Watching out for pests is crucial.

Chafer grubs also eat grass roots – and birds tear up lawns trying to reach them.

Nematodes – microscopic bacterial worms – are one of the few methods to get rid of both.

David Hedges-Gowerchairman of the Association Lawn urged: “Choosing the right grasses is of utmost importance to make lawn maintenance easy. Don’t fall for the marketing talk about ‘sports grass, heavy grass or luxury grass’; all too often this is ryegrass, which inevitably fails.

“Go native with bentgrass and fescue to make life easier.

“Make sure your soil is aerated, this is so important. But instead of using your usual fork tines, use a fork with hollow tines, otherwise you’ll just compact the soil. But if you don’t have one, aerating in any way is crucial to prevent soil saturation.

He added: “Prune lawns at least once a year by scarifying. Although ryegrass does not respond well to pruning, native bentgrass and fescue excel. And mowing makes the lawn thicker.

“Nourish both the soil and the grass. Use soil conditioners such as Truegrass to support the growth of beneficial microorganisms, creating perfect growing conditions.

“Be careful with lawn food if you have ryegrass – it just makes it grow upwards and doesn’t help the roots – so you’re just adding to your compost pile.

“But ultimately, whatever turf you’re given, it’s all about improving and maintaining soil structure, through pruning, aerating, grass seed selection and providing the right nutrients.”

A. Have you thought about living with the moss? It can provide better coverage than grass and often grows where grass does not. Or you can use a hand rake to get it out. Organic moss killers such as Mo Bacter can take a long time to work and are expensive. If you want to buy a chemical remover, the lawn will turn black. Scarifying and feeding works the fastest.

CAMPBELL HATTON is back in action this weekend as he fights for his first professional title as a boxer.

Hatton, son of legendary British hero Ricky, has had fourteen fights so far, winning them all with varying degrees of success.

Hill has called those criticizing the UFC 300 main event “crazy.”

“Honestly, I think it’s crazy because for the most part, a lot of these people are the same people who have been calling me ‘cry baby’ for the better part of a year or however long, but it’s crazy to see how a card can become stacked,” he said.

The outing comes after an interesting past week for Pip.

Last week, Pim and PE Nation founder Claire Greaves officially parted ways after more than a decade together.

The friends, who have recently been hit by rumors of a split, co-founded the athleisure brand in Sydney in 2015 and have since turned it into a thriving global business.

However, Claire has now stepped back from running the label, while Pip will continue to run the brand solo.

This move marks the end of one of the most enduring relationships in Australian fashion and represents a huge change for the popular streetwear brand.

Claire – who split from her husband, filmmaker Timothy Tregoning, in 2022 – will now “pursue other creative endeavors” as she takes her career in a new direction.

The brand confirmed the news in a statement to the Daily telegramwhich said: ‘After ten years leading PE Nation with friend and co-founder Pip Edwards, Claire Greaves has made the decision to step down from the day-to-day running of the business.

“Claire will remain on the board and maintain her shareholding as the company continues to thrive in the highly creative, visionary hands of Pip Edwards at the helm, together with the board of directors.

‘The company has secured and developed an extremely strong product and design team.

“Pip and the company fully support Claire’s transition to pursue other creative endeavors and wish her all the best in her next chapter.”

Shortly after the news broke, Pip confirmed on Instagram that PE Nation is now a B Corp certified company as she announced the exciting news for the brand.

B Corps are companies that meet high standards of social environmental performance and transparency, and Pip detailed the two-year journey to achieving the certification.

Alongside photos of herself standing solo in front of PE Nation signs, she wrote: “PE Nation was born out of a love for an active life. A lifestyle that thrives in the outdoors of our urban coastal environment. We love connecting people and communities and shaping the way we feel and move.

‘Personally, I have a deep innate love and appreciation for our Earth and the ocean, and I understand that this ultimately sets the context for how we can live and feel good. Before launching PE Nation together, the pair worked together two years earlier after meeting at Australian designer Sass & Bide.

Pip and Claire then turned their luxury activewear label into an international brand sold by 600 individual retailers in 95 countries, creating a host of celebrity clients.

But last year Pip was forced to deny rumors of a falling out with Claire after her office was cleared out and turned into a ‘creative space’ following a months-long absence.

Daily Mail Australia revealed rumors were swirling that the deep friendship at the heart of the business may have crumbled after a luxury trip.

A source with knowledge of the company’s internal dealings claimed at the time: ‘Pip and Claire have had a falling out.’

The source said Claire took a month off in December 2022, extended her break for another month in January and then opted for another three months of leave.

However, a PE Nation spokeswoman subsequently denied the pair had an argument and insisted they did remain ‘dedicated and collaborative business partners’.

“Claire is taking well-deserved time off and remains an important part of PE Nation,” the spokeswoman said at the time. “(She) is taking a well-deserved sabbatical for a few months.”

Claire reiterated the message when approached for comment, adding: ‘The company and Pip have both been huge supporters of my sabbatical and I am grateful to have this time off with my family.’

In December 2022, Claire announced the launch of her new luxury accommodation venture in Byron Bay called ‘Sun Ranch’.

“I’m feeling really itchy and excited about the unveiling of this new project that me and my amazing friends have been working on,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.

“Sun Ranch is a 1970s-inspired, offbeat luxury 55-acre estate,” according to the Instagram page.

‘An ultra-chic guest house with five rooms and six epic barns. Abundant with unpretentious good times. Coming in 2023.”

Her work stoppage followed a period of turmoil in her life during which she quietly parted ways with her husband Timothy in mid-2022 after 11 years of marriage.

The latest anti-aging skincare trend may surprise you, especially since it’s being embraced by women in their 20s.

Collagen banking is a concept where young women start building their collagen levels at an early age. When their skin starts to shrink as they age – a process in which most women naturally lose collagen – it means their skin is primed.

So, how does one conserve their collagen – which provides structure and support to the skin – and does starting early really work when it comes to preventing signs of aging?

To find out, FEMAIL spoke with New York City-based dermatologists Carmen Castilla and Hadley Kingwho explained how to embrace the latest skincare craze.

The concept has gone viral on TikTok as skincare experts urge young women to invest in their skin early and improve the… #collagenbank hashtag to discuss the best products.

There are several approaches to storing collagen, but sunscreen and retinoids are part of the intensive skin care process, as are chemical peels, microneedling, Botox or fillers.

Board certified dermatologist at New York Dermatology Group Carmen Castile has found that her patients “have a significant interest in increasing collagen production.”

However, it’s not all about collagen production when it comes to maintaining youthful skin as you age.

“While collagen is often fixated on collagen, having healthy-looking skin involves more than just increasing collagen levels,” Dr. warned. Castilla, explaining that several factors accelerate skin aging.

Dr. Castilla suggested using retinoids and sunscreen, which focus on maintaining healthy skin rather than just increasing collagen production.

The dermatologist thinks the sole focus “could be a reason why many ‘hero’ ingredients that focus solely on collagen production fail to live up to their hype.”

‘We all go through the aging process with decreased collagen production and other age-related skin changes. The rate of these changes can be slowed by the use of sunscreen, retinoids and antioxidants that protect the integrity of our collagen and other skin support structures,” said Dr. Castile.

“It’s much easier to slow that descent than to try to reverse those changes when they’re already there,” Dr. advised. Castile.

But she stated that there is evidence that “a diet low in sugar and refined carbohydrates is associated with younger-looking skin.”

The dermatologist also explained that there are procedures that can help increase collagen production, including Reapplication of lasers such as Fraxel, Clear and Brilliant, CO2 and Erbium, as well as microneedling with RF, has some evidence of increasing collagen production.

Dr. Castilla said non-invasive tightening devices such as Sofwave and Ultherapy can also increase collagen production.
