Teenage girl dies after horrific e-scooter accident in North Queensland

A teenage girl has died after a horrific e-scooter accident in North Queensland.

Police said the 15-year-old girl collided first with a Mitsubishi Pajero and then with a motorcycle at the intersection of Deeragun Road and the Bruce Highway in Deeragun, western Townsville, about 5.15pm on Monday.

Tragically, she died at the scene.

The 65-year-old motorcyclist from Ingham suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries to the spine and internal organs.

The 36-year-old Townsville woman driving the Pajero was not injured.

The Bruce Highway was closed for several hours before reopening.

Police are investigating the incident and anyone with information is urged to contact PoliceLink on 131 444.
