The Horrifying Horror Movie You Need to See Right Now

In a Violent Nature flips the script on the slasher subgenre. Written and directed by Chris Nash, the film follows Johnny, a vengeful corpse, as he hunts down a group of unsuspecting teenagers who steal a medallion from his unmarked tomb.

Paying homage to Jason Voorhees and other iconic slasher characters in the horror world, In a Violent Nature follows a familiar story. It flips it on its head, fixing the perspective from the killer’s bloody POV rather than his victims. The result is an inventive take on the genre that reportedly scared audiences to death make a theatergoer sick during an early screening.

As a horror fan, I didn’t find the film nauseating. There are a few mind-boggling murder scenes in the film that had me screaming hysterically at the screen. What I’m saying is, maybe you should hit pause and go for a walk.

The low-budget indie film grossed over $4 million in the US, prompting IFC Films and Shudder to announce a sequel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

In a Violent Nature stars Ryan Barrett as Johnny, Charlotte Creaghan as Aurora, Andrea Pavlovic as Kris, Lea Rose Sebastianis as Brodie, Cameron Love as Colt, Liam Leone as Troy, Lauren-Marie Taylor as The Woman, Reece Presley as The Ranger, Sam Roulston as Ehren, Timothy Paul McCarthy as Chuck and Alexander Oliver as Evan.

Just in time for the horror season, the runaway slasher hit is now available to stream. Can you handle it? Scroll on to find out where and when to stream In a Violent Nature, plus how a VPN can help.

You can register for Rills as a standalone subscription for $7 per month, and it comes with a 7-day free trial. It’s also included as part of the AMC Plus five-channel package, which costs $9, and Shudder is a Prime Video add-on channel that costs $7 a month. If you already have the AMC-plus streaming app, full access to Shudder is included.

We recommend downloading the Shudder app directly to your mobile device, FireTV device, or smart TV.

How to Watch In a Violent Nature with a VPN

Maybe you’re traveling abroad and want to stream Shudder while you’re away from home. With a VPN, you can virtually change your location on your phone, tablet, or laptop to access the movie from anywhere in the world. There are other great reasons to use a VPN for streaming, too.

A VPN is the best way to prevent your ISP from throttling your speed by encrypting your traffic. Using a VPN is also a good idea if you’re traveling and connected to a Wi-Fi network and want to add an extra layer of privacy to your devices and logins. Streaming TV can be a lot smoother with a reliable, quality VPN that has passed our testing and security standards.

You can use a VPN to stream content legally, as long as VPNs are allowed in your country and you have a valid subscription to the streaming service you’re using. The US and Canada are among the countries where VPNs are legal, but we don’t recommend streaming or downloading content from illegal torrent sites. We recommend ExpressVPN, but you can also opt for another provider from our best list, such as Surfshark or NordVPN.

If you’re looking for a secure and reliable VPN, our Editors’ Choice is ExpressVPN. It’s fast, works on multiple devices, and offers stable streams. It normally costs $13 per month, but it currently generally costs less to go for a 12-month plan, where each month shakes out to $8.32.

ExpressVPN offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. Read our ExpressVPN review.

Follow the VPN provider’s instructions for installation and choose a country where your favorite movie is streaming on Shudder. Before you open the streaming app, make sure that you are connected to your VPN via your selected region. If you want to stream In a Violent Nature on more than one device, you may need to configure each device to make sure you are logged in. Go to settings and check your network connections to verify that you are logged in and connected to your VPN account. Now you are ready to open the service for streaming.

If you’re having issues streaming, first check that your VPN is active on the encrypted IP address. Double check that you followed the setup instructions correctly and that you’ve chosen the correct geographic area to watch from. If you’re still having issues connecting, you may need to restart your device. Close all apps and windows, restart your device, and connect to your VPN first. Please note that some streaming services have restrictions on VPN access.
