- This includes video -summary and analysis tools

Google Drive has revealed something New Gemini-driven functionsBut worries have already been discussed about possible security and privacy issues.
Previously only able to read long documents (and probably miss the most important information), the cloud storage Platform will now benefit from summaries of video files and full content analysis, which can really be useful for missed meetings that would otherwise take a long time to catch up.
That said, this comes with risks, as with all chatbots, there must be a serious level of trust in the AI model, because performing these tasks requires access to potentially sensitive information and files – including the inner secrets of your company.
Privacy problems
The tool relies on the automatically generated captions from Google and is accessible via the Gemini overlay in Drive – so make sure they are enabled if you want to use these functions.
This function is primarily aimed at professionals (if you want Gemini to summarize and explain valuable family memories, then there are much larger problems in the game) – but the relocation means that you would give Gemini access to potentially sensitive company information – of recordings of board meetings or business strategy meetings.
In 2024, the Gemini AI platform was accused of scanning Google Drive files without the permission of the usersWhat serious concern about the treatment of user data and privacy settings by Google.
However, that is not all, since Google has announced a new function to help users to measure the involvement on videos that have been uploaded to Google Drive, a “highly requested” tool that strives to give users a better understanding of their video analysis.
So far there is no administrator check available for this function -and this will be available for all Google workroom customers, as well as the individual subscribers of Google Workspace and personal Google -Account holders.
