With Evans no longer in the club, United will take the next campaign without a player who played during the regime of Sir Alex Ferguson in the club for the first time since 1974.
After impressing scouts while playing for his local side Greenisland, Evans started training with United’s Academy as a youth before he signed up for the club after moving to Manchester.
Evans’ First taste of senior football came on loan on the Belgian side Royal Antwerp during the 2006-07 campaign where he was accompanied by colleague United Starlets Fraizer Campbell and Danny Simpson.
A short loan in the championship with Sunderland followed before Evans returned to Old Trafford.
During that time, the young defender played in two early round matches of the Champions League campaign of 2007-08 Die United Triumph and became the first northern Irish of the club to get a winner’s medal since George Best in 1968.
With the defense of United anchored by the incomparable combination of Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand the moment Evans continued to struggle for the first team minutes and went on loan to Sunderland again.

Leicester would win the FA Cup in 2021, but Evans was moving again when the club was relegated to the championship two years later.
Upon his return to United Evans it was expected that it would serve as a peripheral figure in the team, who offered defensive coverage and pass on his experience to the harvest of young talent.
However, Evans saw a whole series of injuries make 30 performances in all competitions under the then Boss Erik ten Hag and he appeared as a second half when United beat Bitter Rivals Man City last year in the FA Cup final.
The arrival of Matthijs de Ligt saw Evans push further in the pecking order in United this season, but he still managed seven league games.
In his last competitive performance for the club, Evans appeared as a late replacement when United Aston Villa defeated on the last day of the season.
