“Mr Adani has approached me through two Lok Sabha MPs over the last three years to sit at the table with him and work out a deal which I rejected,” India Today had quoted Mahua Moitra.

The TMC leader alleged that Gautam Adani offered her money not to ask questions in the House of Representatives.

“The problem is that he gave cash not to ask questions,” she had said, according to India Today.

Moitra said she rejected Adani’s ‘deal’ and never met him personally even though the billionaire approached her twice in three years ‘through two Lok Sabha MPs’. Mahua, however, did not mention the names of the two MPs who allegedly approached her on Adani’s behalf.

Prince William was greeted by hundreds of enthusiastic royal fans as he arrived in Singapore today, including an eight-month-old girl who gently bit his finger.

The Prince of Wales arrived at Changi Airport on Sunday to cheering crowds holding up signs, waving Union Jack flags and clutching photos of his late mother Princess Diana.

The father-of-three, 41, is visiting the island for the third annual Earthshot Prize, where he will announce the next wave of companies and inventors who will receive £1 million to scale up their environmental ideas, and will also speak to previous winners .

Arriving for the four-day trip, Prince William took time to greet a number of people gathered near the airport’s famous Rain Vortex, including eight-month-old Albane Costa.

The Prince of Wales was animated as he spoke to the little boy and her mother, and the baby immediately took an interest in William’s hands.

At one point she decided to chew on his index finger, before continuing to grab his hand and smiling at the future king.

William enjoyed the moment and grinned at the playful girl.

Later he had a chat with children and took selfies with those eagerly lining the airport as he continued walking with Sim Ann, the country’s foreign minister.

This year’s Earthshot Prize will be the first ceremony William attends without his wife, the Princess of Wales. At the previous ceremonies, in Boston and London, the royal couple arrived hand in hand.

But this year, Kate is staying home with her three children and helping George study for important exams.

The 10-year-old prince, who is in year 6 at Lambrook prep school in Berkshire, is likely to take entrance exams for his future private school, testing him in maths, English and verbal reasoning.

When he arrived in Singapore, William was shown the Jewel, a nature-themed entertainment and shopping complex surrounded by and connected to one of Changi Airport’s passenger terminals.

To officially mark Earthshot’s arrival in Singapore, the 40-meter-long rain vortex of Jewel, the world’s largest indoor waterfall, will be turned on and illuminated green.
