The Inkey List has launched tinted lip balms and they saved my dry lips

DESPITE the fact that the sun doesn’t always shine, the pollen concentration is unprecedentedly high this summer. That has its effects on my skin.

My hands are dry, my eczema is flaring up and my lips are chapped, but I have found a lifesaver for the summer.

When Inkey List launched the clear Tripeptide Plumping Lip Balm earlier this year, it was better than I ever expected.

Hydrating, smoothing and instantly soothing, it has all the properties of a great lip balm, plus the added benefit of a gentle, gradual volumizing action.

The product is based on a tripeptide complex and hydrates, fills and defines the lips. In just four weeks, they become up to 40% fuller. The product went viral because it lived up to its promises.

But now the brand has launched a successor, and it’s even better.

A few weeks ago, the Awesome The beauty team received one of the most exciting emails we’ve received in a while.

“The Inkey List is releasing tinted lip balms!” I exclaimed, causing an immediate wave of excitement to sweep through the office.

So this month, the skincare brand launched three new tinted Tripeptide Plumping Lip Balms — and I was one of the first to try them out.

This lip balm is buttery soft, non-sticky and lightly tinted. Real does it all.

Thanks to its deep red, wine-red formula, it creates a natural ‘bitten lip’ look, without compromising hydration.

Once applied, the balm feels light and non-sticky, so you can also dab it onto your cheeks for a quick and easy cleanse.

While I love the deep red color, I do have a tendency to pill in the corners of my lips, which means I have to blend the color with my fingers after application.

Reminiscent of a milky latte, this beige balm is (almost) the perfect nude shade.

This is probably my favorite new lip tint. You can build the formula from a subtle balm to a glossy gloss.

Although the formula has a slightly chemical, clinical scent, it absorbs instantly into dry skin, plumping and hydrating chapped and cracked lips.

The texture of the balm is similar to that of a lip balm, so you can even apply it over your favorite lipstick for a fuller, hydrated mouth.

You can reapply the formula up to three times a day, but honestly, one application in the morning is enough to keep my lips looking beautiful all day long.

Although this cotton candy pink balm looks intimidating in the tube, it’s actually quite flattering.

When applied to the lips, it creates a cherry pink, glossy finish that blurs lines and imperfections.

The unique formula with 2% Ultra Filling Spheres hydrates the lips and retains moisture. This protects them from drying out due to air conditioning, wind and rain.

I’ve been using the lip balms for a little over a month now and I definitely notice a difference.

Although my lips aren’t dramatically fuller or plumper, I do notice that my bottom lip is more prominent.

So I hope that my upper lip will soon be back to normal!
