Technology for seamless travel: Adani Airports will use Thales' cloud-based platform
Adani Airports will use Thales’ cloud-based platform
NEW DELHI: The operator of multiple airports including those in Mumbai and Ahmedabad – Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) – has collaborated with leading technology player Thales to passenger experience.
As part of this partnership, Thales has already deployed the ‘Fly to Gate’ solution DigiYatra at seven AAHL-managed airports – Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mangaluru and Thiruvananthapuram – since early 2024. Now AAHL has awarded Thales an additional contract to install an “airport operations control center” (APOC) at all its airports to “optimize in general.” airport management and improve the passenger experience in a safe manner.”
APOC is a cloud-based smart digital platform that will centrally host all necessary applications to improve overall airport management, security and passenger experience. This platform collects operational data from integrated airport subsystems and sensors while adhering to privacy standards. This data is then intelligently processed using automation, big data analytics and robust AI algorithms. “The soon-to-be-deployed solution will anticipate and mitigate unplanned resource shortages, increasing predictability and global efficiency,” Thales said in a statement.
“This strategic partnership includes a fully integrated Thales airport solution, based on three pillars: smart airport securitybiometric passenger travel and operational efficiency; appeal to all Adani Airports.
The total solution includes Thales’ Fly to Gate, which will be deployed in early 2024 to provide passengers with contactless access biometric solutions for DigiYatra1 and its APOC, which will soon be established to improve management and security at AAHL airports. Thanks to Thales technologies, AAHL can revolutionize air travel in India by managing complex airport operations efficiently and securely while improving the travel experience for passengers, in full compliance with privacy regulations,” the statement said.
Thales VP and Country Director for India Ashish Saraf said: “We are excited to strengthen our partnership with AAHL to deliver innovative technology solutions that will revolutionize airport operations and the passenger experience in India. Our Fly to Gate biometric solution for DigiYatra and the smart APOC will enable AAHL to streamline its operations and also ensure a safe and simplified journey for millions of passengers. Together we want to support India in its vision to become the world’s largest aviation market by 2047.”
