Matt Smith put on a lively show on Thursday as he took a stroll in New York City before appearing on NBC’s The Today Show.

The actor, who previously played Prince Phillip in Netflix’s The Crown, opted for a navy blue patterned shirt and dark jeans for the outing.

And during his appearance on the talk show, the 39-year-old revealed that Prince Harry reviewed his work on The Crown and even greeted him as “Grandpa” when they met.

The actor shielded his eyes with sunglasses and added a pair of Airpods while clinging to a book.

And during the daytime interview, Matt recalled an interaction he had with Prince Harry when they crossed paths during a polo match.

He shared that the royal family indicated that he was a viewer of The Crown, in which Matt played the role of Harry’s grandfather, Prince Phillip, for the first two seasons.

“He walked up to me, and he went ‘Grandpa,'” Matt said.

“He saw the broadcast. I can’t claim to know he’s watching it right now, but he’s watched a little of it.’

The Crown follows the British monarchy and the long reign of Queen Elizabeth II over a number of decades, starting from the late 1940s – with a fictional twist.

And Matt says he “fell in love with Phillip” while filming the show’s first two seasons.
