The Range sells a Christmas tree that you can put up without any fuss
IT’S almost that time of year again, that’s right, time to dust off your decorations and put up your Christmas tree.
Love it or loathe it, spending time carefully placing each bauble is something that will always put you in the festive spirit.
Of course, putting up your Christmas tree also has some disadvantages, such as the clean-up afterwards and how time-consuming it all is.
That’s why The range have saved shoppers the hassle with their Deluxe Pop-up Tree.
The 6-foot tree comes pre-lit and costs $9.99 for the fun.
Although it’s called a pop-up tree, “drop-down tree” might be more appropriate, as the tree doesn’t actually pop up at all.
In a video shared to TikTok, The Range demonstrated how easy it is to put the tree together, and it actually only takes seconds.
But the no-fuss tree left some customers scratching their heads as they claimed it took all the magic and fun out of it.
The viral video currently has 3.5 million views and has received more than 600 comments, mostly from buyers who were baffled by the price.
“That should be a maximum of £40,” said one.
And a second agreed: “Definitely not worth almost a hundred quid.”
Meanwhile, someone else called the price of the tree “outrageous.”
Others were less concerned about the price and more bothered by the fact that the tree takes out the “magic.”
“It’s more fun to sort the colors of the branches while your family puts them on the tree. It’s like a whole production, I love it,” someone commented on the viral video.
“It takes away all the magic,” said another.
And someone else commented: “Since it’s half the effort, it should be half the price.”
However, another TikTok user pointed out that the tree could be good for people who are “less mobile” and still want to celebrate with a decorated tree.
“It’s good for older people” even if it’s pricey,” said another.
However, The Range isn’t the only store offering pop-up trees. As many noted, other retailers such as Asda have easy-to-assemble trees.
For example, last year Asda had a pop-up tree for just £20.
How do you care for your real Christmas tree?
HERE’S what you need to know when buying a real Christmas tree:
First things first: buy a jar (if it isn’t already in).
You should treat your tree like a houseplant and give it water and attention.
Make sure the container has good drainage. It’s a good idea to put something underneath to catch the excess water.
Check the soil every day to make sure it is not drying out.
If it feels dry, give it some water. If it still feels damp, leave it alone as too much water can also kill a tree.
Also check that the LED bulbs of your tree lights are not too hot, as this can burn them, and keep your tree away from radiators.
Once Christmas is over, try planting it in the garden so you can dig it up and use it again next year.
However, it is a good idea to remove it from the pot when you replant it, as large trees do not survive well in pots as their roots need room to grow.
