The new Netflix film The Shadow Strays appears to be an action-packed hitman, based on the thrilling teaser trailer
The Shadow Gets Lost is the latest murderer film by Timo Tjahjanto, the director behind The night comes for us, that was one of the 12 epic action movies we recommended earlier received a high Rotten Tomatoes approval rating from critics and fans. This is good news if, like me, you’ve been disappointed by Netflix’s recent action movies, such as The Union, which was the most popular movie on Netflix for the past two weeks.
It’s clear that Netflix movies can be hit and miss, as we all know – and that goes for the latest comedy offering as well Incoming was panned by critics and got a 27% rating on the review aggregator site. So you can probably understand why I’d like to see more hits to add to our best Netflix movies, and maybe The Shadow Gets Lost fits the picture.
You’ll have to wait until around Halloween to watch it, though. While Tjahjanto’s new film is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September, it’s set to hit Netflix on October 17. We’re sure it’ll be one of many exciting new additions, but hopefully there’ll be more horrors to look forward to. Since October is my favorite time of year, I’m excited to see what the best streaming service has in store.
The first teaser trailer for the new Netflix film certainly looks promising. It’s packed with fast-paced action sequences of a hitman battling a crime syndicate, with barely any dialogue. It’s gripping stuff, full of fistfights, gunplay, and flashing lights, which is pretty much everything you could want from an action movie! You can check out the teaser in the video above.
What is The Shadow Strays about?
The Shadow Gets Lost follows someone known as ‘Codename 13’, a young assassin who is suspended after a failed mission. During this period of inactivity, she befriends a young boy named Monji, who recently lost his mother to a criminal syndicate.
But when Monji mysteriously disappears, Codename 13 decides to go find him, even if it means disobeying orders. So we have a missing boy and a villainous assassin, a recipe for a very good movie. I can’t wait to see it!
Additionally, a statement from Netflix teases that: “The film delves deep into themes of redemption and loyalty, set against the backdrop of a brutal and ruthless underworld. Audiences can expect Tjahjanto’s signature style, with expertly choreographed action sequences guaranteed to keep them on the edge of their seats.”
