An Australian mother who was seriously injured a horrible frontal crash who claimed that her husband and daughter’s life will get stuck India While her surviving child continues to fight for life.

Melbourne Pair of Dass Santiago and Sandra Edward and their two young daughters traveled with other family members to the Velankanni -Christian sanctuary in the southern state of Tamil Nadu on 21 May when the tragedy struck.

The journey was intended as a ‘holy journey’ to visit his sick mother and to commemorate her husband’s older brother, who died in Sydney Last year.

Their van crashed with a bus on a highway, in which six family members died, including Mr Santiago, 45, another brother and his sister -in -law.

“I saw my husband dying before me,” Mrs Edward recalled Gofundme page.

“That image is burned in my mind, a cruel, ruthless torment.

“The crash hardly survive with multiple fractures and life -threatening injuries, I clung to the hope that my children were safe.”

Unfortunately, Mrs. Edward Natasha’s youngest daughter was also killed, weeks last weeks of her sixth birthday next month.

Her remaining daughter Angie has endured two brain operations after the impact had crushed her skull.

Angie stays in a coma while Mrs. Edward also stays in the hospital.

‘How can I ever understand that I will never hold my little angel again? My heart is torn to fragments, she said.

‘I have also undergone two operations and I don’t know if I will ever be the same.

“But I have to live for Angie. She is my reason to fight, my last snip of hope in this inscrutable darkness. ‘

The Gofundme page has collected $ 108,000 within four days.

Mr. Santiago, who worked for Nissan Dandenong, was praised as a loving father and a dedicated husband.

“I need help to bury my beloved Dass and my precious tash,” the widow continued.

“And I need help most urgently to evacuate Angie and myself medically to Australia.”

The family was a member of the St. Kevin’s Catholic parish in Hampton Park, who paid tribute this week

“We offer our deepest condolences to the loved ones of those we have lost, and pray for strength and hope for those who are still fighting through this heartbreaking situation,” the parish placed online.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade confirmed that consular assistance is being provided to an Australian family in India.

‘We send our deepest participation in the family at this difficult time. Because of our privacy obligations, we cannot give any further comments, “they said.

Mrs Edward described how she lived in the ‘deepest valley of despair’ and still remains in the hospital.

Family friend Leon Vieyra told 7News Mrs Edward and her daughter needed access to facilities and support.

“We need better medical facilities to tackle this size they are going through,” he said.

A memorial for Mr. Santiago and Natasha will be held on June 14.
