Everyone likes the idea of discovering the next large beach, but new research reveals that some of the most viral bays in the world may not meet the Buzz.
While stunning Instagram photos and Tap Clips can paint an image-perfect paradise, the reality for many travelers is much less idyllic, with overcrowding, bad weather and blown expectations often disappointed, so that visitors are disappointed.
A recent study of Ibiza Summervillas Has more than 100 of the world’s most popular beaches arranged and reveals exactly which beaches most likely disappoint – and what everything they promise, and more.
Researchers analyzed thousands of traveler reviews, Tiktok Virality, Google Search trends and environmental data such as annual rainfall, to discover where the biggest gap exists between expectations and reality.
To guarantee accuracy, the study only included beaches with at least 1,000 publicly available assessments.
The percentage of negative assessments – in particular those with terms such as ‘overestimated’ or ‘disappointing’ were then weighed against the popularity of each beach.
