Western Sydney heavyweight title contender Tai Tuivasa thinks Jon Jones is both ad***head and the greatest MMA fighter to ever set foot in the Octagon.

The Australian heavyweight – who is known for drinking beer out of fans’ shoes after winning fights with his explosive knockout power – also believes he could be the first man to knock out the American.

Jones is considered by many to be the greatest fighter of all time with an almost flawless 27-1-0 record – and some of the greatest achievements in the history of the sport.

And with Jones now lining up to fight in the heavyweight division, Tuivasa believes their paths will cross soon.

‘He [Jones] actually messaged me, which was pretty funny. I must have said I’ll fight him [in an interview] and he’s like, ‘Keep winning, you get your wish’ or something,” Tuivasa said during an appearance on The MMA Hour.

“I don’t know if he was trying to scare me or turn me on, but it was a bit of both.”

Tuivasa shared the benign exchange on his Instagram page.

“You sound crazy,” Tai Tuivasa began. “I think I’d party with you too. Just say but yeah Mary had a little lamb too and I smoked her (smoke and laughing emojis) whatever bra you have when you come back I’m still around you want a warm up lamb roast I’m waiting for you.’

“Good luck with your beer business,” Jones would reply.

“Cheers, I’m sending you some,” Tuivasa objected.

‘I don’t need it, you keep it. LOL. Stop writing.’ Jones replied.

‘Sweet. Stop writing,’ Tuivasa concluded.

Outside of the Octagon, Jones has had many controversial moments, including a hit-and-run conviction that saw him lose a UFC title in 2014, a failed drug test that cost him another title run in 2017, and an arrest in Las Vegas after a domestic incident from 2022.

For these reasons, Tuivasa believes Jones is an ‘ad***head’.

‘Is he ad***head? Yes, I think he is ad***head. And shall I fight him? Yes. Will he fight me? I think he would do that because he’s been fighting against everyone and everyone,” Tuivasa said.

“He’s one of the best he can do, but I’d love to fight him. Not for anything else, just for the same reason that I love fighting all those people who have made a name for themselves.”

Remarkably, Jones’ only professional loss in MMA came via disqualification to Matt Hamill in 2009.

Tuivasa believes he can change that spectacularly by knocking him out.

“If I drink it, I’ll sink it. Think him, I’ll sink him. That’s a fair dinkum, you know what I mean?’ he said.

Tuivasa is currently gearing up to face French star Ciryl Gane on September 3rd in what will be the biggest and toughest period of the Aussie’s career.

He has skyrocketed to the title fight after five consecutive knockout wins and a win over Gane, a former champion, will no doubt give him a shot at heavyweight king Francis Ngannou.
