Queen Camilla arrived on the Isle of Man to present the Letters Patent conferring City status on the Borough of Douglas earlier today. 

Cheering crowds and Ellan Vannin pipes and drums lined the streets as Her Majesty, 76, arrived at Douglas Borough Council this afternoon, shortly after landing at Ronaldsway Airport.

It is a significant day for the council with Camilla set to sign the Letters Patent conferring City status on the Borough of Douglas, which was awarded during the 2022 Platinum Jubilee.

King Charles III would have been at the memorable service but has reduced public engagements following his cancer diagnosis.

Nonetheless, a cheerful Camilla represented Charles, 75, and delivered a speech on his behalf.

Waving Union Jack flags in their hands, excited school children patiently waited outside the building to welcome the Queen to Douglas.

Upon Her Majesty’s arrival, Lieutenant Governor Sir John Lorimer greeted Camilla outside the City Hall.

Looking typically elegant, Camilla donned an all-blue ensemble with a mid-length tailored coat, an opulent sapphire brooch, and a matching navy blue Chanel bag.

The Queen completed her ensemble with her favourite black suede boots from Eliot Zed.

The mother-of-two appeared in high spirits as she greeted council members outside the Douglas City Hall.

Once inside, Camilla delivered a speech on behalf of the King before presenting the Letters Patent, confirming the capital of the Isle of Man as a city.

Douglas was awarded the elevated status during Queen Elizabeth’s 2022 Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Alongside Natalie Byron-Teare, Mayor of Douglas, Camilla conducted a short walkabout around the hall. 

After Camilla signed the Letters Patent, she unveiled a commemorative plaque outside the City Hall before meeting with members of the public – and even waving for a selfie with one. 

Camilla’s visit follows explosive claims that at least one staff member had attempted to access personal details about Kate following her planned abdominal surgery in January. 

The chief executive of the London Clinic, Al Russell, finally broke his silence this afternoon, saying in a statement: ‘Everyone at the London Clinic is acutely aware of our individual, professional, ethical and legal duties with regards to patient confidentiality.

‘We take enormous pride in the outstanding care and discretion we aim to deliver for all our patients that put their trust in us every day.

‘We have systems in place to monitor management of patient information and, in the case of any breach, all appropriate investigatory, regulatory and disciplinary steps will be taken.

‘There is no place at our hospital for those who intentionally breach the trust of any of our patients or colleagues.’

The Princess is said to be aware of the allegations, while a spokesperson for Kensington Palace said: ‘This is a matter for the London Clinic.’

Earlier today the health secretary Maria Caulfield, who is herself a nurse, said the rules were ‘very clear’ about the ban on accessing private medical information for no medical purpose.

She told LBC: ‘My understanding is that police have been asked to look at it – whether they take action is a matter for them.

‘But the Information Commissioner can also take prosecutions, can also issue fines, the Nursing and Midwifery Council and other health regulators can strike you off the register if the breach is serious enough.

‘So there are particularly hefty implications if you are looking at notes for medical records that you should not be looking at.’

Despite Ms Caulfield’s claims, the Met said it ‘was not aware of any referral at this time’.

The princess was admitted to the hospital for abdominal surgery on January 16.

Details of Kate’s condition have not been disclosed but Kensington Palace previously said it was not cancer related and that the princess wished for her personal medical information to remain private.

It comes after King Charles has been seen leaving Clarence House followed by Queen Camilla after days of royal conspiracy theories. 

Footage shows crowds of royal fans lined up to see the monarchs leave in their cars surrounded by security today.

One video shows Camilla smiling and waving at the public from the back seat of her car as she passes along the Mall. 

The King and Queen’s appearances follow days of growing conspiracy theories regarding the Royal Family, after The Princess of Wales made a surprise visit to her favourite farm shop on Saturday. 

Kate, who has stepped away from the spotlight as she recovers from abdominal surgery, was spotted looking ‘happy, healthy and relaxed’ as she picked up goods from the independent store just a mile from her Adelaide Cottage home this weekend. 

But conspiracy theories are still proliferating online with some suggesting the photo is not the royal but instead a Kate Middleton lookalike. 

Online speculation has spread in recent weeks about the whereabouts of the Princess of Wales as she continues to recover from her January surgery, with palace aides saying they would not comment on her recovery.

Kensington Palace has always said the Princess would be ‘unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter’ – and earlier this month aides condemned the ‘madness of social media’ as unsubstantiated theories continued to spread.

Meanwhile, King Charles has also taken a step back from royal duties as he continues to receive treatment for cancer.  

There had been hopes the farm shop video would put to bed concerns about Kate’s health and discredit the bizarre, baseless and hurtful conspiracy theories being spread about her online.

One royal source told the Telegraph: ‘Finally everyone can calm down’.

However, theories continue to proliferate now that the video has been published.

Among the speculation being circulated by cruel trolls are that the Princess has died, or is using a body double or even her sister Pippa as a stand-in; unkind provocateurs have even suggested that she is in a coma or being faked with AI.

The farm shop video came just days after Kate admitted editing her own Mother’s Day photo released to the public, sparking more speculation online about her whereabouts. 

The Princess of Wales took the blame for the picture being changed, which led to its withdrawal by six news agencies in the hours after it was published.

Shirley Manson is happy to see the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame giving flowers to her fellow female music icons.

“As I said to the team here at the Hall, it is – unfortunately still – so unusual to see women represented in any national museum,” said Manson, 57, We weekly exclusively about the opening of “Revolutionary women in music: left of center.” The Garbage singer was on hand when the exhibit opened on March 8 at the Rock Hall in Cleveland, Ohio, and was one of the first to see this collection of groundbreaking and rebellious musicians from the 1970s to the present.

“It’s really moving to see this exhibition of all these different types of talent, these myriad facets of female artistry,” says Manson. “I didn’t expect it to affect me this much, but when I walked in I was really struck by what an unusual event this is, not only for me, but for the other visiting artists. To be honest, we were all a bit impressed by it.”

Manson said one of the artists she would like to see validated by the exhibition Alice bag, the pioneering punk rocker who led The Bags in the 1970s. ‘Earlier today they showed a video of Alice. Me and Jane [Wiedlin of the Go-Go’s]’, we both shouted because Alice has been overlooked for a long time. Her impact on American punk music is great. And it’s really exciting to see her recognized here.”

“I feel like many of the women I saw at the exhibition yesterday, I expected to see them there,” Manson added. “These are all women who have made a significant mark on the music industry for one reason or another, and again, in countless different ways. But yeah, I was excited to see everyone. To be honest, it’s a bit embarrassing. I went from one artist to another and screamed with excitement.”

Manson admits that she is “a huge fan of female artists” and that she has made it a priority throughout her career to elevate the voices of her fellow women, as she is aware of the challenges they face in the music industry confronted.

“For women who are not the easiest to categorize, or who are not the most willing to smile and pretend that everything is fine – traditionally they like to challenge the status quo, and the status quo holds doesn’t like to be challenged often, Manson says Us. “So that’s all part of this exhibition. And it’s something I feel strongly about. A healthy society depends on discussion, argumentation and the sharing of ideas. So I feel like this exhibition is proof of that.”

Manson once said that performing was “an act of defiance” for her, as she overcame her natural shyness and became a global icon of power and brutality. When asked if she recognized a similar thread among all the artists featured in the “Revolutionary Women in Music” exhibit, she said, “I definitely [do].”
“I can’t really speak for everyone because I don’t know all the individual drivers,” she says. “But for me, [performing is] a way to prove that I exist. As a woman you can sometimes feel invisible in society. And when women’s rights are hindered, it’s so frustrating. I think women suffer from the feeling that they are not listened to, not heard and not seen.”

“So as an artist you can defy that censorship and silence,” she adds. “There is freedom in performance. That is something I cherish immensely.”

While some might appreciate the success of artists like Beyonce And Taylor Swift As evidence of progress, Manson said that it is generally difficult to convince someone fully involved in patriarchy of the struggles women continue to face to this day. “They think: ‘Women dominate the charts. What are you talking about?’ Unfortunately, it is a little more complicated than that,” she says.

“In some ways, things are better for the younger generations of women, who have learned from the generations that came before them,” she continues. “The young artists I meet are so much more focused on the system in which they have to be creative. They are not as naive as we all were. We were very, very naive because there just wasn’t that much evidence for us.

“The ability to actually educate yourself about music and the music industry is so much easier than it was for my generation,” she says, adding that the new crop of rising female stars she has met are “much fiercer than I ever was.”

Manson also cites “the eradication of women’s rights in America” — pointing to the Supreme Court’s 2022 overturning of Roe v. Wade and several states subsequently banning abortion — as evidence that not as much progress has been made as she would like.

“It’s a very scary time when old men in politics seem to believe that they can make more qualified decisions about women’s health than women themselves,” she says. Us. “That in itself is just a complete sublimation of women, and it must stop. And I think the great thing about an exhibition like this is that it reminds people of the value of women in our culture, which is that we should be treated with the same respect as our male counterparts. It is absolutely essential and necessary for a healthy functioning society.”

The ‘Revolutionary Women in Music: Left of Center’ highlights pioneers across all genres of music. Fans of the White Stripes can see it Meg White‘s iconic ‘Seven Nation Army ‘ look with her kick drum and Christina Aguilera‘s wardrobe of the Stripped tour. Visitors see Alabama Shakes’ electric guitars Brittany Howard and that of Halestorm Lzzy Hale like Natalie Koopman‘s outfits from the ‘Ophelia’ video.

The exhibition also includes pieces celebrating artists including SZA, Lisa Loeb, Malina Moye, Bjork, Rihanna, Janelle Monae, Billie Eilish, Kim Gordon, Tracy Chapman, Sinead O’Connor, Queen Latifah, Chrissie HyndeThe runaways, Liz Phair, Ciara And Pink.

Manson, Weidlin, Loeb and Moye helped christen the exhibition and open it to the public in early March.

This validation from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame may be bittersweet for some, as similar institutions have often overlooked or outright rejected female artists. Manson offered a vision as he reflected on the importance of being recognized by these mainstream entities.

“I think all artists, for the most part, feel ignored,” she said. “It’s part of being an artist. You almost always feel like you are not being heard. But there’s something monumental about being inducted into a national museum, [validating] a story about something that has been so important to your entire life.”

“I had to tell my dad that this was happening, and he was so proud,” she continued. “It’s very rare that so many of us, so many different women, are recognized in this way. And I hope we see more of that in all aspects.”

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s “Revolutionary Women in Music: Left of Center” is now open. Tickets are available on site or at the box office location website.

Sale of the OC‘S Polly Brindle assures fans that they will get a look at the film Alex Hall And Tyler Stanaland‘s relationship after they shared a steamy kiss in the season 2 finale.

“I feel like season 3 really shows the evolution of their relationship and how they navigate each other and where they end up,” Brindle, 37, told exclusively We weekly on March 9 at the ICON Luxury Travel Lounge, hosted by Peta Phipps. “It’s a wild ride.”

During season 2 of the Netflix reality show, Hall, 33, and Stanaland, 34, answered questions from costars and viewers about their chemistry but denied they were dating following his divorce from ex-wife. Brittany Snow.

However, in the finale, the agents relented and kissed in a hot tub during Brindle’s birthday party.

“You see it clearly in season 2 [that] we are investigating a number of things,” Stanaland said Us in September 2023. “It leads to a steamy moment and I think we’re still kind of trying to figure it out, but we remain really good friends and I don’t have an answer [on where we stand] for you right now.”

Hall added that viewers will have to “keep waiting for Season 3” to find out what really happened after the makeout.

Tensions between Hall and Stanaland seemed high when a trailer for the new season was released in November 2023. “You made me swoon and then you f–king disappeared,” Hall said in a heated exchange with Stanaland. “What do you want?”

Although Brindle isn’t ready to kiss and talk about her friends’ status today, the Oppenheim Group real estate agent is still close to both of them.

“Me and Hall are super close,” she said Us at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills. “Me and Tyler are very close. Gio [Helou] I love and Austin [Victoria] is my boy.”

One costar she may not be too fond of is Sean Palmeri. In the season 3 trailerPalmieri, 30, appears to be feuding with several costars and comes close to a physical altercation with Victoria, 32.

According to Brindle, the trailer is just a taste of what’s to come in a wild season.

“There’s a certain person who had no screen time in seasons 1 and 2 and you’re like, ‘Where are you from?’” Brindle said. “That was actually quite sad to see someone stoop so low for screen time. You see exactly what happens and how it ends.”

In November 2023, Palmieri announced he was leaving the Oppenheim Group and returning to San Diego County to work in the real estate industry.

“Unfortunately, the Oppenheim Group was not the culture that suited me and I am very excited about the future as I have just signed as a partner with an amazing, top producing team and mentor. Meghan Markle has launched her new lifestyle blog, American Riviera Orchard.

The brand, is believed to be selling cutlery – knives forks spoons – cookbooks and electronic cookbooks, coffee, jams jellies and butters.

It also extends to a physical shop from which tableware, mugs, jams, tablecloths and recipe books could be sold.

Before her life in the royal family, Meghan ran a lifestyle blog called ‘The Tig’.

The passion project’ back in 2014, naming it after her favourite Tignanello red wine.

While up and running, the blog was filled with insights into the former actress’s life, including her relationship with her now estranged father and then best friend Jessica Mulroney.

To her devoted fans, Meghan opened up about her struggles of not fitting in during her time at High School, filling her lunch times with endless extra-curriculum activities just so she did not have to ‘eat lunch alone’.

She closed down The Tig after meeting Prince Harry, of course.

Meghan’s longtime friend, Suits director and producer Silver Tree, explained in Harry and Meghan’s Netflix docuseries: ‘When she first was describing [the blog] to me, she was like, “It’s like your best friend telling you all the fun things you wish you knew about in one place.”‘

Meghan ‘always felt like she never fitted in’ 

On her 33rd birthday Meghan declared that she had found true happiness, by being ‘kind’ to herself.

The Duchess of Sussex said her ’20s were brutal’ and her ‘teens were even worse’ where she agonised over ‘how to fit in’.

She recalled in high school spending her lunch times full of extra curriculum activities so she could avoid sitting alone in the canteen.

Writing on her blog she said: ‘My high school had cliques: the black girls and white girls, the Filipino and the Latina girls.

‘Being biracial, I fell somewhere in between. So every day during lunch, I busied myself with meetings – French club, student body, whatever one could possibly do between noon and 1pm- I was there.

‘Not so that I was more involved, but so that I wouldn’t have to eat alone.’

As she entered into her early twenties she said she struggled with ‘judging my weight, my style, my desire to be as cool/as hip/as smart/as ‘whatever’ as anyone else’.

When she was a struggling actress at 24, auditioning for different roles, a casting director told her to wear ‘less makeup’ and instead be ‘more Meghan’.

This was a mantra she decided to take with her throughout the rest of her twenties and into her thirties – ‘more Meghan’.

At the time of writing the blog post, Meghan had been divorced from ex-husband Trevor Engelson for two years and was yet to meet her Prince.

She told her fans they did not need anyone else to ‘complete’ them and that they are ‘enough’ themselves.

The ‘unladylike habits’ she vowed to give up

 Just months before she met Prince Harry, Meghan set out to ditch some of her ‘unladylike habits’ in the New Year.

Writing to fans on The Tig on January 1 2016, the future Duchess disclosed her goals and priorities for the year.

This included running a marathon, to stop swearing and to stop biting her nails as well as re-learning French.

She wrote: ‘These make my New Year’s resolution list nearly (AKA actually every) single year. The marathon hasn’t happened. The swearing comes in lulls triggered by being overworked or feeling mighty cheeky after a couple drinks.’

But Meghan also decided to not be so hard on herself if she failed to complete these goals.

She added: ‘This year I resolve to not have a resolution. If I can’t run a marathon, that’s okay. (I’m getting older – my knees are bothering me.) If it takes me a couple more years to lock down that French tutor and nail the language j’adore oh so much, that’s cool too.

‘My nails will be fine, and if I toss out a four letter word once in a blue moon, well frankly I think it adds character.’

Her one aim for the year was to ‘approach life playfully’ and ‘leave room for magic’, as advised by her Suit’s co-star Gina Torres.

Her thoughts on ‘Princess Kate’s wedding

She’s insisted on numerous occasions that she knew very little about the Royal Family before meeting Prince Harry, but Meghan Markle was certainly aware of one of his relatives – Kate Middleton .

A blog post from the Duchess of Sussex’ now defunct website The Tig reveals her feelings about royal princesses before she met Prince Harry – and they’re not completely flattering.

The former actress reflected on the ‘pomp and circumstance’ of the wedding of ‘Princess Kate’, and made a rather scathing reference to ‘grown women’ who entertain ‘childhood fantasies’ about fairytale princesses.

The entry from 2014, written by Meghan during her time on Suits, spoke about her own childhood dream of becoming ‘She-Ra, Princess of Power’.

A blog post from Meghan Markle’s now defunct website The Tig referred to the extravagant wedding of Prince William to Kate Middleton in 2011, and the Duchess seemed to take a dim view of ‘childhood fantasies’ about fairytale princesses

Describing her icon, she wrote: ‘We’re definitely not talking about Cinderella here,’ and then mentioned the ‘endless conversation’ about Kate Middleton’s lavish wedding to Prince William in 2011.

Speaking of her own childhood fantasies, she said: ‘Little girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power.

‘For those of you unfamiliar with the ’80s cartoon reference, She-Ra is the twin sister of He-Man and a sword-wielding royal rebel known for her strength.

‘We’re definitely not talking about Cinderella here.

‘Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate.’

‘She’s savvy and fashionable and très cool, and also va va va voom pritaaaaay’

 Before she moved to the UK, where she remained for less than two years as a working royal, Meghan had a close group of friends in Toronto.

Her closest friend was said to be Canadian mother-of-three and stylist Jessica Mulroney, who she met on the set of Suits and for years they were reportedly inseparable.

In December 2015, Meghan raved about her bestie on the defunct blog: ‘She’s savvy and fashionable and très cool, and also va va va voom pritaaaaay.

‘And here’s the other thing – she also happens to be an incredible stylist, clothing the likes of Canada’s First Lady, Sophie Trudeau.’

The piece went on to list Jessica’s style tips for the festive period.

The women remained extremely close over the following years, so much so that Meghan even called Jessica on the night Harry proposed.

In the Netflix series, the Suit’s star appears to have video called Jessica where she said: ‘Oh my God Jess, it’s happening. He told me not to peek.’

Their close relationship was once again shown at the royal wedding, when Jessica was included in the bridal party, with her young daughter Ivy acting as a flower girl.

Her sons, Brian and John, were also page boys. The stylist was given a starring role as she entered the chapel alongside the Princess of Wales.

The day of the royal wedding Jessica shared snaps captioned: ‘Proud friend. Proud mom.’

More recently, however, the pair’s friendship seems to have cooled, with Jessica being noticeably absent from the couple’s Netflix docuseries, which included Meghan’s other friends like tennis star Serena Williams and Suit’s co-star Abigail Spencer.

She also made no public comments on the revelations made in Harry’s biography Spare.

It appeared as though the friendship started to become distant in 2020, after the style guru was called out by lifestyle blogger Sasha Exeter for comments she made regarding ‘white privilege’ while the pair had a conversation about the Black Lives Matters movement.

Following on from the blogger’s claims, Jessica issued three public apologies but despite this was still dropped by a number of television networks.

This included her stints as a fashion contributor on Good Morning America as well as the Canadian TV network, who said they would be pulling all episodes of her wedding-themed reality show, I Do Redo.

Jessica has not commented on rumours of them drifting apart.

In January, however, Jessica did share a snap of herself at the Duke and Duchess’ wedding, which was seen on the Netflix docuseries.

The style guru shared the picture on her Instagram without a caption and disabled comments on the post in a cryptic move.

 The day Meghan said her life changed forever – and it involved a £36 dress, rattling car and cheap blow-dry

One post on her blog, from January 2015 recalled the moment the Duchess said her life changed forever.

Meghan, at the time a struggling actress, had just finished an audition for a television show pilot called A Legal Mind – later to become known as the legal drama Suits.

But she thought she ‘blew it’ telling her agent: ‘I kept forgetting my lines, I was distracted, and I blew it. Which sucks because I really wanted this one. I really like Rachel.’

Following what she thought was a setback, the actress wrote: ‘I went home and ate my feelings (likely some iteration of bread and cheese – pizza, quesadilla, it didn’t matter) because I wasn’t in a place to be able to let it go. I wanted it, and I lost my shot at it. Or so I thought.’

Instead, the casting directors liked her enough to invite her back to audition in front of the studio and network bosses.

After being given some last-minute advice about her appearance, ‘more conservative, think hair pulled back and business attire’, she bought a $45 outfit and had her ‘hair blown out at DryBar because it was close to my house’.

The audition ended up being a success despite how ‘nervous’ and ‘hungry’ the actress said she was at the time.

She added: ‘I had no idea that this late August morning of 2011 would change my life.

‘That I would get the part. That I would live in a little apartment in Manhattan to shoot the pilot. That over a lunch of lentil salad and muhammara on Beverly Drive, I would get a call saying we were picked up. That I would film the series in Canada.’

During the blog post, she also gushed about her friends and cast-mates Gina Torres and Sarah Rafferty.

She said: ‘I didn’t know that the regal looking woman was Gina Torres, who would end up feeding me picadillo and white, burgundy in her home.

‘Or that Sarah Rafferty would become not just my Suits sister wife, but my sister – the one I hike with, and vent with, and laugh til it hurts with.

‘I didn’t know my cast would become my family, and that so many #suitors would welcome us into their homes.’

 How she bonded with tennis champion Serena Williams over hot sauces

Serena Williams and Meghan’s friendship has been well documented over the years.

The tennis superstar and the Duchess first met in 2010 at a Superbowl Party, then once again in 2014 where they ‘hit it off immediately’ according to The Tig.

The close relationship between the pair was evident when Serena starred in the Duke and Duchesses’ Netflix docuseries, Meghan and Harry.

She featured in the third episode where she said: ‘I’m looking at it through the lens of my friend, not a princess.

‘They as a couple are so tight. And rely on each other so much… I was just super excited.’

Williams added Meghan and Harry are each other’s’ ‘best, best, best friends’.

In 2014, Meghan spoke about the first time she met Serena: ‘We hit it off immediately, taking pictures, laughing through the flag football game we were both playing in, and chatting not about tennis or acting, but about all the good old fashioned girly stuff.

‘So began our friendship. She quickly became a confidante I would text when I was traveling, the friend I would rally around for her tennis matches, and the down to earth chick I was able to grab lunch with just a couple weeks ago in Toronto.’

Their friendship continued to grow over their love of fashion, ‘hot sauces’ and their ‘endless ambition’.

After Meghan became Prince Harry’s girlfriend in 2016, the Duchess leaned on the tennis pro who advised her on how to handle the paparazzi.

According to Mark Hodgkinson in Serena: A Graphic Biography of the Greatest Tennis Champion, the women’s friendship evolved through regular phone calls and texts.

Serena told Meghan to ‘stop being so nice’, according to Hodgkinson.

She went on to be invited to Meghan’s hen do and her New York baby shower in 2019.

More recently, as well as appearing in the Netflix series, Meghan invited her to star on the first episode of her Spotify podcast Archetypes.

The wish Meghan makes every birthday inspired by her mother 

Every year for her birthday Meghan makes the same wish, inspired by her own mother Doria.

She said that every birthday acts as ‘your own personal New Year’ where you can make resolutions for yourself.

Celebrating her birthday in August 2016, around the time she met Prince Harry for the first time, Meghan wished for ‘a big old happy blank filled with ‘more surprises, more adventure, more opportunities to grow, more days filled with giggles and cheeky jokes, more delicious meals, and more inspiration’.

 Her ‘Eat, Pray. Love’ month

In one of her later blog posts, months after meeting Prince Harry, Meghan wrote how she had spent the summer like the main character in Elizabeth Gilbert’s novel Eat, Pray, Love.

The Duchess had decided to spend her August hiatus from filming Suits with one simple mission, to ‘eat everything, pray (meditate) often, and simply love her (my) life, every ounce of it’.

Meghan spent the summer on ‘extravagant’ getaways, accompanied by some ‘trusted friends who met her (me) along the way for my various adventures’ who helped her ‘celebrate’ her life.

Speaking to her devoted fans, who would have seen her gallivanting abroad throughout that month, she explained she did not always lead such a luxurious life.

Meghan wrote: ‘It wasn’t long ago (cough – about ten years ago – cough) that I only had $40 in my bank account, that I could barely book an audition, and that my circle of friends was even smaller.

‘But even then, without all the pomp and circumstance, I made time to celebrate my life. Maybe it was pizza and a bottle of two buck chuck from Trader Joe’s with a couple girlfriends, tucked in for the night sitting on my living room floor.

‘Or maybe it was a dance party in my tiny apartment or a sobbing session to purge all of those feelings with my nearest and dearest.’

Lisa of K-pop group Blackpink is the latest star to join the cast of HBO’s hot comedy-drama series The White Lotus.

The 26-year-old performer – originally from Thailand – will be making her acting debut in the show’s highly anticipated third series, Variety has revealed.

Her on-screen breakthrough comes following a busy year for the singer and dancer, who just last week announced the opening of her own label – called LLOUD.

In an Instagram post – which featured a sleek black and white photoshoot that showcased the entertainer in a glamorous suit and tie – Lisa, introduced her ‘platform to showcase my vision in music and entertainment’.

‘Join me on this exciting journey to push through new boundaries together,’ she added.

The move – followed by fellow bandmate Jennie Kim’s launch of her agency ODD ATELIER – along with Lisa’s White Lotus role, appears to be the latest in a move to establish herself as a solo performer in the wake of the group’s split from huge South Korean agency Young Entertainment (YG) as individual artists. 

While they remain under their long-time label as Blackpink, Lisa, Jennie, Rose and Jisoo now have the opportunity to establish more of their own endeavours, Rolling Stone says.

And it’s not the first time one of the girls has taken up an acting gig. Jennie made her showbiz debut in HBO’s controversial The Idol as villain Dyanne – whereas Jisoo is known for a number of K-drama appearances and film work.

Lisa will be filming The White Lotus in her native Thailand, and will be credited under her given name Lalisa Manobal, but not much is known about her role yet. The series is expected to air sometime in 2025.

The K-pop star – who is revered for her dancing skills – most recently sparked controversy after taking part in a Crazy Horse cabaret performance.

She hit the stage for a string of super exclusive five shows at the Parisian venue during Paris Fashion Week in October.

The limited space could only accommodate a small number of fans, leaving the rest to have to peep the event via photos shared online.

Among those able to snag seats were Lisa’s Blackpink group mates and stars including Rosalía, Kaia Gerber, and Austin Butler.

Crazy Horse is known for nudity and a no-filming policy, although TMZ  reported that Lisa did not strip down to nothing.

The raunchy performance sparked fears that Lisa was being blacklisted in China – after she had her account suspended on the country’s biggest social media site Weibo.

While there was no nudity, the provocative nature of the revue combined with Crazy Horse’s racy reputation sparked outrage across Asia, where Lisa is a top star. 

Weibo hadn’t given an official reason for suspending Lisa’s account outside of a message stating, ‘This account can no longer be viewed due to reports of violations of laws, regulations, and Weibo community agreement’.

On top of that, the official Weibo accounts for luxury brands Celine and Bvlgari, which Lisa is a celebrity ambassador for, removed all of the star’s images from their accounts. 

However just a month later, the idol – alongside her Blackpink bandmates – was invited for a prestigious state banquet in Buckingham Palace and received an honourary MBE from King Charles III.

The monarch, 75, appeared to be in high spirits as he held an Investiture, in the presence of The President of the Republic of Korea and the First Lady, during their official State Visit to the United Kingdom.

He invested the Blackpink members in recognition of the band’s role as COP26 Advocates for the summit in Glasgow 2021. 

Blackpink were first appointed by the UK Government as COP26 Advocates in January 2021. Non-UK citizens can be considered for an honour for their work within the UK. 

The group released a series of videos aimed at encouraging young people to learn more about climate change, which resulted – the government says – in ‘significantly increased engagement’ with the Summit from a young audience.

Lisa later said she will ‘forever cherish’ the moment in a gushing Instagram post.

She had shared an excited photo of herself holding up the award, seemingly moments after the investiture ceremony, and posed for a smiling selfie in a chic strapless grey dress, adorned with a cape, from clothing brand Asava.

The star teamed her look with white leather pumps from Stuart Weitzman and a BVLGARI watch, styling her raven tresses into a sophisticated half-up half-down look.

Other glamorous snaps in the carousel showed the star glamorously posing in what looked like a luxurious waiting room and a private car.

‘So deeply honored to be a part of this great moment,’ Lisa wrote in a post to more than 101 million followers on Instagram.

‘I would have never imagined standing here receiving an Honorary MBE so thank you and will forever cherish this moment.’

Over the summer, Lisa and Blackpink made history at BST Hyde Park by becoming the first Korean band to headline a major UK music festival.

The girl group closed out the second weekend of the annual event in London to a sold-out crowd of 65,000 fans.

Opening to screams and pink fireworks shooting up from the stage, the girls launched into the Pink Venom before performing 16 more songs and having three outfit changes. 

Introducing themselves to their young crowd, they performed a mix of K-Pop favourites including Kick It, Pretty Savage, How You Like That, and Shut Down. 

Even their first ever single, Whistle – the one that made them famous – was among the setlist. 

The roaring audience included Hugh Grant who revealed himself as a new fan of Blackpink after taking his daughter. 

Taking to X, the A-lister in July wrote: ‘Very grateful to three eleven year olds for taking me to see @BLACKPINK yesterday. Am rabid Blink now. Slept with my heart hammer.’

‘Blink’ is the name given to fans of the K Pop group and the hammer is Blackpink’s official concert glow stick, known as Hammer Bong.

As well as their combined group success, Lisa has also found immense musical success in her own right.

After she came out with solo hit Money in 2021, it became the first album and song by a K-pop solo artist to reach one billion streams on Spotify, respectively.

And in October, Pinkvilla reported that she became the first ever K-pop soloist to get two 14 million-like music videos on YouTube.

Last year she was also inducted into the Asian Hall of Fame for her work as a ‘Cultural Icon’. 

Over the Christmas period, she released a cover of Britney Spears’ My Only Wish – with the YouTube video racking up more than 10 million views in just a couple of months. 

Aside from Lisa’s professional successes, she has also recently been romantically linked to LVMH heir Frederic Arnault.

The pair sparked a flurry of dating rumours after they were spotted giggling together at an event in Venice this summer – prompting a furious investigation by amateur internet detectives who have aired even more evidence of a budding romance between the pair. 

Speculation about a relationship between the pair began when photos emerged of the alleged couple enjoying a laugh at the Bulgari Mediterranea High Jewelry event in Venice back in May, a moment that quickly sent fans on the hunt for more evidence of a blossoming romance.

This unearthed another photo of the pair sitting together at an airport lounge in Los Angeles as well as sightings in Paris and at multiple fashion events – while others began analyzing Lisa’s Instagram, insisting that her posts revealed a slew of clues hinting at a romance between the 26-year-old pop princess and the billionaire luxury fashion heir. 

Frederic, 28, is the son of the richest man in the world, Bernard Arnault. The patriarch is the chairman and CEO of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, and he and his family are worth about $212 billion, according to Forbes.

It is not clear when the pair first met, but Lisa has previously worked alongside brands that are part of the LVMH group.

She was Celine’s global ambassador for three years and collaborated with Bulgari on a limited-edition watch in 2023.

In November 2022, Frederic attended one of Blackpink’s concerts at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles before posting a snap alongside the band members.

He and Lisa were then spotted giggling together at the Bulgari Mediterranean High Jewelry Event in Venice back in May as well as hanging out in Paris when the K-Pop star was on the group’s world tour.

Another photo also surfaced of the two at a private airport lounge in Los Angeles, California.

Neither Lisa nor Frederic have confirmed the status of their relationship.

LAS VEGAS – The NFL has a returning champion for the first time in 19 years. The Kansas City Chiefs, coming off a third Super Bowl victory in five seasons, cemented their status as the league's modern dynasty with a 25-22 overtime win against the San Francisco 49ers Sunday at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

This one, the same as the last two for Kansas City and its superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes, came with an electrifying second-half comeback — and this time with some overtime heroics.

Jake Moody's 27-yard field goal on the first possession of overtime put the 49ers ahead 22-19, but the Chiefs responded with a 13-yard, 75-yard drive and won it on a 3-yard touchdown pass from Mahomes to Mecole Hardman .

It was just the latest must-have move for Kansas City, a team that has built a reputation behind Mahomes for being most dangerous when they hold the ball last. The Chiefs trailed 19-16 with less than two minutes left in the fourth quarter when they marched 75 yards in 11 plays and Harrison Butker kicked a 29-yard field goal. The key play on the drive came on a third-and-7 with 16 seconds left, when Mahomes hit Travis Kelce on a crosser for a 22-yard gain that set the Chiefs up for the easy kick.

It is the fourth Super Bowl victory for the Chiefs franchise and the third for the team under coach Andy Reid, who is tied for third all-time with Bill Walsh and Joe Gibbs. Only Bill Belichick (six) and Chuck Noll (four) have more.

“Number three is a big number in terms of dynasties,” Kelce said this week, adding that he wanted to win this Super Bowl more than the previous three he had played in.
