Chuwi, a company that is better known for budget devices than flagship powerhouses, has unveiled its latest effort to break into the high-performance segment: the Gamebook 9955HX.
Promoted as a laptop for codergamers and professional makers, this new model is powered by the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX processor, a Zen 5-based chip with 16 cores and 32 threads, with a boost frequency up to 5.4 GHz. It also contains a large 64 MB L3 cache and a configurable TDP that can peak around 55 W.
From the moment of writing, the price of the device will not be disclosed – given the history of Chuwi about the undermining of larger brands, it is reasonable to expect MSI Or Asus.
Chuwi Gamebook 9955HX
For images, the GameBook integrates 9955HX de Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti -Laptop GPU, based on the latest Blackwell RTX architecture, which makes it Well suited for video editing and graphic intensive tasks.
The GPU offers 12 GB GDDR7 VRAM, a 140W TGP, and supports functions such as Full Ray Tracing, DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation.
Chuwi says that this setup up to 191 FPS can deliver in 1440p gaming with Ray Tracing enabled, and 149 fps on 4kPlace it firmly in the Performance Laptop category.
For makers who work with AI-accelerated tools, advanced 3D rendering or video post production, this can be a top candidate, provided that the cooling system and thermal management are the task.
The display is a 16-inch 2.5k IPS panel with a refresh rate of 300Hz, 100% SRGB color coverage and an aspect ratio of 16:10. Peak clearance reaches 500 nits, although claims with regard to color accuracy still have to be verified by independent calibration tests.
Internally, the Gamebook is equipped with 32 GB DDR5 RAM on 5600 MHz, upgradable to 64 GB and a 1 TB PCIE 4.0 SSD. Storage expansion is supported via two M.2 slots, one of which supports PCIE 5.0 and offers a level of future-proof that is not usually seen in the line-up of Chuwi.
Connectivity comprises Wi-Fi 6th, Bluetooth 5.2, a 2.5 GB Ethernet port, two USB-C ports (support of 100W and 140W power output), three USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, HDMI 2.1 and Mini DisplayPort 2.1a. There is also a 3.5 mm audio connection, DC-in and a Kensington slot.
Other functions include a full-sized RGB-BACKLIT keyboard, a 2MP IR-Webcam with a privacy closer, a 77.77WH battery and stereo speakers. The laptop measures slightly more than 21 mm thick and weighs 2.3 kg.
