Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence is expected to hit mobile devices later this year, but we don’t have an exact release date or even a tighter release window than the entire year yet. Luckily, we still have a few trailers to dissect before release, so there’s still a decent amount of information to sink our teeth into.
With the latest trailer also being shown as part of a Ubisoft Forward event, there’s no better time to start investigating why The revival of the division one of the games you are most looking forward to.
Here’s everything we know about what could be one of the best Android games of recent years. From the latest news to information on what to expect from the gameplay, let’s take a look at what’s been said about The revival of the division so far.

- What is it? A free to play third-person shooter RPG game for your mobile
- When can I play it? To be defined

The Division Resurgence platforms
The revival of the division will be released exclusively on Android and iOS devices, which will shake things up quite a bit from the previous version The Division games that have been released on console and PC, but offer a new story alongside the new platform. Additionally, the game is completely free to play on mobile devices. If the release is as streamlined as we expect, it could be a huge hit on mobile.
There’s currently no indication that the game will eventually release on PC or home consoles. However, based on our assumption that the game appears to be developed exclusively for mobile devices at this point, we don’t think there are any plans for the game to ever come out of mobile exclusivity.
The Story and Setting of The Division Resurgence
The revival of the division promises a new storyline based on the previous two Division games, while retaining the familiar setting from the first game. The revival of the division places you in the position of joining the first batch of agents of the Strategic Homeland Division, amid a virus outbreak in New York City.
New York is the setting of the game, where you must defend the metropolitan area against waves of enemies and criminal gangs, and complete missions to explore the area.
There will be a variety of PVE missions on offer, both as part of the main campaign and unique side missions to help you explore the world outside of your New York City placement. We’ve yet to learn what these missions specifically entail, but we do know that the post-apocalyptic setting is home to a plethora of hostile enemies that you can expect to encounter during your time with the title.
The gameplay of The Division Resurgence
In terms of gameplay, we still have limited knowledge of what to expect from the game. The revival of the division as a whole. We got a brief three-minute look at the in-game content, but aside from using a minimap to track a mission, a brief look at how combat plays, and a look at the new compact UI designed specifically for mobile play, there’s still a lot to learn.
Even The revival of the division will be released on a new platform for the franchise, you can expect the game to play in the same style as the previous one Division games. In between exciting battles and completing missions, you can work your way through a skill tree, in addition to discovering what the new classes have to offer and how you can use them during your time in revival.
Each class or specialization has a unique skill tree. Whether you’re more of a forward or prefer using explosives to take someone down quickly and easily, you’ll want to focus on improving your own skills to help out teammates and advance through side missions and the campaign.
Additionally, the time it takes to complete central and side missions has been reduced, allowing you to play in short bursts while on the go, ideal for any mobile gamer. Despite these missions being significantly shorter in completion time compared to The division And The Division 2doesn’t mean they aren’t detailed.
You can expect your skills to be tested in each mission, whether that’s through a grab-and-go mission or something more hands-on with the enemies. Looting and crafting are also emphasized as an integral part of the game, as it’s the core mechanic for upgrading your weapons and gear.
