Fashion fans can visit the huge store in Glasgow Fort tomorrow morning at 10am.

But we got a sneak peek of the inside before the official opening – and can assure shoppers that we’re in for a treat.

The new Primark – the first fresh food store in Scotland in nine years – it’s been a long time coming and from the number of people looking through the windows as we got our tour, it looks like it will be hugely popular.

It is a light, open and airy store with lots of light from the gigantic windows. And it looks beautiful, with the glamorous Rita Ora collection and Christmas knits greeting you as soon as you step through the door.

Also on the ground floor there is a huge section of accessories, underwear and pajamas – which will be a huge hit at Christmas, store bosses believe.

And the festive wear section is packed with glitter and glitz, so shoppers can get ready for any festive occasion.

Meanwhile, this Primark has self-service checkouts, making it only the third store in Scotland to have them. The hope is that this will help avoid customers waiting in long queues in what is likely to be a busy, modern store.

In addition to the technology, the store also shows its commitment to sustainability with a donation box where shoppers can drop off old items clothes – from any brand – to be recycled, with all profits going to Unicef.

Upstairs there is just as much to see with a huge one children section, including all the favorites like comfy basics and Disney pajamas.

And the menswear selection is just as impressive, including basics and the more sophisticated Kem range.

New cozy onesies are arriving at Primark, but shoppers all have the same complaint

Primark’s homewear department company Only launched in 2008, but it has become a firm favourite. This time of year is packed with beautiful, traditional colors and textures, as well as fun Christmas kitchen wear.

The store is completed with a Christmas shop: a one-stop shop for gifts, such as cuddly toys and pajamas.

On opening day, Primark fans will be greeted by a live DJ, who is the party realm.

Primark Area Manager for Scotland West & Cumbria, Gavin O’Reilly, said: “We are delighted that the time has finally come to open our brand new store in Glasgow Fort and I are so proud of all the Primark colleagues involved in this opening.

“It’s a fantastic milestone to mark our 21stst store in Scotland, and we’re proud to have it in Glasgow, especially following strong expectations from local shoppers.

“We know there are many Love for Primark after decades on the Scottish high street. We can’t wait to see what shoppers think of our new store and to bring our customers even more of what they know and love about us, plus a little bit of festive cheer.”

Meanwhile, fellow area manager Malcolm Campbell added: “Although we have been here over the last two to three days setting up shop, many customers have been asking where we are opening, they can’t wait to get in here.

“We had our friends and family last night and that was a really good opportunity for our colleagues to share their mothers, fatherspartner etc.

“I think if last night is anything to go by, tomorrow will be great for the Fort and also for Primark in Scotland.”

Primark opened its doors for the first time in Scotland Hamilton in 1975, which remains in the same location today and remains one of the retailer’s smallest stores in the world.

Since then, the retailer has opened 20 Primark’s across Scotland and this store joins three existing locations in Glasgow including Argyle Street, Sauchiehall Street and The Forge Shopping Centre.

Phil Goodman, director of Glasgow Fort, added: “We know how excited shoppers have been since we announced Primark’s arrival, so it will be great to welcome visitors through the doors tomorrow.

“We are always looking for ways to improve our visitor experience here at Glasgow Fort, especially in the run up to Christmas. Whether you’re looking for the perfect Christmas gift or the latest must-haves for your wardrobe, our new Primark store is a great addition to the wide range of fashion stores already in the centre.”
