A disabled pedestrian jailed for causing the death of a cyclist in the street has been released on unconditional bail after winning the right to challenge her manslaughter conviction.

Auriol Gray is ‘excited’ to be back home and was welcomed with ‘big hugs’ from supportive neighbors and after doing a supermarket shop.

She was jailed for three years in March last year for aggressively waving at a retired midwife who then fell into the path of an oncoming car, killing her.

Polite and well-spoken, Gray confirmed to MailOnline today that she was now back home, but refused to say how she was feeling or answer questions, simply saying: ‘No comment.’

Her good friend Roman Ramsay, who bailed her out, said: “We are so happy that Auriol is back home and it is really nice to see her again. She should never have been in jail in the first place.”

He added: “She is happy to get bail.”

Another friend and neighbor Robert Reed told our website: ‘She was granted bail and left jail last night.

‘I welcomed her home and we had a quick cuddle before she went to the Aldi store to buy some stuff.

“One of our friends got her out of jail and we’re all so happy she’s back. She is in good spirits and happy to be home.”

She had spent a year behind bars at HMP Peterborough.

Gray returned to her adapted flat in a gated complex in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, owned and maintained by the Papworth Trust, which had been ‘sparklingly cleaned’ by her neighbours.

Mr Ramsey said Gray, now 50, was also “pleased and relieved” at the prospect of her name being cleared if her appeal was successful, and had told friends: “I’m not a murderer!”

After three judges at the Court of Appeal this week allowed her to challenge her conviction, he said: ‘Auriol was very angry about being in prison in the first place.’

The retired stonemason, 78, who regularly visited her in prison and last saw her inside on Saturday, said: ‘Her friends, family and neighbors all thought it was completely ridiculous that she had been convicted of manslaughter and given a custodial sentence.

“So did she, and she has always maintained that she is not a murderer.”

A spokesperson for the Criminal Appeal Office told MaiOnline: ‘Auriol Gray has been granted unconditional bail pending her appeal against the conviction.

‘She has been released. It is expected that the appeal will be heard in May 2024.”

Gray, who suffers from cerebral palsy and partial blindness, denied manslaughter but was found guilty after a retrial.

She lost her appeal against her sentence in May last year, but has since hired new lawyers who took her case to the Court of Appeal in London.

Mr Ramsey said: ‘She feared she would lose her flat after receiving a three-year prison sentence, but fortunately she was not deprived of that sentence.

“She has been looking forward to the thought of coming home.

‘We prepared it for her with great anticipation, it has been cleaned and it shines!

“She has many friends and neighbors here who care about her and will care for her, and we will all give her a warm welcome.

“She also has caregivers who help.”

He added: ‘She is pleased with the appeal hearing and the fact that her conviction could be overturned.

‘She just wants to get on with her life.

‘She was not present at the hearing but was allowed to watch the proceedings via video link from the Governor’s office at HMP Peterborough.’

Gray has few surviving relatives – her mother Verna Gray, 87, from Sudbury, Suffolk, is not in the ‘best of health’ and has rarely been able to visit her in prison.

She has a businessman brother-in-law who lives in Chiswick, West London.

Her father and sister are both deceased.

Gray was caught on CCTV gesturing to grandmother Celia Ward, 77, while shouting at her to ‘get off the sidewalk’ in Huntingdon in October 2020.

A spokesman for the Criminal Appeal Office said: ‘This case was heard on Tuesday and the application for leave to appeal against a conviction was granted.

“A new hearing date will be set in due course for the final outcome of the appeal.

“The court has granted the lawyer the liberty to file a bail application.”

Ben Rose, of lawyers at Hickman & Rose, who are representing Gray, said: ‘Auriol Gray is an autistic, disabled person with reduced vision.

“In a case like this, the prosecutor must prove to the jury that she intended to harm, or feared harm, to Ms. Ward.

‘We say this did not happen and will therefore ask the Court of Appeal to quash Ms Grey’s conviction when the case is heard in May.’

Mr Ramsey told how Gray had appeared ‘in good spirits’ whenever he visited her – and before he was released yesterday.

He said: ‘She has been inside for a year and is doing well considering the circumstances. She is well cared for in a special wing because of her needs, keeps her head down and does not cause any problems.

“She is a smart and very literate lady and instead of going crazy inside, she has put her mind to good use.

“She is always reading and taking quizzes, and even learning advanced math from another inmate.

‘She has a lot of knowledge and the people there are amazed at what she knows.

‘But she can’t wait to get out of prison and get on with her life.

“She feels like she has been wronged.”

A plus-size influencer has exposed the brutal reality of traveling while overweight, revealing she can’t lower her food tray and has to ‘swing’ sideways down the aisle.

Alicia Gilbya size 4X model, regularly documents her daily life and style choices on her Instagram account, where she has amassed more than 105,000 followers.

But in a recent clip, the Canadian content creator veered away from fashion-focused content to expose the painful reality of flying on a plane as an overweight person in a very candid TikTok post.

In a viral video, which has attracted more than 359,000 people so far, Alicia said she had to use a seat belt extender while traveling and sit next to the “smallest” person in her family.

She captioned the clip: “I’m plus size and on a plane. Did I miss something?’

On board the plane, the influencer said: “I have a large size and of course I can’t put the tray down on the plane.”

The clip then cut to another angle, showing Alicia sitting in an airplane seat next to a young boy.

She noted that because she is overweight, she has to sit next to the “smallest” person in her family.

The content creator added that it is very uncomfortable for her to travel because the armrest “digs” into her hips.

“I’m plus size and on a plane I naturally have to shuffle sideways down the aisle,” she said as she walked through the plane.

Finally, Alicia said that because of her size she always needs a seat belt extender.

Despite the clip achieving viral success, Alicia disabled the comments section.

This isn’t the first time a plus-size influencer has discussed their issues with flight accommodations.

Jae’lynn Chaney, 25, from Vancouver, Canada, has also opened up about the difficulties she faces as a ‘fat’ person on airlines.

She candidly documented her struggle to fit into airplane seats and bathrooms, revealing that she often has to buy two seats to travel “comfortably.”

She previously demanded that the Federal Aviation Authority and airlines give overweight fliers as many free seats as they need to fly comfortably.

She also revealed that she wants airlines to be forced to refund overweight passengers for any extra seats they have to buy when booking to accommodate their size.

“As plus-size travelers, my partner and I have unfortunately experienced discrimination and discomfort while flying,” she wrote in her petition.

She added: “All plus-size passengers should be provided with an additional vacant seat, or even two or three seats depending on their size, to meet their needs and ensure their comfort during the flight.”

Turning her attention to refunds, she added: “Airlines should offer a refund to plus-size passengers who purchase additional seats independently. This should be a simple process that can be accessed online or through customer service.”

An incredibly unlucky woman missed out on a £3.6million lottery win after all her numbers were just one away from winning.

Nicole Makrigannis, 23, from Liverpool, took part in the Set For Life draw, which would have given her £10,000 a month for 30 years.

The total prize amounts to a huge £3.6 million over the next three decades.

The make-up artist chose numbers 3, 12, 20, 39, 44 and 6 in the Set For Life lottery.

But the balls drawn were 2, 11, 19, 38, 43 and 6 – just one number short of the numbers she had chosen – in an almost unbelievable stroke of luck.

Nicole Makrigannis (pictured) from Liverpool couldn’t believe her own misfortune as she narrowly missed out on winning the Lottery’s Set For Life prize

Nicole was devastated when the drawing took place and she noticed her hilarious misadventure.

She wrote on X, formerly Twitter: ‘Oh my God. Why do bad things always happen to me?

“It wasn’t in the universe’s plan to let me live my life.”

To make matters worse, Nicole had chosen the correct number for the life ball (6), which is required to win the top prize of £10,000 per month.

Nicole took part in the Set For Life lottery draw – part of the main National Lottery – on Monday 18 March.

Others on social media were also in disbelief at poor Nicole’s accident.

Friend Adam from Sheffield said: ‘This would be my thirteenth reason why.’

Another said: ‘It’s called ‘one-off’. Usually this means that you are very close to the big win. The universe is just testing how you will respond.”

Haleigh Bailey said, “No, this wouldn’t make my villain era lie.”

Another added: “Just the words ‘set for life’ after seeing those numbers would have left me rocking back and forth in the corner sobbing.”

It comes after carer Joanne Jobson, 51, from Hartlepool, claimed the Set For Life prize in a draw on February 22.

Joanne showed what can happen if you manage to select all the lucky numbers and plan to use the money to buy her own house, book a world cruise and attend an ABBA tribute concert.

She said: ‘I’m so excited to be able to buy my own house and I’ve already started house hunting.

‘I lived with my mother and tried to save for my own house, but I was still far from realizing that step. It’s amazing that I can now make that dream a reality. I still can’t believe I won, it’s absolutely life-changing for me.’

An Alabama woman who staged her own kidnapping in a bizarre case that captured national attention last summer pleaded guilty Thursday to charges of filing a false police report, her attorney said.

The woman, Carlee Russell, 26, was given two six-month suspended prison sentences, allowing her to avoid time behind bars if she successfully completes a 12-month probation period and 100 hours of community service. She must also pay $17,000 in restitution, her attorney, Emory Anthony, said in a telephone interview.

Ms. Russell’s name and photo dominated the news cycle in mid-2023 after she made a strange 911 call on July 13, reporting she had seen a stranded toddler on the side of a road in the city of Hoover, Ala. Shortly afterwards, she told a family member about the toddler on another call before that person heard Ms Russell screaming.

That was the last anyone heard from her before she was reported missing, prompting a statewide search. Two days after her disappearance, she showed up at her family’s home on foot and told investigators an elaborate story about her kidnapping and a harrowing escape through the woods.

But a police investigation soon poked holes in her account, turning up suspicious online searches that suggested she had planned her disappearance.

Before the end of that month, she confessed in a letter to the police, sent through her lawyer, Mr Anthony, that the whole ordeal was a lie perpetrated solely by herself. There was no child and there was no kidnapping.

The confession confused authorities involved in the search for Ms. Russell.

Hoover Police Chief Nicholas Derzis said Ms. Russell had wasted crucial law enforcement resources.

But her attorney said the sentence, a typical probation sentence for first-time offenders, was a fair outcome.

“I’m glad the judge didn’t try to make an example of her,” Mr Anthony said.

The Alabama attorney general’s office, which prosecuted the case, and other officials had hoped for a stiffer sentence.

“We are disappointed, but not surprised, that Ms. Russell did not receive the requested prison sentence for her crimes,” Katherine Robertson, the attorney general’s lead attorney, said in a statement.

Ms. Robertson added that the punishment imposed under current law is weak, and she expressed support for a proposed state law that would make falsely reporting an imminent danger to police a misdemeanor.

In Circuit Court in Jefferson County, Alabama, Judge David Carpenter told Ms. Russell on Thursday that putting her behind bars would be a waste of resources.

“While we are angry about what you did, we are not going to treat you any differently than any other person accused of crimes,” the judge said. WSFA 12, a local television station.

Ms. Russell, for her part, apologized to the community and law enforcement, attributing her mistake to poor mental health, the station reported.

“I can say with all my heart that I never had any malicious intent to hurt anyone,” she said in a statement.

But Neil has now taken to social media to reveal a shocking ordeal they were the victims of.

Speaking Xhe said: “We were robbed in Rio tonight, so unfortunately I won’t be available by phone for a while. Everything is going well with us, except that we have been shaken up.

“Passports, maps, some cash and our silver medals were all stolen. A sad way to end the day.”

Cyclists Neil and Lora, both OBEs, have taken their son Fraser, 1, to Rio.

But Neil’s tweet has put to rest any concerns that they were physically injured in the incident.

Neil, who suffers from an eye condition called retinitis pigmentosa, has won 19 world titles, two Olympic gold medals and two silver medals.

He followed up his Olympic triumph in London with another in Rio – while his two silver medals also came in the Brazilian capital.

He is scheduled to defend his tandem B kilo and tandem B sprint world titles later this week.

Lora, who has a hereditary condition of vision loss meaning she only has light perception, won gold and bronze medals at Rio 2016.

Three years ago she claimed another gold medal in Tokyo.

I won Team GB’s first gold medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games… now I’m forging my own path in a new career as an Army Major

Earlier this week, Lora, who gave birth in November 2022, spoke about combining parenthood with cycling.

Speaking to BBC Sport, she said: “Pushing your body to its limits during training is difficult and painful, but you are the one in control.

“As a parent you’re not necessarily in control and babies aren’t given an instruction manual, so you’re constantly having to adjust and reassess and change plans.

“I was an athlete who likes a plan and sticks to it. I’m a pretty logical thinker and babies don’t do that, so it tests you, especially in the early days.”

Jimmy Allen confirmed that he is the father of six children – and two of the children were born before he reconciled with his wife, Alexis Gale.

“I have six children. I love every single one of them. I refuse to let anyone shame me in front of my children. The only opinion I care about is theirs.💛,” Allen, 38, wrote via Instagram Stories on Tuesday, March 19, alongside photos of his kids, according to Entertainment tonight.

The country singer and Gale welcomed Naomi, 4, and Zara, 2, before their wedding went south. He shared photos of his eldest children on Tuesday (he welcomed Aadyn, 9, with an ex in 2015), followed by the first photos of 9-month-old twins, Aria and Amari, who he shares with the mystery woman. He also included a photo of his youngest son with Gale: Cohen Ace James, 5 months.

Allen and Gale got married in 2021 after two years of dating. They announced their split in April 2023 when Gale was pregnant with their third child.

Flora Steel, an art historian, bought a silver brooch at an antiques fair in the English Midlands more than thirty years ago for about twenty pounds, about $35 at the time. After wearing it for several years on the lapel of one of her favorite coats, she put it in a closet, where it remained untouched for twenty years.

That was until last year, when Ms Steel was scrolling through YouTube on her phone and came across a 2011 BBC story about a brooch featured on the television program ‘Antiques Roadshow’. In the clip, presenter Geoffrey Munn showed a page of sketches of other brooches designed by the same Victorian-era architect and artist.

“I thought, ‘God, that’s mine!’” Ms. Steel said.

Mr Munn said during the show that he dreamed of finding brooches designed by the artist William Burges, calling his jewelry the “almost holy grail of Victorian 19th-century design.”

On Tuesday, Ms. Steel’s brooch sold for £9,500 (about $12,000) to a private collector at Gildings Auctioneers in Market Harborough, England. It is made of silver, lapis lazuli, malachite and pink coral.

“It caught my eye because of the incredible design – the beautiful use of stones,” said Ms Steel, who has been collecting silver jewelry since she was 13.

Mrs Steel was the third person to sell a William Burges brooch by auction through Gildings; the other two also realized the value of their brooches after watching ‘Antiques Roadshow’. One of the brooches sold for £31,000 in 2011 (approximately $50,000 at the time).

Burges, who is best known for his designs Cardiff castle in Wales, made the brooches for the weddings of two friends in 1864, Gildings said, citing notes on the original sketches of the brooches, which are stored in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Ms Steel’s brooch, which has a Victorian Gothic aesthetic, is engraved with the initials ‘JCG’, the initials of Rev John Gibson, a clergyman, and Caroline Bendyshe, a great-niece of Admiral Lord Nelson.

“If those pages of sketches had not been preserved, the association with the designer would have been completely lost in the annals of history,” says Will Gilding, director at Gildings.

Ms Steel, who is from Britain but lives in Rome, said her joy at discovering she owned a long-lost, treasured brooch brought her much-needed joy after two years of treatment for breast cancer.

After successful treatment, she said she planned to donate some of the money to a breast cancer research fund and give some to her son. She also considered setting aside a few for herself for a five-day horseback riding tour of Tuscany, Italy, and a visit to the San Carlo Opera House in Naples.

Police have launched a new search for the body of Ballarat mother Samantha Murphy at Royal Park in Buninyong, about 10 kilometers from the original search area.

The 51-year-old was last seen leaving her home on Eureka Street in Ballarat East about 7am on February 4 for a run at nearby Woowookrung Regional Park.

No trace of the mother-of-three has ever been found, despite Patrick Orren Stephenson, 22, being charged with her murder on March 7.

Police allege Stephenson ‘intentionally assaulted’ Ms Murphy in Mount Clear, about 5km from her home, on the day she went jogging.

He was taken into custody and police allege he repeatedly refused to cooperate with police in their investigation into Ms Murphy’s remains.

Royal Park is a small park in Buninyong city, with facilities such as football fields and a children’s playground. The park is surrounded by bushland.

Police have launched a new search for the body of Ballarat mother Samantha Murphy in Buninyong.

The original search area was the extensive Woowookarung Regional Park, which is approximately 7 km from the new search area.

It comes after Patrick Stephenson, 22, was charged with one count of murder following her suspicious disappearance.

  • Prince William and Kate were seen at The Windsor Farm Shop on Saturday

A BBC reporter has apparently fueled conspiracy theories about the Princess of Wales by claiming the woman seen with Prince William during a visit to a farm shop last weekend is ‘clearly not Kate’.

Kate was filmed carrying shopping bags and walking quickly alongside her husband as they visited the Windsor store, a mile away from their home, Adelaide Cottage.

These were the first images of the future queen since her abdominal surgery in January. While the film came as a relief to millions of people, others around the world continued to allege insane conspiracy theories – with trolls claiming it wasn’t Kate.

The broadcaster’s sports reporter Sonja McLaughlan appeared to promote the wild suggestions, repeating the online theory that Prince William was not shopping with his wife, but with a look-alike.

She then suggested in a now-deleted tweet that even the heir apparent could have been replaced by an actor.

Ms McLaughlan wrote: ‘Disturbing that newspapers like The Times are reporting this as fact. Headline ‘Kate seen in public for the first time’ when it’s clearly not her. As someone said. It could be a couple of doppelgängers getting up to mischief.”

Commenting on a video comparing the princess in the images to other previous photos of herself, the BBC freelance journalist added: ‘It’s so clearly not Kate. Some newspapers report it as fact.

‘But it’s not her. Not a conspiracy theorist, but all very strange.’

However, earlier today, Britain’s ‘most realistic’ Kate Middleton lookalike debunked ‘crazy’ conspiracy theories that it is her in the farm shop video rather than the real Princess of Wales.

Heidi Agan, 43, who has made a living impersonating the royal for more than a decade, said she believes the images are “100 percent” to be Kate and William.

“There has obviously been some speculation about whether it was Kate and William in those images and photos,” she told The Mirror.

“Actually, my own social media has gone crazy because people think it’s me, but I know it’s not. I was working at the time, so I know it’s not me. “I 100% believe it’s Kate Middleton and William in that video.”

“So she’s alive, and we can be sure of that. It has all gone too far now,” she added.

Kate’s appearance, first reported by the Sun, marked the first time Kate has been seen in public since scheduled abdominal surgery in January.

Despite Kensington Palace setting out a clear timeline for the Princess’s recovery – with her return to the public eye expected after the end of the Easter holidays – online trolls have sparked bizarre theories.

Baseless and hurtful conspiracy theories spread about her online include that she is dead, has been replaced by a body double or that Wales’ marriage is in trouble.

A royal source told the Telegraph: ‘Finally everyone can calm down.’

The BBC declined to comment.

Conspiracy theorists have taken to social media to cast doubt on video showing the Princess of Wales smiling during a shopping trip over the weekend.

An ‘incredibly happy’ Princess Catherine was seen in public on Saturday as she joined her husband for a trip to their local farm shop in Windsor.

Stills from footage of the visit showed the mother-of-three in good spirits, and appearing healthy and relaxed, as she chatted with Prince William on the return to their car.

The news will have reassured fans of the couple that Kate is recovering well from her abdominal surgery in January, which has left her unable to carry out public engagements.

It comes after wild social media speculation and gossip about Kate’s health and whereabouts, which is understood to have left the couple deeply upset.

However, the furore shows no signs of abating among some, as some cynics took to  social media to denounce the images as fake, accusing them of showing a body double, a different woman or having been altered by AI.

Some sceptical social media users have accused the image of being doctored or generated using AI. Pictured: An image of Kate created by AI

Others have accused the  woman in the photo of being a body double for the Princess of Wales. Pictured: Heidi Agan, a Kate Middleton lookalike

One person calling themselves The Mirror Of Truth on X claimed the person in the photo was not Princess Catherine, but someone else entirely.

They wrote: ‘Take a closer look at the photo and you’ll understand that it’s not Kate, she has completely different cheekbones and a whole face…’

Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu said: ‘Wait….who the hell is that with Prince William? Are you all thinking what I’m thinking or do I need to go to Specsavers?’

One user going by the name Jesus Girl Jen added: ‘Omggg. That doesn’t look like either one of them.’

Others cast doubts on the legitimacy of the image in question, with one X user called Dick The Stick writing: ‘I’ve seen clearer photos of UFOs.’

A user called James (UnfilteredTruth) added: ‘AI generated image, and not even a good one. This cover-up gets more embarrassing, and concerning in equal measure.’

Meanwhile, a user called Shield Maiden Io insisted it wasn’t Kate in the photo, writing: ‘That isn’t her. Higher cheek bones, different eyes, different smile, different walk, slimmer build. Carrying bag after abdo surgery. Body double.’

However, there was push back against the doubters from royal fans, who insisted the photo was genuine and was a sign of Kate’s recovery following her surgery.

Molly Elizabeth wrote: ‘If you really don’t think this is Kate then you need to go to Specsavers … and probably go touch some grass.’

RoyallyBelle said: ‘That’s the Princess of Wales alright! Kate is BACK.’

Kayla Adams added: ‘I don’t usually post photos that are taken outside public events, but here you go ladies and gentlemen. The Prince and Princess of Wales out at a local farm shop near their home as reported this weekend. Can the Kate Middleton conspiracies settle down please.’

Saad wrote: ‘Kate is absolutely insane because how can you go through a major surgery, have the most vile rumours and conspiracy theories circulated about you, get attacked and harassed by armchair critics and still come out looking so gorgeous and unbothered.’

Another person added: ‘Honestly Kate could walk up to some of these idiots, slap them around the face, tell them she is Princess Kate… and they still would say she’s a lookalike, or a clone, or whatever batshit crazy conspiracy they’ve concocted! She’s out and about, looking happy and healthy… time to stop the madness!’

Kensington Palace has not commented on the photo where Kate is seen striding from the Windsor Farm Shop – much loved by the couple and set up by William’s late grandfather Prince Philip – while carrying a substantial shopping bag on Saturday afternoon.

The future queen looked well and was sportily-dressed, wearing a hooded top, gym leggings, sports socks and trainers.

She was seen smiling as she spoke to the Prince of Wales, who appeared to be equally happy to be out and about with his wife in the spring sunshine. William was also casual in a baseball cap, casual coat, jeans and trainers.

The couple had gone there for supplies having reportedly spent the morning watching their three children – George, 10, Charlotte, eight, and Louis, five, play sport.

The snap was taken at 12.43pm on Saturday by a member of the public who was also at the farm shop, just a mile’s drive from the Wales’ Adelaide Cottage home, on their Apple iPhone 12 Pro phone.

The person concerned said they were visiting the shop to ‘kill time’ while on the way to meet someone to buy an item from Facebook when they recognised William and Kate and were struck by how ‘happy’ they looked.

They spotted the couple again in the car park and decided to capture the moment to share with their own delighted family.

‘When I went inside I looked around and noticed them. They all looked happy,’ the person, who wishes to remain anonymous, said.

‘To be honest I don’t follow this type of news but I shared [it] with my family – they were like ‘oh, she’s alive!’ ‘

It also shatters cruel conspiracy theories being shared on social media, the onlooker said.

Body language expert Judi James said tonight that Kate’s behaviour was ‘quite extraordinary’.

She told MailOnline: ‘It is completely stunning to see the most sought-after woman in the world and the subject of speculation and rumours on social media suddenly appearing like this looking not just healthy, full of energy and incredibly happy but also making no apparent attempt to hide while out in public.

‘Kate walks ahead of William here, taking large enough strides to suggest no hint of any ongoing frailty. While William keeps his face partially hidden under his cap and his head lowered, Kate’s body language here suggests a desire to be seen.

‘Her head is up and her long hair is billowing while she wears a cheek-rounded smile that seems to signal she is completely upbeat and cheerful.

‘This is quite extraordinary body language behaviour for a leading royal out “incognito” in public and it suggests a point is, quite naturally, being made in terms of reassuring fans and quashing all the toxic rumours.’

Biographer Phil Dampier told MailOnline that many will be delighted to see Kate is now well enough to leave home.

He said: ‘It’s great that Kate has been seen in public and is obviously on the mend.

‘Lots of people will be relived that she is well enough to go to the farm shop and I expect she will soon be taking her kids to school or out and about during holidays.

‘Like anyone who has been convalescing for a long time after an operation she will be getting bored and would naturally want to resume normal life’.

Kate has now been spotted out and about four times in two weeks when Kensington Palace maintained that she would not be seen in public before Easter after abdominal surgery in January.

It has been reported that she may even return to royal duties by walking to church on Easter Sunday.

The Princess, who made her last public engagement at Sandringham on Christmas Day, is widely expected to return to public duty full time after April 17, when her children start back at Lambrook School, near Ascot, following the Easter Holidays.

There are also claims by some experts that Kensington Palace may soon release a statement updating the public on her health.

The reports of an early return and her Windsor sighting come just a few days after the Princess was pictured in the back of a car alongside Prince William as they left Windsor Castle last Monday.

The Prince of Wales was on his way to Westminster Abbey for the annual Commonwealth Day service while MailOnline understands Kate was headed to a ‘private appointment’.

In recent weeks wild rumours – fuelled by social media and the foreign press – have speculated over the reason why Kate has not been seen, despite the Kensington Palace’s laying out her recovery timeline.

Over the weekend, a source close to the Wales’ said that the couple will disclose more information about Kate’s illness and recovery in due course.

‘In Kate’s case, there is almost nobody else in the world whose face, body, clothes are more judged than hers,’ the insider told The Sunday Times.

‘What is happening is exactly what they said would happen — she would spend two weeks in hospital and be back after Easter. So what if they haven’t pushed her out there to wave from the back of a car? She is not a show pony.’

A friend said the couple are fully aware about the circulating rumours but claimed: ‘They’re not like [Prince] Harry, obsessing and scrolling through Twitter, but they know it has broken through.

‘They follow the news and see the BBC breaking news alerts’.

Kate was admitted to the London Clinic – the private hospital where the King underwent treatment for an enlarged prostate – for planned abdominal surgery.

She left the hospital on January 29 – almost two weeks later – and returned to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.

Details of her condition have not been revealed but Kensington Palace previously said it was not cancer-related and that the Princess wished her personal medical information to remain private.

Another friend said: ‘She and William are at their most open when out interacting with the public. I can see a world in which the Princess might discuss her recovery out on engagements.

‘If she was going to do it, that’s how she would do it. They appreciate the public’s love and affection for their children and know there is a public appetite to see them on their birthdays.’

Kensington Palace has maintained that Kate is ‘doing well’ and will only provide significant updates.
