After three days of withdrawal I knew I wouldn't make it. My hands were constantly shaking from alcohol withdrawal, I was in deep depression every hour that caused me to sob desperately, and the complete lack of privacy – even while sleeping – was just too much to bear.

As a young journalist, liquor and celebrity parties were part of my lifestyle. When I graduated from crime writing at age 30 and kept my own hours, it was easy to hide my alcohol addiction.

Now that was an end – along with my freedom. For me, the minute-by-minute planning is as excruciating as the withdrawal.

After making the decision to leave, I stopped group therapy and went to the bathroom to cry. When I entered the toilet, I heard the buzzing of a mop. I sighed. Cleansing, usually performed by patients, was an important part of recovery. Even here I couldn't be alone.

A woman came into view, and I forced myself not to do a double take because, strangely enough, a soap actress I recognized from TV – I'll call her Emily – had a cleaning spray in his hands.

“I'm really bothered by the lack of privacy,” I blurted out. “I don't know if I can handle it anymore.”

She looked at me. “This is normal for me,” she said. 'Better than usual.'

She waited until that dawned on her. My lack of privacy, as hard as it was, would be over in a few weeks. Hers – if she continued her career – would never end.

Crime writer Cate Quinn turned to alcohol to numb the pain after a personal tragedy left her with nightmares and the ability to write

She grabbed a cloth to polish the mirrors and told how photographers followed her to restaurants and nightclubs. She had once lost a relationship in its early stages because she had checked into a hotel to sleep off a hangover, and stories had surfaced indicating that she had met a man in there.

'How do you deal with that?' I asked her.

“I don't,” she said bluntly. 'That's why I'm here.'

Addicts often say that you go to rehab twice: once when you walk through the door, and a second time if you really commit to it.

That conversation with Emily was my second check-in, when I realized I was going to make it through.

My first check-in was the lowest point of my life. Sobbing uncontrollably, I couldn't understand how I, a successful crime novelist, had ended up here; how I allowed my drinking to escalate so much.

But a year earlier, a horrific personal tragedy had left me reeling. Twelve months later I was still having nightmares and my creative well had dried up. Hopeless and useless, I turned to alcohol to numb the pain.

Desperate, I scoured the internet for private rehab and signed up with a credit card.

As I navigated the arrival process – complete with full body searches – the manager explained that I wouldn't be surprised if I encountered people I recognized. Because of their commitment to privacy, this particular facility attracted the celebrities.

I slowly got into the rhythm of group therapy, counseling, personal journaling sessions, plus cooking and cleaning chores, and the small group of fellow addicts became like a second family.

I began to realize that the reasons why I drank actually went back to my childhood with an alcoholic parent. As an oversensitive child, I had unconsciously internalized a lot of pain, learned to put the feelings of others first, and – as an adult – drowned my own needs in booze.

Personal insight was fascinating, but so was the insight into the people who could afford the £10,000 a month clinic fee. My fellow patients were disproportionately wealthy, with demands to meet. Certain brands of water, visitation rights for pets and very specific dietary requirements were standard.

And because rehab was a closely guarded secret for most of them, bizarre requests for deception were also common.

Like the cop who set up his own private meeting room so he could have Zoom calls without anyone knowing where he was. He arrived for breakfast drenched in sweat and begged for stronger medication, after which he went to his 'office' for fieldwork visits. As far as I know, no one except his long-suffering wife ever knew he was in rehab.

Perhaps surprisingly, celebrities were the best behaved – perhaps because constant planning was normal for them. Take the famous model that had a reputation for being demanding. She turned out to be the nicest person there, never asked for anything and regularly offered to get things for others.

The courage of the celebrities in rehab who tackled shame head-on had a profound effect on my recovery. It also made me realize how others might see me: not as a broken wreck, but as a flawed human being doing my best to change.

Back in the real world, sober for the first time in twenty years, I worried I wouldn't be able to write without alcohol. But actually, the famous faces and bizarre experiences that made up my detox journey inspired my ninth novel, The Clinic, a murder mystery with a celebrity cast.

The book was a different kind of therapy, which also allowed me to write anonymously about my own deeply personal trauma. For me, that makes the experiences more real, not less. Just how I hope my alcohol-free future will be.

Cate Quinn's novel The Clinic is now available in hardback.

A PREMIER League star has become the first footballer to enter rehab for an addiction to laughing gas.

He will be followed by other addicted stars as sources warn the use is widespread among elite players, despite it now being illegal.

The player was admitted to a medical center after his concerned family asked his club for help.

Police had stopped a car in which he was a passenger and found dozens of canisters in the footwell.

The incident a few weeks before Christmas did not lead to police action because they could not prove who they belonged to.

But a source said: “His family became aware and asked the club for help.

“The player was told that if he wanted to save his career he had to go to a specialist residential center and get help.

“He's essentially going through a detox in the same way you would if you were addicted to alcohol or another drug.

“He is the first Premier League footballer to be treated for his addiction to nitrous oxide, but given its widespread use among players it is unlikely he will be the last.”

Nitrous oxide, also known as 'hippie crack', comes in canisters – sometimes super-sized – that are used to fill balloons, which are then inhaled repeatedly.

It provides a quick high but carries the risk of heart attacks, strokes and brain damage, with some users having died after taking it.

Long-term use can also lead to depression, memory loss, incontinence, hallucinations and nerve damage.

The law was changed last November to make it a controlled Class C drug, with possession for inhalation now a criminal offence.

It would be almost impossible for any convicted footballer to play in countries with strict drug laws, such as the US and Saudi Arabia.

However, a source said dozens are heavy users, and many are entering lockdown.

Routine drug tests are also unlikely to detect this.

The source continued: “A Premier League star recently celebrated his birthday and wasted almost £10,000 on buses.

'They are taken en masse because they cannot be caught with it in their system.

“It happens at all clubs and some of the clubs that use the club are very well known players. I'm not sure if any of them know that it is a class C drug now.

“No footballer dreams of having a stash of cannabis at home, but many do have a stash of balloons for themselves and their friends.

“They seem to have no idea how dangerous their use can be.”

Websites sell a van and nitrous oxide for a few pounds, after the buyer confirms it is for food production and they are over 18 years old.

Previously, users bought single-serve aerosol cans, but many have switched to super-sized tubes that deliver 80 times the usual dose.

Stephen Ream, from solvent abuse and drugs charity Re-Solv, said: “The new large jerry cans are a real concern. One young man we supported used ten a day.

“If you do the small ones you know how much you're getting through, but if you use a big one you lose track.”

In 2022, Kayleigh Burns, 16, from Liverpool, died after inhaling gas at a party in Leamington Spa.

She had complained of being 'too hot' before collapsing.

Sports science professor and former FA head of performance John Brewer warned players against quitting it as it can lower vitamin B12 levels.

He said: “B12 is essential for nerve function.

“So if you're an elite football player trying to make skillful movements and pass a ball effectively, you don't want your nerves to be damaged in any way, because you need that peripheral ability to sense movements.”

He also said it can cause anemia, which reduces endurance.

STARS ON THE GAS

A ROUTE of Premier League players have been caught using nitrous oxide.

In 2013, then Spurs star Kyle Walker was pictured inhaling it.

Raheem Sterling did the same two years later and was reprimanded by Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers.

In 2018, Arsenal stars Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Matteo Guendouzi were filmed at a pre-season bash.

The following year, Jack Grealish, then at Aston Villa, was caught while inhaling from a balloon.

Last year, Everton midfielder Dele Alli was pictured in a do, surrounded by gas canisters and alcohol.

Villa's Leon Bailey also filmed himself inhaling in his car after partying all night last March.

None of these players are top performers in rehab.

Jodi Gordon made the shocked admission that she has struggled with substance abuse “most of her life” as she celebrated her 39th birthday on Thursday.

The actress shared a raw post on Instagram explaining how going to rehab and getting sober “completely changed my life in ways I didn't think were possible.”

The former Home and Away star completed a 30-day alcohol addiction recovery program at a Sydney clinic in 2022.

“I have battled substance abuse most of my life. At 24 I started recovering, but I could never stop,” she wrote in the post.

“I got sober on April 7, 2022 and have remained sober ever since, completely changing my life in ways I never thought possible.”

Gordon said her mother Bronwyn was her “hero” and “constantly teaches me how to use my own strength to get back up.”

She also revealed how her father, who passed away last year, taught her “acceptance, forgiveness and unconditional love.”

She hinted she had mended her rocky relationship with ex-husband Braith Anasta and thanked the former NRL star for the gift of their daughter Aleeia, nine.

'I always wanted a big family, and I got that with my daughter Aleeia. She is unlike any person I have ever known: so loving, fierce, patient, wise and curious,” she continued.

Gordon's struggles first came to light when she became embroiled in a bizarre drugs scandal with biker and Kings Cross identity Mark Judge in June 2009.

The pair were found by police in the bedroom of Mark's home in Bellevue Hill after Gordon called Triple Zero believing armed intruders were threatening her life, leading to an emergency operation.

Police reviewed CCTV footage and found no trace of intruders; only Gordon and Judge hid in a bedroom.

Gordon reportedly told officers during an interview after the bizarre episode that cocaine had been consumed earlier that evening.

A day earlier, her fiancé, Channel Seven heir Ryan Stokes, had called Kings Cross police to report Gordon missing after a night out. The couple split shortly after the scandal.

After her divorce from Ryan, Gordon started dating the man who would become her husband: rugby league player Braith Anasta.

They married between 2012 and 2015 and welcomed their daughter Aleeia in 2014.

The couple sadly split in 2015, and Gordon had a few romances before meeting British banker Sebastian Blackler in 2020.

But their relationship turned sour in November that year when it was revealed that Blackler was due to appear in court on an apprehended violence warrant issued by police just a week after Gordon made their relationship public.

Police called in an interim AVO, reportedly to protect Gordon from Blackler after he visited her home in the eastern suburbs.

Police were called to Gordon's home in Double Bay shortly after midnight after reports of a disturbance.

“On Friday, November 27, 2020 at approximately 12.30pm officers were called to a unit at Wiston Gardens in Double Bay,” a NSW Police spokesperson said at the time.

“Following an investigation, Eastern Suburbs officers suspended the investigation at the request of the victim. No further action is expected at this time.”

Police then engaged an interim AVO to prevent Blackler from assaulting, threatening, stalking, harassing or intimidating Gordon.

It is understood the couple split in May 2021 but rekindled their relationship in February 2022.

But a similar incident that happened in April 2022 ultimately ended their romance before Gordon went to rehab.

According to court papers, police found Gordon “severely affected by intoxicating liquor” on April 3, 2022, at a guest house in Kurrajong Heights with an injured Sebastian Blackler.

Shortly afterwards, a Windsor Local Court magistrate ordered that Gordon and Blackler not contact each other until April 2024.

Another condition of the couple's arrest warrants, which were issued by police against the couple – and which their lawyers agreed to without confession – prohibited them from stalking, harassing or assaulting each other.

Blackler's lawyer Michael Bowe told Daily Mail Australia at the time that the fleeting romance between the two was now over.

The AVOs related to an alleged altercation in Sydney's far northwest.

NSW Police were called to a bed and breakfast and arrested Blackler, but later released him without charge.

Court documents said that when police asked Blackler about bruising and swelling on his left eye, he claimed his girlfriend had “hit him with a wine bottle” but declined to make a formal statement.

The AVO documents also said police found bruises on Gordon's left eye and lower lip, and three lumps on her forehead, but believed the injuries were days old.

Documents presented to the court also claim that police 'fear domestic violence between the parties, with Gordon's consumption of intoxicating liquor aggravating the violence'.

'There is clearly domestic violence between the parties [but they] are reluctant to disclose how the injuries were sustained,” the documents said.

Officers took out a restraining order against Gordon on behalf of Blackler, who was also granted an AVO against the actress over the same alleged incident.

Since her rehabilitation period after the incident, Gordon has been single and focused on health, fitness and motherhood.

She is often seen enjoying ice baths and exercising at Coogee Beach.

In her post on Thursday, Gordon revealed her new career change, explaining that she is now studying a Bachelor of Counseling and Communication Skills and has recently started her first professional job in mental health.

“I love this tough journey in a new field, working incredibly hard and working my way up every day with diligence, curiosity, wonder and purpose,” she continued.

“The future looks so bright as I walk this path to becoming a counselor and stay down-to-earth to share my journey. Here's to the good fight in reducing the discrimination and stigma that we all know exists.'

She ended by saying how poetry and writing have “helped me through the many dark places of my life.”

“If you've been on this wild ride with me, thank you for seeing my color, when sometimes all I showed was gray. Thank you for loving me and supporting me in your own way. I felt it.'

Gordon also revealed her new career change, explaining that she is now studying a Bachelor of Counseling and Communication Skills and has recently started her first professional job in mental health.

Kit Harington has revealed that he was diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) in 2019 while in rehab for alcohol problems.

The Game Of Thrones star, 37, told how he learned of his diagnosis while in an American clinic he went to after four years of trying to get sober.

Recalling his childhood, the actor said his parents would call him the “Prince of Darkness” because of the dark moods he fell into that “never really went away after my teenage years.”

Kit spoke about his diagnosis during an appearance on The Hidden 20% podcast with entrepreneur Ben Branson, who has autism and ADHD.

He said: 'I realized my life depended on this. Luckily it was the right place at the right time. From there I managed to build a new life.'

Kit added that as a teenager he was “involved in a whole range of neuroses”, with his gloomy mood only changing as he became more aware of them.

He said, 'If it happens, I could… bring the whole room down. And a small part of me likes that I have this effect.

“So I have to be very aware that it's happening and remove myself from the situation.”

The actor also said his mental health battle was exacerbated by Game Of Thrones fans treating him like his character Jon Snow.

He said, “People would treat me like the character. But in my life I didn't have that at all. And that [led to] some psychological scars.'

Kit is married to his Game Of Thrones co-star Rose Leslie, with whom he shares a son, born in January 2021, and a daughter, born in February 2023.

It comes after Game of Thrones fans received a disappointing update about the previously teased spin-off show about Kit Harington's beloved Jon Snow character.

Despite discussing the potential show for Harington's 36-year-old character earlier this year, HBO's CEO Casey Bloys has now clarified that the series is not currently in development.

Recalling his childhood, the actor said his parents would call him the “Prince of Darkness” because of the dark moods he fell into that “never really went away after my teenage years.”

“I wouldn't say there's anything else in that world that's even close to a green light or anything like that,” he said TV lineand added, “but we're always working on different scripts and ideas.”

However, Bloys shared that the network greenlit Dunk and Egg in the spring, referring to the series order for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, which is based on the Dunk and Egg novellas by Thrones author George RR Martin.

In 2022 – just months before HBO's first Game of Thrones spinoff prequel, House of the Dragon, debuted – the network was said to be in “early development” of a new series that would follow Snow.

Kit was expected to reprise his role as Jon Snow (aka Aegon Targaryen), with the show exploring his story after he left Westeros.

In December 2022, Kit teased the spin-off series during an appearance at a convention in Los Angeles, and Game of Thrones creator George RR Martin revealed that the show's working title was SNOW.

He also revealed that it was Kit who came up with the idea to continue Jon's storyline in a new series.

He wrote on his blog in June: 'Yes, it was Kit Harrington (sic) who brought the idea to us.

“I can't tell you the names of the writers/showrunners because they haven't been released yet… but Kit brought them in too, his own team, and they're amazing.”

EXCLUSIVE

Former NRL star Chris Walker has won his battle with the bottle so convincingly that he is now the teetotaler of a thriving vodka company, having once needed a stint in rehab to combat his toddy addiction.

The ex-Queensland, Broncos, Roosters and Titans winger is one of the men behind it Sunny Days Distillery, which produces a range of products including Ariane Premium Vodka.

It’s an incredibly surprising field of work for a one-time try-scoring machine who had a career full of highs on the field and alcohol-fueled lowlights off it.

In 2007, Walker – who has admitted drinking 100 drinks during a two-day binge – was put through an eight-week rehab program to treat the drinking and anxiety problems that ruined his football career.

Walker (pictured with his wife Courtney) has gone from being a problem drinker to a workday going from pub to pub without touching a drop

The former Queensland Origin winger (pictured playing for the Brisbane Broncos in 2001) excelled on the field but was a trouble magnet away from football as he drank.

The former Queensland Origin winger (pictured playing for the Brisbane Broncos in 2001) excelled on the field but was a trouble magnet away from football as he drank.

The 43-year-old once joked that he ‘played in more clubs than Slim Dusty’ after being sacked by the Roosters and Melbourne Storm over his drinking – but today he is a completely changed man and couldn’t be happier.

Walker is now so confident in his ability to resist the temptation of the bottle that he has no problem going from pub to pub selling vodka in his role as Sunny Days’ roving ambassador.

When asked how someone who once couldn’t control himself around alcohol can now make a living from it, he has to think for a moment before answering.

“Very good question – the simple answer is: I don’t drink anymore,” he told Daily Mail Australia.

‘I’ve been sober for almost fourteen months. At some point I came to a realization and my conscious and subconscious aligned and I gave it away.

“Having that realization, starting a vodka company and not drinking, is one of those things in my life journey and I feel very comfortable with where I sit.

Walker (pictured with Bulldogs great Willie Mason) was still drinking when he and some friends started the Sunny Days Distillery business, but he soon reached a turning point in his life

“I had that conversation with Wayne Bennett [his coach at the Broncos] about six months ago and he was very proud of me for going down that path.”

Walker was still drinking when he first started the company three years ago, but he eventually reached a fork in the road.

“At 43, there was a point where I had to grow up,” he said.

“That’s the lesson I learned.”

Walker – who also made headlines during his playing days when he dated Home and Away star Kate Ritchie – said his family and friends were “very supportive” of his move into the vodka business, despite his checkered past with toddy.

Not only has his teetotalism helped him expand the business to the point where Ariane and its sister brands Pink Dot Vodka and Sunny Days are sold in as many as 3,000 locations nationwide.

He is also in excellent physical condition, as evidenced by his training videos on Instagram, where it looks like he can still run outside and play in the first grade.

“It definitely helps if I wake up at 5 a.m. instead of coming home at 5 a.m.,” he laughed.

But since starting the company in 2020, things have been far from plain sailing for Walker.

He said he “cheated death” after suffering horrific leg injuries when a shipping container fell on him while he was selling his vodkas in far north Queensland in December 2021.

“I can tell you now that the last two years have been the hardest of my life,” he said.

‘I had to turn back the clock to two or three years old and learn to walk again.

‘When I was in a wheelchair for two to three months, I was relieved that I was still alive and still had my legs.’

Walker spent 71 days from April 2021 walking from Cairns to the Gold Coast to raise money for Beyond Blue, RizeUp Australia and the Alcohol and Drug Foundation, and is now proud to be seen as an inspiration by people who endured the same struggle as he went through.

“Waking up at 5 a.m. on that walk and seeing messages from an abundance of people wanting to see how I’m doing for the day and saying I’m giving them the strength to get through the day was humbling,” he said.

“People still contact me today and tell me I changed their lives.”

One of Australia’s top bodybuilders gets a 17-year prison sentence for selling large amounts of meth and coke – after trying to sell drugs to two cops in a rehab facility

A top bodybuilder dubbed ‘The Hulk’ has been sentenced to 17 years in prison after taking police to his meth lab at a rehab facility.

Luke McNally, 38, once ‘Mr Australia’ and owner of supplement chain Mass Nutrition, was sentenced in the County Court on Monday after being found guilty of dozens of drug-related charges.

He was found guilty of human trafficking for manufacturing commercial quantities of cocaine, MDMA, methylamphetamine and P2P.

McNally’s co-defendant, Wayne Doble, 65, was given a five-year prison sentence after being convicted of manufacturing and trafficking a commercial quantity of MDMA and possessing scientific glassware, equipment and substances for the purpose of this trafficking.

The court heard how McNally, 38, ran the drugs operation from three locations, including the former Daily Planet Brothel in Elsternwick. At the time of his offending, the location was a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center called The Wellbeing Planet.

McNally took undercover officers to a former brothel-turned-rehab facility to sell them drugs

The second location was next to the former brothel and the third was a garage in Wallan.

McNally met two undercover officers at St Kilda police station in July 2019 and, believing them to be meth users, told them to meet him at the rehab where he sold them $400 worth of ice in the common area.

He was arrested in December 2019 and has been behind bars ever since.

McNally pleaded guilty to selling drugs to the undercover officers and possessing a sawn-off 12-gauge shotgun. He also told undercover officers he had destroyed “evidence” in northern Victoria before a police raid.

He was born in Brisbane, grew up in northern NSW and received a bravery award for his efforts as a firefighter during the 2009 NSW floods.

He launched Mass Nutrition in 2006 and grew the company into the No. 1 nutrition brand in Australia, growing it into a $40 million empire.

However, the company was later investigated by police over claims that it was used to distribute drugs.

Judge Rosemary Carlin ruled that McNally had abused drugs and anabolic steroids. In 2014, he started using methylamphetamine to overcome the stress associated with his firefighting days. His drug use led to him committing his first crime in Queensland.

He will serve 10 years and seven months before being eligible for parole.

She was once part of the infamous hard-drinking Primrose Hill set – and was the first of the gang to get sober.

But toilet heiress Davinia Taylor has revealed she didn’t particularly enjoy going to rehab. In fact, she got so drunk flying to the clinic in 2009 that she blacked out, earning her a lifetime ban from British Airways.

The 46-year-old actress says she wanted to have “one last hurrah” on the flight after her late mother Lynne made her clean up her act.

Speaking to former Downing Street press secretary Andy Coulson about his podcast Crisis What crisis?she said: ‘I was banned by British Airways because of my behavior on the plane flying to South Africa.’

When asked what she did, she replied: ‘I don’t know, I blacked out. It was obvious they had alcohol on the plane, so I thought, okay, finally hurray.

“As anyone who has been through addiction will understand, this is what your brain will tell you to do, one last hurray, this is it. It’s so crazy.

“Instead of saying, ‘Okay, now we’re going to take off the cast and get on the plane,’ oh no, no, no, I’m going to make it a little bit harder on myself.”

Ms Taylor, who used to party with the likes of Kate Moss, Sadie Frost and Jude Law, says she arrived at the rehab center in a “completely confused state”, so confused that she wrote her name backwards, which she describes as “deranged”.

During her time there, she was forced to hand over custody of her son Gray to her estranged husband Dave Gardner, David Beckham’s best friend. The couple divorced the following year. She has not drunk alcohol since her stay and had three more sons.

Ms Taylor, a former Hollyoaks star whose father Alan made millions from the AM Paper empire, is now a wellbeing entrepreneur. She also said she has ADHD, which she combats with what she calls “biohacks” such as sunlight and cold showers.

Honey Boo Boo’s father, Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson, “went away” shortly before his scheduled check-in at Lamar Odom’s rehab in Kansas. TMZ on Friday.

Sources informed the outlet that the 17-year-old star’s father would “fly to Kansas on Thursday night” to begin treatment at the Gold Bridge Treatment Center to battle his prescription drug addiction.

However, 51-year-old Thompson “never got on that flight” and has since “given radio silence to the Odom group.” Sources explained that Lamar and his group assume Sugar Bear “just got cold feet.”

The reasoning is due to the fact that Mike initially stated that ‘he couldn’t go to rehab because of work’ and later moved on to state that ‘he couldn’t go because he was in the hospital for another health problem’.

Despite Sugar Bear’s no-show, sources told TMZ that “Lamar’s team” has no plans to “give up” on Thompson and “hope he will change his mind if he gets help.”

Mike shares daughter, Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson, with his ex, Mama June Shannon. He later married Jennifer Lamb in 2017 until their divorce was finalized in 2021.

The TV personality is known for appearing on shows like Mama June and Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

Sugar Bear doesn’t show up at Lamar’s rehab center a day later TMZ reported that the reality star reached out to the 43-year-old former Los Angeles Laker to secure a spot at one of his drug and rehabilitation centers.

The news also comes amid sources claiming that Sugar Bear is estranged from his daughter, Alana, though it’s unclear if his addiction struggles are related to their issues.

He sought help after Alana reunited with her mother “Mama” June Shannon for their first hug in “five or six years” on the latest episode of Mama June: Family Crisis.

Sources close to her father told the publication that he contacted Odom over the weekend to inquire about being admitted to one of his treatment centers.

Notably, the former professional basketball player, who overdosed in 2015, also bought a total of three drug treatment centers in California, TMZ reported in April.

While one house is ‘a residential care center for women’, the other houses focus on ‘men’s detoxification and residential treatment’.

According to Odom’s representative, the athlete herself vowed to be “very involved” with patients on their own journey to recovery and that he is “ready to start saving lives.”

Jackass star, Bam Margera, is a celebrity who recently checked into one of Odom’s facilities in Calabasas, but notably left his detox early.

Insiders also claimed that Thompson’s addiction struggles stemmed from his struggles with diabetes, which have been chronicled on Alana and June’s reality shows.

He has reportedly become addicted to some of the prescription drugs he takes as part of his treatment for diabetes, though it’s unclear what drugs they are or what they were intended for.

Thompson has also struggled with “severe anxiety and depression,” which can predispose a person to addiction and substance abuse, or make conditions worse. They can also be caused by drug abuse.

Sources said Thompson suffered a setback a month ago when his girlfriend ended their relationship, which has been bothering him ever since.

They also told the publication that Sugar Bear hopes to mend his relationship with his daughter Alana after graduating from rehab.

She famously had a difficult personal experience with addiction after her mother June Shannon became addicted to illegal drugs in recent years amid a self-destructive relationship with her ex-boyfriend Geno Doak.

Mama June has been trying to mend her relationship with daughters Honey Boo Boo, Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’, 23, and Jessica ‘Chubbs’, 26, who was portrayed in the latest sixth season of Mama June: Family Crisis.

June was arrested in 2019 and charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, giving Lauryn temporary custody of Honey Boo Boo and last year she was awarded full custody of the nearly 18-year-old.

During an episode that aired earlier last week on June 30, the star revealed to her daughters during an emotional therapy session that she had been “clean and sober for three years.”

Also during the episode, in which Mama June was joined by Alana, Lauryn and Jessica, as well as therapist Dr. Ish, Honey Boo Boo shared a special moment with her mother.

June and her three daughters were gathered in a kitchen around a counter while the therapist began a short session for the family to express their emotions out loud to develop “intimacy.”

June and Alana shared a heartfelt conversation, which led to the 17-year-old tearfully telling her mom, “I want to be like, my mom did this, or my mom is doing this for me, or I’m going to my house.” mommy today…”

Mama June then took Honey Boo Boo into a tight hug, with her daughter resting her head on her mother’s shoulder to continue crying.

The episode then cut into a confessional where Honey Boo Boo admitted to the viewers, “This is the first time Mommy actually gave me a hug in probably about – I’m not gonna lie – probably about five or six years.”

And it feels good to really get a loving hug from your mama. It felt really good. I’m not going to lie.’

Heather Locklear has been “struggling” with her sobriety after previously struggling with substance abuse issues.

“She has been drinking and told friends over a month ago that she wanted to go back to rehab,” said a source close to 61-year-old Locklear and her fiancé. Chris Heisserexclusively tells Us weekly. “But she’s not in rehab.”

While the insider shares that Locklear “didn’t leave her houserecentlyexcept for a few observations, ‘the Melrose place alum made headlines earlier this week when she was photographed looking distraught walking along the edge of a building in Malibu, California.

“It was very strange behavior to be sure, quite shocking,” said an eyewitness Us about the June 29 incident. She seemed to be talking 100 percent to herself. God knows what was going on. At one point she ran across the road making all those funny faces, then she went back and sat alone. And why was she walking along the wall in slippers? That was a seriously steep drop. If she had fallen, it would have been very dangerous.’

Locklear has sought treatment several times as she struggled with her sobriety and mental health. She completed her most recent stay in rehab in October 2019 and was ordered by a court to continue seeking therapy through an outpatient program. She was also placed in a 5150 psychiatric facility in November 2018 following reports that she assaulted 61-year-old Heisser.

Locklear has also had multiple run-ins with the law. She was arrested twice in 2018 for assaulting police officers, which sent her to prison for nearly 120 days. Instead, she reached a plea deal that required her to complete a treatment program and remain on probation for three years.

While Locklear seemingly celebrated a year of sobriety in April 2020, “Hugs come later! 1 year sober today!!!” she wrote via Instagram at the time — says the source Us that her problems continue.

“Friends say she may never have stopped drinking after a judge ordered unsupervised probation in 2019,” says the insider, adding: “She was not supervised, so no one knows if she ever stopped drinking, not even when.”

Locklear has also dealt with personal losses due to her substance abuse issues. Tell two additional sources Us that the actress has broken out with many friends in recent years.

Coleman Rayner

“Heather’s loved ones are deeply concerned for her and hope this is a wake-up call to seek help,” added a fourth source. “Everyone is trying to get to the bottom of exactly what’s going on — not just the day those photos were taken, but in general, because it’s very clear that something isn’t right.”

Locklear does have family in her corner, though. The same applies to the 25-year-old daughter Avwho shares the Locklear with ex-husband Richie Sambora. That’s what an insider told me Us exclusive in 2018 that the mother-daughter duo “have always been incredibly close” amidst all of Locklear’s personal woes. (Locklear and Sambora, 63, were married from 1994 to 2007.)

Ava, for her part, echoed the sentiment tellingly a year later Wingman magazine in February 2019: “I would love to follow in my mother’s footsteps.”

Locklear and Heisser were high school sweethearts in the 1970s. They rekindled their romance in 2017, but their relationship has not been without its rough moments. After police went to Locklear’s house several times in 2018 due to fighting between the couple, she was arrested for domestic violence. Us later confirmed that the couple called it quits in 2019. However, they later got back together and announced their engagement in June 2020.

Peter Davidson has entered rehab after struggling with PTSD and borderline personality disorder, multiple outlets report.

The 29 year old Saturday Night Live alum’s alleged admission to the facility comes weeks after he left an angry, explicit voicemail Daphna Nachminovitch, the Senior Vice President of Cruelty Investigations at PETA. His rant was in response to Nachminovitch releasing a statement condemning Davidson’s decision to purchase a cavapoo puppy rather than adopt from a shelter.

The comedian addressed the voicemail soon after, telling TMZ on June 6 that he wanted “a specific hypoallergenic dog,” as he is allergic to most breeds and believed adopting one “wasn’t an option, and if it was, it was rare.”

Davidson – which was filmed filling out paperwork for the dog with his girlfriend Pursue Sui Wonders — continued: “I haven’t seen my mom and sister cry like that in over 20 years. I tried to cheer up my family. I was already angry that the store had filmed me without my permission or acknowledgment. Then this organization (PETA) gave us a public example, which made our grieving situation worse. I’m upset. It was a bad choice of words. I shouldn’t have said what I said, but I don’t regret standing up for myself and my family.”

Weeks later, the King of Staten Island star was charged with reckless driving after driving his car into a Beverly Hills home in March. His arraignment is scheduled for July 27.

“We believe Mr. Davidson was guilty of reckless driving, which ultimately resulted in his involvement in a serious hit-and-run against a residence. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured as a result of this collision,” the Los Angeles district attorney said Us in a statement on June 16.

TMZ was the first to report the incident in which Davidson lost control of his vehicle while driving in the Flats neighborhood of Beverly Hills with Wonders, 27. Meet Cutth actor — who met Wonders in 2021 on the set of their movie Bodies Bodies Bodies — was not arrested at the time and authorities did not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

“The structure of the house has been badly damaged,” the owner of the house said exclusively Us at the time of the accident, adding that Davidson’s Mercedes was a total loss. “It was very dramatic.”

Prior to his current stint in rehab, Davidson has been candid about his struggles with mental health. While chatting with Glen Close for Variety‘s Actors on Actors series in January 2021, he opened up about receiving a borderline personality disorder diagnosis several years earlier.

“I was so confused all the time and just thought something was wrong and didn’t know how to deal with it,” he told the Fatal attraction star, 76. “When someone finally tells you, the weight of the world feels off your shoulders. You feel so much better.”

The New York native also opened up about a past rehab during a February 2020 stand-up performance in New York City. During his performance at Carolines on Broadway, he revealed that he had been working on new material during his time at Sierra Tucson rehab in Arizona, The New York Post reported at the time.

The performance wasn’t Davidson’s first time approaching his mental health struggle with humor. During an October 2018 SNL Weekend Update segment, the actor encouraged Kanye West to take psychiatric medication after the rapper, 46, went on a political diatribe in support of the then president Donald Trump during an earlier episode.

‘Take them. There is no shame in the medicine game. I’m on them. It’s great,” Davidson – who subsequently dated West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian from October 2021 to August 2022 – joked at the time.
