Tesla’s Cybertruck Enters Fortnite and Rocket League This Week
Fortnite and Rocket League players will soon have the chance to (virtually) drive a Tesla Cybertruck. Epic Games, the publisher of both games, announced in different social media posts that the games will put Tesla’s controversial truck into production starting July 23.
The Fortnite post included short video a Cybertruck pulling another truck with a metal chain, which we’re pretty sure would invalidate the law the tesla warranty on the vehicle. While Epic Games didn’t specifically mention it in either post, it’s likely that the truck will be available as purchasable, optional content. Some cars in Fortnite have previously up to 4,000 V-bucks, or approximately $32.
Epic Games did not immediately respond to a request for further comment.
Not everyone who saw the announcement was excited about the addition. Gaming site Kotaku said in a headline: “This might be one of the worst things Fortnite has ever done,” while a respondent on X suggested“They should make it so that it rusts and loses health as the match progresses.” In the Rocket League post, another user replied“Not a single person asked for this.”
Since deliveries of the Cybertruck began late last year, the vehicle has been the subject of recalls and some online criticism due to its unusual appearance and issues with its unique metallic finish, which has been the subject of to rust And spotting.
Currently, players on Fortnite have access to the Battle Royale update Cursed sailswith the theme Pirates of the Caribbean.
