When was the iPhone 16 launched?

Apple’s iPhone 16 and 16 Pro series were officially in stores September 20. You can now also visit any store that sells the iPhone (such as an Apple Store, BestBuy, or your carrier) and purchase from their available inventory. Use the Apple Store app to select the model, storage and color you want, and you can check availability at your local Apple Store. You will also find offers from all major airlines and we have highlighted the current offers below.

It is not unheard of for popular configurations of colors, models and storage capacities to sell out of available inventory and experience delays. So we recommend that you keep some backup options in mind if you’re determined to buy a new iPhone right away. Or be prepared to wait.

How do iPhone 16 trade-in offers work?

Some carriers are offering up to $1,000 in qualifying trade-ins, which can get you an iPhone 16 Pro for free. An important thing to keep in mind is that most carrier trade-in deals require you to become a customer, and these often apply to the most expensive plan options.

Certain retailers with trade-in programs may offer you gift cards for future purchases instead, so you don’t have to be locked into a contract to take advantage of the savings when you part with your old device. These offers may not offer as many benefits as traditional trade-in offers. Below you’ll find specific information on how much you can expect when you trade in your phone to certain retailers and carriers.
