The chilling moment killer is caught pretending to be someone else as she is arrested for her role in the brutal machete murder
This is the chilling moment a killer was caught on camera pretending to be someone else as she was arrested for her role as a honeycomb in a brutal machete murder.
Rebecca Moore, 25, claimed to be ‘Lauren Smith’ when she was cornered by police over the murder of Sacad Ali, who was hacked to death with machetes.
But her cover was blown when they identified her from a photo and she whimpered “no, no, no” as she was handcuffed by police.
She had lured Mr Ali to a park to offer him sex and promise to buy crack cocaine from him before he was brutally attacked in an ongoing drug feud.
Ali, 24, was playing video games and relaxing at a friend’s flat in the Netherthorpe area of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, on March 9 this year when the sex worker called and convinced him to leave the flat and give her meet at Ponderosa Park.
Her two accomplices, Barney Griffin and Jack Douglas, who ran a drugs line in Sheffield and were aged 17 and 16 respectively, then emerged from the darkness to ambush Mr Ali before stabbing him 16 times with a machete as he begged them to stop their brutal attack.
They then fled the scene, leaving him to suffer his injuries.
Rebecca Moore was heard in body-worn footage shouting ‘no, no, no’ as she was handcuffed by police
In footage released by police on March 12, before she was arrested by officers, Moore lied about her name and age to try to avoid justice.
It can be seen as the officer involved waited for a photo of Moore to be sent to his phone to confirm her identity
Despite the efforts of paramedics, Mr Ali died in Ponderosa Park shortly after 5am, prompting a murder investigation.
Chief Inspector Ben Wood of South Yorkshire Police said police then quickly surrounded the park.
Moore had now been found guilty of Ali’s murder on November 11, following a 16-day trial at Sheffield Crown Court.
Griffin, 18, and Douglas, 17, had already pleaded guilty to murder and possession of a bladed article.
DCI Wood said: “After our officers arrived at Ponderosa Park, they immediately secured a large scene to preserve any evidence before beginning to gather witness statements from as many people as possible who were in the area at the time.
“They provided physical descriptions of the attackers, including details of the clothing they were wearing, with us seizing matching clothing from Griffin’s home following his arrest.
‘Forensics was also crucial as blood recovered near Oxford Street matched that of Griffin. CCTV also proved crucial as it allowed us to track the movements of those involved and implicated Moore, Griffin and Douglas as the people involved in Sacad’s murder.”
Yesterday, More and Douglas were sentenced to a minimum of 15 years in prison, while Griffin was jailed for a minimum of 16 years.
In the footage released by police on March 12, Moore lies to police about her name and age in an attempt to avoid justice.

From left to right: Barney Griffin, Rebecca Moore and Jack Douglas have now been convicted following the brutal murder of Sacad Ali
After the hearing, Sacad Ali’s heartbroken family said it felt as if his death had taken “the light from our lives.”
As the net closed in on Griffin and Douglas, they turned themselves over to police that morning.
During yesterday’s sentencing, a judge lifted restrictions banning identification of Douglas.
Griffin and Douglas turned themselves in to police on March 12, while Moore was arrested later that day.
Judge Richardson said: ‘If there was ever a case that showed the double evil of selling drugs and carrying knives, especially young people carrying knives, it is this one.
“This case shows what can happen when young people become involved in the drug trade and a drug war breaks out.”
After the hearing, Ali’s heartbroken family said it felt as if his death had taken “the light from our lives.”
They said: “Sacad was a loving son and brother who was loved by all his family. He was the heart of our family and was always happy and smiling.
‘Anyone who knew Sacad knew how positive and happy he was. It feels like all the light has been taken from our lives.
‘Our lives have been completely destroyed by what happened, and we will never be able to forget it.
‘We would like to thank everyone who helped Sacad and who came forward to assist the police.
A police cordon was set up at the scene of the stabbing in the Netherthorpe area of Sheffield.

Several police vehicles were present at the scene of the stabbing
‘We would also like to thank DCI Ben Wood, DC Lisa Glover, DC Karen Edge and all the officers involved in the investigation.’
DCI Wood said: “I know today’s sentencing will not bring Sacad back, but I hope this gives his family, friends, loved ones and all who knew him some closure as they try to rebuild their lives and recover from the grief that has been done to them.
‘The two teenagers barbarically murdered Sacad, with Moore also killing him by tricking him into meeting and luring him to where he would be brutally attacked.
‘Rather than admit her guilt, Moore made Sacad’s loved ones relive the events of the day he died by putting them through a court trial, after which she was found guilty of murder.
“A lot of exemplary detective and police work has gone into this murder investigation and today’s outcome is testament to the hard work of everyone in this tragic case.
