‘The Muslim League divided the society, now the Samajwadi Party is doing the same’: UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s major attack on Akhilesh Yadav | India News – Times of India
“The Muslim League which laid the foundation for the partition of India in 1906 was formed in Aligarh itself… Aligarh did not let them do that, but their intentions to divide society on a communal basis were successful… The same work that the Muslim League did then, is now being done by Samajwadi Party… their intentions must not succeed,” ANI quoted Yogi Adityanath at a public meeting in Aligarh.
UP CM Yogi’s statement is expected to create political tension given the historical significance of the Muslim League in the partition of India. The Samajwadi Party has not yet responded to these allegations.
The chief minister criticized both the Congress and the Samajwadi Party, saying their governance failed to protect daughters and businessmen. He highlighted the achievements of the BJP’s twin-engine government, particularly mentioning the construction of Ayodhya Ram Mandir.
He stated, “I want to question the Congress and the Samajwadi Party, who have always discriminated and looted the jobs that were meant to be provided to the youth. They looted poor people for their rights. Daughters and businessmen were not safe. It took 500 years to Neem Ayodhya Ram Mandir. Only the double-engine government of the BJP could do this.”
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of unity for security. “Earlier we faced insults in Ayodhya because we got divided. We had to face insults in Mathura and Kashi because we got divided. Batenge toh katenge, (we will be cut off if we get divided) Ek rahenge, safe rahenge (we will stay safe if we stay united). I guarantee you all in terms of development and security.”
BJP MP Kangana Ranaut endorsed CM Yogi Adityanath’s slogan “Batenge to Katenge” and interpreted it as a message of unity. She said: “This is a call for unity. We have been taught from childhood that unity is strength. When we are together, we are safe and when we become divided, we are cut off… Our party is a Sanatani Party .Our party wants to unite even the PoK and the opposition’s conspiracy to sow division is not successful…’
This political discourse comes ahead of the upcoming by-elections in Uttar Pradesh, scheduled for November 20, the results of which will be declared on November 23, with the BJP aiming to strengthen its position in nine constituencies.
