Terrorists exchange fire with security forces in Poonch in J&K | India News – Times of India
NEW DELHI: A confrontation broke out between security forces And terrorists in the remote Pathanateer area of Jammu and Kashmir Poonch Officials confirmed it was in the district at 5pm on Saturday night.
The operation was initiated by a joint team of the army and police after intelligence was received about the presence of terrorists in the area, particularly near Gursai Top in Mendhar district, officials said on Sunday.
As the search team approached the suspected location, they came under fire, leading to a gunfight, the official said. The gunfight between the security forces and the militants is still ongoing and additional troops have been deployed to the area.
