The £6 ‘base’ cream Maya Jama swears by for glowing skin while posing au naturel
MAYA Jama celebrated her 30th birthday last month, but it didn’t show on her skin.
The presenter swears by a cream from Superdrug that she describes as ‘so simple and normal’, but which works ‘wonders’ for her face.
When asked about her skincare routine, Maya shared that her rituals are a mix of luxury and budget options.
“I don’t use a lot of products,” she assured.
“I do get facials.
“I see Shane Cooper once a month and he uses HydraFacial, LED light therapy and this collagen boosting heat device [radiofrequency].”

But when it comes to moisturizers, Maya told British Vogue in an interview that she likes to go back to basics.
“As for cream, I use CeraVe,” she said.
“It’s so obvious and normal, but it does wonders for my skin.
“I think sometimes simpler products help.
“As a night serum, I also douse myself in Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate before bed.”
The CeraVe Moisturising Cream for dry to very dry skin is available for a 50ml tube, starting from £6.
A 177ml tube costs £11.49 and is available from most beauty stores, including Superdrug and Boots.
Clearly, the cream does everything Maya claims: when she posed au naturel on Instagram last night, she saw that her complexion had an enviable glow.
CeraVe bosses said: “CeraVe Moisturising Cream contains three essential ceramides and hyaluronic acid to effectively hydrate skin and protect the skin’s protective barrier.
“Developed in collaboration with dermatologists, this rich yet non-greasy cream is formulated with our patented MVE technology to ensure continuous hydration delivery for up to 24 hours.”

Maya also made her mark in the skincare world when she launched MIJ Masks in 2020.
The company is now defunct after launching impregnated sheet masks and gel eye patches, but the Love Island presenter hasn’t completely ruled out reviving the business.
She still has the brand in her Instagram bio, even though the last post on her account was back in May.
“I also have my own ME masks and I swear by them,” Maya said British Vogue until 2023.
“I use one two or three times a week, depending on how I’m feeling, and I use my eye masks every morning on my way to work.
“It just gives you a little bit of extra hydration and I think it makes makeup last better once you’ve had it on.”
