The emerging baby names that will be the most popular in 2025 and the trends driving them
CELEBRITIES will drive baby name trends more than ever in 2025, an expert has revealed.
Nicknames of our favorite celebrities or their children inspire millions of new parents around the world, says baby name consultant Colleen Slagen.
“Some of the trends I’m seeing now and that I expect to see more of in 2025 are short and effortless names for both boys and girls,” she adds.
George will be the most common boy’s name, Colleen predicts.
This name is shared by the future king, Prince George of Wales, and a plethora of A Listers, including George Clooney and the late George Michael.
The name Beckham (the surname of the Posh and Becks dynasty) will also be popular among baby boys next year.
“The number of surnames for both genders will increase,” says Colleen.
And after the birth of Kourtney Kardashian’s fourth child, whom she shares with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, Rocky will be a favorite boy’s name this year in 2025.
“Many celebrities are still leading the way with their more unusual choices,” Colleen explains
“I think it contributes to the rise of what I call Merriam-Webster names: nouns and adjectives being adopted as baby names.
“TV shows can also have a huge impact on names.
“Yellowstone led the rise of cowboy names like Kayce, Tate and Dutton, and Bridgerton expanded the chic and regal-sounding names like Daphne and Florence.”
Topping the girls’ list for 2025 is Margot – a name popularized in Britain by Barbie star Margot Robbie and shared by Billie Faiers’ youngest child.
The name Billie will also be a popular girl’s name next year.
“I used to get a lot of requests for gender-neutral names that sounded feminine,” says Colleen.
“Now, however, I am receiving more and more requests for real ‘boy names’ for girls.

The predictions come after baby clothing store JoJo Maman Bébé found that a whopping 28% ruled out common baby names, while 18% rejected names that were too unusual.
Interestingly, 36% of British parents changed their child’s name when they saw it, and 37% chose a name that was easy to spell and pronounce.
