How does it work?

Various airlines now offer ‘neighbor -free’ seating options. Include QantasSrilankan Airlines, Etihad Airways, Lufthansa and Philippine Airlines.

The rules differ slightly for each airline, but the starting point is the same: by reserving the extra seats next to you, the entire row can be yours for the length of your journey.

Etihad Airways

As the London explained in London explains Maddie Borge, Etihad Airways leaves for those who want extra space and comfort, for that extra space and comfort on a maximum of three extra empty seats next to the booked chair.

If you win, the extra seats remain the entire length of your journey for free, so you get the whole row for yourself.

The bid process starts until 35 hours before the flight leaves, starting at $ 45 for one chair and $ 90 for two.

Etihad uses its own sliding scale, or ‘bid meter’ to determine the chance that the bet will win, with a proposed target of around $ 65

However, other contributing factors include flight occupation and demand. Bids are only accepted if the struggle has seats available and customers are not charged if the bid has not been successful.

Qantas

If your Qantas flight has enough empty seats available and you are booked in Economy Class without accompanying minors, you will be invited to buy extra seats in your row 24-48 hours before flying.

For domestic flights, prices vary between $ 30 and $ 65. For international trips you pay from $ 45.

If the seats are occupied, the customer will be repaid the price of these extra places.

Srilankan Airlines

Neighboring chairs are offered to all passengers with Economy Class tickets on Srilankan Airlines.

Between 48 and 4 hours before departure, passengers are told via e -mail if these seats are available.

The price of these seats varies based on the route and the flight demand, but passengers have reported that they pay around £ 50 for the extra comfort.

Filipino airlines

All economic passengers who fly with Filipino airlines can book a maximum of three adjacent seats, depending on the plane.
