The 7 poses Vicky Pattison swears by to evolve from party girl to relatable star
SHE sprung onto the celebrity scene back in 2011 and has been a familiar face on our TV screens ever since.
But one thing is certain – Vicky Pattison, 36, has had a mega celebrity transformation.
The Newcastle lass, who was crowned Queen of the I’m A Celebrity jungle back in 2015, has become a household name, primarily thanks to her wild MTV Geordie Shore days.
She rocketed to fame with her signature straight-talking on the show, which also starred Gary Beadle, Charlotte Crosby and Holly Hagan.
Vicky then left the Geordie scene in 2014 and took part in two seasons of explicit dating show Ex On The Beach which constantly hit the headlines for its contestants’ outrageous behaviour.
But after going through a very public break up with her former fiancé John Noble, it appears that a shift began to brew in Vicky’s celebrity status.

The star broke down in tears on screen for her TV show Vicky Pattison: The Break Up, which gave an intimate glimpse into her life in the aftermath of her sudden split, caused by his alleged infidelity.
And now, 13 years after first gracing our TV screens, Vicky, who has a net worth of £5m, has become a super-confident ‘big-sister’ for her 5.5m followers, and arguably, is now one of the most relatable celebs out there.
After the brunette beauty recently revealed that just two months after saying ‘I Do’, she and hubby Ercan Ramadan are sleeping in separate rooms, we take a look at how the reality TV star has evolved – and according to a body language pro, it’s all down to her posing.
Celebrity body language expert Judi James tells Fabulous: “Vicky used to be the girl you’d want on speed-dial for that wild hen party weekend, but now she’s re-branded to become the girl everyone needs in their life to confide in, share your worries with and even share a few tears with when life is not perfect.
“Vicky is still throwing all the sexy celebrity poses but she’s also totally focused on a super-confident ‘big-sister’ narrative of showing the real and hugely relatable girl behind the scenes.
“These powerful looks hold up a mirror to moments in all our lives, whether she’s doing 6am bare-faced and bed-head or sitting slumped in some Spanx waiting for her TV make-over.
“These very honest non-verbal statements are a world away from the normal ‘bare-faced’ celebrity postings too, where stars like the Kardashians use filters and ‘nude’ make-up to look as A-list as ever.
“Vicky just shows it how it is, sending a powerful message of hope and positivity to other women along the way, letting us know that you can be a real human being and still achieve an idyllic lifestyle.”
KEEPING IT REAL
According to Judi, Vicky, who is a regular panellist on Loose Women, has transformed her public persona through her ‘keeping it real’ Instagram poses.
Judi says: “It’s not just the Spanx and the make-up free face here that makes this pose so relatable, it’s the body language Vicky uses as she faces the camera.
“Her cleavage might be fab but this is no cheesy glamour shot.
“Vicky sits slumped in what looks like a chaotic green room, her legs pulled together and a thumbs-up gesture showing she’s one of us at heart.
“Her goofy, asymmetric smile is the perfect signal of ‘take it or leave it’ honesty, showing her levels of determination and stubbornness to show off all the work in progress stages behind the scenes.
“Vicky seems to be the ultimate feminist in these poses, shooting her face upward from some unforgiving angles and even showing off her squidgy belly with pride, showing how determined she is to show that looking good is not all about flattering angles and filters.”
PURE CELEBRATORY CHEESE
In addition to keeping it real on social media, Judi recognises that Vicky’s cheesy grins portray her as grateful, which is a huge hit with fans.
The body language pro adds: “Vicky’s cheesy grins are contagious, they make the viewer grin back and it’s all about her grinning technique.
“This is not a model smile, it’s a partly infantile grin, with her head tilted back and a wide symmetric mouth shape.
“Her chin is pushed forward and her eyes narrowed, showing how she celebrates all the good things in her life on a regular basis rather than taking them for granted.
Vicky Pattison’s Career History
Geordie Shore (2011-2014): Vicky Pattison first gained public attention as a cast member of the MTV reality series. The show, which premiered in 2011, chronicles the lives of a group of young adults living together in Newcastle upon Tyne. Vicky quickly became one of the standout personalities on the show due to her outspoken nature. She remained a key cast member until her departure in 2014.
Ex on the Beach (2014): In 2014, Vicky Pattison joined the first ever season of Ex on the Beach, an MTV reality series that brings together singles and their ex-partners for a dramatic beachside experience. She navigated complicated relationships and explosive confrontations, particularly with her ex-boyfriend, Ricci Guarnaccio, who also appeared on the series. Vicky’s time on the show was marked by her outspoken nature and candid approach to resolving past romantic issues.
I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! (2015): In 2015, Vicky participated in the fifteenth series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, where she emerged as the winner. Her down-to-earth personality and resilience throughout the series won over both viewers and critics, significantly boosting her popularity.
Celebrity MasterChef (2019): Vicky showcased a different side of her personality as she competed in the celebrity cooking competition. She made it to the final after demonstrating her culinary skills, and later joked that her family fell out with her because they “think I’ve been able to cook for years and have just hidden it”.
Loose Women (2015 – 2019): The celeb made appearances as a guest panelist on the show, but later criticised the production team for encouraging her to ‘push’ guests to open up on emotional topics when they were on the verge of tears. Vicky ended up in tears on the chat show herself in 2016, when she participated in an experiment about self image. The star could be seen breaking down as she listened back to a video where she listed all the negative comments she makes to herself in her mind.
This Morning: Made several guest appearances. In one she spoke about being traumatised by her break up with fiancé John Noble, and in another Vicky delved into a personal documentary she made about alcoholism.
Second-Hand Showdown: Vicky currently hosts the fashion show on Channel 4.
“Too many celebrities spend time showing how miserable their lives are despite enjoying lifestyles the rest of us could only dream of.
“Not Vicky though, this poses how much she is one girl who truly counts her blessings.”
THE ‘SAVOURING’ UPWARD GAZE
Not only this, but according to Judi, Vicky’s ‘savouring’ upward gaze poses are key to the reality TV star’s relatable energy.
Judi explains: “Vicky taps into the infantile state again with this pose, looking upward to suggest each mouthful of that pizza she’s holding is creating the same levels of childlike bliss we all experience, with those closed lips that curl upward at the corners and her eyes closed in an expression of pure pleasure.
“It is the lack of cool sophistication here that makes her so relatable.
“Forget the posh setting, Vicky goes mood-first here in an endearing display of ‘soft belly’ pizza-munching honesty.”
SHARING THE LOWS
Similar to her ‘keeping it real’ posing, Judi explains that Vicky’s desire to ‘share the lows’ online further demonstrates her relatability.
Judi recognises that Vicky, who competed in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins in 2021, is not afraid to brand out from the filtered and ‘beautiful’ snaps that many celebrities rely on.
Judi shares: “Vicky won’t be the first celeb to post a teary selfie but she uses it as a message of hope to other women that ‘things will get better’.
There’s no vanity in this pose that even creates a double chin, just relatable honesty as she shares her own low moments
Judi James
“This is no ‘look how beautiful I look when I’m crying’ pic, it’s a very bare-faced Vicky looking red, blotchy-relatable as she also performs a clamped smile of sweet bravado.
“There’s no vanity in this pose that even creates a double chin, just relatable honesty as she shares her own low moments.”
SURREALY STUNNING
But amongst very relatable snaps, Vicky is keen to prove that she is a ‘normal’ girl thriving in the celebrity world.
Judi notes: “Vicky’s end-result make-over shows her determination to share in terms of showing how all those other stages she’s revealed can still produce this kind of total glamour.
“But she shows her tendency to want to ‘do it for the gang’ here rather than alienate or even take herself too seriously.
“Her squared shoulders, parted lips and sensual, heavy-lidded stare at the camera looks haughty and edgy, making it look like a cos-play that she wants to prove a ‘normal’ down-to-earth girl can still win in the world of celebrity.”
PITCHING PEACE
Alongside her stunning snaps, Vicky is eager to reassure and prove her strength to fans, through her ‘pitching peace’ poses.
Judi adds: “Vicky’s V-signs come with a warm, relaxed smile rather than the kind of gurning that would make them more rebellious and rejecting.
“It’s a bonding tie-sign of mutual celebration or reassurance for her fans.
“There’s a hint of some ‘imposter syndrome’ thinking here too, with this ‘ok’ signal suggesting she’s coping despite her demanding lifestyle.”
PARTNERSHIP FACE-OFF
Finally, Judi recognises that Vicky isn’t afraid to step out of her celebrity comfort zone when it comes to her posing.
Where her ‘partnership face-off’ pose is concerned, Judi concludes: “This pose is a very important ‘reveal’ for Vicky as she bares the true nature of her relationship directly to the camera in a way many celebrities would be fearful to do.
“The camera is presumably held by her partner here and that dominates and leads to her response and her facial expression.
“Vicky places one hand under her chin to part-frame her face, too, showing she’s happy to be open and honest here.
“Her expression looks both loving and sexy, which says more than any press releases about the state of her relationship can ever do.”
