The opponent of the Pittsburgh Steelers for the very first NFL match in Ireland was finally confirmed on Tuesday.
Pittsburgh will be the home team in Croke Park in Dublin this fall for the historical occasion.
And the competition confirmed their opponent during an international announcement of competitions on Tuesday morning.
The Steelers compete against the Minnesota Vikings on September 28 at 9.30 am et.
It comes after speculation that the Green Bay Packers were set up as the opponent.
But Aaron Rodgers’ decision about whether he will play for the Steelers or retires apparently had an impact.
The 41-year-old played for the packers for almost two decades and won the Super Bowl in 2010.
He was also a four -time MVP when he was in Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
And a Steelers-Packers confrontation with Rodgers under the middle against his old team would probably be played at Acrisure Stadium.
The full NFL scheme will be unveiled on Wednesday evening.
But some selection framework are confirmed in advance.
The entire series of European competitions was announced on Tuesday morning.

The Vikings go directly to London to compete against the Cleveland Browns.
