There are plenty of AirPods deals to be found for the 2019 AirPods, which had a launch price of $159 / £159 / AU$249. But thanks to the release of the AirPods 3, you can regularly find discounts on the 2nd-generation AirPods, dropping as low as $99 / £99 / AU$99.
While the AirPods 2 don’t have noise cancellation, the 2nd-gen earbuds do feature Apple’s H1 chip to deliver quality sound and faster pairing with seamless connectivity. Apple claims that the AirPods Max bring the magic of AirPods to an over-ear design, which means you get Active Noise Cancellation, powerful H1 chips, and an improved audio experience.

How much do AirPods cost?
The official price of the AirPods is $159 in the US, £159 in the UK and $249 in Australia. So you shouldn’t have to pay more. Although we have seen some retailers brutally hike the price when stock runs out. If you’re after the version with the wireless charging case, then prices shoot up to around $199 in the US, £199 in the UK.
Expect to see the usual retail outlets selling closer to the suggested retail price, and better yet, possibly below it during key shopping seasons. Let’s hope we don’t have to wait too long for actual Apple AirPod sales!

What about the original Apple AirPods from 2016?
These models have now been discontinued and phased out at most stores. In the rare cases where we do come across unused stock units, they are actually the same price as the new and improved 2019 versions.
Short version: buy the 2019 models using one of the deals in the comparison chart above. To make sure they Are the new devices, look for the H1 chip and hands-free Siri functionality in the description if the title doesn’t say something along the lines of ‘2019’ or ‘latest version’.
Should I wait for a cheaper AirPods deal?
You might have to wait a little longer for some seriously big discounts. Last year around Black Friday we saw $20 discounts sell out in minutes, and it was one of the most popular deals we highlighted in our extensive roundups of the hottest deals. We saw similar discounts in the UK too – much better than last year’s $7 discount, but there are still no flash sales at the moment.
Actually, things have been better overall this year, although there are much better deals available in several regions. We regularly see $15/£20 discounts outside of peak season discounts, so you should be able to beat the recommended asking price honestly.
