GARETH SOUTHGATE has broken his silence on speculation linking him with Manchester United.

The England boss, 53, has been mooted as a potential successor to Erik ten Hag should the Red Devils boss get the chance this summer.

When asked about a possible move to Old Trafford, Southgate insisted his focus is solely on Euro 2024.

He said: ‘I’m definitely not going to talk to anyone else.

“I’ve never done that, I’ve been working for eight years and would never enjoy talking to anyone else while I have a job, so I don’t know if that answers your question.

“My focus is on the European Championships. If we had signed a contract here before, everyone would say: ‘Why are you signing a contract before the European Championship where you have to prove yourself?

“From my point of view there are two things. First of all, I’m the manager of England and I really only have one job: to try to deliver a European Championship.

“Obviously I have two important games this week.

“And the second thing is that Manchester United has a manager.

“I always find it completely disrespectful when there is speculation about a possible manager.

“I am chairman of the LMA, so I don’t have time for that kind of thing.”

According to Air sportsMan Utd have not yet made a decision on Ten Hag’s future.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s plans for Manchester United’s stadium, Old Trafford, could provide new ground for the cost of renovating the old ground

They add that the Red Devils continue to make plans for next season with the Dutchman at the helm.

Manchester City defender John Stones was asked whether he would prefer Southgate to stay in England rather than move to rivals Manchester United.

Stones said: “Personally I want him here, but it would be disrespectful to talk to a manager about a team if, in my view, it comes out of nowhere.”

Shapeshifting is one of the coolest powers/abilities ever invented. Writers of comics, novels, TV and movies have come up with creative ways for one person to look exactly like another. From mutant powers to aliens, there has been a veritable cornucopia of changelings, duplicators, and polymorphism in the destruction of fiction.

These creatures appear as people you know: your boss, girlfriend or brother. They can manipulate us with the greatest of ease. Some can appear as inanimate objects to spy on and expose our darkest secrets. Shape-changers are not to be underestimated and can be anywhere, anyone or anything. They could be right under your nose, and you would never know it. In hopes of introducing audiences to these devious creatures, here is a list of fiction’s ten best shapeshifters.

10 Beastboy: DC Comics

Beast Boy has been a constant in Teen Titan’s runs for decades. Beast Boy is the backbone of DC’s second largest team in comics, cartoons and live-action TV. Also known as Changeling in the 1980s, he originally appeared in Doom Patrol #99 in 1965. Over the years, his origins have changed slightly more than once.

That said, he invariably gains the ability to transform into any animal he sees. However, he has green skin, hair, fur, scales, feathers and other animal parts. It is always green and so easy to stand out from the crowd. Although Beast Boy has had emotional issues with his uniqueness, he is generally quite content with who and what he is at any given time. In recent years he has been able to transform into extinct animals (dinosaurs), mythical creatures (phoenix, dragon) and even animals from different planets. When he changes, it only lasts a few seconds. It doesn’t matter how big or small; there is no being he cannot imitate.[1]

9 Clayface: DC Comics

Clayface is the alias used by several Gotham City villains, starting with Basil Karlo in 1940. Nearly all of them possess the ability to shapeshift. The most popular version of the character was the Matthew Hagen version, which appeared in Batman: The Animated Series and reigned during The Golden Age of Comics. Hagen was an actor with sociopathic ambition who stumbled upon a substance that turned the molecular structure of his body into a clay-like material.

However, all the Clayfaces were confronted by the vigilante, Batman. Often appearing as someone Batman was just talking to, he would trick the Dark Knight into dangerous situations to gain the upper hand and further his diabolical and often corny plot. His clay-like body allows him to change his shape and size, as well as mimic the appearance and voices of other people. He can also recover from virtually any injury and absorb other materials to improve his body’s strength and durability. Clayface’s shape-shifting powers are not limited to his physical appearance; he can also change his internal organs and chemical composition to resist toxins and diseases.[2]

8 T-1000: Terminator 2: Judgment Day

The terminator series is one of the most successful and beloved science fiction film series of all time. Fans had to wait seven years for the first sequel, but when it hit theaters it was hugely and explosively popular. In Terminator 2, the T-1000 is made of liquid metal. The T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) explains that the T-1000 is a more advanced Terminator, composed entirely of a ‘mimetic polyalloy’, making it capable of rapid shape changes, near-perfect mimicry, and damage repair.

There is a popular meme based on the T-1000’s ability to appear and sound like everyone it encounters, but which shows the machine’s inability to know what its victims know. In addition to transforming into other people, the robot’s ability to switch between solid and liquid form allowed it to pass almost any obstacle, including metal bars, making for some iconic and scary scenes. The T-1000 was one of the scariest shapeshifters ever![3]

7 Count Dracula: Bram Stroker’s Novel and Other Stories

Everyone’s favorite vampire can transform into a variety of forms other than humanoids. Dracula can change shape at will and can grow and become small, with his signature forms in the novel being those of a bat, a wolf, a large dog, and a mist or mist. It can travel within its rays as elemental dust when the moonlight shines. He can pass through small cracks or crevices while retaining his human form or in the form of a vapor, described by Van Helsing as the ability to slip through a hair’s breadth of a grave door or coffin.

“Count Dracula is not just an undead vampire looking for fresh blood. His character is remarkably complex, partly due to his shape-shifting abilities. It is difficult to calculate the number of animals in which Dracula moves. Yet his abilities seem endless and ingeniously elusive.[4]

6 Skrulls: Marvel Comics

The Skrulls are an alien race directly related to Captain Marvel’s storyline in the Marvel Universe. The Skrulls are a technologically advanced race of reptilian humanoids native to the destroyed planet Skrullos. They are notable for their ability to shapeshift, allowing them to replicate other life forms and seamlessly infiltrate planets without suspicion.

The Skrulls have made their way onto the big and small screens in recent years. In Captain Marvel, they appear as the sworn enemies of the Kree. This similar alien race had brainwashed Carol Danvers and eventually led her to become the famous superhero. More recently, in Secret WarsTalos (a Skrull) is a key figure who has worked closely with Nick Fury for decades. The miniseries also marked Emilia Clarke’s foray into the MCU as Talos’ daughter, G’iah, a talented shape-shifting Skrull agent.[5]

5 Professor McGonagall: Harry Potter Series

The Harry Potter book and film series were enormously successful. Full of magic, from spells to creatures, there was no end to the fantastic. More than a few characters would transition from one form to another. This magical universe offers several ways to achieve this. Minerva McGonagall is a master of transfiguration. Her ability to transform from human to animal is so advanced that she can do it as casually as putting on a coat.

Although shapeshifting is quite common in the Wizarding World, Professor McGonagall is known as an Animagus, a witch or wizard who can transform into an animal at any time. She prefers cats, but can transform into many different animals if necessary. She used her skills during the first Wizarding War to greatly aid the Ministry of Magic’s resistance by spying on Death Eaters and providing the Aurors with crucial information about their activities. McGonagall became Deputy Headmistress and Headmistress of Hogwarts at the same time.[6]

4 The Evil Queen: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

From one of the most famous stories of all time, based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, comes the Evil Queen, who has appeared in films, TV shows and literature for over 200 years. While shapeshifting is not her favorite activity, she has been known to do it. Whether she casts a spell or concocts a potion to do so depends on the specific version of the story; either way, she uses the power to perfection.

In the classic story, she appears to Snow White as an older woman who offers the young woman an apple. Of course, the apple is poisoned and Snow White falls into a deep coma. In There was oncethe character uses the ability via glamor and transfiguration spells, depending on the episode and situation.

She has appeared as different and entirely new characters, such as the old woman. The Evil Queen is widely regarded as one of the most iconic and menacing villains in film history and was once named the 10th greatest movie villain of all time by the American Film Institute.[7]

3 Odo: Star Trek

Constable Odo out Star Trek: Deep Space Nine was a member of an alien race known as the Founders. The Founders are natural shapeshifters or ‘changelings’. Ironically, most Founders are better shapeshifters than Odo, but his natural detective instincts and shapeshifting abilities make him formidable. He often keeps his enemy Quark, a known criminal, at bay by appearing as a piece of furniture and the like during illegal meetings and transactions.

Odo grew up among the ‘solids’ and did not discover his people or where he came from until middle age. When it is discovered that the Founders are pursuing violent expansion of their empire, Odo is forced to take sides, siding with the Federation, Starfleet, and Bajor. He’s become a better shapeshifter over the years, but the one thing he’s never mastered is the human face. Odo helped defeat the Founders’ Dominion, but eventually returned to his people to teach them about the “solids” in hopes of preventing another war.[8]

2 Mysticism: Marvel Comics

Mystique first appeared in Ms. Marvel #16 (April 1978). She is a member of a subspecies of humanity known as mutants who was born with superhuman abilities. She is a shapeshifter who can mimic the appearance and voice of any person with pinpoint precision. Rebecca Romijn and Jennifer Lawrence have portrayed her on screen.

She often works closely with the leader of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Magneto. Whoever Mystique works for and whatever the position, more often than not Mystique works to further the Mutant agenda, through the proper channels or otherwise. She learned to use her shapeshifting power at a very young age, as there is no evidence known to the public or government that Raven Darkholme ever looked different from a normal human. Mystique claims to be Nightcrawler’s mother.[9]

1 Plastic Man: DC Comics

Plastic Man is easily the most underrated character in the entire DC Universe. He can be anything or anyone at any time and is completely unkillable. It can shrink to a few inches tall or become a titan the size of a skyscraper. He can contort his body in ways impossible for ordinary humans, such as lying completely flat to slip under a door, using his fingers to pick conventional locks, compressing himself into a ball to ricochet off things, and blow up his body. He can also use it to disguise himself by changing the shape of his face and body.

Due to his liquid state, Plastic Man can open holes in his body and turn himself into objects with mobile parts. He is invulnerable, immune to telepathic attacks and immortal. He is a prankster and likes to disguise himself as household items and scare his colleagues when inanimate objects come to life.[10]

A SWISH mansion worth £3.5 million in Cheshire’s Golden Triangle is up for grabs as part of a new prize draw raising money for the charity named in honor of inspiring cancer campaigner Deborah James.

For just £10, one lucky winner will win the spectacular Omaze Million Pound House Draw, along with £100,000 in cash.

The eventual winner will receive the keys to a beautiful five-bedroom home in Prestbury, one of the most exclusive areas in the country.

But the fantastic draw is also aimed at raising £1 million for the Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK, which has been set up to continue the work of bowel cancer sufferer and campaigner Deborah.

The mother-of-two and journalist was diagnosed with incurable bowel cancer in 2016 and subsequently presented the You, Me and the Big C podcast on BBC Radio 5 Live about her struggles with her disease, raising awareness of the disease.

Deborah sadly passed away in June 2022 at the age of just 40, but the charity lives on in her name.

Her mother, Heather James, said of the partnership: “Deborah’s awareness and fundraising made a huge difference to so many people’s lives.

“Through this partnership with Omaze, we hope to raise more money for the groundbreaking cancer research she was so passionate about and make a difference to the lives of many more people.”

The Omaze Million Pound House Draw in Cheshire is the company’s 25th house draw and returns to the site where the very first Omaze house was given away in 2020.

The property is mortgage free and all stamp duty and legal costs are covered.

The winner will also receive £100,000 in cash and can decide to live in the house, rent it out for additional income or sell it to become a cash multi-millionaire.

If the winner decides to rent it out, local agents estimate the property could reach a long-term rental value of £20,000 per month.

The house is located in Cheshire’s Golden Triangle, between Wilmslow, Alderley Edge and Prestbury – famous for being the home of football stars and celebrities.

And this prime level property has been carefully designed to provide a perfect blend of traditional and contemporary style.

It contains a mix of brick, sandstone details and wooden cladding.

The impressive 7,000 m² new build property is surrounded by manicured grounds, including south-facing gardens to the rear and an enclosed private driveway with ample parking.

The house has a hall with a gallery and a characteristic staircase.

Large windows not only provide beautiful views, but also fill the house with natural light, creating a light and airy atmosphere inside, in addition to the high ceilings and impressive room proportions.

The main reception rooms have French doors giving access to the gardens and terrace, which receives light all day with a south-facing aspect.

The heart of the house is the spacious open kitchen, living and dining room.

The custom-made handmade kitchen is equipped with various integrated Miele appliances, a coffee station, a large central island and a walk-in pantry with French doors to the rear terrace.

The main living room has several French doors that also open onto the backyard.

The ground floor also has a cinema room, a study with beautiful views over the front of the house and a home gym complete with shower room.

There is home audio and underfloor heating on the entire ground floor.

The first floor features five generous bedrooms, three of which have en-suite bathrooms with built-in dressing areas.

The master bedroom suite has a large walk-in dressing room, a beautifully appointed bathroom with a walk-in rain shower, tiled bath and a large hidden backlit television.

The largest bedroom even has its own night kitchen – with built-in refrigerator – and windows overlooking the backyard.

The remaining two bedrooms both have built-in wardrobes and share the family bathroom.

Outside there is a double garage with electric doors and a separate suite above with its own entrance and use of the ground floor shower room.

To the front of the property there are box hedges and plantings with additional lawns and large south facing gardens to the rear with lawns, mature hedges, plant borders and a large patio spanning the full width of the house with external speakers, ideal for entertaining and al fresco dining.

The sought after village of Prestbury is a short walk from the property and is renowned for its range of luxury shops, eateries and schools including the new Kings School Macclesfield, along with a tennis club, park and train station giving easy access to Manchester and London.

The Omaze Million Pound House Draw, Cheshire, will not only make the lucky top prize winner a multi-millionaire, but will also raise money for the Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK.

Established to continue the incredible legacy of Dame Deborah James, who was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2016 at the age of 35 and who went on to become a tireless campaigner and fundraiser.

Around 44,100 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer in Britain every year – making it the fourth most common cancer in Britain and the second most common cause of death from cancer.

The Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK aims to give more people more time with the people they love by funding ground-breaking research and raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of cancer.

Mum Heather, 66, told The Sun: “I’m so excited – it’s guaranteed £1 million for Deborah’s Bowelbabe Fund.

“That’s an awful lot of money. I am very aware that we will never be able to generate the level of fundraising that Deborah did in the weeks before she died, so something like this is incredible.

“As a family, we are so proud of Deborah’s legacy, and it is an honor to continue what she started.

“She would be so excited if an Omaze house was dedicated to her Fund, she loved it and always entered the draws.

‘Her brother Ben thinks it’s a shame that he can’t win this house, he has a standing order every month.

“It’s such a beautiful home and it will be a wonderful opportunity for a family to enjoy new beginnings and new memories together.

“And that fits so well with the Bowelbabe Fund: more money is raised to finance more research to help save more lives.

“The money raised will ensure families like ours have the opportunity to make new memories with their loved ones.”

Heather highlighted her daughter’s fundraising spirit, adding: “I can just hear her now, I know she would say ‘let’s go ahead and get it to £3 million’.

“So I can’t help it… wouldn’t it be great if we could reach at least £2 million.”

Dame Deborah James died in June 2022 at the age of 40, five and a half years after she was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer.

At the time, the mother-of-two shared her experiences of living with incurable cancer with millions of people, giving a candid account in her Sun column Things Cancer Made Me Say.

She then launched the You, Me & The Big C podcast on the BBC and was a regular on Lorraine’s sofa, as well as writing two self-help books.

With only days to live in May 2022, Dame Debs launched her Bowelbabe Fund to fund vital research “to give one last f*** you to cancer, and give more Deborahs more time”.

The inspirational campaigner captured the hearts of the nation and smashed her £250,000 target in one day.

She was stunned when donations gained momentum, reaching £1 million within days.

When Debs died on June 28, the total amount was almost £7 million – more than her wildest dreams.

Knowing that one of the 40-year-old’s dying wishes was for it to reach £10 million, The Sun called on readers to donate in her memory.

Last April, her proud husband Sebastian revealed that the Fund had reached a whopping £11.3 million – and has since risen to £12.6 million.

In footage filmed just before she passed away, Dame Debs thanked the more than 330,000 people who donated.

“Every cent counts. I can’t thank you enough for your support.

“You’re amazing,” she said.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Seb revealed that the first £4 million would go towards funding five different projects in partnership with Cancer Research UK, The Institute of Cancer Research, The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and Bowel Cancer UK – all charities near Dame. The heart of Debs.

And earlier this month it was announced that a further £5 million will be spent to fund a new study that will help shed light on an alarming rise in bowel cancer rates among the over-50s.

This is the second time that Cancer Research UK has partnered with Omaze.

The first partnership in 2021 has raised £500,000 for the charity’s vital work, creating a world where everyone can live a longer, better life, free from the fear of cancer.

Omaze has guaranteed a minimum donation of £1 million from this partnership.

James Oakes, Chief International Officer at Omaze, said: “We are really excited to be back where it all started for our 25th home in beautiful Cheshire – and to be working with Cancer Research UK for the second time to support the Bowelbabe Fund to support Cancer Research UK.

“By offering this beautiful property in Cheshire, along with £100,000 in cash, Omaze is giving people the chance to win life-changing prizes that can help them get a mortgage or rent a free life.

“In addition to raising money for charities, Omaze introduces them to new audiences that they would not otherwise reach.

“We are extremely proud that the Omaze community has already raised more than £34 million for charities across the UK.”

In mid-February, a remarkably early, record-breaking heat wave hit the southern part of West Africa. Climate change made this extreme heat ten times more likely, according to a new analysis by an international team of scientists. It also pushed the heat index about four degrees Celsius higher than it would have been without the extra greenhouse gases in the atmosphere from burning fossil fuels.

Officials saw the unusual temperatures coming and national weather agencies in Ghana and Nigeria warned the public. The Africa Cup of Nations football tournament took place in Ivory Coast during the heat wave and players had to take extra breaks during the matches to hydrate.

What was particularly striking about this heat wave was the onset of high temperatures so early in the year, when people had less time to adapt to rising temperatures. “Many, many people would not have acclimatized to the heat,” said Wasiu Adeniyi Ibrahim, head of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency’s central forecast office and author of the study.

During the heat wave, humidity increased the danger. During the worst of the event, temperatures rose above 40 degrees Celsius, or 104 degrees Fahrenheit. But the high humidity made the air feel even hotter. The heat index, which measures the combined effect of heat and humidity on the human body, rose to about 50 degrees Celsius or 122 degrees Fahrenheit.

Researchers have limited data on how this heat has affected people more broadly in West Africa, and whether it has led to many hospitalizations and deaths. But there is reason to believe there may be widespread damage, said Maja Vahlberg, a risk advisor at the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Center and one of the authors of the analysis.

Many residents of the region do not have adequate access to water, energy and sanitation. That means that during heat waves, people have “very limited options for individual coping strategies, such as using air conditioning and drinking or showering more often,” Ms. Vahlberg said. About half of the region’s urban population lives in informal housing, including houses built with sheet steel, which retains heat.

The elderly, people with existing illnesses and outdoor workers are especially vulnerable to extreme heat.

The analysis, conducted by a group known as World Weather Attribution, took longer than similar studies the group’s scientists have conducted on other extreme weather events. West Africa has less data from weather stations than other parts of the world, making studies linking weather there to climate change more difficult to conduct. But last month’s extreme heat was an early sign, before spring had even started, of what would happen this summer in this region and across the Northern Hemisphere.

Jesse Baird’s housemates are moving out of the Sydney rental home where he and his friend were allegedly murdered by an ex-cop and left under a tarpaulin in the property’s courtyard overnight.

Beau Lamarre-Condon allegedly used his police-issue Glock pistol to shoot the former Channel Ten presenter and his new friend Luke Davies three times on the Paddington terrace on February 19.

Mr Baird’s housemates arrived home later that evening to find the house in disarray and went to bed, unaware that the couple lay dead in the courtyard.

They rented the three-bedroom terrace in April last year for $1,200 a week, but it is understood they terminated the lease earlier than expected in the wake of the tragedy.

Furniture and household items – including outdoor sofas, towels and armchairs – were dumped on the pavement outside the house on Thursday.

Among the items were a disco ball, a pink heart painted on cardboard and a yellow football placed just inside the gate of the property with a handwritten poem for the deceased couple.

It read: ‘Jesse and Luke, gone like that, forever out of reach. Memories linger as hearts slowly break. Tears fall like rain when grief takes over, the pain of loss is a story often told.”

Among the furnishings were Ikea-style shelves and cabinets, outdoor cushions, two brown swivel armchairs and a box containing a washcloth and towels.

On Thursday morning, the property appeared to no longer be on the market. If it is listed again, the agent will have to tell potential renters or buyers that it was an alleged murder scene.

Detectives allege the killings were a premeditated attack after a months-long campaign of “predatory behavior” against Mr Baird, with whom Lamarre-Condon had a brief “friends with benefits” relationship.

Police say Mr Davies, a Qantas flight attendant, was killed because he happened to be at the Paddington property when Lamarre-Condon – who was a senior officer at the time – turned up.

About 12 hours later he is said to have collected the bodies into a white rental van and taken them to a remote farm in Bungonia, about 180 kilometers south of Sydney.

Among the items left on the footpath was garden furniture (photo). After their death, the couple was said to have been left outside in the courtyard overnight

He is said to have returned to the site to move the bodies to another location in Bungonia, about a 20-minute drive from the original location.

An extensive search was conducted for the couple, but Lamarre-Condon initially did not want to tell police where their bodies were located.

He then spoke with an attorney on February 27, over a week after the alleged murders.

The remains of Mr Baird and Mr Davies were found in surfing bags that afternoon.

In the days after the tragedy, friends and passers-by left bouquets of flowers on Paddington’s terrace.

Sunflowers, roses, dahlias, chrysanthemums and tulips were placed along the iron gates of the building.

Lamarre-Condon was charged with two counts of murder and is currently in the Silverwater Correctional Complex, in Sydney’s west.

He will appear in court at the Downing Center in Sydney on April 23.

  • Last year, Uber Eats delivered 118% more chocolate eggs than chicken eggs
  • Cadbury’s fan favorite has been crowned the most anxiously awaited Easter treat

Ahead of Easter Sunday, Uber Eats have revealed their top ten best-selling Easter Eggs on the app – and the number one sweet treat happens to be a Cadbury fan favourite.

Last year, from April 1 to 9, the online food delivery company announced that more Easter eggs were delivered to UK customers than eggs from chickens, with a remarkable 55,025 chocolate eggs arriving at customers’ doors.

And now the company has announced the ten best-selling egg-shaped chocolate treats of 2023: Cadbury’s Mini Eggs won the gold medal as national favorite.

On Easter Sunday 2023, Uber Eats delivered a whopping 118% more Easter eggs compared to chicken eggs – which flew into Uber Eats baskets at a record 304 eggs per hour (Photo: Getty)

Uber Eats’ top ten most ordered Easter eggs:

1. Cadbury Mini Egg Bag 80g

2. Milkybar White Chocolate Mini Egg Sharing Bag 80g

3. Maltesers Milk Chocolate Medium Easter Egg 127g

4. Cadbury Creme egg 5 pieces, 200 g

5. Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons Easter Egg Box 98 g

6. Smarties Medium Egg 119 g

7. Kinder Surprise Easter Egg 100g

8. Maltesers Teasers Milk Chocolate Large Easter Egg 220g

9. Cadbury Dairy Milk Easter Eggs and Caramel Bars 245g

10. Terry’s Chocolate Orange Mini Eggs 80g

This tasty treat reigned supreme, with Milkybar White Chocolate Mini Eggs following close behind.

Maltesers’ Easter Egg came third as the most ordered treat, followed by Cadbury’s Creme Egg and Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Buttons Easter Egg in fourth and fifth place.

Rounding out the rest of Britain’s favorite Easter treats are: Smarties Egg, Kinder Surprise Egg, Maltesers Teasers, Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg & Caramel Bars and Terry’s Chocolate Orange Mini Eggs.

Uber Eats has also crowned Londoners as the country’s biggest Easter egg lovers, ordering a whopping 14,353 Easter eggs between April 1 and 9.

Birmingham and Manchester followed closely, because the British in these cities cannot resist the sweet temptation.

Surprisingly, Scotland took a less chocolatey route, with just 2,272 Easter eggs knocking on doors in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen.

This month isn’t all about Easter eggs and other confectionery creations, though; 2,166 hot cross buns also flew straight into people’s Easter baskets as the country fully embraced the range of Easter treats available to order to your home.

Alex Troughton, Director of Grocery and Retail at Uber Eats said: ‘Easter eggs always become one of the most popular items on the app during the Easter period.’

He added: ‘We saw huge growth in the number of customers ordering Easter eggs and seasonal items through the app in 2023, and we are already seeing higher numbers this year, ahead of the Easter weekend.’

Meanwhile, a tearoom is selling the most expensive Swiss chocolate Easter egg in Britain for a whopping £375.

Betty’s Cafe Tea Rooms, based in chic Harrogate, North Yorkshire, sells luxury chocolate made to order by the celebrity-popular company.

Comedian Jason Manford and TV star Giovanna Fletcher – wife of McFly star Tom – are fans of the popular cafe.

Called ‘Betty’s Grande Easter Egg’, it weighs a whopping 5.4 kg and is 55 cm high. It contains 576 calories per 100 g – this is a total of 31,104 calories.

A digital artist has used AI to create an image of what Brits think a stereotypical ‘investor’ would look like.

The image shows the man in a sharp, well-fitting suit and a Rolex watch.

1

A digital artist created an image of what the British think a stereotypical investor would look like

It follows research among 2,000 adults, which found that four in ten believe investing is only for ‘rich people’.

Based on the poll, the stereotypical investor is a man in his early 40s, most likely eating an expensive-looking steak and salad in a cozy home office.

Other items in their possession include a briefcase, several smartphones and expensive cufflinks.

While one in six imagined themselves wearing a Bluetooth headset so they could continue making hands-free calls.

The research, commissioned by Virgin Money to support their ambition to help investors grow their money as easily as possible, challenges stereotypical perceptions of what investors are.

It found that 32% believe they would become too expensive if they made any meaningful money from their own investments.

A quarter are simply unsure whether investing is affordable, with the average adult thinking you need to invest at least £1,600 to try it.

But 32% admit they don’t have a good understanding of how it all works, while a third don’t know where to start.

And 68% find investing too complicated for them and involving too much unnecessary jargon.

Jonathan Byrne, CEO of Virgin Money Investments, said: “The investing landscape has changed dramatically in recent years, becoming more accessible and popular with new audiences, particularly young adults.

“This research shows that many people still think investing is beyond their reach and that it requires large sums of money to get started, but that’s simply not true.

“In fact, it becomes significantly easier to do this – investing can be as easy as opening a savings account.”

The survey found that 35% are confident in their investment assets, believing that if they invested today they would generate returns.

Half (49%) would be more likely to try investing if they could do so with smaller sums of money, with an average of £166 per month considered a comfortable amount.

Shares, shares and ISAs were the most familiar investment methods for respondents, alongside bonds and cryptocurrencies.

While research via OnePoll shows that investing in a fund is seen as a good method by 46%.

The findings follow a study published last year which found that younger age groups have started investing more.

The FCA data shows that between 2020 and 2022 there is a 6% increase among 18 to 24 and 25 to 34 year olds and a 5% increase among 35 to 44 year olds.

Jonathan Byrne of Virgin Money Investments, which allows people to invest from just £25 a month in a Stocks and Shares ISA, investment account or a pension, added: “Investing can be for everyone, and we believe it is one of the best ways is to help people grow their money.

“It’s easy to think this is just for the rich, but that’s not the case anymore. The fact that more women and younger generations are getting involved in investing is a positive sign.

“We want to challenge the investor stereotype for good and show that investing is a great option for many people – you certainly don’t need a fancy suit, Rolex or home office to make your money work harder. That’s why we’ve made investing simple, without jargon, without waffling – just three no-nonsense options.”

Scott McTominay put the Red Devils ahead but Alexis Mac Allister and Mo Salah put the visitors ahead before half-time – with both goals infuriating Roy Keane.

Substitute Antony struck at the end of normal time to send extra time, only for Harvey Elliott’s deflected effort to restore Liverpool’s lead.

Marcus Rashford struck late, seemingly sending penalties, but there was yet to be a late, dramatic twist.

Another substitute, Amad Diallo, scored in the final seconds after a counter-attack to win the score 4-3.

However, Amad’s party was cut short after he took off his shirt and was sent away after receiving his second booking.

As Ten Hag chased the match in normal time, he first introduced Antony and Harry Maguire from the bench, and both would have a huge impact.

Christian Eriksen replaced Kobbie Mainoo in midfield before the Dutchman became a little more enthusiastic when centre-back Raphael Varane made way with just a few minutes to go and match-winner Diallo took his place.

However, after Antony’s late equalizer which forced Ten Hag into a reshuffle in extra time, but before any major changes were made, they once again found themselves behind through Elliott.

At the break of the extra thirty minutes, Ten Hag threw one last dice roll in an attempt to put the Reds on the back foot.

Midfielder Mason Mount came on for defender Victor Lindelof, which resulted in captain Bruno Fernandes dropping back to finish the match at centre-half, as the ambitious change paid off for United.

Some may think it was luck, but others were quick to praise Ten Hag’s tactics.

One fan wrote on

“Fernandes in the center back.

“All the subs were the right ones to make.

“He went all in to win by trading attackers for defenders.

“Antony finished as left back.

“He means business.”

Another agreed, writing: “Ten witches tactics on the spot.”

A third said: “What fair play in the FA Cup for Liverpool but my god ten witch tactics were genius.”

A fellow fan said: “This is by far Erik Ten Hag’s best game as Manchester United boss.”

While a fifth said: “Fair play to Ten Hag, he got those substitutions in the right place today.

“I know we have been sidelined for a long time and there are some recurring problems, but we persevered and we got a result.

“Both teams had chances to win but we took ours and Liverpool didn’t take enough of theirs.”

There are basically four eras of fashion, starting in your teens with “Love It, Don’t Care What It Looks Like On Me.”

The second era is ‘I love it, but should I?’ During this phase you will discover whether you are more in the ‘Must Look On Trend’ or the ‘Just Want To Look Beautiful’ camp. It’s the longest fashion phase and you bend more one way than the other until you eventually find the place where you feel most comfortable.

The third era is ‘Does my butt look big?’ It’s not that you’ve never thought about whether your butt looks big before, but now your first consideration is whether everything else looks big too and whether my legs look shorter. You still care a lot about fashion, but more about how you look.

And finally, there is the fourth phase – the one we are in now – where the overriding priority does not seem to be our age. At this stage you are still fashion conscious, body conscious, gorgeous and prone to crazy purchases, but it all starts with trying not to look as old as we are or older.

And ultimately, the secret to not looking older lies not so much in buying certain clothes and accessories, but in learning about the Avoidable Aging Traps (AAT) and making sure you don’t fall into them.

There are things you take for granted that you have to reconsider in your fifties, like your bra size. There are items of clothing you own that seem harmless and useful that may need to be thrown away, precisely because aging is harmless and useful. And there are safe solutions that you should put on the Wear Less list: navy blue tailoring, believe it or not.

The good news is that solving most aging traps doesn’t cost money…

Still wears black

You may have seen the photo of Helen Mirren in a pink dress with a triangular keyhole without any cleavage (check mark).

A black dress would have been predictable, and an AAT. A strong color and a bold cut trumped the subtle options and her hair was suitably sleek (check mark); her earrings were the size of seagull eggs (checkmark) and her lipstick was a shade of the same pink (checkmark).

Green cardigan, £89, marksandspencer.com

She looked 78, 58. Personally, I couldn’t tell you what the women I had dinner with last night were wearing (blackish, darkish clothes), apart from a septuagenarian in a pink cardigan – who looked so dazzling in the midst of people who are young enough to be her children.

I followed suit and bought an M&S cardigan in green.

Being too tasteful

A gray or navy jacket with a white shirt and straight jeans will look great on your 20-something daughter, but it might make you look a little disappointing.

(Stealth wealth clothing is not the older woman’s friend, not even the rich.) Wear a red striped shirt instead; tie a patterned silk square at your throat. If you have a nice fur tie, wear it now with tailoring, ditto snake print or leopard accessories.

Wear your wider jeans. Get out your bigger earrings. And forget beautiful prints: go for cool or abstract or go home.

Maxi dress, £195, kitristudio.com

Maxi dress, £195, kitristudio.com

A larger scale floral print in bright colors (not faded pastels), strong stripes and louder spots is the secret to avoiding looking too old for your pretty dress, while a pop of color near your face will do more for your skin than any anti-effect. -aging cream.

Skip a hair salon

The two most common aging traps are a) overly tired hair and b) overly colored hair.

Admittedly, this is a tricky area, but shiny, well-dyed and well-groomed hair is the basis for looking good for your age and you have to spend about 80 percent more time on it than twenty years ago.

The natural look you wore in your thirties is messy in your fifties and looks tired in your sixties. An Elnett blow dry is just as old fashioned, but a slightly messy blow dry… bingo!

And try some Philip Kingsley Finishing Touch Polishing Serum (£12, marksandspencer.com) for last-minute shine.

Sleeveless (unless you have the arms)

You will often come across a beautiful fit and flare dress, which happens to be sleeveless, and you might even try it on, hoping for a miracle, or think about wearing it with a cardigan, but stop there!

If you’re not willing to show your arms, don’t buy a sleeveless one and (sorry to bludgeon this house) unsuitable arms are at the top of the AAT list.

If you have great arms, this counts as an exceptional trait for your age and you should get them out whenever you can.

See Monica Lewinsky in the Reformation’s new red two-part campaign. Would it have had such an impact with sleeves, or on a younger woman? Absolutely not on both counts.

Fit-it underwear

Refresh your underwear drawer or – in other words – sort your VPL (Visible Pants Line) and your VBB (Visible Bra Bulge). VBB is all about a too tight fit.

Try on bras where you can be measured (Marks & Spencer).

VPL is easily solved by replacing saggy cotton with techno fabric (the secret is not bigger pants, but a seamless, snug fit).

Underwear 3pk, £16, marksandspencer.com

I swear by Marks & Spencer’s Body range of high-waisted Flexifit Modal shorts (£16 for a pack of three, marksandspencer.com) for what it’s worth.

Everyone needs to rethink their underwear size after 50 years, not just because a good fit makes all your clothes look better, but because a poor fit terribly aging. A bad bra can make you look like a sack of potatoes; a good bra improves your posture.

Don’t wear sunglasses

The big mystery is why – when sunglasses can cover your puffy morning eyes, add a touch of movie star glamour, are the one designer item we can only just afford and then wear for nine months of the year – women don’t take sunglasses more seriously .

Sunglasses are sophisticated, concealing, great value for money and complete your look like a hat once would.

In fact, these days they’re not so much dating as finding new roles. We all have an old pair of sunglasses sitting in a drawer.

As long as they are not shells, take them out and wear them; think all about glamor and never wear them on your head. Aging.

Saving things for the best

Keeping things as best as possible is a classic AAT. From now on you don’t have to wear your best wedding dress to work anymore, but you can remember to get your leopard print coat out of the closet and wear it to death, because a little leopard is a must in every season. age enhancer – and that was so big on the Dior Fall 2024 catwalk.

The same goes for jewelry. Large pearls on earrings or a sturdy necklace are still trendy.

Earrings, £55, puzzle-online.com

Earrings, £55, puzzle-online.com

Nowadays, a sassy earring does a lot more for you than a weakly shiny stud.

And a large brooch is a great way to spice up simple tailoring. Check out Jigsaw’s bold sculptural necklaces and earrings.

Jewelry doesn’t have to be grand, but the time of the delicate gold chain is over and that suits us. Everything delicate disappears at the age of 50 or older.

Cute dress up

A little drummer boy jacket is fine, but not the matching tailored culottes. A hint of ruffle on a collar, but not an all-white Puritan crescent or a giant lace collar. Knowing your cute limit means checking your wardrobe for the following and putting them in the charity shop pile:

  • Bows to everything (a big dramatic bow might work, a nice bow might not)
  • Fine floral prints
  • Peter Pan collars
  • Pearl buttons
  • Decorative vests
  • Short puff sleeves
  • Pedal pushers. They’re back, avoid them.

Not paying attention to shoe trends

The right shoes can be the fashion injection you need.

If you happen to have gold strappy sandals hanging around, they’re just what you need to breathe new life into your old jumpsuit or wear with pants or a midi skirt.

Silver bands also work. And keep wearing your trainers, but for fashion credibility make sure they’re the right ones: Adidas Sambas or Adidas Originals Gazelle (£85, size.co.uk) in mixed colours. Everything but plain white.

Hide your waist

Fashion has become looser and a little space makes the difference between looking modern and looking comfortable and left behind. Say no to tight and yes to definition. Get used to showing a little waist, whether that’s by tucking your shirt (half) into the waistband of pants, or by wearing a fitted ribbed top with a skirt.

Things you need to take to the charity shop now

  • Hook. If you happen to have one, get rid of it.
  • Your ‘nobody’s watching’ jeans. Why not wear the ones that make you look good?
  • Large linen shirts
  • Jersey wrap dresses
  • Slouchy black pants (unless for travel)
  • Small fitted jackets. Keep your larger double-breasted and cropped ones edge-to-edge
  • The black biker jacket. From now on, leather is pale or brown and suede
  • Narrow fit, narrow lapel jackets
  • Boots for tire tracks

AMAD DIALLO’S stunning winner in the final seconds of extra time ended Jurgen Klopp’s hopes of a farewell quadruple in a classic FA Cup quarter-final.

The young Ivory Coast striker scored from Alejandro Garnacho’s breakaway as Erik ten Hag’s side twice came from behind to beat their bitter rivals and book a Wembley semi-final against Coventry.

Diallo was sent off for taking off his shirt as he was already booked, but even that couldn’t take too much of the shine off the greatest moment of the 21-year-old’s young life.

Twice United looked dead and buried but a late Antony equalizer forced the break, then Marcus Rashford canceled out a Harvey Elliott strike in the extra half hour before Diallo scored only his United goal since a move from Atalanta in 2021 .

This was a wildly fluctuating quarter-final: United made a strong start and led through Scott McTominay, then Liverpool struck twice late in the first half through Alexis Mac Aliister and Mo Salah.

Liverpool dominated the second half but lacked ruthlessness, before Antony turned and fired home the equalizer, only for Rashford to miss a chance to finish the match inside 90 minutes.

It was a breathtaking end to an epic last-eight weekend of action, packed with ridiculous drama, amid an extraordinary atmosphere at Old Trafford.

This is always the fiercest rivalry in English football and the presence of 9,000 visiting fans saw a significant increase in volume.

It was a ferocious start from United and their supporters, who operated with a noise rarely heard here in recent years.

Rashford had a shot pushed away by a fully extended Kelleher as United attacked in waves.

Every Liverpool mistake was celebrated as a goal and although Salah had sent a corner volley wide, United were worth their early lead.

A quickly taken free-kick from Bruno Fernandes had released Rashford and left Liverpool short-handed at the back.

Tyson Fury rocks a very daring outfit as Gypsy King attends the big heavyweight FA Cup match between Man Utd and Liverpool

Alejandro Garnacho’s shot was then pushed away by Kelleher, but McTominay grabbed the rebound to thrill Old Trafford.

Robertson had a good chance, but United still had the upper hand.

Kobbie Mainoo beat three Liverpool defenders in a foot strike and fed Rashford, who hit back for McTominay, but the midfielder’s shot was blocked by Virgil Van Dijk.

But Liverpool often start poorly, often fall behind and rarely stay behind for long.

A late rally from Klopp’s men in the first half turned the tie on its head.

First, Wataru Endo shot on target from a Salah center, after which the Egyptian was flagged for offside.

United fans were pleased when VAR upheld this smallest decision, but were soon stunned by a capitulation that turned a lead into a deficit inside three minutes.

First Jarrell Quansah was allowed to charge forward unchallenged and found Darwin Nunez who set up for Mac Allister to score with a shot that took a big deflection off Mainoo’s boot.

Then, in first-half stoppage time, things got even worse for Ten Hag as United suffered a robbery of their own making.

Fernandes received a pass from Aaron Wan-Bissaka on the edge of his own area but fell under a light challenge from Joe Gomez.

United’s ‘captain’ stayed down, the full-back stopped and appealed for a foul as Liverpool went ahead and scored.

Nunez was released on the left and his shot was pushed away by a flying Onana, but fell to Salah, who took a touch before firing home.

It was a shock end to a promising half for United and nothing Ten Hag said at half-time seemed to make the biggest difference as Liverpool started the second period on top.

Nunez almost beat Onana from the smallest angles at his near post, after which the Uruguayan shot one wide of the near post via a pass from Salah.

As the rain poured down and the Scousers crowed, United looked as if they were drowning.

Onana beat Nunez’s effort and Salah forced a diving save from the United keeper.

Out of desperation, Ten Hag sent for Antony, who quickly shot a shot wide.

There was little sign of an equalizer for United before it arrived in the 87th minute.

Garnacho was blocked in the area and the ball fell to Antony, who shook off Endo, turned and fired low into the far corner.

It was only the Brazilian’s second goal in 30 appearances this season, the first coming against Newport County.

Scott McTominay gave Man Utd an early lead and that started the rollercoaster

Almost immediately, Harvey Elliott hit the inside of the post before United cleared away.

Then, in the final action of stoppage time, Christian Eriksen’s chipped pass allowed Rashford to go clean through – and onside – but the England man somehow shot wide of the far post.

It was a staggering miss, further proof that Rashford is simply not an elite striker.

After Ten Hag went bust with his substitutions, United’s squad was now extremely unbalanced – with three defenders, Fernandes at left-back and Eriksen as the deepest midfielder.

Yet Antony fired narrowly over and Victor Lindelof hit one into the side netting as the hosts found a second wind.

But just before extra-time, Conor tipped Bradley Elliott, whose shot was deflected past Onana by Eriksen.

United rallied again – Maguire shot straight at Kelleher and then, after Nunez’s pass was intercepted, McTominay advanced and slid a pass to Rashford, who this time kept his composure and slotted past the Liverpool keeper.

United then launched a stunning late counter-attack, a two-on-one with Garnacho feeding Diallo, who curled his shot past Kelleher, sparking chaos at the Theater of Dreams.
