But since sharing the results, the social media user known as @naomilouisewells24has become the target of people who believe she has “no right” to a Nice At home.

The video showed her newly decorated kitchen, which featured wooden floors, new countertops, cabinets, freshly painted walls and tiles.

But a troll commented on her video saying: “I don’t know why I would save for a mortgage, I should have just moved into a free council house.”

Another comment read, “Well my house doesn’t look that nice and I own mine.”

Naomi, who lives with her niece and nephew, says in the video: “I’ve actually had a few comments like that on my videos and unfortunately there’s still a huge stigma attached to people living in social housing.”

She believes the negative comments “almost imply” that those who bought their homes “deserve nicer homes, and those who weren’t so fortunate to get that.”

Naomi continues: “It’s quite sad how bitter people are towards people living in social housing when they hear that improvements have been made to their home.”

The young woman went on to explain that she believes “there will always be people” who believe that people living in social housing “don’t have the right to nice homes.”

I live in social housing and gave my son’s room a makeover for £60… the nicotine walls were transformed with a £15 purchase from B&Q

She wanted to hit back at people who think they should be “grateful” that she lives in a “free house,” and that it “doesn’t matter if our houses fall apart.”

The tenant then asked her 13,800 TikTok followers what they thought of the situation.

She asked: “Do you think it is the responsibility of the council or the housing association to make improvements to the property, or do you think this should be left to the tenant?”

The video received over 470 comments, with many sharing their opinions.

Well, my house doesn’t look as nice as this and I own mine.

One of them sparked a debate by writing: “It’s not that people living in social housing aren’t entitled to nice things, but the fact that you deserve to have things handed to you is what irritates people.”

Then someone added: “They don’t own it. The only reason the council maintains it is so they can have someone in the next day on which the current tenants leave.”

Another added: “I can understand the frustration as I own my apartment. But councils are responsible for the upkeep of their properties and they budget for this.

“Every few years they renovate the kitchens and bathrooms.”

A fourth said: “I think people might be frustrated because they have to work so hard to get a mortgage and then work so hard to build their own home.”

Naomi replied: “People who live in social housing also work hard to make their home their own?”
