Yodha Box Office Collection Day 7 Update

Update of the first week of the Yodha Box Office collection: Yodha has entered its second weekend at the Box Office. The Sidharth Malhotra starrer opened last Friday to just Rs 4.1 crore and collected in the range of Rs 25 crore when it closed its first week at the box office on Thursday. The Dharma Productions film failed to make much of a mark at the Box Office and failed to reach double digits on any day. The highest one-day collection for Yodha was on Sunday when it raised Rs 7 crore net, after which the numbers only fell. On Thursday, the film collected Rs 1-1.85 crore nett, taking its seven-day total to Rs 25.20 crore.

Yodha faces direct competition at the Box office with the already moving ‘Shaitaan‘ And ‘Bastar: The Naxal Story‘. The Adah Sharma starrer posed no threat as it was roundly rejected by the audience. Shaitaan remained the public’s first choice afterwards Yodha’s release.

  • Tuesday: Rs 2.25 crore
  • Wednesday: Rs 2.1 crore
  • Thursday: Rs 1.85 crore (early estimates)
  • Total: Rs 25.20 crore

Yodha is now expected to decline further. The film will once again face a Box Office clash Swantatra Veer Savarkar starting today. The film is helmed by Randeep Hooda and is expected to do good business, sharing screens Yodha in large places. The film may rely heavily on positive word of mouth, but its co-presence will YodhaIt’s difficult to walk to the counter.

Meanwhile, it looks like Sidharth will have to adjust his pipeline and look at his choices for a solid Box Office presence. The actor hasn’t yet proven himself as a legitimate crowd-pleaser and a solid script is needed to back up this effort. What are your thoughts? The private hospital at the centre of a scandal around alleged attempts to access the Princess of Wales’s medical records did not report the suspected breach to the authorities for more than seven days after she was discharged, it is claimed.

Three members of staff at The London Clinic are under investigation over claims of a data breach at the clinic, with the trio believed to have been suspended and facing professional sanctions if proven to have accessed her private medical information.

The alleged breach took place at the clinic after the future Queen was admitted for planned abdominal surgery on January 16, with Kate being discharged 14 days later. She has rarely been seen in public since then, leading to cruel conspiracy theories on social media about her wellbeing and health.

It was claimed one member of staff attempted to view her medical records while she was a patient there.

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is investigating the incident, with reports claiming that part of the probe will look into whether there was a delay in the clinic flagging it them amid claims it took more than a week for a ‘breach report’ to be filed.

Official rules state that any personal data breaches must be reported within 72 hours of their discovery, while data protection rules mean the private hospital could be fined up to £17million if found to have committed wrongdoing, one expert has claimed.

King Charles has also used the clinic in recent months, first for treatment for an enlarged prostate and then after he was diagnosed with cancer. However, his private medical information was not affected by the breach.

Al Russell, the CEO of The London Clinic, has said the allegations are being investigated and there is ‘no place at our hospital for those who intentionally breach the trust of any of our patients’

The ICO says it is investigating the incident as the clinic itself says it will take ‘all appropriate steps’ to investigate the alleged breach.

It is believed the police could probe the allegations, with one government minister claiming the Metropolitan Police have been ‘asked to look at it’, although the force says it is not aware of any referral as of yet.

The CEO of The London Clinic vowed on Wednesday that ‘all appropriate investigatory, regulatory and disciplinary steps will be taken’ as it investigates the data breach claims.

Al Russell, broke his silence yesterday, saying in a statement: ‘Everyone at the London Clinic is acutely aware of our individual, professional, ethical and legal duties with regards to patient confidentiality.

‘We take enormous pride in the outstanding care and discretion we aim to deliver for all our patients that put their trust in us every day.

‘We have systems in place to monitor management of patient information and, in the case of any breach, all appropriate investigatory, regulatory and disciplinary steps will be taken.

‘There is no place at our hospital for those who intentionally breach the trust of any of our patients or colleagues.’

Executives have remained tight-lipped over the nature and extent of the embarrassing breach of private records.

In addition to the alleged breach itself, the ICO is also said to be investigating whether the clinic delayed notifying the watchdog.

Official rules state that any personal data breaches must be reported within 72 hours from their discovery if a risk is posed to a person’s rights or freedoms.

However, reports suggest the ICO did not receive a ‘breach report’ for more than a week after Kate was discharged from the hospital on January 29.

One source told The Guardian that ‘timeliness of reporting’ was part of its ‘ongoing’ probe into the hospital.

A spokesperson for the clinic told ITV News that they would not comment further other than to say ‘all our patients, no matter what their status, deserve total privacy and confidentiality regarding their personal medical information.

The Princess is said to be aware of the allegations, while a spokesperson for Kensington Palace said: ‘This is a matter for the London Clinic.’

The ICO said on Wednesday: ‘We can confirm that we have received a breach report and are assessing the information provided.’

ONe data protection expert claimed that the Waleses could even sue The London Clinic if the breach is proven to have taken place.

Iain Wilson, from Brett Wilson LLP, told The Sun: ‘They’ve obviously got obligations to keep medical records secure through the Data Protection Act.

If it is found they didn’t have sufficient systems in place, for instance, they hadn’t trained staff properly, then they could be fined by the information commission officer.

‘A very large sum, I think up to £17.5million or 4 per cent of an organisation’s annual worldwide turnover and potentially sued by the individuals in question.’

He added that the hospital might have had ‘all the training and systems in place’ and the incident took place through a ‘rotten egg’ which is difficult to guard against.

According to the 2018 Data Protection Act, it is an offence to obtain or disclose personal data ‘without the consent of the controller’.

A spokesperson for the General Medical Council, which is the watchdog for doctors, told the Telegraph: ‘Patients must have confidence that their personal information is protected at all times.

The Princess of Wales - pictured here with William in 2023 - has been maintaining a low profile as she continues recovering from surgery she underwent two months ago

‘Our guidance is clear: we expect doctors to make sure any personal information about patients is effectively protected at all times against improper access, disclosure or loss, and they must not access a patient’s personal information unless they have a legitimate reason to view it.’

Jon Baines, a data protection specialist from the law firm Mishcon de Reya, told ITV News: ‘Any investigation by the ICO is likely to consider whether a criminal offence might have been committed by an individual or individuals.’

‘Section 170 of the Data Protection Act 2018 says that a person commits an offence if they obtain or disclose personal data ‘without the consent of the controller’.

‘Here, the ‘controller’ will be the clinic itself.’

While the allegations are being probed by the ICO, it is also claimed that the police could investigated the situation alongside the watchdog.

A source told The Mirror: ‘The IOC will deal with anything as a criminal matter which could end up in a Magistrate’s Court, but if there were further claims of wrongdoing such as a conspiracy to distribute illegally accessed information, then that could be a matter for the police.’

The Metropolitan Police has said it is not aware of any referral to the force regarding the incident at this time.

However, Health Minister Maria Caulfield said she understood ‘police have been asked to look at it’.

Speaking to Sky News, she said the allegations were ‘pretty serious stuff’.

She said: ‘I say this as someone who’s still on the nursing register, that the rules are very, very clear for all patients. That unless you’re looking after that patient, or they’ve given you their consent, you should not be looking at patients’ notes.

‘So there are rules in place and the Information Commissioner can levy fines, that can be prosecutions, your regulator, so as a nurse my regulator would be the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council), can take enforcement action… and can strike you off the register if the breach is serious enough.

‘So there are particularly hefty implications if you are looking at notes for medical records that you should not be looking at.’

When asked if the Met Police should also be looking into the matter, she said: ‘My understanding is that police have been asked to look at it – whether they take action is a matter for them.’

The Prime Minister's official spokesman urged Brits to 'get behind' Kate on Wednesday amid unsubstantiated speculation about her health and private life

The Prime Minister’s official spokesman urged Brits to ‘get behind’ Kate on Wednesday amid unsubstantiated speculation about her health and private life

Royal experts say Kate has likely been left shocked by the news of the alleged data breach – but will be too busy focusing on her own recovery to let it get to her.

Ingrid Seward, royal biographer and editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, told the Mirror the news will have come as ‘a shock to the palace, a shock to the Princess and a shock to her husband and (to her) father-in-law, the King’.

‘For the London Clinic, it is an embarrassment of the worst kind and they will do their best to appease everyone concerned,’ she continued.

But Ms Seward added: ‘As for Catherine it is another emotional upset; she is going to have to put behind her. She is far stronger than she looks. She will not allow her battered emotions to get the better of her.’

Quizzed by reporters on Wednesday, Rishi Sunak’s official spokesman has urged Brits to ‘get behind the Princess of Wales’.

Asked about the alleged breach at the London Clinic, the spokesman said: ‘Clearly there are strict rules on patient data that must be followed.’

And on whether people should give Kate a break, he added: ‘I think we all want to get behind the Princess of Wales, and indeed the Prince of Wales, and we obviously wish her the speediest of recoveries.’

The Princess of Wales has been the subject of a series of cruel conspiracy theories in recent weeks while continuing to recover from surgery she underwent in January.

Online trolls have suggested she is recovering from ‘Brazilian butt lift surgery’ or that she has even been replaced by a body double.

The toxic discourse has been fuelled further by the Mother’s Day photo shared from the Prince and Princess of Wales’ social media accounts earlier this month – after it emerged the picture had been digitally manipulated at source before release.

Global picture agencies including AP, Getty and PA issued a rare ‘kill order’ on the photograph after ruling that it had been manipulated beyond what they considered acceptable journalistic standards.

It had been hoped that footage of Kate walking happily with William outside a farm shop in Windsor at the weekend might have silenced those sharing theories online.

Instead, conspiracy cranks have pored over the footage trying to give weight to their completely unsupported suggestions that she has been replaced by a lookalike, or that the footage itself is old.

Even professional Kate lookalikes have made it clear that they believe it is the Princess herself in the footage – calling for the conspiracy wonks to leave her alone.

Palace sources have fumed at the ‘madness of social media’ as cruel trolls claim to have found ‘proof’ that the princess is more unwell than claimed, or has been replaced with a double.

Kensington Palace has stated since the start of the year that the Princess will not return to public duties until sometime after Easter.

It has not denied that the video of the Princess captured at the weekend is genuine.

A GARDENER revealed the method they avoided, which always leaves plants a week away from death.

Instead, they lived by a “three strikes” rule that saved time and energy.

1

An expert gardener shared their tips and tricks for beginners

The Redditor u/jelliknacht shared their gardening tips and tricks with beginners.

For those who worried about failure, they explained that failure was inevitable yet valuable.

“Every failure is a lesson,” they said.

Their advice to use large self-watering pots was hoped to reduce rookie mistakes.

“When you see pictures in magazines and on the Internet of piles of leaves coming out of small pots, that’s what they are lies” they explained.

“Or at least rarities. Suppose the underground part of your plant is about the same size as the above-ground part.”

Jelliknight added that gardening is a numbers game and you always have to be careful if you want to bear fruit.

Rather than experience disappointment when store-bought seedlings die, they planted as many seeds as possible to increase the odds of success.

I’m Growing Strawberries and Peppers in My Garden With a Dollar Tree Purchase — People Say It’s ‘Genius’ and ‘Such a Cute Idea’

“Start with seeds. It’s the cheapest way to garden. And you will do so for many years to come,” they said.

“Those seedlings from garden centers have been pampered, shaded, hardened, fertilized, watered several times a day and watched with an expert eye; they are not at all prepared for the harsh realities of life in a noob’s garden.

“Four dollars for one seedling that will permanently die or two dollars for 100 seeds is not a difficult choice.”

One season the gardener planted more than 60 tomato seeds, but was rewarded with only two seedlings.

“Another year I got about two dozen seedlings, I only got fruit from about four plants. Assume you’re going to fail and be pleasantly surprised if you don’t,” they said.

To make their plants successful, they also avoided planting them in containers as this can be restrictive compared to planting in the ground.

“Growing in containers sucks. It just is. In the soil you have water stored, nutrients just hanging around, good insects and worms, in a container you have exactly what you put in it,” they explained.

“Everything is always about a week away from death and the few tomatoes I have taken from containers never taste as good as those from the ground.”

Simple gardening tips to save money, maximize space and repel pests

  1. Banana peels, vinegar and coffee grounds are often recommended as natural fertilizers.
  2. Dollar Tree sells four packets of seeds for $1.25.
  3. Try a vertical planter like the one from Amazon Mr. Stacky stackable planter with 5 levels$35 to make more use of a small space.
  4. Use nets such as the Garden Net Pest Barrier$8, from Amazon to keep away bugs from eating your veggies.
  5. Try sacrificial planting to reduce pesticide use and keep pests out of your garden. By deliberately growing certain plants to attract agricultural pests, you can keep them away from the plants you want to protect. Examples include marigolds, lavender, catnip and chives.
  6. For annoying weeds in your garden, the Grampa’s Weeder – The original upright weed puller tool with long handles$45, from Amazon is a handy tool that you can use without having to bend over.

Other tips, such as growing smaller fruit, figuring out what grows best locally, and only growing what you can eat, increased their success rate and reduced waste.

Even when the going gets tough, Jelliknight wasn’t above giving up.

“I have a three-strikes rule. If I try to grow something three times and fail, I give up and try something else,” they revealed.

“There are some things my neighbors can grow, but I just can’t. There’s no point in going uphill trying to find something that will grow in your plot.”

The curtain will fall on the much-loved Bramcote Farm Shop, which has been an important part of the community for almost five decades.

Of the family business, bosses said: “We have a good range of good fresh produce at affordable prices.”

Shoppers flocked to Bembridge Court close to the A52 to buy their fresh produce and local goods.

But they will now have to take their basket elsewhere as the store closes for the final time next one week.

Devoted owners Anne and Andrew Woodward announced the decision in a heartbreaking post.

Anne said the move followed Andrew’s health problems.

On Facebook they said: “As many of you know, Andrew has not been in the best of health for some time.

“We have therefore decided to close Bramcote Farmshop on March 30.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to all our customers for their support over the past 46 years, especially during the pandemic.”

‘BIG LOSS’

Saddened locals mourning the loss flooded social media with tributes.

One user complained: “I’m sorry to hear this. But enjoy your retirement. May it be happily ever after.”

One saddened customer wrote: “We’re sorry to hear you’re closing the farm shop,” and another added: “Really sad to see you go.”

Many called the local store a “fantastic little shop” and praised the “helpful” and “friendly” staff.

Former shop assistant Hayley Curwood said: “Sorry to hear this, thanks for the opportunity to work for you throughout my teenage years.”

Local customers praised the staff and said it was an asset to the area.

One said: “You have done a great service to the community and we have worked so hard for years to produce fantastic quality fruit, vegetables and meat. I hope you know how much you are appreciated.”

Another added: “Sending so much love. You will be missed but I’m sure I can speak for everyone when I say it was an absolute pleasure shopping with you.”

But this is not the only store to close its doors.

Other retailers have also reduced the number of high street shops, such as Iceland, Boots and Matalan.

Argos also closed 42 UK stores last June, including all 34 branches in the Republic of Ireland.

Meanwhile, Ted Baker recently announced hundreds jobs and stores are at risk after plans to call in administrators were confirmed.

Marks and Spencer is another retailer that has made changes to its store portfolio.

Why are retailers closing their stores?

RETAILERS have been feeling the pressure since the pandemic, as shoppers cut back on spending due to the rising cost of living.

High energy costs and the move to online shopping after the pandemic are also taking their toll, with many high street stores struggling to continue.

The high street has seen a slew of closures in the past year, with more to come.

The number of jobs lost in UK retail fell last year, but 120,000 people still lost their jobs, figures show.

Figures from the Center for Retail Research show that 10,494 stores will have closed for the last time in 2023 and 119,405 jobs will have been lost in the sector.

It was fewer stores than had been lost in recent years, and a decrease from the 151,641 jobs lost in 2022.

The centre’s director, Professor Joshua Bamfield, said the improvement is “less bad” than good.

While some big names on the high street were lost, including Wilko, many major companies had already gone bankrupt before 2022, the center said, such as Topshop owner Arcadia, Jessops and Debenhams.

“The cost of living crisis, inflation and rise in interest rates have prompted many consumers to tighten their belts, causing retail spending to fall,” said Prof Bamfield.

“Retailers themselves have faced rising energy and occupancy costs, staff shortages and declining demand, making rebuilding profits after extensive store closures during the pandemic exceptionally difficult.”

Besides Wilko, which employed around 12,000 people when it went bust, the biggest failures of 2023 include UK Flooring Direct, Planet Organic and Tile Giant.

The Center for Retail Research said most stores were closed as companies tried to reorganize and cut costs rather than face bankruptcy.

However, experts have warned that more bankruptcies are likely this year as consumers tighten their belts and borrowing costs for businesses soar.

According to official figures, about 14% of bankruptcies last year occurred in retail businesses.

MILLIONS of households may soon be able to catch their breath again as interest rates are forecast to remain at their current levels.

Decision-makers at the Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) are expected to keep the base rate at 5.25% for the fifth time in a row on Thursday, March 21.

1

Experts assume that an interest rate cut will probably take place in the summerCredit: Getty

The MPC will assess whether economic conditions are suitable to reduce, maintain or increase interest rates.

The Bank has indicated at recent meetings that cuts are likely in the future, although rates are expected to remain unchanged this week.

It comes as the base rate has risen from an all-time low of 0.1% since December 2021.

Experts now assume that an interest rate cut will likely take place in the summer, between June and August.

The Bank of England meets during the summer on May 9, June 20 and August 1.

Sarah Coles, personal finance expert at Hargreaves Lansdown, said: “At the end of last year, markets were reasonably confident that we would get a rate cut from the Bank of England in May or June, but persistent inflation at the start of the year forced them to think again.”

“At this stage, May looks highly unlikely, June is in the balance and the market is increasingly expecting a rate cut in August.”

Savings rates

How to reduce energy costs and get help with FOUR major household bills

What it means for savings

Savers have benefited from recent increases in the base rate, and would likely be negatively affected if it were to fall.

However, banks tend to compete for your money by offering market-leading interest rates, so make sure you do your research.

Sarah explains: “For savings, the good news is that you don’t need to know exactly what’s in the card to make the right decision, because your emergency fund should be in a competitive, easy-to-access account, so everything you need what you need to do is find the best rate available today.”

Putting money aside for any reason is always a good thing.

However, it’s good to have a plan you’re saving for as this will help you choose the best savings account for you and ensure you get the most out of your hard-earned money.

There are different ways to put money in a savings account.

The most popular are easy access accounts, which usually pay a variable interest rate that can change at any time, but you can access your money at any time, without any penalty.

The best savings rates are usually found on fixed-rate bonds. These pay a fixed interest rate over a specific period, such as one, two or five years, and you get your money and interest back once the product term expires.

What it means for your mortgage

Anyone who already has a fixed interest rate will not see their payments fall if the Bank of England cuts rates, as they are fixed for a fixed period.

So those looking to take out a mortgage must decide whether to get one now or wait until interest rates drop in the summer.

But other mortgages, such as a tracker or standard variable rate (SVR) mortgage, can also be directly affected.

SVRs are generally higher than fixed rates for this reason.

Sarah says: “For remortgagers, you are faced with the question of whether you should choose a fixed rate or switch to a tracker rate.

“Fixed rates are still quite expensive, but they do offer certainty about your expenses.”

“Tracker prices may be a bit higher today, but if prices fall from August onwards, you will see that decline.”

If you want to borrow around this time, that is also good news for you.

Alice Haine, personal finance analyst at Bestinvest, said: “Rate cuts would be a huge relief for many borrowers, especially those struggling with heavy debt or oversized mortgages.”

“A rate cut in the summer, perhaps as early as June, would provide a huge boost to potential buyers and existing homebuyers desperate for some relief from skyrocketing financing costs.”

What it means for credit cards

Certain loans you already have, such as a personal loan or car financing, usually remain the same because you have already agreed on the rate.

So you’re not likely to see any difference, but rates on future loans may be lower, and lenders may reduce rates on credit cards and overdrafts.

This doesn’t mean you should take out unnecessary loans or credit cards, as rates could rise again in the future.

FROM free Greggs to Cadbury crème eggs, there are some lesser-known ways you can get surprising discounts every week.

You should always be looking for ways to save money and boost your bank account, even if it’s just a few dollars.

But there are some little-known ways that can help you access freebies and discounts on a regular basis.

From energy companies offering free Greggs items to supermarket chains handing out free hot drinks, here’s everything you can get.

Free Gregg

Greggs is already cheap and cheerful, but there are additional ways to save money at the bakery chain.

Octopus Energy, one of Britain’s largest energy companies, launched its own loyalty program last year.

Customers can get discounts on cinema tickets and days out from the National Trust under the “Octoplus” scheme.

But households can also get a free hot drink from Greggs every week through the scheme.

All you have to do is download a code from the app to your phone and scan it in the store to claim the freebie.

Free hot drinks

Most major supermarkets have loyalty programs, which typically reward you with loyalty points when you shop in-store or online.

Easy ways to reduce your mobile bill

But Waitrose customers who participate in the myWaitrose loyalty program can also claim a free hot drink when they make a qualifying purchase in store.

Shoppers can pick up a free Americano, cappuccino, latte or tea through the offer, limited to one per day.

Retailer Ikea also has a similar offer for customers taking part in the Ikea Family programme, where customers can get a free hot drink every day between Monday and Friday.

You can download both loyalty programs as apps on your smartphone and claim the free gifts by scanning in-store.

Fuel

Four major petrol station chains are offering discounts on petrol and diesel to customers who have signed up for their loyalty programmes.

Esso, BP, Shell and Texaco all have their own programs where motorists can collect points to get cash on future trips.

Some also allow you to redeem your accumulated points with their partners, including M&S and Amazon.

BP also lets customers convert their points into Avios for cash on flights, meaning you can get that next holiday for less.

You can claim the freebies from all four gas station chains by downloading their apps on your smartphone.

Discount on cinema tickets

If you have a smartphone, chances are you’re entitled to free or discounted movie tickets.

Vodafone is offering customers two ODEON tickets for £8 once a week through its Veryme Rewards programme.

Meanwhile, Three Mobile customers can get £3 Cineworld tickets and O2 Priority is offering customers two Vue tickets for £9 once a week.

Amazon Prime customers can also get two standard ODEON cinema tickets for £10 once a month.

Which chains have loyalty programs?

HERE are some of the most popular loyalty programs…

  • Sainsbury’s Nectar card
  • Tesco Club Card
  • Boots discount card
  • Iceland Bonus Card
  • LidlPlus
  • Morrisons Lake
  • MyDyas by Robert Dyas
  • Cooperative membership
  • M&S sparks
  • My Waitrose
  • Superdrug Health and beauty

In addition, anyone who purchases a qualifying product from Compare The Market can get two-for-one ODEON cinema tickets every Tuesday or Wednesday for a year.

Free Cadbury Creme Eggs

Three+ not only offers customers free movie tickets, but also offers other seasonal freebies.

The mobile phone provider is offering customers a one-off chance to get a free Cadbury Creme Egg from WHSmith before April 7.

But there are only 23,000 to redeem and they are going on a first come, first served basis.

Customers simply need to download a barcode via the Three+ app on their phone and then scan it in store.

Cruising is the fastest growing sector of the travel industry, so perhaps it’s no wonder some of the world’s most exclusive hotel groups are gunning for a piece of the action. For decades, they have had to watch their wealthy clientele disappear over the horizon on board five-star boutique ships.

But with big money behind them, Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, Orient Express and Aman are quickly entering the ultra-luxury cruise market, launching a fleet of superyachts loaded with champions, caviar and the promise of adventures for some of the most remote areas of the world.

Until recently, luxury cruise lines such as Crystal, Silversea, Seabourn, Ponant and Regent Seven Seas had this lucrative market almost to themselves, with wealthy guests sailing in an all-inclusive cocoon of opulence, enjoying butler service, fine dining and private access to excursions – all for around £500 – £1,000 per person per night.

But the upmarket hotel groups are already demanding much higher rates, with offers such as sophisticated suites that reflect their brands’ signature style and exclusive invitation-only sailings.

Edwina Lonsdale, director of luxury cruise agency Mundy Cruising, said: ‘This will create more competition to attract high-spending customers and introduce a large number of new guests to the market. But will the hotel’s superyachts create the same atmosphere and club atmosphere?’

RITZ-CARLTON

Going out in style: Some of the world’s most exclusive hotel groups have expanded into the ultra-luxury cruise market. Above you see Evrima, the new yacht from Ritz-Carlton

The sleek 298-guest superyacht Evrima was launched last summer and will be joined in July by Ilma and Luminara in autumn 2025.

Five restaurants, a spa, two infinity pools, a watersports marina, a personal concierge, impressive art on the walls and a shop selling Cartier watches and Hermes Birkin handbags all add to the exclusivity.

The suites are generously sized and have a refined boutique hotel style.

Although Evrima is all-inclusive, there is one restaurant where guests have to pay, which costs more than £300 per person at three-star chef Sven Elverfeld’s specialty restaurant, SEA.

To date, 75 percent of Evrima’s passengers are Ritz-Carlton loyalty card members and about half are new to cruising. The first guests – by invitation only and mainly in their early 50s (bringing the average age in the traditional cruise market to 57) – used their loyalty points, but earned back by sailing to trendy ports including Mykonos, Saint-Tropez and St. Barts.

In addition to the convenience of booking pre- and post-cruise stays at Ritz-Carlton hotels, guests can also spend a day ashore at the group’s beach resorts when their superyachts pull into ports like St. Kitts in the Caribbean.

Book It: Eight-day return flight from San Juan, Puerto Rico, departing March 16 with stops in the Caribbean, including St. Barts and Jost Van Dyke, from £5,660pp (ritzcarltonyachtcollection.com).

FOUR SEASONS

To create Four Seasons’ first yacht, designers were tasked with combining the style of the elegant yacht Christina O – once owned by Jackie Kennedy’s second husband, billionaire Greek shipowner Aristotle Onassis – with the technology of a James Bond movie.

The ship, which is still under construction and as yet unnamed, will have 95 suites and 11 bars and restaurants, plus a full spa.

The four-story, 9,000-square-foot Funnel Suite will even have its own spa and wading pool, plus 280-degree panoramic views through the largest single pane of glass ever seen at sea.

The yacht will sail to no fewer than 130 destinations in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. Announcing the 190-passenger vessel’s entry into the cruise market at the Monaco Yacht Show, Four Seasons offered invitation-only bookings with an £8,000pp deposit for sailings due to commence in autumn 2025.

According to a Four Seasons spokesperson, this sales model is “a way to navigate demand when you have an exclusive product with a limited supply.”

Book It: Register your interest on the Four Seasons website and expect rates to start at around £2,000 – £2,750 pp per night (fourseasonsyachts.com).

ACCOR

Hospitality giant Accor has announced two superyachts for its historic brand, Orient Express, due to launch in 2026 and 2027.

A spokesperson – aggressively highlighting the competition for guests at this ultra-luxury level while proving money is no object – claims that “the ships will be more exclusive than Ritz-Carlton’s Evrima and will charge double the rates.”

The first, 220-metre Orient Express Silenseas, will be the largest sail-powered ship ever built, with three rigid sails and tilting masts, although it can use liquefied natural gas (LNG) if necessary.

Architect Maxime d’Angeac’s interior reflects the Golden Age of Travel – an era when princesses and movie stars graced the French Riviera – and features a private recording studio with sound engineer and two swimming pools, including a lap pool.

Book It: Reservations will open later this year (accorhotels.com).

A MAN

With some of the most exclusive hotels in the world – mostly intimate retreats with fewer than 30 rooms – Aman Resorts already offers sailings on the two-masted yacht Amandira, where 14 crew members care for up to ten guests.

And now Aman has entered into a joint venture with Cruise Saudi, owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, to add a 180-metre motor yacht to its fleet in 2027.

The 47-suite full-balcony ship has yet to be named but will feature two helipads, a spa with Japanese garden and a marina platform for access to water sports.

Seven-day charters on Amandira cost from £88,000

No itineraries have been released yet, although guests can expect sailings to locations away from the crowds.

Amandira already explores the islands in Indonesia’s Flores Sea, including the UNESCO-listed Komodo National Park, with a dive master leading expeditions to coral reefs around Raja Ampat, an archipelago made up of 1,500 small islands and crystal clear waters.

Book It: Seven-day charters on Amandira cost from £88,000, (aman.com) or sign up for the new yacht at aman.com/yachts.

MILLIONS of households could once again breathe a sigh of relief as interest rates are expected to remain unchanged next week.

Decision-makers at the Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) are expected to keep interest rates at 5.25% for the fifth time in a row.

The MPC will meet this week to decide whether the economy is showing the signs it wants to see before it starts cutting interest rates.

But economists say that, as things stand, only one member of the nine-member committee is likely to think conditions are right for a cut.

The Bank has indicated at recent meetings that cuts are likely in the future after interest rates have been raised or left unchanged at each meeting for the past four years.

When the group met in February, only one of them, Swati Dhingra, voted for a rate cut.

Two voted for an increase, but the rest said they should stay at 5.25%.

Robert Wood, chief Britain economist at Pantheon Macroeconomics, said he expects the same mood this time.

Mr Wood said: “The MPC focuses on ‘tightness in labor market conditions, wage growth and service price inflation’ to assess ‘how long bank rates should be maintained at current levels'”.

“We believe the data did not surprise enough to trigger a change in guidance at the MPC meeting on March 21.

‘The Bank will continue to signal interest rate cuts, but with little news on the timing.

“We expect the same 1-6-2 (cut-hold-hike) vote as last month,” he said.

The Sun’s James Flanders explains how to find the best deal on your mortgage

Since that last meeting, gross domestic product (GDP) data for December showed the UK economy contracting by 0.3%, pushing it into recession.

That was worse than the 0.0% move the MPC had expected.

Both unemployment and consumer price index inflation have also been lower than the MPC expected in its February forecast.

Figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show that the annual rate of price increase remained at 4% in January.

Mr Wood said: “On the whole, the data since the last meeting of the MPC confirms the predictions – rather than questioning them.

“That’s all the BoE needs to stay on track summer interest rate cuts.

“In February, MPC forecast inflation would fall to 1.4% over two years if rates remained restrictive at 5.25%. Policymakers just need the confidence to rely on these forecasts.”

New consumer price index inflation figures for February will be released by the Office for National Statistics on Wednesday.

The Bank will have these figures before making a decision.

What an interest rate pause means for your money

Below we reveal more about what a rate break could mean for your money.

Mortgages

When interest rates rise, it usually means that your mortgage costs will increase, depending on the type you have.

Those with fixed rates are usually safe for now until they remortgage.

But other mortgages, such as a tracker or standard variable rate (SVR) mortgage, can also be directly affected.

Homeowners with an adjustable-rate mortgage may not see their payments increase immediately, but they are likely to increase shortly after interest rates increase.

But the exact amount depends on your loan and your loan-to-value.

However, if the BoE chooses to freeze current interest rates, your lender may choose to do nothing at all.

This will come as a huge relief to those who have experienced fourteen consecutive increases in their mortgage bills.

Either way, your bank should warn you of any increase in your rate before it goes up.

Here you will find more information about how to find the best mortgage rate.

Credit card and loan rates

Here too, the cost of borrowing through loans, credit cards and overdrafts may increase if the base interest rate is increased, because banks are likely to pass on the increased interest rate.

Certain loans you already have, such as a personal loan or car financing, usually remain the same because you have already agreed on the rate.

But rates on future loans could be higher, and lenders could increase rates on credit cards and overdrafts – although they should let you know in advance.

If interest rate increases are halted again, nothing will likely change.

However, you can still cancel a credit card if you wish. You then have 60 days to pay off the outstanding balance.

Savings rates

Savers are the most important group that has actually benefited from the last fourteen interest rate increases.

That’s because banks tend to enter the fray by offering market-leading interest rates.

Although banks usually take action much slower than when they pass on higher interest rates.

If the base rate does not rise, banks will probably benefit from this and also leave their interest rates unchanged.

Anyone currently getting a low rate on easy-to-access savings might find it worth shopping around for a better rate and moving their money.
