A new study has dug up the best hidden gems in the country for British and created a hot list of underestimated sights.
The investigation looked at the number of reviews, tourist traffic by monument and the costs of public transport to make the list.
So where are the best hidden gems of the UK?
According to the study, the Wasdale Emerald Pool in Cumbria is the best hidden gem in the country.
Sometimes known as the ‘Fairy Pool’, the picturesque spot is formed by various small waterfalls and has a bright green color.
Next on the list are the Birmingham Back to Backs. A museum that is managed by the National Trust, the back-to-backs are the last surviving back-to-back houses of the city.
Built around a common courtyard, the houses were occupied from around 1840 to the 1970s.

While they explore the historic houses, tourists will get a look at what it was like to live there in recent decades. The Back -To -Backs are only accessible via a tour, so that tourists have to book their tickets in advance.

The National Trust reveals: ‘Seeing the tumbling architecture of Little Moreton Hall for the first time, engineers in 1990 could not believe their eyes.
“This wood building has been curled with a picturesque canal, has had logic for more than 500 years.”

Bletchley Park in Milton Keynes, the Royal Yacht Britannia in Edinburgh and Samlesbury Hall in Lancashire are also among the top 10 hidden gems in the country.
Corin Camenisch, marketing and growth earser at Sumup, who ordered the research, says: ‘We made this ranking to bring some of the hidden gems in the UK to the attention, places that are often overlooked for the usual tourist places such as the London Eye or Buckingham Palace.
‘By emphasizing these underestimated hotspots, we hope to show people they may not know and spread the benefits of local tourism.
“These hidden gems often rely on tourism to support their activities, and by shining a light on it, we hope to ensure that local companies can benefit from a steady stream of visitors, which is crucial for their growth and success in the long term.”
