But one homeowner has shared the secret spot in the house you might not think to put a mini dehumidifier in — and it works like a charm.

The woman went to TikTok to share her tips for keeping moisture at bay in your home, which can lead to condensation and mold.
Showing a window fogged up with condensation, she added: “If your windows look like this it’s a clear sign that there is too much moisture in the air.
She also pointed out that it can be even worse if you “dry wet clothes and towels in the house.”
“Especially in the winter months when it is absolutely freezing outside and very wet,” she said.
To avoid that, she grabs a pack of cheap dehumidifiers – sold in places like Poundland – and puts them in ‘every room of the house’.
She’s even discovered that they work really well in a place you might not have thought about.
“I even throw them in the washing machine when I close the door because so much moisture gets trapped in them and it creates a damp smell,” she said.
“I have electric dehumidifiers!” one person commented on the viceo.
“Have had them for years but have this one too and it makes a difference!
“First video I’ve seen of it and I’m so excited that you’re promoting it!”
“These have worked so well!” the woman replied.
“Electric ones are so expensive, aren’t they?”
“You can buy them for £1 at home and they have different scents,” said another.
“I’m currently using a cherry version!”
“Don’t buy this, buy a good electric dehumidifier,” another insisted.
As the woman hit back: “They are so expensive, most people can’t afford them.”
What is mold and how do you get rid of it?
Mold is likely to grow during the winter months.
Olivia Young, product development scientist at Amaze revealed exactly why this is.

“Try to come into contact with it as little as possible. So grab your gloves, tie your hair and get to work removing any signs of mold as soon as you notice them.
“To keep mold at bay, there are some simple solutions you can apply throughout your home.
“The first is to keep the bathroom ventilated. Yes, even in the cold winter months, try leaving your bathroom window open for at least 10 to 15 minutes after showering or bathing. This will quickly remove excess moisture and prevent mold from forming.
“If you have repeated problems with mold in a particular room, it may be that the humidity is too high. You can purchase a dehumidifier which will keep levels down and reduce the risk of mold returning.
“The golden rule to remember when dealing with mold is: the sooner you can treat it, the better. Leaving it alone will only make it worse, so never ignore it!
