The product in question is the Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Cleansing & Toning Lotion.

“This stuff is the holy grail for the skin,” says beautician Emma.

“I have been using it for years and when I stop my skin looks wrinkled, dull and lackluster.

“I initially bought it for blemishes, which it’s fantastic for, but I really believe it has anti-aging properties.”

Tea tree oil has antibacterial properties and is therefore a natural solution against acne.

It helps reduce the bacteria that cause pimples while soothing the irritation, redness and inflammation associated with pimples.

Witch hazel, on the other hand, can tighten the skin and shrink pores.

This gives your complexion a smoother, firmer appearance, making fine lines and wrinkles less visible.

Another 32-year-old customer said the Boots toner has been a godsend for her skincare routine in her 20s.

Overview of Witch Hazel Benefits

Witch hazel, derived from the bark and leaves of the Hamamelis virginiana plant, is widely used in skin care.

While it’s not a miracle cure for wrinkles, it can contribute to overall skin health and help minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Here’s how:

  • astringent: Tightens pores and firms the skin
  • Anti-inflammatory: Reduces redness and irritation
  • Antioxidant: Neutralizes free radicals and protects the skin from damage
  • Oil control: Helps balance oil production, making it beneficial for oily and acne-prone skin

“I’ve been using this for years,” she explained.

“I simply can’t find anything that makes my skin feel so clean and fresh.

“I’ve added a gentler cleanser to my routine as my skin matures, but this one got me through my 20s without a problem.”

A third buyer found the £4.50 Boots toner to be “the best toner for very oily, blemish-prone skin”.

“My skin is a little sensitive, but this toner has never caused any reaction,” she said.

“I have been using this toner for years, but recently it was sold out in my local stores.

“I haven’t used it for a month now (and have tried a few other toners) and have noticed that my pores aren’t nearly as tight. My skin also seems to have more texture as a result.”
