Netflix has confirmed that it will contain ten episodes Lincoln’s Advocate season 3 and they’re all arriving at the same time on October 17th. That’s a very quick turnaround considering that Lincoln’s Advocate Season 2 didn’t end until August.
The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3 Cast
This is who we expect to see again in Lincoln’s Advocate season 3:
- Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller
- Neve Campbell as Maggie McPherson
- Becky Newton as Lorna Crane
- Angus Simpson as Cisco
- Jazz Raycole as Izzy Letts
- Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Raymond Griggs

It’s not yet clear which other supporting actors will return, but one person who will not be returning in a major role is Gloria Days, who was played by Fiona Rene.
Gloria was found dead in the season 2 finale, presumably murdered by an unknown criminal. That said, Rene could return in flashback sequences in the third season.
Another potential candidate who has been pegged to appear is Devon Graye, who played Julian La Cosse in the Season 2 finale. La Cosse was framed for Gloria’s murder, so he’ll definitely feature prominently next time around.

- Merrin Dungey (The Resident, Big little lies) as Judge Regina Turner

- Philip Anthony-Rodriguez (Grimm, The company you keep) as Adam Suarez
The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3 Plot
Full spoilers for Season 2 of The Lincoln Lawyer follow below.
There is no short story for Lincoln’s Advocate season 3 not yet. But according to Netflixwe know that it will be based on the book The Gods of Guilt, the fifth book in Michael Connelly’s book series.
Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, who plays Mickey Haller, told Netflix’s Tudum: “This season is very exciting […] We see Mickey struggling with so many things at once – with romance, with the women, with the business. You never expect what’s going to happen, who’s going to be bad and who’s going to be guilty.”
Showrunners Dailyn Rodriguez and Ted Humphrey also gave away a few interesting details, revealing that there will be a flashback scene that will explain more about “how Mickey Haller became Mickey Haller — not just the brilliant criminal defense attorney, but the husband, the father and the man he would become.”
We can also look back at where Season 2 left things to gain insight into what to expect Lincoln’s Advocate season 3.
The previous season was based on Connolly’s novel The Fifth Witness (the first season was based on The Brass Verdict), which revolved around the murder of real estate developer Mitchell Bondurant.
Mickey becomes romantically involved with a chef named Lisa, against whom Bondurant took out a restraining order when Lisa refused to move from her property that he wanted to take over. When Bondurant is found dead, Lisa is charged with his murder – and Mickey agrees to take on her case.
Bondurant, who was 6’2″, was killed by a hammer blow from behind, with the weapon hitting his head. Mickey and Lorna claim that Lisa could not have physically killed him, and Bondurant’s ties to the criminal underworld have been suggested as other possible suspects.
Lisa claimed that her ex-husband Jeff had taken the murder weapon, but when Mickey spoke to him, Jeff said he wouldn’t testify. Instead, Mickey turns to Bondurant’s shady contractor Alex Grant, who he assumes will invoke the Fifth Amendment—his right not to answer questions—on the stand. Alex does so, making himself look suspicious to the jurors.
As we find out, Lisa is acquitted, but Mickey later realizes that she lied to him and convinced a waiter at her restaurant to pose as her ex-husband. It turns out – spoiler alert – that this is because she is guilty of murdering someone: Jeff. In short: Lisa is arrested for another murder after Lorna calls the police. Mickey, who made amends with Lisa after her trial, leaves dejected.
Considering that Mickey was tricked into thinking they weren’t guilty by season one’s accused, Trevor Elliot, Mickey might not be the hotshot lawyer he thinks he is. However, all that takes a back seat when Mickey is called to account for another murder of someone personal to him.
Izzy calls him about a new client named Julian La Cosse and Mickey goes to the latter in his cell after he is charged with someone’s murder. La Cosse tells Mickey that he comes highly recommended by their mutual friend Giselle Dallinger – who La Cosse allegedly murdered – and that he needs Mickey’s help to clean up his act.
Confused, Mickey goes to the morgue to check on the body of the deceased. There is a shock when Mickey realizes that Giselle Dallinger is none other than a recurring character in the series: Gloria Dayton, aka Gloria Days, the sex worker and a client of Mickey’s.
Remember when Gloria moved to Hawaii earlier in the season? If you don’t, the show flashes back to the postcard Mickey got from her that says, “You’re the only thing I miss about L.A. Be well, Gloria.” We also see one of Mickey’s memories of Gloria, where she says her mother lived there and she would spend a lot of time with her. And there we have our next murder mystery, which might set up nicely for Season 3.
Lincoln Lawyer Season 3 Trailer: Is There One?
Even though we know when it lands, there’s no trailer for it Lincoln’s Advocate season 3 yet. But we won’t have long to wait. We should get one about a month before the release date and, possibly, during Netflix Geeked Week in mid-September.
What’s next for The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix?
If the upcoming third season of Lincoln’s Advocate performs as well as its predecessors, we expect more entries to be greenlit by the global best streaming service.
Whether future seasons will be split into two parts, we don’t have a definitive answer to that either. We know that all ten episodes of season 3 will be released at once. But that doesn’t mean that it will always be that way.
Speaking with Movie phone Speaking about the decision to take a short mid-season break in Season 2, showrunner Ted Humphreys said, “It wasn’t a decision we made ourselves. It’s something that Netflix does with a number of their shows, particularly I think some of their bigger, more successful shows. They’ve done it with Stranger ThingS. They did that with Ozark. They’ve done it with a lot of shows. It was something they kind of played around with and decided, ‘We’re going to try to do it here.’
“So, it wasn’t really a creative choice by the producers of the show, but at the same time, it was something that we could live with and we had a natural organic cliffhanger that came halfway through the story to build up to, so we didn’t have to just shove that in there. It was already going to be there. It worked really well. It gave us a natural place to split the season without having to do anything artificial to make it happen.” In short: file that particular query under ‘TBA’ for now.
